GOD'S WORD (ENGGW) vs NTLH
1 At that time some people reported to Jesus about some Galileans whom Pilate had executed while they were sacrificing animals.
1 Naquela mesma ocasião algumas pessoas chegaram e começaram a comentar com Jesus como Pilatos havia mandado matar vários galileus, no momento em que eles ofereciam sacrifícios a Deus.
2 Jesus replied to them, “Do you think that this happened to them because they were more sinful than other people from Galilee?
2 Então Jesus disse:
3 No! I can guarantee that they weren’t. But if you don’t turn to God and change the way you think and act, then you, too, will all die.
3 De modo nenhum! Eu afirmo a vocês que, se não se arrependerem dos seus pecados, todos vocês vão morrer como eles morreram.
4 What about those 18 people who died when the tower at Siloam fell on them? Do you think that they were more sinful than other people living in Jerusalem?
4 E lembrem daqueles dezoito, do bairro de Siloé, que foram mortos quando a torre caiu em cima deles. Vocês pensam que eles eram piores do que os outros que moravam em Jerusalém?
5 No! I can guarantee that they weren’t. But if you don’t turn to God and change the way you think and act, then you, too, will all die.”
5 De modo nenhum! Eu afirmo a vocês que, se não se arrependerem dos seus pecados, todos vocês vão morrer como eles morreram.
6 Then Jesus used this illustration: “A man had a fig tree growing in his vineyard. He went to look for fruit on the tree but didn’t find any.
6 Então Jesus contou esta parábola :
7 He said to the gardener, ‘For the last three years I’ve come to look for figs on this fig tree but haven’t found any. Cut it down! Why should it use up ⌞good⌟ soil?’
7 Aí disse ao homem que tomava conta da plantação: “Olhe! Já faz três anos seguidos que venho buscar figos nesta figueira e não encontro nenhum. Corte esta figueira! Por que deixá-la continuar tirando a força da terra sem produzir nada?”
8 “The gardener replied, ‘Sir, let it stand for one more year. I’ll dig around it and fertilize it.
8 Mas o empregado respondeu: “Patrão, deixe a figueira ficar mais este ano. Eu vou afofar a terra em volta dela e pôr bastante adubo.
9 Maybe next year it’ll have figs. But if not, then cut it down.’ ”
9 Se no ano que vem ela der figos, muito bem. Se não der, então mande cortá-la.”
10 Jesus was teaching in a synagogue on the day of rest—a holy day.
10 Certo sábado, Jesus estava ensinando numa sinagoga .
11 A woman who was possessed by a spirit was there. The spirit had disabled her for 18 years. She was hunched over and couldn’t stand up straight.
11 E chegou ali uma mulher que fazia dezoito anos que estava doente, por causa de um espírito mau. Ela andava encurvada e não conseguia se endireitar.
12 When Jesus saw her, he called her to come to him and said, “Woman, you are free from your disability.”
12 Quando Jesus a viu, ele a chamou e disse:
13 He placed his hands on her, and she immediately stood up straight and praised God.
13 Aí pôs as mãos sobre ela, e ela logo se endireitou e começou a louvar a Deus.
14 The synagogue leader was irritated with Jesus for healing on the day of rest. The leader told the crowd, “There are six days when work can be done. So come on one of those days to be healed. Don’t come on the day of rest—a holy day.”
14 Mas o chefe da sinagoga ficou zangado porque Jesus havia feito uma cura no sábado. Por isso disse ao povo: — Há seis dias para trabalhar. Pois venham nesses dias para serem curados, mas, no sábado, não!
15 The Lord said, “You hypocrites! Don’t each of you free your ox or donkey on the day of rest—a holy day? Don’t you then take it out of its stall to give it some water to drink?
15 Então o Senhor respondeu:
16 Now, here is a descendant of Abraham. Satan has kept her in this condition for 18 years. Isn’t it right to free her on the day of rest—a holy day?”
16 E agora está aqui uma descendente de Abraão que Satanás prendeu durante dezoito anos. Por que é que no sábado ela não devia ficar livre dessa doença?
17 As he said this, everyone who opposed him felt ashamed. But the entire crowd was happy about the miraculous things he was doing.
