1 Againe the Ziphims came vnto Saul to Gibeah, saying, Doeth not Dauid hide him selfe in the hill of Hachilah before Ieshimon?
1 Alguns moradores de Zife foram a Gibeá e contaram a Saul que Davi estava escondido no monte Haquila, em frente de Jesimom.
2 Then Saul arose, and went downe to the wildernes of Ziph, hauing three thousand chosen men of Israel with him, for to seeke Dauid in the wildernesse of Ziph.
2 Então Saul partiu imediatamente para o deserto de Zife com três mil dos melhores soldados de Israel a fim de procurar Davi.
3 And Saul pitched in the hill of Hachilah, which is before Ieshimon by the way side. Now Dauid abode in the wildernesse, and he sawe that Saul came after him into the wildernesse.
3 Eles acamparam no monte Haquila, em frente de Jesimom. Davi estava no deserto e ouviu dizer que Saul tinha vindo atrás dele.
4 (For Dauid had sent out spies, and vnderstood, that Saul was come in very deede)
4 Aí enviou alguns espiões e ficou sabendo que Saul, de fato, estava ali.
5 Then Dauid arose, and came to the place where Saul had pitched, and when Dauid beheld the place where Saul lay, and Abner the sonne of Ner which was his chiefe captaine, (for Saul lay in the fort, and the people pitched round about him)
5 Imediatamente foi até lá e encontrou o lugar onde dormiam Saul e Abner, filho de Ner, comandante do seu exército. Saul dormia dentro do acampamento, e os seus soldados acampavam em volta dele.
6 Then spake Dauid, and said to Ahimelech the Hittite, and to Abishai the sonne of Zeruiah, brother to Ioab, saying, Who will go downe with me to Saul to the hoste? Then Abishai said, I will goe downe with thee.
6 Então Davi perguntou ao heteu Aimeleque e a Abisai, cuja mãe era Zeruia e cujo irmão era Joabe: — Quem de vocês vai comigo ao acampamento de Saul? — Eu vou! — respondeu Abisai.
7 So Dauid and Abishai came downe to the people by night: and beholde, Saul lay sleeping within the fort, and his speare did sticke in the ground at his head: and Abner and the people lay round about him.
7 Assim, naquela noite, Davi e Abisai entraram no acampamento de Saul. E o encontraram dormindo no centro do acampamento, com a sua lança fincada no chão, perto da sua cabeça. Abner e os soldados dormiam em volta de Saul.
8 Then saide Abishai to Dauid, God hath closed thine enemie into thine hande this day: now therefore, I pray thee, let me smite him once with a speare to the earth, and I will not smite him againe.
8 Então Abisai disse a Davi: — Esta noite Deus colocou o seu inimigo nas suas mãos. Agora deixe que eu atravesse Saul com a lança dele e o espete no chão com um só golpe. Não precisarei dar dois golpes!
9 And Dauid sayde to Abishai, Destroy him not: for who can lay his hand on the Lordes anoynted, and be giltlesse?
9 Mas Davi respondeu: — Não o mate, pois o
10 Moreouer Dauid said, As the Lord liueth, eyther the Lord shall smite him, or his day shall come to dye, or he shall descend into battel, and perish.
10 Tão certo como o Senhor Deus está vivo, assim ele mesmo matará Saul, seja quando chegar o seu dia de morrer, seja numa batalha!
11 The Lord keepe mee from laying mine hand vpon the Lordes anointed: but, I pray thee, take now the speare that is at his head, and the pot of water, and let vs goe hence.
11 O Senhor me livre de levantar a mão contra quem ele escolheu como rei! Vamos pegar o jarro de água e a lança dele e vamos embora.
12 So Dauid tooke the speare and the pot of water from Sauls head, and they gate them away, and no man saw it, nor marked it, neither did any awake, but they were all asleepe: for the Lord had sent a dead sleepe vpon them.
12 Então Davi pegou a lança e o jarro de água que estavam ao lado da cabeça de Saul e foi embora com Abisai. Ninguém os viu, nem soube o que havia acontecido. E ninguém acordou. Todos estavam dormindo profundamente porque o Senhor tinha feito com que todos eles caíssem num sono profundo.
13 Then Dauid went vnto the other side, and stoode on the toppe of an hill a farre off, a great space being betweene them.
13 Aí Davi passou para o outro lado do vale, foi até o alto do monte, a uma boa distância deles,
14 And Dauid cryed to the people, and to Abner the sonne of Ner, saying, Hearest thou not, Abner? Then Abner answered, and said, Who art thou that cryest to the King?
