2 Já o disse quando estava presente a segunda vez, e estando agora ausente torno a dizer aos que antes pecaram e a todos os mais que, se outra vez for, não os pouparei.

4 Porque, ainda que foi crucificado por fraqueza, vive contudo pelo poder de Deus. Pois nós também somos fracos nele, mas viveremos com ele pelo poder de Deus para convosco.

Or|strong="G2228" do|strong="G1510" you|strong="G5210" not|strong="G3756" realize that|strong="G3754" Jesus|strong="G2424" Christ|strong="G5547" is|strong="G1510" in|strong="G1722" you|strong="G5210"?—unless|strong="G1487", of|strong="G1722" course, you|strong="G5210" fail|strong="G3756" to|strong="G1722" meet|strong="G3588" the|strong="G1722" test|strong="G3985".
5 Examinai-vos a vós mesmos se permaneceis na fé; provai-vos a vós mesmos. Ou não sabeis quanto a vós mesmos, que Jesus Cristo está em vós? Se não é que já estais reprovados.
6 But|strong="G1161" I|strong="G1473" hope|strong="G1679" you|strong="G3754" will|strong="G1510" recognize|strong="G1097" that|strong="G3754" we|strong="G2249" have|strong="G1473" not|strong="G3756" failed|strong="G3756" the|strong="G1161" test|strong="G1097".
6 Mas espero que entendereis que nós não somos reprovados.
7 I|strong="G1473" pray|strong="G2172" to|strong="G4314" God|strong="G2316" that|strong="G2443" you|strong="G5210" will|strong="G2316" not|strong="G3756" do|strong="G4160" anything|strong="G3367" wrong|strong="G2556"—not|strong="G3756" so|strong="G2443" that|strong="G2443" we|strong="G2249" may|strong="G2443" appear|strong="G5316" to|strong="G4314" have|strong="G1473" met the|strong="G1161" test, but|strong="G1161" so|strong="G2443" that|strong="G2443" you|strong="G5210" may|strong="G2443" do|strong="G4160" what|strong="G3588" is|strong="G1510" right|strong="G2570", even|strong="G1161" though|strong="G5613" we|strong="G2249" may|strong="G2443" appear|strong="G5316" to|strong="G4314" have|strong="G1473" failed|strong="G3756".
7 Ora, rogamos a Deus que não façais mal algum, não para que nós pareçamos aprovados, mas que vós façais o bem, embora nós sejamos como reprovados.
8 For|strong="G1063" we|strong="G1063" cannot|strong="G1410" do|strong="G1410" anything|strong="G5100" against|strong="G2596" the|strong="G2596" truth, but|strong="G1063" only|strong="G3756" for|strong="G1063" the|strong="G2596" truth.
8 Porque nada podemos contra a verdade, porém, a favor da verdade.
9 We|strong="G2249" rejoice|strong="G5463" when|strong="G3752" we|strong="G2249" are|strong="G1510" weak and|strong="G2532" you|strong="G5210" are|strong="G1510" strong|strong="G1415", and|strong="G2532" we|strong="G2249" pray|strong="G2172" for|strong="G1063" your|strong="G2532" restoration.
9 Pois nos regozijamos quando nós estamos fracos e vós sois fortes; e isto é o que rogamos, a saber, o vosso aperfeiçoamento.

10 Portanto, escrevo estas coisas estando ausente, para que, quando estiver presente, não use de rigor, segundo a autoridade que o Senhor me deu para edificação, e não para destruição.
11 Finally|strong="G3063", brothers, rejoice|strong="G5463". Be|strong="G1510" restored, be|strong="G1510" comforted|strong="G3870", be|strong="G1510" of|strong="G2316" the|strong="G2532" same|strong="G2532" mind|strong="G5426", and|strong="G2532" live|strong="G2532" in|strong="G2532" peace|strong="G1515", and|strong="G2532" the|strong="G2532" God|strong="G2316" of|strong="G2316" love and|strong="G2532" peace|strong="G1515" will|strong="G2316" be|strong="G1510" with|strong="G3326" you|strong="G5210".
11 Quanto ao mais, irmãos, regozijai-vos, sede perfeitos, sede consolados, sede de um mesmo parecer, vivei em paz; e o Deus de amor e de paz será convosco.
12 Greet one|strong="G3956" another|strong="G3588" with|strong="G1722" a|strong="G1722" holy kiss|strong="G5370".
12 Saudai-vos uns aos outros com ósculo santo.
13 All|strong="G3956" the|strong="G2532" saints greet you|strong="G5210".
13 Todos os santos vos saúdam.
14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
14 A graça do Senhor Jesus Cristo, e o amor de Deus, e a comunhão do Espírito Santo sejam com todos vós.
