1 Forsooth the sons of Israel by their number, the princes of families, the tribunes, and centurions, and prefects, that ministered to the king by their companies of knights, entering in and going out by each month in the year, were sovereigns, each by himself, upon four and twenty thousand. (Now the number of Israelites, that is, the leaders of the families, and the tribunes, and the centurions, and the prefects, who served the king with their companies \+em of horsemen\+em*, coming in and going out each month of the year, was twenty-four thousand in each company, \+em or division\+em*.)
1 São estes os filhos de Israel segundo o seu número, os chefes das famílias e os capitães de milhares e de centenas com os seus oficiais, que serviam o rei em todos os negócios dos turnos que entravam e saíam de mês em mês durante o ano. Cada turno era de vinte e quatro mil.
2 Jashobeam, the son of Zabdiel, was sovereign of the first company in the first month, and under him were four and twenty thousand; (Jashobeam, the son of Zabdiel, was the leader of the first company in the first month, and under him \+em were\+em* twenty-four thousand;)
2 Sobre o primeiro turno do primeiro mês estava Jasobeão, filho de Zabdiel; em seu turno havia vinte e quatro mil.
3 of the sons of Pharez, was the prince of all [the] princes in the host, in the first month. (of the sons of Perez, \+em he was\+em* the leader of all the leaders in the army, in the first month.)
3 Ele era dos filhos de Perez, chefe de todos os capitães dos exércitos para o primeiro mês.
4 Dodai (the) Ahohite had the company of the second month, and after himself he had another man, Mikloth by name, that governed a part of the host of four and twenty thousand. (Dodai the Ahohite led the second company in the second month, and \+em he had\+em* another man, named Mikloth, who helped him govern his division of twenty-four thousand./And Eleazar, the son of Dodai the Ahohite, led the second company in the second month, and he governed his division of twenty-four thousand.)
4 Sobre o turno do segundo mês estava Dodai, o aoíta, a cujo lado estava Miclote; também em seu turno havia vinte e quatro mil.
5 And Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada, the priest, was duke of the third company in the third month, and four and twenty thousand were in his parting; (And Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada, the priest, was the leader of the third company in the third month, and twenty-four thousand \+em were\+em* in his division;)
5 O terceiro capitão do exército e o designado para o terceiro mês era Benaia, chefe, filho do sacerdote Joiada; também em seu turno havia vinte e quatro mil.
6 that is Benaiah, the strongest man among (the) thirty, and above (the) thirty; and Ammizabad, his son, was sovereign of his company (after him). (this is Benaiah, the strongest man among The Thirty, and he \+em was\+em* a leader of The Thirty; and his son Ammizabad was the leader of his company after him.)
6 Esse Benaia era homem poderoso entre os trinta e era o chefe deles; o seu turno estava ao encargo do seu filho Amizabade.
7 In the fourth month, the fourth prince was Asahel, the brother of Joab, and Zebadiah, his son, (was the leader) after him, and four and twenty thousand were in his company.
7 O quarto, para o quarto mês, era Asael, irmão de Joabe, e depois dele Zebadias, seu filho; também em seu turno havia vinte e quatro mil.
8 In the fifth month, the fifth prince was Shamhuth (the) Izrahite, and four and twenty thousand were in his company.
8 O quinto capitão, para o quinto mês, era Samute, o izraíta; também em seu turno havia vinte e quatro mil.
9 In the sixth month, the sixth prince was Ira, the son of Ikkesh, (the) Tekoite, and four and twenty thousand were in his company.
9 O sexto, para o sexto mês, era Ira, filho de Iques, o tecoíta; também em seu turno havia vinte e quatro mil.
10 In the seventh month, the seventh prince was Helez (the) Pelonite, of the sons of Ephraim, [and] four and twenty thousand were in his company.
10 O sétimo, para o sétimo mês, era Heles, o pelonita, dos filhos de Efraim; também em seu turno havia vinte e quatro mil.
