¹ Porque a lei, tendo a sombra das coisas boas que virão, e não a imagem exata das coisas, não pode nunca, com os mesmos sacrifícios que eram continuamente oferecidos de ano em ano, aperfeiçoar os que se achegam.

²³ Fiquemos, pois, firmes em nossa profissão de fé, sem nos abalar; (porque fiel é aquele que prometeu);

²⁴ e consideremo-nos uns aos outros, para nos estimularmos ao amor e às boas obras.

²⁵ Não abandonando a nossa assembleia, como é costume de alguns, antes exortando-nos uns aos outros; e tanto mais, à medida que vedes que aquele dia se aproxima.

²⁹ Com quão maior castigo pensais vós que será julgado merecedor aquele que pisar o Filho de Deus, e tiver por profano o sangue do pacto com que foi santificado, e ultrajar ao Espírito da graça?

³⁰ for we-have-beheld the say[ing], "'To{emphatically-me} [is] out-justice/vindication; I will-opposite/in-place-of-give-off/away[i.e. compensation in exchange],' [the] Lord is-saying," and again, "[The] Lord will-judge the people of{same}."

³⁰ Porque conhecemos aquele que disse: A vingança pertence a mim, eu retribuirei, diz o Senhor. E outra vez: O Senhor julgará o seu povo.

³¹ Fearful the to-fall-in into [the] hands of{[the] being-alive God}.

³¹ Coisa terrível é cair nas mãos do Deus vivo.

³² Moreover, be-reminding-selves-anew the more-before days in to{which}, light-ized/illuminated, you-remain-under much contest-sis[i.e. state of contest] of{suffer-effects};

³² Lembrai-vos, porém, dos dias passados, nos quais, depois de serdes iluminados, suportastes grande combate de aflições.

³³ Em parte, sendo feitos alvos tanto de desonra como de aflições, e também por vos tornardes companheiros dos que assim foram tratados.

³⁴ Pois vos compadecestes de mim em minhas prisões, mas também com alegria aceitastes a espoliação dos vossos bens, sabendo que vós tendes no céu uma possessão melhor e duradoura.

³⁵ So, you-should_not_cast-off/away the all-say-ia of{you}, the-which is-having large give-wage-off/away-ia/remuneration/recompense,

³⁵ Não lanceis fora a vossa confiança, a qual tem uma grande recompensa.

³⁶ for you-are-having need of{remain-under-ance/perseverance}, in-which-place, do[ing] the will-effect of{the God}, you-may-attend-ize-selves the message-upon-ia/declaration,

³⁶ Porque necessitais de paciência, para que, depois de haverdes feito a vontade de Deus, alcanceis a promessa.

³⁷ for still "little as-much-as, as-much-as," the "being-come will-arrive and will_not_time-ize[i.e. take his time]."

³⁷ Porque por mais um pouco de tempo, aquele que há de vir virá, e não tardará.

³⁸ Moreover, the just will-be-alive out of{faith}, and "if-supposing he-may-send-under/draw-back/reduce/restrict-self, the life of{me} is_not_well-esteeming in to{same}."

³⁸ Ora, o justo viverá pela fé; mas se algum homem recuar, a minha alma não terá prazer nele.

³⁹ Moreover, we are_not_being of{[the] under-sent/drawn-back/reduced/restricted[noun]} into destruction-off/away-ia; contrariwise, of{faith} into acquisition/possession/preservation of{life}.

³⁹ Nós, porém, não somos daqueles que recuam para a perdição, mas daqueles que creem para a salvação da alma.
