1 Againe the Ziphims came vnto Saul to Gibeah, saying, Doeth not Dauid hide him selfe in the hill of Hachilah before Ieshimon?
1 Os zifeus foram falar com Saul, em Gibeá, e disseram: — Não é verdade que Davi está escondido no monte Haquila, em frente de Jesimom?
2 Then Saul arose, and went downe to the wildernes of Ziph, hauing three thousand chosen men of Israel with him, for to seeke Dauid in the wildernesse of Ziph.
2 Então Saul se levantou e foi ao deserto de Zife, em busca de Davi, levando consigo três mil homens escolhidos de Israel.
3 And Saul pitched in the hill of Hachilah, which is before Ieshimon by the way side. Now Dauid abode in the wildernesse, and he sawe that Saul came after him into the wildernesse.
3 Saul acampou no monte Haquila, em frente de Jesimom, junto ao caminho, porém Davi ficou no deserto. Quando ouviu dizer que Saul vinha à sua procura no deserto,
4 (For Dauid had sent out spies, and vnderstood, that Saul was come in very deede)
4 enviou espias e soube que Saul, de fato, tinha chegado.
5 Then Dauid arose, and came to the place where Saul had pitched, and when Dauid beheld the place where Saul lay, and Abner the sonne of Ner which was his chiefe captaine, (for Saul lay in the fort, and the people pitched round about him)
5 Davi se levantou e foi ao lugar onde Saul estava acampado. Viu o lugar onde dormiam Saul e Abner, filho de Ner, comandante do seu exército. Saul dormia dentro do acampamento, e o povo estava acampado ao redor dele.
6 Then spake Dauid, and said to Ahimelech the Hittite, and to Abishai the sonne of Zeruiah, brother to Ioab, saying, Who will go downe with me to Saul to the hoste? Then Abishai said, I will goe downe with thee.
6 Davi perguntou a Aimeleque, o heteu, e a Abisai, filho de Zeruia, irmão de Joabe: — Quem irá comigo ao arraial de Saul? Abisai respondeu: — Eu irei com você.
7 So Dauid and Abishai came downe to the people by night: and beholde, Saul lay sleeping within the fort, and his speare did sticke in the ground at his head: and Abner and the people lay round about him.
7 Assim, Davi e Abisai foram, de noite, ao acampamento. E eis que Saul estava deitado, dormindo. A lança dele estava fincada na terra, perto da sua cabeça. Abner e o povo estavam deitados ao redor dele.
8 Then saide Abishai to Dauid, God hath closed thine enemie into thine hande this day: now therefore, I pray thee, let me smite him once with a speare to the earth, and I will not smite him againe.
8 Então Abisai disse a Davi: — Hoje Deus entregou o seu inimigo nas suas mãos. Deixe que eu vá, agora, encravá-lo com a lança, ao chão, com um só golpe; não será preciso um segundo golpe.
9 And Dauid sayde to Abishai, Destroy him not: for who can lay his hand on the Lordes anoynted, and be giltlesse?
9 Davi, porém, respondeu a Abisai: — Não o mate, pois quem pode estender a mão contra o ungido do
10 Moreouer Dauid said, As the Lord liueth, eyther the Lord shall smite him, or his day shall come to dye, or he shall descend into battel, and perish.
10 Davi continuou: — Tão certo como vive o
11 The Lord keepe mee from laying mine hand vpon the Lordes anointed: but, I pray thee, take now the speare that is at his head, and the pot of water, and let vs goe hence.
11 O Senhor me livre de estender a mão contra o seu ungido! Agora, porém, pegue a lança que está perto da cabeça dele e o jarro de água, e vamos embora.
12 So Dauid tooke the speare and the pot of water from Sauls head, and they gate them away, and no man saw it, nor marked it, neither did any awake, but they were all asleepe: for the Lord had sent a dead sleepe vpon them.
12 Então Davi pegou a lança e o jarro de água que estavam perto da cabeça de Saul, e eles foram embora. Ninguém viu, nem ficou sabendo, nem acordou. Todos dormiam, porque havia caído sobre eles um profundo sono, vindo da parte do Senhor .
13 Then Dauid went vnto the other side, and stoode on the toppe of an hill a farre off, a great space being betweene them.
13 Quando Davi tinha passado para o outro lado, pôs-se no alto do monte ao longe, de maneira que havia uma grande distância entre eles.
14 And Dauid cryed to the people, and to Abner the sonne of Ner, saying, Hearest thou not, Abner? Then Abner answered, and said, Who art thou that cryest to the King?
