1 I Exhort therefore, that first of all supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giuing of thanks be made for all men,
1 Antes de tudo, peço que se façam súplicas, orações, intercessões e ações de graças em favor de todas as pessoas.
2 For Kings, and for all that are in authoritie, that we may leade a quiet and a peaceable life, in all godlinesse and honestie.
2 Orem em favor dos reis e de todos os que exercem autoridade, para que vivamos vida mansa e tranquila, com toda piedade e respeito.
3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Sauiour,
3 Isto é bom e aceitável diante de Deus, nosso Salvador,
4 Who will that all men shalbe saued, and come vnto the acknowledging of the trueth.
4 que deseja que todos sejam salvos e cheguem ao pleno conhecimento da verdade.
5 For there is one God, and one Mediatour betweene God and man, which is the man Christ Iesus,
5 Porque há um só Deus e um só Mediador entre Deus e a humanidade, Cristo Jesus, homem,
6 Who gaue himselfe a ransome for all men, to be that testimonie in due time,
6 que deu a si mesmo em resgate por todos, testemunho que se deve dar em tempos oportunos.
7 Whereunto I am ordeined a preacher and an Apostle (I speake the trueth in Christ, and lie not) euen a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and veritie.
7 Para isto fui designado pregador e apóstolo — afirmo a verdade, não minto —, mestre dos gentios na fé e na verdade.
8 I will therefore that the men pray, euery where lifting vp pure hands without wrath, or douting.
8 Quero, pois, que os homens orem em todos os lugares, levantando mãos santas, sem ira e sem animosidade.
9 Likewise also the women, that they aray themselues in comely apparell, with shamefastnes and modestie, not with broyded heare, or gold, or pearles, or costly apparell,
9 Da mesma forma, que as mulheres, em traje decente, se enfeitem com modéstia e bom senso, não com tranças no cabelo, ouro, pérolas ou roupas caras,
10 But (as becommeth women that professe the feare of God) with good workes.
10 porém com boas obras, como convém a mulheres que professam ser piedosas.
11 Let the woman learne in silence with all subiection.
11 A mulher aprenda em silêncio, com toda a submissão.
12 I permit not a woman to teache, neither to vsurpe authoritie ouer the man, but to be in silence.
12 E não permito que a mulher ensine, nem que exerça autoridade sobre o homem; esteja, porém, em silêncio.
13 For Adam was first formed, then Eue.
13 Porque primeiro foi formado Adão, depois Eva.
14 And Adam was not deceiued, but the woman was deceiued, and was in the transgression.
14 E Adão não foi iludido, mas a mulher, sendo enganada, caiu em transgressão.
15 Notwithstanding, through bearing of children she shalbe saued if they continue in faith, and loue, and holines with modestie.
15 Mas ela será salva tendo filhos, se permanecer em fé, amor e santificação, com bom senso.
