1 And again he entered into Capernaum, after eight days. And it was heard, that he was in an house,
1 Dias depois, entrou Jesus de novo em Cafarnaum, e logo correu que ele estava em casa.
2 and many came together, so that they might not be in the house, nor at the gate. And he spake to them the word.
2 Muitos afluíram para ali, tantos que nem mesmo junto à porta eles achavam lugar; e anunciava-lhes a palavra.
3 And there came to him men that brought a man sick in the palsy, which was borne of four [men]. [And there came to him men bringing or bearing a sick man in palsy, the which was borne of four men.](And there came to him men that brought a man sick with palsy, who was carried by four men.)
3 Alguns foram ter com ele, conduzindo um paralítico, levado por quatro homens.
4 And when they might not bring him to Jesus for the people, they uncovered the roof where he was, and [they] opened it, and they let down the bed in which the sick man in palsy lay.
4 E, não podendo aproximar-se dele, por causa da multidão, descobriram o eirado no ponto correspondente ao em que ele estava e, fazendo uma abertura, baixaram o leito em que jazia o doente.
5 And when Jesus had seen the faith of them, he said to the sick man in palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven to thee.
5 Vendo-lhes a fé, Jesus disse ao paralítico: Filho, os teus pecados estão perdoados.
6 But there were some of the scribes sitting (there), and thinking in their hearts,
6 Mas alguns dos escribas estavam assentados ali e arrazoavam em seu coração:
7 What speaketh he thus? He blasphemeth; who may forgive sins, [no] but God alone? (Why speaketh he thus? He blasphemeth; for who can forgive sins, except God alone?)
7 Por que fala ele deste modo? Isto é blasfêmia! Quem pode perdoar pecados, senão um, que é Deus?
8 And [anon] when Jesus had known this by the Holy Ghost, that they thought so within themselves, he saith to them, What think ye these things in your hearts? (And at once when Jesus had known this by the Holy Spirit, that they thought so within themselves, he said to them, Why think these things in your hearts?)
8 E Jesus, percebendo logo por seu espírito que eles assim arrazoavam, disse-lhes: Por que arrazoais sobre estas coisas em vosso coração?
9 What is lighter (or is easier) to say to the sick man in palsy, Sins be forgiven to thee, or to say, Rise (up), take thy bed, and walk?
9 Qual é mais fácil? Dizer ao paralítico: Estão perdoados os teus pecados, ou dizer: Levanta-te, toma o teu leito e anda?
10 But (so) that ye know that man’s Son hath power in earth (or on the earth) to forgive sins, he said to the sick man in palsy,
10 Ora, para que saibais que o Filho do Homem tem sobre a terra autoridade para perdoar pecados — disse ao paralítico:
11 I say to thee, rise up, take thy bed, and go into thine house.
11 Eu te mando: Levanta-te, toma o teu leito e vai para tua casa.
12 And anon he rose up, and when he had taken the bed, he went before all men, so that all men wondered, and honoured God, and said, For we saw never so. (And at once he rose up, and when he had taken the bed, he went forth before everyone, so that everyone wondered, and worshipped God, and said, For we have never seen anything like this.)
12 Então, ele se levantou e, no mesmo instante, tomando o leito, retirou-se à vista de todos, a ponto de se admirarem todos e darem glória a Deus, dizendo: Jamais vimos coisa assim!
13 And he went out again to the sea, and all the people came to him; and he taught them.
13 De novo, saiu Jesus para junto do mar, e toda a multidão vinha ao seu encontro, e ele os ensinava.
14 And when he passed (by), he saw Levi of Alphaeus sitting at the tollbooth, and he said to him, (Pur)Sue me. And he rose, and (pur)sued him. (And when he passed by, he saw Levi of Alphaeus sitting at the tollbooth, and he said to him, Follow me. And he rose, and followed him.)
14 Quando ia passando, viu a Levi, filho de Alfeu, sentado na coletoria e disse-lhe: Segue-me! Ele se levantou e o seguiu.
15 And it was done, when he sat at the meat in his house, many publicans and sinful men sat together at the meat with Jesus and his disciples; for there were many that followed him. (And it was done, when he sat at a meal in his house, many tax-collectors and sinners sat there at the meal with Jesus and his disciples; for there were many that followed him.)
15 Achando-se Jesus à mesa na casa de Levi, estavam juntamente com ele e com seus discípulos muitos publicanos e pecadores; porque estes eram em grande número e também o seguiam.
