The Peschito Syriac New Testament (ETHERIDGE) vs NVI
1 AFTER these there was a feast of the Jihudoyee, and Jeshu went up to Urishlem.
1 Algum tempo depois, Jesus subiu a Jerusalém para uma festa dos judeus.
2 Now there was there in Urishlem a certain place of ablution, which was called in Hebrew Bethchesda, and having in it five porticoes.
2 Há em Jerusalém, perto da porta das Ovelhas, um tanque que, em aramaico, é chamado Betesda, tendo cinco entradas em volta.
3 And in these were many infirm people, blind and lame and withered, awaiting the moving of the waters.
3 Ali costumava ficar grande número de pessoas doentes e inválidas: cegos, mancos e paralíticos. Eles esperavam um movimento nas águas.
4 For an angel at times descended to the pool and moved the waters; and he who first descended after the movement of the waters was healed of whatever disease he had.
4 De vez em quando descia um anjo do Senhor e agitava as águas. O primeiro que entrasse no tanque, depois de agitada as águas, era curado de qualquer doença que tivesse.
5 But a certain man was there who for thirtyand-eight years had been in a disease.
5 Um dos que estavam ali era paralítico fazia trinta e oito anos.
6 Jeshu saw this (man) as he lay, and knew that for a long time he had (been thus), and said to him, Art thou willing to be healed?
6 Quando o viu deitado e soube que ele vivia naquele estado durante tanto tempo, Jesus lhe perguntou: "Você quer ser curado? "
7 The diseased man answered and said, Yes, my Lord; but I have no man who, when the waters are moved, shall cast me into the pool: but while I am coming, another before me descendeth.
7 Disse o paralítico: "Senhor, não tenho ninguém que me ajude a entrar no tanque quando a água é agitada. Enquanto estou tentando entrar, outro chega antes de mim".
8 Jeshu saith to him, Arise, take up thy bed, and walk.
8 Então Jesus lhe disse: "Levante-se! Pegue a sua maca e ande".
9 And in the instant that man was healed, and, arising, he took up his bed, and walked: and that day was the shabath.
9 Imediatamente o homem ficou curado, pegou a maca e começou a andar. Isso aconteceu num sábado,
10 And the Jihudoyee said to him who had been healed, This is the shabath: it is not lawful for thee to carry thy bed.
10 e, por essa razão, os judeus disseram ao homem que havia sido curado: "Hoje é sábado, não lhe é permitido carregar a maca".
11 But he answered and said to them, He who made me whole, he said to me, Take up thy bed, and walk.
11 Mas ele respondeu: "O homem que me curou me disse: ‘Pegue a sua maca e ande’ ".
12 And they said to him, What man is this who told thee to take up thy bed, and walk?
12 Então lhe perguntaram: "Quem é esse homem que lhe mandar pegar a maca e andar? "
13 But he who had been healed knew not who it was; for Jeshu had retired among the great multitude which was in that place.
13 O homem que fora curado não tinha idéia de quem era ele, pois Jesus havia desaparecido no meio da multidão.
14 After a time Jeshu found him in the temple, and said to him, Behold, thou art healed: sin not again, lest there be to thee that which is worse than the first.
14 Mais tarde Jesus o encontrou no templo e lhe disse: "Olhe, você está curado. Não volte a pecar, para que algo pior não lhe aconteça".
15 And that man went away, and told the Jihudoyee, that it was Jeshu who had healed him.
15 O homem foi contar aos judeus que fora Jesus quem o tinha curado.
16 On account of this the Jihudoyee persecuted Jeshu, and sought to kill him, because these things he had done on the shabath.
16 Então os judeus passaram a perseguir Jesus, porque ele estava fazendo essas coisas no sábado.
17 But he, Jeshu, said to them, My Father until now worketh, I also work.
17 Disse-lhes Jesus: "Meu Pai continua trabalhando até hoje, e eu também estou trabalhando".
18 But on this account the more sought the Jihudoyee to kill him, not only because he had loosed the shabath, but also that of Aloha he had said that he was his Father, and had made himself equal with Aloha.
18 Por essa razão, os judeus mais ainda queriam matá-lo, pois não somente estava violando o sábado, mas também estava até mesmo dizendo que Deus era seu próprio Pai, igualando-se a Deus.
19 BUT Jeshu answered and said to them, Amen, amen, I say to you, The Son cannot do any thing from the will of himself, but that which he seeth the Father do.
19 Jesus lhes deu esta resposta: "Eu lhes digo verdadeiramente que o Filho não pode fazer nada de si mesmo; só pode fazer o que vê o Pai fazer, porque o que o Pai faz o Filho também faz.
20 For those which the Father doeth, these also the Son likewise doeth. For the Father loveth the Son, and every thing that he doeth he showeth him; and greater than these works he showeth him, that you may wonder.
20 Pois o Pai ama ao Filho e lhe mostra tudo o que faz. Sim, para admiração de vocês, ele lhe mostrará obras ainda maiores do que estas.
21 For as the Father raiseth the dead, and quickeneth, so also the Son quickeneth those whom he willeth.
21 Pois, da mesma forma que o Pai ressuscita os mortos e lhes dá vida, o Filho também dá vida a quem ele quer dá-la.
22 For the Father judgeth no man, but all judgment he hath given to the Son;
22 Além disso, o Pai a ninguém julga, mas confiou todo julgamento ao Filho,
23 that all men should honour the Son, as they honour the Father. He who honoureth not the Son, honoureth not the Father who sent him.
