1 IF, therefore, you have consolation in the Meshiha, and if there be comfort in love, and if communion of the Spirit, and if compassions and mercies,
1 Há alguma motivação por estar em Cristo? Há alguma consolação que vem do amor? Há alguma comunhão no Espírito? Há alguma compaixão e afeição?
2 complete my gladness by having one sentiment and one love, and one soul and one mind.
2 Então completem minha alegria concordando sinceramente uns com os outros, amando-se mutuamente e trabalhando juntos com a mesma forma de pensar e um só propósito.
3 And do nothing in contention or vainglorying, but in meekness of mind let a man consider his neighbour as better than himself.
3 Não sejam egoístas, nem tentem impressionar ninguém. Sejam humildes e considerem os outros mais importantes que vocês.
4 And let no one care for himself (only), but every one for his neighbour also.
4 Não procurem apenas os próprios interesses, mas preocupem-se também com os interesses alheios.
5 And feel this in yourselves, which Jeshu the Meshiha (did) also:
5 Tenham a mesma atitude demonstrada por Cristo Jesus.
6 who, when he was in the form of Aloha, considered this not to be robbery, (this, namely,) that he was the co-equal of Aloha:
6 Embora sendo Deus, não considerou que ser igual a Deus fosse algo a que devesse se apegar.
7 yet emptied he himself, and took the form of a servant, and was made in the form of men;
7 Em vez disso, esvaziou a si mesmo; assumiu a posição de escravo e nasceu como ser humano. Quando veio em forma humana,
8 and in fashion was found as a man, and humbled himself, and was obedient unto death, but the death of the cross.
8 humilhou-se e foi obediente até a morte, e morte de cruz.
9 Wherefore also Aloha greatly exalted him, and gave him a name that is more excellent than all names,
9 Por isso Deus o elevou ao lugar de mais alta honra e lhe deu o nome que está acima de todos os nomes,
10 that at the name of Jeshu every knee should kneel, of those in heaven, and on earth, and under the earth;
10 para que, ao nome de Jesus, todo joelho se dobre, nos céus, na terra e debaixo da terra,
11 and that every tongue should confess that Jeshu the Meshiha is the Lord, to the glory of Aloha his Father.
11 e toda língua declare que Jesus Cristo é Senhor, para a glória de Deus, o Pai.
12 WHEREFORE, my beloved, as you have all time obeyed, not while I am near you only, but now that I am far from you, the more with fear and trembling work the work of your salvation;
12 Quando eu estava aí, meus amados, vocês sempre seguiam minhas instruções. Agora que estou longe, é ainda mais importante que o façam. Trabalhem com afinco a sua salvação, obedecendo a Deus com reverência e temor.
13 for Aloha himself effectuates in you also to will, also to do, the thing which you will.
13 Pois Deus está agindo em vocês, dando-lhes o desejo e o poder de realizarem aquilo que é do agrado dele.
14 Do every thing without murmuring and without division;
14 Façam tudo sem queixas nem discussões,
15 that you may be perfect and without spot, as the pure children of Aloha, who dwell in a generation depraved and perverse; and be manifest among them as luminaries in the world,
15 de modo que ninguém possa acusá-los. Levem uma vida pura e inculpável como filhos de Deus, brilhando como luzes resplandecentes num mundo cheio de gente corrompida e perversa.
16 to be unto them for a place of salvation, for my exultation in the day of the Meshiha, that I may not have run in vain, nor laboured to no purpose.
16 Apeguem-se firmemente à mensagem da vida. Então, no dia em que Cristo voltar, me orgulharei de saber que não participei da corrida em vão e que não trabalhei inutilmente.
17 But, also, offered on the sacrifice and service of your faith, I am glad, and rejoice with you all;
17 Contudo, me alegrarei mesmo se perder a vida, entregando-a a Deus como oferta derramada, da mesma forma que o serviço fiel de vocês é uma oferta a Deus. E quero que todos vocês participem dessa alegria.
18 so also you be glad and rejoice with me.
18 Sim, alegrem-se, e eu me alegrarei com vocês.
19 But I hope in our Lord Jeshu to send Timotheos to you soon, that I also may have quietness when I learn concerning you.
19 Se for da vontade do Senhor Jesus, espero enviar-lhes Timóteo em breve para visitá-los. Assim ele poderá me animar, contando-me notícias de vocês.
20 For I have no other who is so as my (own) soul, who will diligently take care for yours.
20 Não tenho ninguém que se preocupe sinceramente com o bem-estar de vocês como Timóteo.
21 For all are seeking what is theirs, and not what is of Jeshu Meshiha.
21 Todos os outros se preocupam apenas consigo mesmos, e não com o que é importante para Jesus Cristo.
22 But the proof of this you know, that as a son with his father, so hath he wrought with me in the gospel.
22 Mas vocês sabem que Timóteo provou seu valor. Como um filho junto ao pai, ele tem servido ao meu lado na proclamação das boas-novas.
23 Him, therefore, I hope to send to you speedily, when I shall have seen what with me.
23 Espero enviá-lo assim que souber o que me acontecerá aqui.
24 And I confide on my Lord, that I also speedily shall come unto you.
24 E tenho confiança no Senhor de que, em breve, eu mesmo irei vê-los.
25 But now the matter hath pressed me to send to you the brother Epaphroditos, who is a helper and labourer with me, but your messenger and minister to my necessity;
25 Enquanto isso, penso que devo enviar-lhes de volta Epafrodito. Ele é um verdadeiro irmão, colaborador e companheiro de lutas, que também foi mensageiro de vocês para me ajudar em minha necessidade.
26 for he desired to see you all, and was anxious, because he knew that you had heard that he was sick.
26 Ele deseja muito vê-los e está angustiado porque vocês souberam que ele esteve doente.
27 Yes, he was sick, unto death; but Aloha had mercy upon him; but not upon him only, but upon me also, lest I should have sorrow upon sorrow.
27 De fato, ficou enfermo e quase morreu. Mas Deus teve misericórdia dele, e também de mim, para que eu não tivesse uma tristeza atrás da outra.
28 Urgently, therefore, have I sent him to you, that when you have seen him again you may rejoice, and that I may have a little breathing.
28 Por isso, estou ainda mais ansioso para enviá-lo de volta, pois sei que vocês se alegrarão em vê-lo, e eu não ficarei tão preocupado com vocês.
29 Receive him, then, in the Lord with all joy; and those who are such, hold in estimation:
29 Recebam-no com grande alegria no Senhor e deem-lhe a honra que ele merece,
30 because for the work of the Meshiha he had come nigh unto death, and was disregardful of his life, that he might accomplish that which you had wanted in the service which concerned me.
30 pois arriscou a vida pela obra de Cristo e esteve a ponto de morrer enquanto fazia por mim o que vocês mesmos não podiam fazer.
