1 Againe the Ziphims came vnto Saul to Gibeah, saying, Doeth not Dauid hide him selfe in the hill of Hachilah before Ieshimon?
1 E vieram os zifeus a Saul, a Gibeá, dizendo: Não está Davi escondido no outeiro de Haquilá, defronte de Jesimom?
2 Then Saul arose, and went downe to the wildernes of Ziph, hauing three thousand chosen men of Israel with him, for to seeke Dauid in the wildernesse of Ziph.
2 Então Saul se levantou e desceu ao deserto de Zife, e com ele três mil homens escolhidos de Israel, a buscar a Davi no deserto de Zife.
3 And Saul pitched in the hill of Hachilah, which is before Ieshimon by the way side. Now Dauid abode in the wildernesse, and he sawe that Saul came after him into the wildernesse.
3 E acampou-se Saul no outeiro de Haquilá, que está defronte de Jesimom, junto ao caminho; porém Davi ficou no deserto, e viu que Saul vinha seguindo-o no deserto.
4 (For Dauid had sent out spies, and vnderstood, that Saul was come in very deede)
4 Pois Davi enviou espias, e soube que Saul tinha vindo.
5 Then Dauid arose, and came to the place where Saul had pitched, and when Dauid beheld the place where Saul lay, and Abner the sonne of Ner which was his chiefe captaine, (for Saul lay in the fort, and the people pitched round about him)
5 E Davi se levantou, e foi ao lugar onde Saul se tinha acampado; viu Davi o lugar onde se tinha deitado Saul, e Abner, filho de Ner, capitão do seu exército; e Saul estava deitado dentro do lugar dos carros, e o povo estava acampado ao redor dele.
6 Then spake Dauid, and said to Ahimelech the Hittite, and to Abishai the sonne of Zeruiah, brother to Ioab, saying, Who will go downe with me to Saul to the hoste? Then Abishai said, I will goe downe with thee.
6 E dirigindo-se Davi a Aimeleque, o heteu, e a Abisai, filho de Zeruia, irmão de Joabe, disse: Quem descerá comigo a Saul ao arraial? E respondeu Abisai: Eu descerei contigo.
7 So Dauid and Abishai came downe to the people by night: and beholde, Saul lay sleeping within the fort, and his speare did sticke in the ground at his head: and Abner and the people lay round about him.
7 Foram, pois, Davi e Abisai de noite ao povo, e eis que Saul estava deitado dormindo dentro do lugar dos carros, e a sua lança estava fincada na terra à sua cabeceira; e Abner e o povo deitavam-se ao redor dele.
8 Then saide Abishai to Dauid, God hath closed thine enemie into thine hande this day: now therefore, I pray thee, let me smite him once with a speare to the earth, and I will not smite him againe.
8 Então disse Abisai a Davi: Deus te entregou hoje nas mãos o teu inimigo; deixa-me, pois, agora encravá-lo com a lança de uma vez na terra, e não o ferirei segunda vez.
9 And Dauid sayde to Abishai, Destroy him not: for who can lay his hand on the Lordes anoynted, and be giltlesse?
9 E disse Davi a Abisai: Nenhum dano lhe faças; porque quem estendeu a sua mão contra o ungido do Senhor, e ficou inocente?
10 Moreouer Dauid said, As the Lord liueth, eyther the Lord shall smite him, or his day shall come to dye, or he shall descend into battel, and perish.
10 Disse mais Davi: Vive o Senhor que o Senhor o ferirá, ou o seu dia chegará em que morra, ou descerá para a batalha e perecerá.
11 The Lord keepe mee from laying mine hand vpon the Lordes anointed: but, I pray thee, take now the speare that is at his head, and the pot of water, and let vs goe hence.
11 O Senhor me guarde, de que eu estenda a mão contra o ungido do Senhor; agora, porém, toma a lança que está à sua cabeceira e a bilha de água, e vamo-nos.
12 So Dauid tooke the speare and the pot of water from Sauls head, and they gate them away, and no man saw it, nor marked it, neither did any awake, but they were all asleepe: for the Lord had sent a dead sleepe vpon them.
12 Tomou, pois, Davi a lança e a bilha de água, da cabeceira de Saul, e foram-se; e ninguém houve que o visse, nem que o advertisse, nem que acordasse; porque todos estavam dormindo, porque da parte do Senhor havia caído sobre eles um profundo sono.
13 Then Dauid went vnto the other side, and stoode on the toppe of an hill a farre off, a great space being betweene them.
