1 AFTER these there was a feast of the Jihudoyee, and Jeshu went up to Urishlem.
1 Depois disso, houve uma festa dos judeus, e Jesus subiu a Jerusalém.
2 Now there was there in Urishlem a certain place of ablution, which was called in Hebrew Bethchesda, and having in it five porticoes.
2 Há em Jerusalém, junto à porta das Ovelhas, um tanque, chamado em hebraico Betesda, que tem cinco pórticos.
3 And in these were many infirm people, blind and lame and withered, awaiting the moving of the waters.
3 Nestes pórticos jazia um grande número de enfermos, de cegos, de coxos e de paralíticos, que esperavam o movimento da água.
4 For an angel at times descended to the pool and moved the waters; and he who first descended after the movement of the waters was healed of whatever disease he had.
4 {Pois de tempos em tempos um anjo do Senhor descia ao tanque e a água se punha em movimento. E o primeiro que entrasse no tanque, depois da agitação da água, ficava curado de qualquer doença que tivesse.}
5 But a certain man was there who for thirtyand-eight years had been in a disease.
5 Estava ali um homem enfermo havia trinta e oito anos.
6 Jeshu saw this (man) as he lay, and knew that for a long time he had (been thus), and said to him, Art thou willing to be healed?
6 Vendo-o deitado e sabendo que já havia muito tempo que estava enfermo, perguntou-lhe Jesus: Queres ficar curado?
7 The diseased man answered and said, Yes, my Lord; but I have no man who, when the waters are moved, shall cast me into the pool: but while I am coming, another before me descendeth.
7 O enfermo respondeu-lhe: Senhor, não tenho ninguém que me ponha no tanque, quando a água é agitada; enquanto vou, já outro desceu antes de mim.
8 Jeshu saith to him, Arise, take up thy bed, and walk.
8 Ordenou-lhe Jesus: Levanta-te, toma o teu leito e anda.
9 And in the instant that man was healed, and, arising, he took up his bed, and walked: and that day was the shabath.
9 No mesmo instante, aquele homem ficou curado, tomou o seu leito e foi andando. Ora, aquele dia era sábado.
10 And the Jihudoyee said to him who had been healed, This is the shabath: it is not lawful for thee to carry thy bed.
10 E os judeus diziam ao homem curado: E sábado, não te é permitido carregar o teu leito.
11 But he answered and said to them, He who made me whole, he said to me, Take up thy bed, and walk.
11 Respondeu-lhes ele: Aquele que me curou disse: Toma o teu leito e anda.
12 And they said to him, What man is this who told thee to take up thy bed, and walk?
12 Perguntaram-lhe eles: Quem é o homem que te disse: Toma o teu leito e anda?
13 But he who had been healed knew not who it was; for Jeshu had retired among the great multitude which was in that place.
13 O que havia sido curado, porém, não sabia quem era, porque Jesus se havia retirado da multidão que estava naquele lugar.
14 After a time Jeshu found him in the temple, and said to him, Behold, thou art healed: sin not again, lest there be to thee that which is worse than the first.
14 Mais tarde, Jesus o achou no templo e lhe disse: Eis que ficaste são; já não peques, para não te acontecer coisa pior.
15 And that man went away, and told the Jihudoyee, that it was Jeshu who had healed him.
15 Aquele homem foi então contar aos judeus que fora Jesus quem o havia curado.
16 On account of this the Jihudoyee persecuted Jeshu, and sought to kill him, because these things he had done on the shabath.
16 Por esse motivo, os judeus perseguiam Jesus, porque fazia esses milagres no dia de sábado.
17 But he, Jeshu, said to them, My Father until now worketh, I also work.
17 Mas ele lhes disse: Meu Pai continua agindo até agora, e eu ajo também.
18 But on this account the more sought the Jihudoyee to kill him, not only because he had loosed the shabath, but also that of Aloha he had said that he was his Father, and had made himself equal with Aloha.
18 Por esta razão os judeus, com maior ardor, procuravam tirar-lhe a vida, porque não somente violava o repouso do sábado, mas afirmava ainda que Deus era seu Pai e se fazia igual a Deus.
19 BUT Jeshu answered and said to them, Amen, amen, I say to you, The Son cannot do any thing from the will of himself, but that which he seeth the Father do.
19 Jesus tomou a palavra e disse-lhes: Em verdade, em verdade vos digo: o Filho de si mesmo não pode fazer coisa alguma; ele só faz o que vê fazer o Pai; e tudo o que o Pai faz, o faz também semelhantemente o Filho.
20 For those which the Father doeth, these also the Son likewise doeth. For the Father loveth the Son, and every thing that he doeth he showeth him; and greater than these works he showeth him, that you may wonder.
20 Pois o Pai ama o Filho e mostra-lhe tudo o que faz; e maiores obras do que esta lhe mostrará, para que fiqueis admirados.
21 For as the Father raiseth the dead, and quickeneth, so also the Son quickeneth those whom he willeth.
21 Com efeito, como o Pai ressuscita os mortos e lhes dá vida, assim também o Filho dá vida a quem ele quer.
22 For the Father judgeth no man, but all judgment he hath given to the Son;
22 Assim também o Pai não julga ninguém, mas entregou todo o julgamento ao Filho.
23 that all men should honour the Son, as they honour the Father. He who honoureth not the Son, honoureth not the Father who sent him.
