1 To the overcomer, lose thou not the psalm of the song of Asaph. God, we shall acknowledge to thee, we shall acknowledge; and we shall inwardly call thy name. We shall tell thy marvels; (\+em For the choirmaster, to the tune of ‘Do not destroy’, a psalm, yea, a song by Asaph\+em*. God, we shall give thee thanks, we shall give thee thanks; and we shall call on thy name. We shall tell of all thy marvellous deeds.)
1 Ao mestre de canto. Não destruas. Salmo de Asaf. Cântico. Nós vos louvamos, Senhor, nós vos louvamos; glorificamos vosso nome e anunciamos vossas maravilhas.
2 when I shall take (hold of the) time, I shall deem (with) rightfulnesses. (\+em And God said\+em*, I shall take hold of the time; and I shall judge with righteousness or with justice.)
2 No tempo que fixei, julgarei o justo juízo.
3 The earth is melted, and all that dwell therein; I confirmed the pillars thereof. (The earth was shaken, and all who live on it; but I made its pillars firm.)
3 Vacile, embora, a terra com todos os seus habitantes, fui eu quem deu firmeza às suas colunas.
4 I said to wicked men (or I said to the wicked), Do not ye do wickedly; and to trespassers, Do not ye enhance the horn.
4 Digo aos arrogantes: Não sejais insolentes; aos ímpios: Não levanteis vossa fronte,
5 Do not ye raise on high your horn; do not ye speak wickedness against God. (Do not ye raise up your horn on high; do not ye speak wickedly, \+em or proudly\+em*, against God.)
5 não ergais contra o Altíssimo a vossa cabeça, deixai de falar a Deus com tanta insolência.
6 For (promotion cometh) neither from the east, neither from the west, neither from desert hills; (For judgement cometh not from the east, nor from the west, nor from the hills in the wilderness;)
6 Não é do oriente, nem do ocidente, nem do deserto, nem das montanhas que vem a salvação.
7 for God is the judge. He meeketh this man, and enhanceth him; (for God is the judge. He humbleth this \+em one\+em*, and raiseth up that \+em one\+em*;)
7 Mas Deus é o juiz; a um ele abate, a outro exalta.
8 for a cup of clean wine, full of meddling, is in the hand of the Lord, (or for there \+em (is)\+em* a cup of clear wine, full of mixing, \+em (or of mixture)\+em*, in the Lord’s hand). And he bowed (some) of this into that; nevertheless the dregs thereof is not diminished, either made less, (for) all [the] sinners of [the] earth shall drink thereof.
8 Há na mão do Senhor uma taça de vinho espumante e aromático. Dela dá de beber. E até as fezes hão de esgotá-la; hão de sorvê-la os ímpios todos da terra.
9 Forsooth I shall tell into the world; I shall sing to God of Jacob. (And I shall tell this out forever; I shall sing to the God of Jacob.)
9 Eu, porém, exultarei para sempre, salmodiarei ao Deus de Jacó.
10 And I shall break all the horns of sinners; and the horns of the just man shall be enhanced. (And I shall break all the horns of the sinners; but the horns of the righteous shall be raised up.)
10 Abaterei todas as potências dos ímpios, enquanto o poder dos justos será exaltado.
