1 The sonnes of Iudah were Pharez, Hezron, and Carmi, and Hur, and Shobal.
1 São estes os descendentes de Judá: Peres, Hezrom, Carmi, Hur e Sobal.
2 And Reaiah the sonne of Shobal begat Iahath, and Iahath begate Ahumai, and Lahad: these are the families of the Zoreathites.
2 Sobal foi pai de Reaías, Reaías foi pai de Jaate, Jaate foi pai de Aumai e Laade. Aumai e Laade foram os antepassados dos grupos de famílias que moravam em Zora.
3 And these were of the father of Etam, Izreel, and Ishma and Idbash: and the name of their sister was Hazelelponi.

4 And Penuel was the father of Gedor, and Ezer the father of Hushah: these are the sonnes of Hur the eldest sonne of Ephratah, the father of Beth-lehem.

5 But Asher the father of Tekoa had two wiues, Heleah, and Naarah.

6 And Naarah bare him Ahuzam, and Hepher, and Temeni and Haashtari: these were the sonnes of Naarah.
6 Ele e Naara tiveram quatro filhos: Auzã, Héfer, Temeni e Haastari.
7 And the sonnes of Heleah were Zereth, Iezohar and Ethnan.
7 Asur e Helá tiveram três filhos: Zerete, Isar e Etnã.
8 Also Coz begate Anub, and Zobebah, and the families of Aharhel the sonne of Harum.
8 Coz foi pai de Anube e Zobeba e foi o antepassado dos grupos de famílias que descendem de Acarel, filho de Harum.
9 But Iabez was more honourable then his brethren: and his mother called his name Iabez, saying, Because I bare him in sorowe.
9 Houve um homem chamado Jabes, que foi a pessoa mais respeitada da sua família. A sua mãe pôs nele o nome de Jabes porque ela havia sofrido muito durante o parto.
10 And Iabez called on the God of Israel, saying, If thou wilt blesse me in deede, and enlarge my coastes, and if thine hand be with me, and thou wilt cause me to be deliuered from euill, that I be not hurt. And God graunted the thing that he asked.
10 Mas Jabes orou assim ao Deus de Israel: “Ó Deus, abençoa-me e dá-me muitas terras. Fica comigo e livra-me de qualquer coisa que possa me causar dor.” E Deus atendeu a sua oração.
11 And Chelub the brother of Shuah begate Mehir, which was the father of Eshton.
11 Quelube, irmão de Suá, foi pai de um filho chamado Meir. Meir foi pai de Estom,
12 And Eshton begate Beth-rapha, and Paseah, and Tehinnah the father of the citie of Nahash: these are the men of Rechah.
12 e Estom foi pai de três filhos: Bete-Rafa, Paseia e Teína. Teína foi o fundador da cidade de Naás. Os descendentes deles moravam em Reca.
13 And the sonnes of Kenaz were Othniel and Zeraiah, and the sonne of Othniel, Hathath.
13 Quenaz foi pai de dois filhos: Otoniel e Seraías. Otoniel também foi pai de dois filhos: Hatate e Meonotai.
14 And Meonothai begate Ophrah. And Seraiah begate Ioab the father of the valley of craftesmen: for they were craftesmen.
14 Meonotai foi pai de Ofrá. Seraías foi pai de Joabe, o fundador do vale dos Artesãos, onde todos os homens faziam trabalhos de artesanato.
15 And the sonnes of Caleb the sonne of Iephunneh were Iru, Elah, and Naam. And the sonne of Elah was Kenaz.
15 Calebe, filho de Jefoné, foi pai de três filhos: Iru, Elá e Naã. E Elá foi pai de Quenaz.
16 And the sonnes of Iehaleel were Ziph, and Ziphah, Tiria, and Asareel.
16 Jealelel foi pai de quatro filhos: Zife, Zifa, Tiria e Asareel.
17 And the sonnes of Ezrah were Iether and Mered, and Epher, and Ialon, and he begate Miriam, and Shammai, and Ishbah the father of Eshtemoa.
17 Esdras foi pai de quatro filhos: Jéter, Merede, Éfer e Jalom. Merede casou com Bitia, que era filha do rei do Egito, e eles tiveram uma filha chamada Míriam e dois filhos: Samai e Isba. Isba fundou a cidade de Estemoa.
18 Also his wife Iehudiiah bare Iered the father of Gedor, and Heber the father of Socho, and Iekuthiel the father of Zanoah: and these are the sonnes of Bithiah ye daughter of Pharaoh which Mered tooke.
18 Merede também casou com uma mulher da tribo de Judá, e eles tiveram três filhos: Jerede, que fundou a cidade de Gedor; Héber, que fundou Socó; e Jecutiel, que fundou Zanoa.
19 And the sonnes of the wife of Hodiah, the sister of Naham the father of Keilah were the Garmites, and Eshtemoa the Maachathite.
19 Hodias casou com a irmã de Naã. Os seus descendentes fundaram o grupo de famílias de Garmi, que morava na cidade de Queila, e o grupo de famílias de Maacá, que morava em Estemoa.
20 And the sonnes of Shimon were Amnon and Rinnah, Ben-hanam and Tilon. And the sonnes of Ishi were Zoheth, and Benzoheth.
20 Simão foi pai de quatro filhos: Amnom, Rina, Ben-Hanã e Tilom. Isi foi pai de dois filhos: Zoete e Ben-Zoete.
21 The sonnes of Shelah, the sonne of Iudah were Er the father of Lecah, and Laadah the father of Mareshah, and the families of the householdes of them that wrought fine linnen in the house of Ashbea.
21 Selá foi um dos filhos de Judá. Um dos descendentes de Selá foi Er, que fundou a cidade de Leca; outro foi Lada, que fundou Maressa. Selá foi também o antepassado dos grupos de famílias que teciam linho e que moravam na cidade de Bete-Asbeia.
22 And Iokim and the men of Chozeba and Ioash, and Saraph, which had the dominion in Moab, and Iashubi Lehem. These also are auncient things.
22 Foi também o antepassado de Joquim e do povo que morava na cidade de Cozeba. E também de Joás e Sarafe, que casaram com mulheres moabitas e ficaram morando em Belém. (Estes registros são antigos.)
23 These were potters, and dwelt among plants and hedges: there they dwelt with the king for his worke.
23 Eles eram oleiros que trabalhavam para o rei e moravam nas cidades de Netaim e Gedera.
24 The sonnes of Simeon were Nemuel, and Iamin, Iarib, Zerah, and Shaul,
24 Simeão foi pai de cinco filhos: Nemuel, Jamim, Jaribe, Zera e Saul.
25 Whose sonne was Shallum, and his sonne, Mibsam, and his sonne Mishma.
25 Saul foi pai de Salum, Salum foi pai de Mibsão, e Mibsão foi pai de Misma.
26 And the sonnes of Mishma, Hamuel was his sonne, Zacchur his sonne, and Shimei his sonne.
26 Misma foi pai de Hamuel, Hamuel foi pai de Zacur, e Zacur foi pai de Simei.
27 And Shimei had sixteene sonnes, and sixe daughters, but his brethren had not many children, neither was all their familie like to the children of Iudah in multitude.
27 Simei foi pai de dezesseis filhos e seis filhas, mas os seus parentes tiveram menos filhos do que ele, e a tribo de Simeão não cresceu tanto como a tribo de Judá.
28 And they dwelt at Beer-sheba, and at Moladah, and at Hazar Shual,
28 Até o tempo do rei Davi, os descendentes de Simeão moravam nas seguintes cidades: Berseba, Molada, Hazar-Sual,
29 And at Bilhah, and at Ezem, and at Tolad,
29 Bila, Ezém, Tolade,
30 And at Bethuel, and at Hormah, and at Ziklag,
30 Betuel, Horma, Ziclague,
31 And at Beth-marcaboth, and at Hazar Susim, at Beth-birei, and at Shaaraim, these were their cities vnto the reigne of Dauid.
31 Bete-Marcabote, Hazar-Susim, Bete-Biri e Saaraim.
32 And their townes were Etam, and Ain, Rimmon, and Tochen, and Ashan, fiue cities.
32 Eles também moravam em mais cinco cidades: Etã, Aim, Rimom, Toquém e Asã,
33 And all their townes that were rounde about these cities vnto Baal, These are their habitations and the declaration of their genealogie,
33 e nos povoados que ficavam ao seu redor, até a cidade de Baal. São essas as suas famílias e os lugares onde moravam. As suas famílias continuaram a aumentar, e por isso
34 And Meshobab, and Iamlech, and Ioshah the sonne of Amashiah,

