¹ And David made to him(self) houses in the city of David, and he builded a place to the ark of the Lord, and arrayed a tabernacle to it. (And David prepared quarters for himself in the City of David, and he built a place for the Ark of the Lord, and prepared a Tent for it.)

² Then David said, It is unleaveful, that the ark of God be borne about of any others, no but of the deacons, which the Lord chose to bear it, and for to minister to him into without end. (Then David said, It is unlawful, for the Ark of God to be carried about by any others, except the Levites, whom the Lord hath chosen to carry it, and to serve him forevermore.)

¹¹ And David called (for) Zadok and Abiathar (the) priests, and the deacons (or and the Levites), Uriel, Asaiah, and Joel, Shemaiah, Eliel, and Amminadab;

¹² and said to them, Ye that be princes of the families of Levi, be ye hallowed with your brethren, and bring ye the ark of the Lord God of Israel to the place, that is made ready to it; (and said to them, Ye who be the leaders of the families of the Levites, be ye consecrated, \+em or purified\+em*, along with your kinsmen, and bring ye the Ark of the Lord God of Israel to the place, that was prepared for it;)

¹² e disse-lhes: Vós sois os chefes das famílias levíticas; santificai-vos, vós e vossos irmãos, e fazei subir a arca do Senhor, Deus de Israel, ao lugar que lhe preparei.

¹³ lest, as at the beginning, for ye were not present, the Lord smote us, so and now it be done, if we do any unleaveful thing. (because the first time, for ye were not present, the Lord struck us down, and so now it could be done to us \+em again\+em*, if we do any unlawful thing.)

¹³ É porque não fostes vós, que o Senhor, nosso Deus, feriu na primeira vez, pois não a fomos procurar como manda a lei.

¹⁴ Therefore the priests and deacons were hallowed, that they should bear the ark of the Lord God of Israel. (And so the priests and the Levites purified themselves, so that they could carry the Ark of the Lord God of Israel.)

¹⁴ Os sacerdotes e levitas santificaram-se, portanto, para fazer subir a arca do Senhor, Deus de Israel.

¹⁵ And the sons of Levi took the ark of God with bars upon their shoulders, as Moses commanded by the word of the Lord. (And the Levites took the Ark of God on bars upon their shoulders, as Moses commanded by the word of the Lord.)

(And David said to the leaders of the Levites, that they should ordain among their kinsmen singers, and players of musical instruments, that is, of lutes, and harps, and cymbals; so that the sound of gladness could be heard on high.)

¹⁷ And they ordained deacons, Heman, the son of Joel, and of his brethren, Asaph, the son of Berechiah; soothly of the sons of Merari, [the] brethren of them, they ordained Ethan, the son of Kushaiah, (And the Levites ordained Heman, the son of Joel, and of his kinsmen, Asaph, the son of Berechiah; and of the sons of Merari, their kinsmen, \+em they ordained\+em* Ethan, the son of Kushaiah;)

¹⁷ Os levitas constituíram Hemã, filho de Joel, e dentre seus irmãos, Asaf, filho de Baraquias; dentre os filhos de Merari, seus irmãos, Etã, filho de Cusaia;

¹⁸ and the brethren of them with them; in the second order Zechariah, and Ben, and Jaaziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Unni, Eliab, and Benaiah, and Maaseiah, and Mattithiah, and Elipheleh, and Mikneiah, and Obededom, and Jeiel, porters; (and with them, their kinsmen of the second order, \+em or degree\+em*, Zechariah, and Ben, Jaaziel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Benaiah, Maaseiah, Mattithiah, Elipheleh, and Mikneiah, and the gatekeepers, Obededom, and Jeiel;)

¹⁸ e com eles, seus irmãos de segunda ordem; Zacarias, Oziel, Semiramot, Jaiel, Ani, Eliab, Banaías, Maasias, Matatias, Elifalu, Macenias, Obededom e Jeiel, os porteiros.

¹⁹ and the singers, Heman, Asaph, and Ethan, sounding in brazen cymbals; (and the musicians, Heman, Asaph, and Ethan, sounding with brass cymbals;)

²⁰ and Zechariah, and Aziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Unni, and Eliab, and Maaseiah, and Benaiah, these sang privates in gitterns (or these played lutes on Alamoth);

²² and Chenaniah, the prince of deacons, and of prophecy, was sovereign to before-sing [the] melody, for he was full wise; (and Chenaniah, a leader of the Levites, led the singing by the singers, for he was very wise;)

²⁴ Os sacerdotes Sebenias, Josafá, Natanael, Amasaí, Zacarias, Banaias e Eliezer tocavam trombetas diante da arca de Deus. Obededom e Jeías eram porteiros da arca.

²⁵ Therefore David, and the greater men in birth of Israel, and the tribunes, went to bring the ark of [the] bond of peace of the Lord from the house of Obededom with gladness. (And so David, and the men of great age, \+em that is, the elders\+em*, of Israel, and the tribunes, went with great gladness to bring back the Ark of the Covenant of the Lord from the house of Obededom.)

²⁵ Davi, os anciãos de Israel e os chefes de mil foram para retirar da casa de Obededom a arca da aliança do Senhor, e para transportá-la no meio de regozijo.

²⁶ And when God had helped the deacons that bare the ark of [the] bond of peace of the Lord, seven bulls and seven rams were offered. (And because God had helped the Levites who carried the Ark of the Covenant of the Lord, they offered seven bulls and seven rams.)

(And David was clothed with a white robe, and all the Levites who carried the Ark, and the singers, and Chenaniah, the leader of the singing by the singers, \+em were also clothed in white robes\+em*; and David was also clothed with a linen ephod.)

²⁷ Davi estava revestido de um manto de linho fino, e da mesma forma todos os levitas que transportavam a arca, os cantores e Conenias que dirigia o transporte da arca entre os cantores. Davi estava ainda revestido de um efod de linho.

²⁸ And all Israel led forth the ark of [the] bond of peace of the Lord, and sounded in joyful song, and in sound of clarions, and in trumps, and in cymbals, and in gitterns, and harps. (And all Israel brought forth the Ark of the Covenant of the Lord, and sounded with joyful song, and with the sound of horns, and trumpets, and cymbals, and lutes, and harps.)

²⁸ Todo o Israel, ao fazer subir a arca da aliança do Senhor, soltava brados de júbilo, ressoando trombetas, trompas e címbalos, retinindo cítaras e harpas.

²⁹ And when the ark of [the] bond of peace of the Lord had come into the city of David, Michal, the daughter of Saul, beheld forth by a window, and saw king David dancing and playing; and she despised him in her heart. (And when the Ark of the Covenant of the Lord had come into the City of David, Michal, Saul’s daughter, watched from a window, and saw King David dancing and playing; and she despised him in her heart.)

²⁹ Quando a arca da aliança do Senhor entrava na cidade de Davi, Micol, filha de Saul, que olhava pela janela, viu que o rei saltava e dançava, e desprezou-o no seu coração.