23 Desse modo, todos honrarão o Filho, bem como honram o Pai. Aquele que não honra o Filho, não honra o Pai, que o enviou.
24 Amen, amen, I say to you, He who heareth my word and believeth on him who sent me, hath the life that is eternal, and into condemnation he cometh not, but hath passed from death unto life.
24 Em verdade, em verdade vos digo: quem ouve a minha palavra e crê naquele que me enviou tem a vida eterna e não incorre na condenação, mas passou da morte para a vida.
25 Amen, amen, I say to you, That the hour cometh and also now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of Aloha; and they who hear shall live
25 Em verdade, em verdade vos digo: vem a hora, e já está aí, em que os mortos ouvirão a voz do Filho de Deus; e os que a ouvirem viverão.
26 For as the Father hath life in his person, so hath he given also to the Son to have life in his person,
26 Pois como o Pai tem a vida em si mesmo, assim também deu ao Filho o ter a vida em si mesmo,
27 and hath empowered him also to execute judgment. Because he is the Son of man,
27 e lhe conferiu o poder de julgar, porque é o Filho do Homem.
28 marvel not at this; for the hour cometh when all they who are in the sepulchres shall hear his voice,
28 Não vos maravilheis disso, porque vem a hora em que todos os que se acham nos sepulcros sairão deles ao som de sua voz:
29 and shall come forth; they who have done good unto the resurrection of life, and they who have done evil unto the resurrection of condemnation.
29 os que praticaram o bem irão para a ressurreição da vida, e aqueles que praticaram o mal ressuscitarão para serem condenados.
30 I CANNOT of the will of myself do any thing; but as I hear I judge, and my judgment is just; for I seek not my will, but the will of Him who sent me.
30 De mim mesmo não posso fazer coisa alguma. Julgo como ouço; e o meu julgamento é justo, porque não busco a minha vontade, mas a vontade daquele que me enviou.
31 If I should witness concerning myself, my testimony would not be (regarded as) truth:
31 Se eu der testemunho de mim mesmo, não é digno de fé o meu testemunho.
32 there is another who witnesseth of me, and I know that true is his testimony which he hath witnessed of me.
32 Há outro que dá testemunho de mim, e sei que é digno de fé o testemunho que dá de mim.
33 You sent to Juchanon, and he witnessed of the truth.
33 Vós enviastes mensageiros a João, e ele deu testemunho da verdade.
34 But I do not from man (only) receive testimony. But these (things) speak I that you may be saved.
34 Não invoco, porém, o testemunho de homem algum. Digo-vos essas coisas, a fim de que sejais salvos.
35 He was a lamp that burneth and shineth, and you were willing to glory for the hour in his light.
35 João era uma lâmpada que arde e ilumina; vós, porém, só por uma hora quisestes alegrar-vos com a sua luz.
36 But I have a testimony which is greater than that of Juchanon; for the works that the Father hath given me to accomplish, these works that I do testify of me that the Father hath sent me.
36 Mas tenho maior testemunho do que o de João, porque as obras que meu Pai me deu para executar - essas mesmas obras que faço - testemunham a meu respeito que o Pai me enviou.
37 And the Father who hath sent me, he testifieth of me: but his voice you have never heard, nor his appearance seen.
37 E o Pai que me enviou, ele mesmo deu testemunho de mim. Vós nunca ouvistes a sua voz nem vistes a sua face...
38 And his word abideth not in you, because in Him whom he hath sent you do not believe.
38 e não tendes a sua palavra permanente em vós, pois não credes naquele que ele enviou.
39 Investigate the scriptures; for in them you think you have the life that is eternal, and they testify of me.
39 Vós perscrutais as Escrituras, julgando encontrar nelas a vida eterna. Pois bem! São elas mesmas que dão testemunho de mim.
40 And you will not come to me that the life that is eternal you might have.
40 E vós não quereis vir a mim para que tenhais a vida...
41 Glory from the sons of men I receive not.
41 Não espero a minha glória dos homens,
42 But I know you, that the love of Aloha is not in you.
42 mas sei que não tendes em vós o amor de Deus.
43 I have come in the name of my Father, and you have not received me.
43 Vim em nome de meu Pai, mas não me recebeis. Se vier outro em seu próprio nome, haveis de recebê-lo...
44 If another should come in his own name, him you would receive. How can you believe, who glory one from another are receiving, and the glory which is from one, Aloha, you seek not?
44 Como podeis crer, vós que recebeis a glória uns dos outros, e não buscais a glória que é só de Deus?
45 How think you that I will accuse you before the Father? There is one who accuseth you, Musha himself, in whom you hope.
45 Não julgueis que vos hei de acusar diante do Pai; há quem vos acusa: Moisés, no qual colocais a vossa esperança.
46 For if in Musha you had believed, you would also have believed in me; for Musha of me hath written.
46 Pois se crêsseis em Moisés, certamente creríeis em mim, porque ele escreveu a meu respeito.
47 But if his writings you believe not, how my words will you believe?
47 Mas, se não acreditais nos seus escritos, como acreditareis nas minhas palavras?