35 And Ioel and Iehu the sonne of Ioshibiah, the sonne of Seraiah, the sonne of Asiel,

36 And Elionai, and Iaakobah, and Ieshohaiah, and Asaiah, and Adiel, and Iesimiel, and Benaiah,

37 And Ziza the sonne of Shiphei, the sonne of Allon, the sonne of Iedaiah, the sonne of Shimri, the sonne of Shemaiah.

38 These were famous princes in their families, and increased greatly their fathers houses.

39 And they went to the entring in of Gedor, euen vnto the East side of the valley, to seeke pasture for their sheepe.
39 eles se espalharam para o oeste quase até Gerar e levaram as suas ovelhas para pastar no lado leste do vale onde fica aquela cidade.
40 And they found fat pasture and good, and a wide land, both quiet and fruitfull: for they of Ham had dwelt there before.
40 Ali eles acharam muitas pastagens num pedaço de terra espaçosa, tranquila e cheia de paz. Os descendentes de Cam haviam morado ali antes.
41 And these described by name, came in the dayes of Hezekiah king of Iudah, and smote their tents, and the inhabitants that were found there, and destroyed them vtterly vnto this day, and dwelt in their roume, because there was pasture there for their sheepe.
41 No tempo do rei Ezequias, de Judá, os homens cujos nomes estão escritos acima foram até Gerar e destruíram as barracas e cabanas do povo que morava ali. Eles expulsaram o povo e ficaram morando em Gerar porque ali havia bastante pasto para as suas ovelhas.
42 And besides these, fiue hundreth men of the sonnes of Simeon went to mount Seir, and Pelatiah, and Neariah, and Rophaiah, and Vzziel the sonnes of Ishi were their captaines,
42 Quinhentos homens da tribo de Simeão foram para Edom, na direção leste. Os seus chefes eram os filhos de Isi: Pelatias, Nearias, Refaías e Uziel.
43 And they smote the rest of Amalek that had escaped, and they dwelt there vnto this day.
43 Eles mataram os amalequitas que haviam escapado com vida e estão morando ali até hoje .
