By|strong="G1909" the|strong="G2532" word|strong="G4487" of|strong="G2532" two|strong="G1417" or|strong="G2532" three|strong="G5140" witnesses|strong="G3144" each statement|strong="G4487" will|strong="G2532" be|strong="G2532" established|strong="G2476".
1 Esta é a terceira vez que vou ter convosco. Por boca de duas ou três testemunhas, toda questão será decidida.

2 Já o disse anteriormente e torno a dizer, como fiz quando estive presente pela segunda vez; mas, agora, estando ausente, o digo aos que, outrora, pecaram e a todos os mais que, se outra vez for, não os pouparei,

4 Porque, de fato, foi crucificado em fraqueza; contudo, vive pelo poder de Deus. Porque nós também somos fracos nele, mas viveremos, com ele, para vós outros pelo poder de Deus.

Examine|strong="G1381" yourselves|strong="G1438". Surely|strong="G3385" you|strong="G5210" recognise this|strong="G3588" fact|strong="G3754" about|strong="G1722" yourselves|strong="G1438" – that|strong="G3754" Jesus|strong="G2424" Christ|strong="G5547" is|strong="G1510" in|strong="G1722" you|strong="G5210"! Unless|strong="G1487" indeed|strong="G1510" you|strong="G5210" cannot|strong="G3756" stand|strong="G5210" the|strong="G1722" test|strong="G3985"!
5 Examinai-vos a vós mesmos se realmente estais na fé; provai-vos a vós mesmos. Ou não reconheceis que Jesus Cristo está em vós? Se não é que já estais reprovados.
6 But|strong="G1161" I|strong="G1473" hope|strong="G1679" that|strong="G3754" you|strong="G3754" will|strong="G1510" recognise that|strong="G3754" we|strong="G2249" can stand the|strong="G1161" test|strong="G1097".
6 Mas espero reconheçais que não somos reprovados.
7 We|strong="G2249" pray|strong="G2172" to|strong="G4314" God|strong="G2316" that|strong="G2443" you|strong="G5210" may|strong="G2443" do|strong="G4160" nothing|strong="G3367" wrong|strong="G2556", not|strong="G3756" that|strong="G2443" we|strong="G2249" may|strong="G2443" be|strong="G1510" seen|strong="G5316" to|strong="G4314" stand|strong="G5210" the|strong="G1161" test, but|strong="G1161" that|strong="G2443" you|strong="G5210" may|strong="G2443" do|strong="G4160" what|strong="G3588" is|strong="G1510" right|strong="G2570", even|strong="G1161" though|strong="G5613" we|strong="G2249" may|strong="G2443" seem|strong="G5316" not|strong="G3756" to|strong="G4314" stand|strong="G5210" the|strong="G1161" test.
7 Estamos orando a Deus para que não façais mal algum, não para que, simplesmente, pareçamos aprovados, mas para que façais o bem, embora sejamos tidos como reprovados.
8 We|strong="G1063" have|strong="G5100" no|strong="G3756" power|strong="G1410" at|strong="G2596" all|strong="G2596" against|strong="G2596" the|strong="G2596" truth, but|strong="G1063" we|strong="G1063" have|strong="G5100" power|strong="G1410" in|strong="G2596" the|strong="G2596" service of|strong="G5100" the|strong="G2596" truth.
8 Porque nada podemos contra a verdade, senão em favor da própria verdade.
9 We|strong="G2249" are|strong="G1510" glad|strong="G5463" when|strong="G3752" we|strong="G2249" are|strong="G1510" weak, if|strong="G2532" you|strong="G5210" are|strong="G1510" strong|strong="G1415". 9 Porque nos regozijamos quando nós estamos fracos e vós, fortes; e isto é o que pedimos: o vosso aperfeiçoamento.

10 Portanto, escrevo estas coisas, estando ausente, para que, estando presente, não venha a usar de rigor segundo a autoridade que o Senhor me conferiu para edificação e não para destruir.

Aim at|strong="G2316" perfection; take|strong="G2316" courage; agree|strong="G1510" together|strong="G3326"; live|strong="G2532" in|strong="G2532" peace|strong="G1515". And|strong="G2532" then|strong="G2532" God|strong="G2316", the|strong="G2532" source of|strong="G2316" all|strong="G2532" love and|strong="G2532" peace|strong="G1515", will|strong="G2316" be|strong="G1510" with|strong="G3326" you|strong="G5210".
11 Quanto ao mais, irmãos, adeus! Aperfeiçoai-vos, consolai-vos, sede do mesmo parecer, vivei em paz; e o Deus de amor e de paz estará convosco.
12 Greet one|strong="G3956" another|strong="G3588" with|strong="G1722" a|strong="G1722" sacred kiss|strong="G5370".
12 Saudai-vos uns aos outros com ósculo santo. Todos os santos vos saúdam.