11 In the eighth month, the eighth prince was Sibbecai (the) Hushathite, of the generation of Zarhites (or of the sons of Zareh), and four and twenty thousand were in his company.
11 O oitavo, para o oitavo mês, era Sibecai, o husatita, dos zeraítas; também em seu turno havia vinte e quatro mil.
12 In the ninth month, the ninth prince was Abiezer (the) Anetothite, of the generation of Benjamin (or of the sons of Benjamin), and four and twenty thousand were in his company.
12 O nono, para o nono mês, era Abiezer, o anatotita, dos benjamitas; também em seu turno havia vinte e quatro mil.
13 In the tenth month, the tenth prince was Maharai, and he was(a) Netophathite, of the generation of Zarhites (or of the sons of Zareh), and four and twenty thousand were in his company.
13 O décimo, para o décimo mês, era Maarai, o netofatita, dos zeraítas; também em seu turno havia vinte e quatro mil.
14 In the eleventh month, the eleventh prince was Benaiah (the) Pirathonite, of the sons of Ephraim, and four and twenty thousand were in his company.
14 O décimo primeiro, para o décimo primeiro mês, era Benaia, o piratonita, dos filhos de Efraim; também em seu turno havia vinte e quatro mil.
15 In the twelfth month, the twelfth prince was Heldai (the) Netophathite, of the generation of Othniel (or of the sons of Othniel), and four and twenty thousand were in his company.
15 O décimo segundo, para o décimo segundo mês, era Heldai, o netofatita, de Otniel; também em seu turno havia vinte e quatro mil.
16 Forsooth these were the sovereigns of the lineages of Israel (or And \+em these\+em* were the rulers of the tribes of Israel); duke Eliezer, the son of Zichri, was sovereign to Reubenites; duke Shephatiah, the son of Maachah, was sovereign to Simeonites;
16 Estes foram os chefes das tribos de Israel: sobre os rubenitas era chefe Eliézer, filho de Zicri; sobre os simeonitas, Sefatias, filho de Maaca;
17 Hashabiah, the son of Kemuel, was sovereign to the Levites; Zadok was sovereign to Aaronites;

18 Elihu, the brother of David, was sovereign to the lineage of Judah, (or Elihu, David’s brother,\+em was the ruler\+em* of the tribe of Judah); Omri, the son of Michael, was sovereign to Issacharites.

20 Hoshea, the son of Azaziah, was sovereign to the sons of Ephraim; Joel, the son of Pedaiah, was sovereign to the half lineage of Manasseh, (or Joel, the son of Pedaiah, \+em was the ruler\+em* of the western half of the tribe of Manasseh);
20 sobre os filhos de Efraim, Oseias, filho de Azazias; sobre a meia tribo de Manassés, Joel, filho de Pedaías;
21 and Iddo, the son of Zechariah, was sovereign to the (other) half lineage of Manasseh in Gilead; and Jaasiel, the son of Abner, was sovereign to Benjamin; (and Iddo, the son of Zechariah, \+em was the ruler\+em* of the eastern half of the tribe of Manasseh in Gilead; and Jaasiel, the son of Abner, \+em was the ruler\+em* of Benjamin;)

22 and Azareel, the son of Jeroham, was sovereign to Dan; these were the princes of the sons of Israel. (and Azareel, the son of Jeroham, \+em was the ruler\+em* of Dan; these \+em were\+em* the leaders of the Israelites.)

23 And David would not number them that were within twenty years, for the Lord [had] said, that he would multiply Israel as the stars of heaven. (But David did not count those \+em who were\+em* under twenty years of age, for the Lord had said that he would multiply Israel like the stars in the heavens.)
23 Davi não contou os que tinham menos de vinte anos, porque o Senhor tinha dito que multiplicaria Israel como as estrelas do céu.
24 Joab, the son of Zeruiah, began for to number Israel, but he fulfilled not; for ire of God fell upon Israel for this thing, and therefore the number of them that were numbered, was not told in the books of (the) chronicles of king David. (Joab, the son of Zeruiah, began to count \+em (the Israelites)\+em*, but he did not finish the census; for \+em (God’s)\+em* anger fell upon the Israelites for this thing, and so the number of them who were counted, was not told in the books of The Chronicles of King David.)