14 Então gritou para o povo e para Abner, filho de Ner, dizendo: — Você não vai responder, Abner? Então Abner respondeu: — Quem é você, que está aí gritando para o rei?
15 And Dauid said to Abner, Art not thou a man? and who is like thee in Israel? wherefore then hast thou not kept thy lorde the King? for there came one of the folke in to destroy the King thy lord.
15 Davi respondeu: — Você não é homem? E quem é igual a você em Israel? Então por que não protegeu o seu senhor, o rei? Porque alguém do povo foi até aí para matar o rei, seu senhor.
16 This is not well done of thee: as the Lord liueth, ye are worthy to dye, because ye haue not kept your master the Lordes Anointed: and now see where the Kings speare is, and the pot of water that was at his head.
16 Não é bom isso que você fez! Tão certo como vive o Senhor Deus, vocês merecem morrer, vocês que não protegeram seu senhor, o ungido do Senhor Deus. Agora vejam onde está a lança do rei e o jarro de água que estava perto da cabeça dele.
17 And Saul knewe Dauids voyce, and sayde, Is this thy voyce, my sonne Dauid? And Dauid sayde, It is my voyce, my lorde O King.
17 Então Saul reconheceu a voz de Davi e disse: — É esta a sua voz, meu filho Davi? E Davi respondeu: — Sim, é a minha voz, ó rei, meu senhor.
18 And he sayde, Wherefore doeth my lorde thus persecute his seruant? for what haue I done? or what euill is in mine hand?
18 Disse mais: — Por que o meu senhor está perseguindo o seu servo? O que foi que eu fiz? E que maldade se acha nas minhas mãos?
19 Now therefore, I beseech thee, let my lord the King heare the wordes of his seruant. If the Lord haue stirred thee vp against me, let him smell the sauour of a sacrifice: but if the children of men haue done it, cursed be they before the Lord: for they haue cast me out this day from abiding in the inheritance of the Lord, saying, Goe, serue other gods.
19 E agora, ó rei, meu senhor, por favor escute as palavras deste seu servo. Se é o Senhor Deus que o está incitando contra mim, que ele aceite uma oferta. Mas, se são os filhos dos homens, que sejam malditos diante do Senhor ! Porque eles me expulsaram hoje, para que eu não tenha parte na herança do Senhor , como que dizendo: “Vá e sirva outros deuses.”
20 Nowe therefore let not my blood fall to the earth before the face of the Lord: for the King of Israel is come out to seeke a flea, as one would hunt a partridge in the mountaines.
20 Agora, que o meu sangue não seja derramado longe desta terra do Senhor . Porque o rei de Israel saiu em busca de uma pulga, como quem persegue uma perdiz nos montes.
21 Then sayde Saul, I haue sinned: come againe, my sonne Dauid: for I will doe thee no more harme, because my soule was precious in thine eyes this day: behold, I haue done foolishly, and haue erred exceedingly.
21 Então Saul disse: — Pequei! Volte, meu filho Davi, pois não mais lhe farei mal, porque hoje a minha vida foi preciosa aos seus olhos. Eu tenho agido como um louco e cometi um erro muito grande.
22 Then Dauid answered, and saide, Beholde the Kings speare, let one of the yong men come ouer and set it.
22 Davi respondeu: — Aqui está a lança, ó rei. Que um dos seus rapazes venha aqui pegá-la.
23 And let the Lord rewarde euery man according to his righteousnesse and faithfulnesse: for the Lord had deliuered thee into mine handes this day, but I woulde not lay mine hand vpon the Lords anointed.
23 E que o Senhor Deus recompense cada um pela sua justiça e lealdade. Porque hoje o Senhor Deus o havia entregado nas minhas mãos, porém eu não quis estendê-las contra o ungido do Senhor .
24 And beholde, like as thy life was much set by this day in mine eyes: so let my life be set by in the eyes of the Lord, that he may deliuer me out of all tribulation.
24 Assim como hoje a sua vida foi de grande valor aos meus olhos, assim também seja a minha vida aos olhos do Senhor Deus, e que ele me livre de toda a angústia.
25 Then Saul said to Dauid, Blessed art thou, my sonne Dauid: for thou shalt doe great things, and also preuaile. So Dauid went his way, and Saul returned to his place.
25 Então Saul disse a Davi: — Bendito seja você, meu filho Davi! Porque você fará grandes coisas e certamente será bem-sucedido. Então Davi seguiu o seu caminho, e Saul voltou para casa.
