1 The song of degrees. (\+em A song for steps of ascending\+em*.) Lord, I cried to thee from the depths;
1 Das profundezas clamo a ti, ó Senhor.
2 Lord, hear thou my voice. Thine ears be made attentive into the voice of my beseeching. (Lord, hear my voice. Let thy ears be made attentive to the words of my plea.)
2 Senhor, escuta a minha voz; estejam os teus ouvidos atentos à voz das minhas súplicas.
3 Lord, if thou keepest wickednesses; Lord, who shall sustain, or abide? (Lord, if thou keepest a record of our wickednesses; then Lord, who shall survive? or then Lord, who will not be condemned?)
3 Se tu, Senhor, observares as iniqüidades, Senhor, quem subsistirá?
4 For mercy is at thee; (But there is mercy with thee, and I stand in awe of thee;)
4 Mas contigo está o perdão, para que sejas temido.
5 and, Lord, for thy law I abode thee. My soul sustained in his word; (yea, Lord, I wait for thee. My soul is sustained, and I hope, and I trust, in his word.)
5 Aguardo ao Senhor; a minha alma o aguarda, e espero na sua palavra.
6 my soul hoped in the Lord. From the morrowtide keeping till to the night; (My soul waiteth for the Lord, more eagerly than those who wait for the morning light; yea, \+em more eagerly\+em* than those who stand guard, \+em or be on watch\+em*, until the morning light.)
6 A minha alma anseia pelo Senhor, mais do que os guardas pelo romper da manhã, sim, mais do que os guardas pela manhã.
7 Israel hope in the Lord. For why mercy is at the Lord; and plenteous redemption is at him. (Israel, trust in the Lord. For there \+em is\+em* always love with the Lord; and there \+em is\+em* plentiful redemption with him.)
7 Espera, ó Israel, no Senhor! pois com o Senhor há benignidade, e com ele há copiosa redenção;
8 And he shall again-buy Israel; from all the wickednesses thereof. (And he shall redeem the people of Israel; from all their wickednesses.)
8 e ele remirá a Israel de todas as suas iniqüidades.