16 And (the) scribes and (the) Pharisees seeing, that he ate with publicans and sinful men, said to his disciples, Why eateth and drinketh your master with publicans and sinners? (And the scribes and the Pharisees seeing, that he ate with tax-collectors and sinners, said to his disciples, Why eateth and drinketh your teacher with tax-collectors and sinners?)
16 Os escribas dos fariseus, vendo-o comer em companhia dos pecadores e publicanos, perguntavam aos discípulos dele: Por que come [e bebe] ele com os publicanos e pecadores?
17 When this was heard, Jesus said to them, Whole men have no need to a leech, (no) but they that be evil-at-ease (do), [or \+sls (no)\+sls* but they that have evil \+sls (do)\+sls*], (Healthy men have no need for a physician, only those who have sickness); for I came not to call just men, but sinners.
17 Tendo Jesus ouvido isto, respondeu-lhes: Os sãos não precisam de médico, e sim os doentes; não vim chamar justos, e sim pecadores.
18 And the disciples of John and the Pharisees were fasting; and they came, and said to him, Why fast the disciples of John, and the Pharisees fast, but thy disciples fast not?
18 Ora, os discípulos de João e os fariseus estavam jejuando. Vieram alguns e lhe perguntaram: Por que motivo jejuam os discípulos de João e os dos fariseus, mas os teus discípulos não jejuam?
19 And Jesus said to them, Whether the sons of the spousals [or of the weddings] may fast, as long as the spouse is with them? As long (a) time as they have the spouse with them, they may not fast, (or they cannot fast, or they shall not fast).
19 Respondeu-lhes Jesus: Podem, porventura, jejuar os convidados para o casamento, enquanto o noivo está com eles? Durante o tempo em que estiver presente o noivo, não podem jejuar.
20 But (the) days shall come, when the spouse shall be taken away from them, and then they shall fast in those days.
20 Dias virão, contudo, em que lhes será tirado o noivo; e, nesse tempo, jejuarão.
21 No man seweth a patch of new cloth to an old cloth, else he taketh away the new patch from the old, and a more breaking is made. (No one seweth a patch of new cloth onto an old cloak, because the new patch will tear away from the old, and a bigger hole will be made.)
21 Ninguém costura remendo de pano novo em veste velha; porque o remendo novo tira parte da veste velha, e fica maior a rotura.
22 And no man putteth new wine into old bottles, else the wine shall burst the bottles, and the wine shall be shed out, and the bottles shall perish. But new wine shall be put into new bottles. [And no man putteth new wine into old wine vessels, else the wine shall burst or shall break the wine vessels, and the wine shall be poured out, and the wine vessels shall perish. But new wine oweth \+sls (or ought)\+sls* to be put into new wine vessels.]
22 Ninguém põe vinho novo em odres velhos; do contrário, o vinho romperá os odres; e tanto se perde o vinho como os odres. Mas põe-se vinho novo em odres novos.
23 And it was done again, when the Lord walked in the sabbaths by the corns (or when the Lord walked through a cornfield on the Sabbath), and his disciples began to pass forth [or to go forth], and [to] pluck (the) ears of the corn.
23 Ora, aconteceu atravessar Jesus, em dia de sábado, as searas, e os discípulos, ao passarem, colhiam espigas.
24 And the Pharisees said to him, Lo! what thy disciples do in the sabbaths, that is not leaveful. (And the Pharisees said to him, Behold! what thy disciples do on the Sabbath, that is not lawful.)
24 Advertiram-no os fariseus: Vê! Por que fazem o que não é lícito aos sábados?
25 And he said to them, Read ye never what David did, when he had need, and he hungered, and they that were with him?
25 Mas ele lhes respondeu: Nunca lestes o que fez Davi, quando se viu em necessidade e teve fome, ele e os seus companheiros?
26 How he went into the house of God, under Abiathar, (the) prince of (the) priests, and ate (the) loaves of proposition, [either of setting forth], which it was not leaveful to eat, [no] but to (the) priests alone, and he gave to them that were with him. (How he went into the House of God, under the High Priest Abiathar, and ate the loaves of proposition, or the showbread, which it was not lawful to eat, except for the priests, and he gave some to those who were with him.)
26 Como entrou na Casa de Deus, no tempo do sumo sacerdote Abiatar, e comeu os pães da proposição, os quais não é lícito comer, senão aos sacerdotes, e deu também aos que estavam com ele?
27 And he said to them, The sabbath is made for man, and not man for the sabbath;
27 E acrescentou: O sábado foi estabelecido por causa do homem, e não o homem por causa do sábado;
28 and so man’s Son is Lord also of the sabbath.
28 de sorte que o Filho do Homem é senhor também do sábado.
