The Peschito Syriac New Testament (ETHERIDGE) vs VC
1 JAKUB, a servant of Aloha and of our Lord Jeshu Meshiha, unto the twelve tribes who are dispersed among the nations: Peace.
1 Tiago, servo de Deus e do Senhor Jesus Cristo, às doze tribos da dispersão, saúde!
2 All joy shall be to you, my brethren, when you shall have entered into temptations many and various.
2 Considerai que é suma alegria, meus irmãos, quando passais por diversas provações,
3 For you know that the proving of faith maketh you to possess patience;
3 sabendo que a prova da vossa fé produz a paciência.
4 but to patience let there be a perfect work, that you may be complete and perfected, and in nothing be deficient.
4 Mas é preciso que a paciência efetue a sua obra, a fim de serdes perfeitos e íntegros, sem fraqueza alguma.
5 If any of you be deficient in wisdom, let him ask of Aloha, who giveth to all expansively, and upbraideth not, and it is given to him.
5 Se alguém de vós necessita de sabedoria, peça-a a Deus - que a todos dá liberalmente, com simplicidade e sem recriminação - e ser-lhe-á dada.
6 But let him ask in faith, not wavering. For he who wavereth is like the waves of the sea which the wind disturbeth.
6 Mas peça-a com fé, sem nenhuma vacilação, porque o homem que vacila assemelha-se à onda do mar, levantada pelo vento e agitada de um lado para o outro.
7 And let not that man expect to receive any thing from the Lord,
7 Não pense, portanto, tal homem que alcançará alguma coisa do Senhor,
8 who is divided in his mind, and disturbed in all his ways.
8 pois é um homem irresoluto, inconstante em todo o seu proceder.
9 But let the humble brother glory in his exaltation,
9 Mas que os irmãos humildes se gloriem de sua elevação;
10 and the rich in his humility; for as the flower of an herb, so he passeth.
10 os ricos, pelo contrário, de sua humilhação, porque passarão como a flor dos campos.
11 For the sun ariseth in his heat, and drieth the herb, and the flower of it falleth, and the beauty of its appearance perisheth; so also the rich withereth in his reverses.
11 Desponta o sol com ardor, seca a erva, cai sua flor e perde a beleza do seu aspecto. Assim murcha também o rico em suas empresas.
12 Blessed the man who endureth temptations: for when he hath been proved he shall receive the crown of life, which Aloha hath promised unto them who love him.
12 Feliz o homem que suporta a tentação. Porque, depois de sofrer a provação, receberá a coroa da vida que Deus prometeu aos que o amam.
13 Let no man say, when he is tempted, From Aloha I am tempted; for Aloha is not tempted with evils, and he no man tempteth.
13 Ninguém, quando for tentado, diga: É Deus quem me tenta. Deus é inacessível ao mal e não tenta a ninguém.
14 But each man from his concupiscence tempteth himself, and desireth, and is drawn away.
14 Cada um é tentado pela sua própria concupiscência, que o atrai e alicia.
15 And this desire conceiveth and beareth sin; and sin, when it is perfected, beareth death.
15 A concupiscência, depois de conceber, dá à luz o pecado; e o pecado, uma vez consumado, gera a morte.
16 Do not err, my beloved brethren;
16 Não vos iludais, pois, irmãos meus muito amados.
17 every good gift and perfect from above descendeth, from the Father of lights, with whom is no alteration, nor the shadow of vicissitude.
17 Toda dádiva boa e todo dom perfeito vêm de cima: descem do Pai das luzes, no qual não há mudança, nem mesmo aparência de instabilidade.
18 He willed, and begat us by the word of truth, that we might be the first-ones of his creatures.
18 Por sua vontade é que nos gerou pela palavra da verdade, a fim de que sejamos como que as primícias das suas criaturas.
19 And you, my beloved brethren, let every one of you be swift to hear, and slow to speak, and slow to be angry;
19 Já o sabeis, meus diletíssimos irmãos: todo homem deve ser pronto para ouvir, porém tardo para falar e tardo para se irar;
20 for the wrath of man the righteousness of Aloha worketh not.
20 porque a ira do homem não cumpre a justiça de Deus.
21 Wherefore, remove from you all impurity and the abounding of wickedness, and with meekness receive the word which is engrafted in our nature, which is able to save your souls.
21 Rejeitai, pois, toda impureza e todo vestígio de malícia e recebei com mansidão a palavra em vós semeada, que pode salvar as vossas almas.
22 BUT be doers of the word, and not hearers only, neither deceive yourselves.
22 Sede cumpridores da palavra e não apenas ouvintes; isto equivaleria a vos enganardes a vós mesmos.
23 For if a man be a hearer of the word and not a doer of it, this (man) is like one who vieweth his face in a mirror;
23 Aquele que escuta a palavra sem a realizar assemelha-se a alguém que contempla num espelho a fisionomia que a natureza lhe deu:
24 for he seeth himself and passeth, and hath forgotten what (manner of person) he was.
24 contempla-se e, mal sai dali, esquece-se de como era.
25 But every one who looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he is not a hearer of the hearing of forgetfulness, but a doer of works; and this shall be blessed in his work.
25 Mas aquele que procura meditar com atenção a lei perfeita da liberdade e nela persevera - não como ouvinte que facilmente se esquece, mas como cumpridor fiel do preceito -, este será feliz no seu proceder.
26 And if a man thinketh that he serveth Aloha, and holdeth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, of this man his service is vain.
26 Se alguém pensa ser piedoso, mas não refreia a sua língua e engana o seu coração, então é vã a sua religião.
27 For the service which is pure and true before Aloha the Father, is this, to visit the orphans and widows in their afflictions, and that a man keep himself from the world without blemish.
27 A religião pura e sem mácula aos olhos de Deus e nosso Pai é esta: visitar os órfãos e as viúvas nas suas aflições, e conservar-se puro da corrupção deste mundo.