13 E Davi, passando ao outro lado, pôs-se no cume do monte ao longe, de maneira que entre eles havia grande distância.
14 And Dauid cryed to the people, and to Abner the sonne of Ner, saying, Hearest thou not, Abner? Then Abner answered, and said, Who art thou that cryest to the King?
14 E Davi bradou ao povo, e a Abner, filho de Ner, dizendo: Não responderás, Abner? Então Abner respondeu e disse: Quem és tu, que bradas ao rei?
15 And Dauid said to Abner, Art not thou a man? and who is like thee in Israel? wherefore then hast thou not kept thy lorde the King? for there came one of the folke in to destroy the King thy lord.
15 Então disse Davi a Abner: Porventura não és homem? E quem há em Israel como tu? Por que, pois, não guardaste o rei, teu senhor? Porque um do povo veio para destruir o rei, teu senhor.
16 This is not well done of thee: as the Lord liueth, ye are worthy to dye, because ye haue not kept your master the Lordes Anointed: and now see where the Kings speare is, and the pot of water that was at his head.
16 Não é bom isso, que fizeste; vive o SENHOR, que sois dignos de morte, vós que não guardastes a vosso senhor, o ungido do SENHOR; vede, pois, agora onde está a lança do rei, e a bilha de água, que tinha à sua cabeceira.
17 And Saul knewe Dauids voyce, and sayde, Is this thy voyce, my sonne Dauid? And Dauid sayde, It is my voyce, my lorde O King.
17 Então conheceu Saul a voz de Davi, e disse: Não é esta a tua voz, meu filho Davi? E disse Davi: É minha voz, ó rei meu senhor.
18 And he sayde, Wherefore doeth my lorde thus persecute his seruant? for what haue I done? or what euill is in mine hand?
18 Disse mais: Por que persegue o meu senhor tanto o seu servo? Que fiz eu? E que maldade se acha nas minhas mãos?
19 Now therefore, I beseech thee, let my lord the King heare the wordes of his seruant. If the Lord haue stirred thee vp against me, let him smell the sauour of a sacrifice: but if the children of men haue done it, cursed be they before the Lord: for they haue cast me out this day from abiding in the inheritance of the Lord, saying, Goe, serue other gods.
19 Ouve, pois, agora, te rogo, rei meu senhor, as palavras de teu servo: Se o SENHOR te incita contra mim, receba ele a oferta de alimentos; se, porém, são os filhos dos homens, malditos sejam perante o SENHOR; pois eles me têm expulsado hoje para que eu não tenha parte na herança do SENHOR, dizendo: Vai, serve a outros deuses.
20 Nowe therefore let not my blood fall to the earth before the face of the Lord: for the King of Israel is come out to seeke a flea, as one would hunt a partridge in the mountaines.
20 Agora, pois, não se derrame o meu sangue na terra diante do Senhor; pois saiu o rei de Israel em busca de uma pulga, como quem persegue uma perdiz nos montes.
21 Then sayde Saul, I haue sinned: come againe, my sonne Dauid: for I will doe thee no more harme, because my soule was precious in thine eyes this day: behold, I haue done foolishly, and haue erred exceedingly.
21 Então disse Saul: Pequei; volta, meu filho Davi, porque não tornarei a fazer-te mal; porque foi hoje preciosa a minha vida aos teus olhos; eis que procedi loucamente, e errei grandissimamente.
22 Then Dauid answered, and saide, Beholde the Kings speare, let one of the yong men come ouer and set it.
22 Davi então respondeu, e disse: Eis aqui a lança do rei; venha cá um dos moços, e leve-a.
23 And let the Lord rewarde euery man according to his righteousnesse and faithfulnesse: for the Lord had deliuered thee into mine handes this day, but I woulde not lay mine hand vpon the Lords anointed.
23 O Senhor, porém, pague a cada um a sua justiça e a sua lealdade; pois o Senhor te entregou hoje na minha mão, porém não quis estender a minha mão contra o ungido do Senhor.
24 And beholde, like as thy life was much set by this day in mine eyes: so let my life be set by in the eyes of the Lord, that he may deliuer me out of all tribulation.
24 E eis que, assim como foi a tua vida hoje de tanta estima aos meus olhos, assim seja a minha vida de muita estima aos olhos do Senhor, e ele me livre de toda a tribulação.
25 Then Saul said to Dauid, Blessed art thou, my sonne Dauid: for thou shalt doe great things, and also preuaile. So Dauid went his way, and Saul returned to his place.
25 Então Saul disse a Davi: Bendito sejas tu, meu filho Davi; pois grandes coisas farás e também prevalecerás. Então Davi se foi pelo seu caminho e Saul voltou para o seu lugar.