14 e gritou para Abner e para os soldados de Saul: — Abner, você está me ouvindo? — Quem é que está gritando para o rei? — perguntou Abner.
15 And Dauid said to Abner, Art not thou a man? and who is like thee in Israel? wherefore then hast thou not kept thy lorde the King? for there came one of the folke in to destroy the King thy lord.
15 Davi respondeu: — Você é homem ou não é? Você não é o melhor soldado de Israel? Então por que não protegeu o seu chefe, o rei? Agora mesmo alguém entrou no acampamento para matar o rei, o seu chefe.
16 This is not well done of thee: as the Lord liueth, ye are worthy to dye, because ye haue not kept your master the Lordes Anointed: and now see where the Kings speare is, and the pot of water that was at his head.
16 Você falhou, Abner! Eu juro pelo Senhor , o Deus vivo, que vocês todos morrerão, pois não protegeram o seu chefe, que o Senhor Deus fez rei. Escutem! Onde está a lança do rei? Onde está o jarro de água que estava ao lado da cabeça dele?
17 And Saul knewe Dauids voyce, and sayde, Is this thy voyce, my sonne Dauid? And Dauid sayde, It is my voyce, my lorde O King.
17 Saul reconheceu a voz de Davi e perguntou: — Davi, é você, meu filho? — Sim, senhor! — respondeu Davi.
18 And he sayde, Wherefore doeth my lorde thus persecute his seruant? for what haue I done? or what euill is in mine hand?
18 — Por que é que o senhor continua a perseguir este seu criado? O que foi que eu fiz? Qual foi o crime que cometi?
19 Now therefore, I beseech thee, let my lord the King heare the wordes of his seruant. If the Lord haue stirred thee vp against me, let him smell the sauour of a sacrifice: but if the children of men haue done it, cursed be they before the Lord: for they haue cast me out this day from abiding in the inheritance of the Lord, saying, Goe, serue other gods.
19 Ó rei, escute o que eu tenho a dizer. Se foi Deus que fez o senhor se virar contra mim, ele mudará de ideia se lhe for feita uma oferta. Mas, se foram certas pessoas que fizeram isso, que a maldição de Deus caia sobre elas! Pois me expulsaram da terra do Senhor Deus para uma terra onde posso adorar somente deuses estrangeiros.
20 Nowe therefore let not my blood fall to the earth before the face of the Lord: for the King of Israel is come out to seeke a flea, as one would hunt a partridge in the mountaines.
20 Não me deixe ser morto em terra estrangeira, longe do Senhor Deus! Por que o rei de Israel viria aqui? Para procurar uma pulga como eu? Por que me caçaria como se eu fosse um pássaro selvagem?
21 Then sayde Saul, I haue sinned: come againe, my sonne Dauid: for I will doe thee no more harme, because my soule was precious in thine eyes this day: behold, I haue done foolishly, and haue erred exceedingly.
21 Saul respondeu: — Eu errei. Volte, meu filho Davi! Nunca mais eu lhe farei nenhum mal, pois esta noite você respeitou a minha vida. Tenho sido um louco e cometi um grande erro!
22 Then Dauid answered, and saide, Beholde the Kings speare, let one of the yong men come ouer and set it.
22 Então Davi disse: — Aqui está a sua lança, senhor. Que um dos seus homens venha buscá-la!
23 And let the Lord rewarde euery man according to his righteousnesse and faithfulnesse: for the Lord had deliuered thee into mine handes this day, but I woulde not lay mine hand vpon the Lords anointed.
23 O Senhor Deus recompensa aqueles que são fiéis e corretos. Hoje ele colocou o senhor nas minhas mãos, mas eu não levantei a mão para matar aquele que Deus escolheu como rei.
24 And beholde, like as thy life was much set by this day in mine eyes: so let my life be set by in the eyes of the Lord, that he may deliuer me out of all tribulation.
24 Assim como eu hoje respeitei a sua vida, que o Senhor faça o mesmo comigo e me livre de todas as dificuldades!
25 Then Saul said to Dauid, Blessed art thou, my sonne Dauid: for thou shalt doe great things, and also preuaile. So Dauid went his way, and Saul returned to his place.
25 E Saul respondeu a Davi: — Deus o abençoe, meu filho! Tudo o que você fizer dará certo! Então Davi foi embora, e Saul voltou para casa.
