1 My spirit is consumed, my days are extinct, the grave is ready for me.
1 "Meu espírito está quebrantado, os meus dias se encurtam, a sepultura me espera.
2 Surely there are mockers with me, and mine eye abideth in their provocation.
2 A verdade é que zombadores me rodeiam, e tenho que ficar olhando a hostilidade deles.
3 Give now a pledge, be surety for me with thyself; who is there that will strike hands with me?
3 "Dá-me, ó Deus, a garantia que exiges. Quem, senão tu, me dará segurança?
4 For thou hast hid their heart from understanding: therefore shalt thou not exalt them .
4 Fechaste as mentes deles para o entendimento, e com isso não os deixarás triunfar.
5 He that denounceth his friends for a prey, even the eyes of his children shall fail.
5 Se alguém denunciar os seus amigos por recompensa, os olhos dos filhos dele fraquejarão,
6 He hath made me also a byword of the people; and I am become an open abhorring.
6 "mas de mim Deus fez um provérbio para todos, um homem em cujo rosto os outros cospem.
7 Mine eye also is dim by reason of sorrow, and all my members are as a shadow.
7 Meus olhos se turvaram de tristeza; o meu corpo não passa de uma sombra.
8 Upright men shall be astonied at this, and the innocent shall stir up himself against the godless.
8 Os íntegros ficam atônitos em face disso, e os inocentes se levantam contra os ímpios.
9 Yet shall the righteous hold on his way, and he that hath clean hands shall wax stronger and stronger.
9 Mas os justos se manterão firmes em seus caminhos, e os homens de mãos puras se tornarão cada vez mais fortes.
10 But return ye, all of you, and come now: and I shall not find a wise man among you.
10 "Venham, porém, vocês todos, e façam nova tentativa! Não acharei nenhum sábio entre vocês.
11 My days are past, my purposes are broken off, even the droughts of my heart.
11 Foram-se os meus dias, os meus planos fracassaram, como também os desejos do meu coração.
12 They change the night into a day: the fight, say they , is near unto the darkness.
12 Andam querendo tornar a noite em dia; ante a aproximação das trevas dizem: ‘Vem chegando a luz’.
13 If I look for Sheol as mine house; if I have spread my couch in the darkness;
13 Ora, se o único lar pelo qual espero é a sepultura; se estendo a minha cama nas trevas;
14 If I have said to corruption, Thou art my father; to the worm, Thou art my mother, and my sister;
14 se digo à corrupção mortal: Você é o meu pai, e se aos vermes digo: Vocês são minha mãe e minha irmã,
15 Where then is my hope? and as for my hope, who shall see it?
15 onde está então minha esperança? Quem poderá ver alguma esperança para mim?
16 It shall go down to the bars of Sheol, when once there is rest in the dust.
16 Descerá ela às portas do Sheol? Desceremos juntos ao pó? "