24 Joabe, filho de Zeruia, tinha começado a contar o povo, porém não acabou, visto que, por causa desse censo, veio grande ira sobre Israel. Por isso o número não foi registrado na história do rei Davi.
25 Forsooth Azmaveth, the son of Adiel, was (sovereign) on the treasuries of the king; but Jehonathan, the son of Uzziah, was sovereign over these treasures, that were in cities, and in towns, and in towers. (And Azmaveth, the son of Adiel, was in charge of the king’s treasuries; and Jehonathan, the son of Uzziah, was in charge of his treasures,\+em or of his treasuries\+em*, that were in the cities, and in the towns, and in the towers.)
25 Azmavete, filho de Adiel, cuidava dos tesouros do rei; Jônatas, filho de Uzias, cuidava do que o rei possuía nos campos, nas cidades, nas aldeias e nos castelos.
26 And Ezri, the son of Chelub, was sovereign upon the work of husbandry, and upon [the] earth-tillers, that tilled the land (or who worked the land);
26 Ezri, filho de Quelube, cuidava dos lavradores do campo, que cultivavam a terra.
27 and Shimei (the) Ramathite was sovereign upon [the] tillers of (the) vineries; and Zabdi (the) Shiphmite was sovereign upon the wine cellars;
27 Simei, o ramatita, cuidava das vinhas; porém Zabdi, o sifmita, cuidava do que entrava das vinhas para as adegas.
28 for Baalhanan (the) Gederite was \+sls (sovereign)\+sls*[up] on the olive places, and the fig places, that were in the field places; and Joash was sovereign upon the shops, either cellars, of oil;
28 Baal-Hanã, o gederita, cuidava dos olivais e sicômoros que havia na Sefelá; porém Joás cuidava dos depósitos do azeite.
29 and Shitrai (the) Sharonite was sovereign upon the droves that were pastured in Sharon; and Shaphat, the son of Adlai, was over the oxen in valleys; (and Shitrai the Sharonite \+em was in charge\+em* of the herds that were pastured in Sharon; and Shaphat, the son of Adlai, \+em was in charge\+em* of the oxen in the valleys;)
29 Sitrai, o saronita, cuidava do gado que pastava em Sarom; porém Safate, filho de Adlai, cuidava do gado dos vales.
30 and Obil of Ishmael was over the camels; and Jehdeiah (the) Meronothite was over the asses; (and Obil of Ishmael \+em was in charge\+em* of the camels; and Jehdeiah the Meronothite \+em was in charge\+em* of the donkeys;)
30 Obil, o ismaelita, cuidava dos camelos; Jedias, o meronotita, cuidava das jumentas.
31 and Jaziz (the) Hagerite was over the sheep; all these were princes of the chattel of king David. (and Jaziz the Hagerite \+em (was in charge)\+em* of the sheep; all these \+em (were)\+em* the overseers of King David’s possessions.)
31 Jaziz, o hagareno, cuidava das ovelhas; todos estes eram administradores dos bens do rei Davi.
32 And Jonathan, the brother of David’s father, was a counsellor, a mighty man, and prudent, and lettered; he and Jehiel, the son of Hachmoni, were with the sons of the king.
32 Jônatas, tio de Davi, era do conselho, homem sábio e escriba. Jeiel, filho de Hacmoni, cuidava dos filhos do rei.
33 Also Ahithophel was a counsellor of the king; and Hushai (the) Archite was a friend of the king.
33 Aitofel era do conselho do rei. Husai, o arquita, era amigo do rei.
34 After Ahithophel was Jehoiada, the son of Benaiah, and Abiathar; but Joab was prince of the host of the king (or and Joab was the leader of the king’s army).
34 A Aitofel sucederam Joiada, filho de Benaia, e Abiatar. Joabe era comandante do exército do rei.