17 Os inimigos de Jesus ficaram envergonhados com essa resposta, mas toda a multidão ficou alegre com as coisas maravilhosas que ele fazia.
18 Jesus asked, “What is God’s kingdom like? What can I compare it to?
18 Jesus disse:
19 It’s like a mustard seed that someone planted in a garden. It grew and became a tree, and the birds nested in its branches.”
19 Ele é como uma semente de mostarda que um homem pega e planta na sua horta. A planta cresce e fica uma árvore, e os passarinhos fazem ninhos nos seus ramos.
20 He asked again, “What can I compare God’s kingdom to?
20 Jesus continuou:
21 It’s like yeast that a woman mixed into a large amount of flour until the yeast worked its way through all the dough.”
21 Ele é como o fermento que uma mulher pega e mistura em três medidas de farinha, até que ele se espalhe por toda a massa.
22 Then Jesus traveled and taught in one city and village after another on his way to Jerusalem.
22 Jesus atravessava cidades e povoados, ensinando na sua viagem para Jerusalém.
23 Someone asked him, “Sir, are only a few people going to be saved?”
23 Alguém perguntou: — Senhor, são poucos os que vão ser salvos? Jesus respondeu:
24 “Try hard to enter through the narrow door. I can guarantee that many will try to enter, but they won’t succeed.
24 — Façam tudo para entrar pela porta estreita. Pois eu afirmo a vocês que muitos vão querer entrar, mas não poderão.
25 After the homeowner gets up and closes the door, ⌞it’s too late⌟. You can stand outside, knock at the door, and say, ‘Sir, open the door for us!’ But he will answer you, ‘I don’t know who you are.’
25 — O dono da casa vai se levantar e fechar a porta. Então vocês ficarão do lado de fora, batendo na porta e dizendo: “Senhor, nos deixe entrar!” E ele responderá: “Não sei de onde são vocês.”
26 Then you will say, ‘We ate and drank with you, and you taught in our streets.’
26 Aí vocês dirão: “Nós comemos e bebemos com o senhor. O senhor ensinou na nossa cidade.”
27 But he will tell you, ‘I don’t know who you are. Get away from me, all you evil people.’
27 Mas ele responderá: “Não sei de onde são vocês. Afastem-se de mim, vocês que só fazem o mal.”
28 Then you will cry and be in extreme pain. That’s what you’ll do when you see Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and all the prophets. They’ll be in God’s kingdom, but you’ll be thrown out.
28 Quando vocês virem Abraão, Isaque, Jacó e todos os
29 People will come from all over the world and will eat in God’s kingdom.
29 Muitos virão do Leste e do Oeste, do Norte e do Sul e vão sentar-se à mesa no Reino de Deus.
30 Some who are last will be first, and some who are first will be last.”
30 E os que agora são os últimos serão os primeiros, e os primeiros serão os últimos.
31 At that time some Pharisees told Jesus, “Get out of here, and go somewhere else! Herod wants to kill you.”
31 Naquele momento alguns fariseus chegaram perto de Jesus e disseram: — Vá embora daqui, porque Herodes quer matá-lo.
32 Jesus said to them, “Tell that fox that I will force demons out of people and heal people today and tomorrow. I will finish my work on the third day.
32 Jesus respondeu:
33 But I must be on my way today, tomorrow, and the next day. It’s not possible for a prophet to die outside Jerusalem.
33 E Jesus continuou:
34 “Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you kill the prophets and stone to death those sent to you! How often I wanted to gather your children together the way a hen gathers her chicks under her wings! But you were not willing!
34 — Jerusalém, Jerusalém, que mata os profetas e apedreja os mensageiros que Deus lhe manda! Quantas vezes eu quis abraçar todo o seu povo, assim como a galinha ajunta os seus pintinhos debaixo das suas asas, mas vocês não quiseram!
35 Your house will be abandoned. I can guarantee that you will not see me again until you say, ‘Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord!’ ”
35 Agora a casa de vocês ficará completamente abandonada. Eu afirmo que vocês não me verão mais, até chegar o tempo em que dirão: “Deus abençoe aquele que vem em nome do Senhor!”