23 para que todos honrem o Filho como honram o Pai. Aquele que não honra o Filho, também não honra o Pai que o enviou.
24 Amen, amen, I say to you, He who heareth my word and believeth on him who sent me, hath the life that is eternal, and into condemnation he cometh not, but hath passed from death unto life.
24 "Eu lhes asseguro: Quem ouve a minha palavra e crê naquele que me enviou, tem a vida eterna e não será condenado, mas já passou da morte para a vida.
25 Amen, amen, I say to you, That the hour cometh and also now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of Aloha; and they who hear shall live
25 Eu lhes afirmo que está chegando a hora, e já chegou, em que os mortos ouvirão a voz do Filho de Deus, e aqueles que a ouvirem, viverão.
26 For as the Father hath life in his person, so hath he given also to the Son to have life in his person,
26 Pois, da mesma forma como o Pai tem vida em si mesmo, ele concedeu ao Filho ter vida em si mesmo.
27 and hath empowered him also to execute judgment. Because he is the Son of man,
27 E deu-lhe autoridade para julgar, porque é o Filho do homem.
28 marvel not at this; for the hour cometh when all they who are in the sepulchres shall hear his voice,
28 "Não fiquem admirados com isto, pois está chegando a hora em que todos os que estiverem nos túmulos ouvirão a sua voz
29 and shall come forth; they who have done good unto the resurrection of life, and they who have done evil unto the resurrection of condemnation.
29 e sairão; os que fizeram o bem ressuscitarão para a vida, e os que fizeram o mal ressuscitarão para serem condenados.
30 I CANNOT of the will of myself do any thing; but as I hear I judge, and my judgment is just; for I seek not my will, but the will of Him who sent me.
30 Por mim mesmo, nada posso fazer; eu julgo apenas conforme ouço, e o meu julgamento é justo, pois não procuro agradar a mim mesmo, mas àquele que me enviou".
31 If I should witness concerning myself, my testimony would not be (regarded as) truth:
31 "Se testifico acerca de mim mesmo, o meu testemunho não é válido.
32 there is another who witnesseth of me, and I know that true is his testimony which he hath witnessed of me.
32 Há outro que testemunha em meu favor, e sei que o seu testemunho a meu respeito é válido.
33 You sent to Juchanon, and he witnessed of the truth.
33 "Vocês enviaram representantes a João, e ele testemunhou da verdade.
34 But I do not from man (only) receive testimony. But these (things) speak I that you may be saved.
34 Não que eu busque testemunho humano, mas menciono isso para que vocês sejam salvos.
35 He was a lamp that burneth and shineth, and you were willing to glory for the hour in his light.
35 João era uma candeia que queimava e irradiava luz, e durante certo tempo vocês quiseram alegrar-se com a sua luz.
36 But I have a testimony which is greater than that of Juchanon; for the works that the Father hath given me to accomplish, these works that I do testify of me that the Father hath sent me.
36 "Eu tenho um testemunho maior que o de João; a própria obra que o Pai me deu para concluir, e que estou realizando, testemunha que o Pai me enviou.
37 And the Father who hath sent me, he testifieth of me: but his voice you have never heard, nor his appearance seen.
37 E o Pai que me enviou, ele mesmo testemunhou a meu respeito. Vocês nunca ouviram a sua voz, nem viram a sua forma,
38 And his word abideth not in you, because in Him whom he hath sent you do not believe.
38 nem a sua palavra habita em vocês, pois não crêem naquele que ele enviou.
39 Investigate the scriptures; for in them you think you have the life that is eternal, and they testify of me.
39 Vocês estudam cuidadosamente as Escrituras, porque pensam que nelas vocês têm a vida eterna. E são as Escrituras que testemunham a meu respeito;
40 And you will not come to me that the life that is eternal you might have.
40 contudo, vocês não querem vir a mim para terem vida.
41 Glory from the sons of men I receive not.
41 "Eu não aceito glória dos homens,
42 But I know you, that the love of Aloha is not in you.
42 mas conheço vocês. Sei que vocês não têm o amor de Deus.
43 I have come in the name of my Father, and you have not received me.
43 Eu vim em nome de meu Pai, e vocês não me aceitaram; mas, se outro vier em seu próprio nome, vocês o aceitarão.
44 If another should come in his own name, him you would receive. How can you believe, who glory one from another are receiving, and the glory which is from one, Aloha, you seek not?
44 Como vocês podem crer, se aceitam glória uns dos outros, mas não procuram a glória que vem do Deus único?
45 How think you that I will accuse you before the Father? There is one who accuseth you, Musha himself, in whom you hope.
45 "Contudo, não pensem que eu os acusarei perante o Pai. Quem os acusa é Moisés, em quem estão as suas esperanças.
46 For if in Musha you had believed, you would also have believed in me; for Musha of me hath written.
46 Se vocês cressem em Moisés, creriam em mim, pois ele escreveu a meu respeito.
47 But if his writings you believe not, how my words will you believe?
47 Visto, porém, que não crêem no que ele escreveu, como crerão no que eu digo? "
