GOD'S WORD (ENGGW) vs ACF
1 After Abimelech, Tola, who was the son of Puah and grandson of Dodo, came to rescue Israel. Tola was from Issachar and lived in Shamir in the mountains of Ephraim.
1 E depois de Abimeleque, se levantou, para livrar a Israel, Tola, filho de Puá, filho de Dodo, homem de Issacar; e habitava em Samir, na montanha de Efraim.
2 He judged Israel for 23 years. Tola died and was buried in Shamir.
2 E julgou a Israel vinte e três anos; e morreu, e foi sepultado em Samir.
3 After Tola, Jair from Gilead became a judge. He judged Israel for 22 years.
3 E depois dele se levantou Jair, gileadita, e julgou a Israel vinte e dois anos.
4 Jair had 30 sons who rode on 30 donkeys. He also had 30 towns that are still called Havvoth Jair to this day. They are in the region of Gilead.
4 E tinha este trinta filhos, que cavalgavam sobre trinta jumentos; e tinham trinta cidades, a que chamaram Havote-Jair, até ao dia de hoje; as quais estão na terra de Gileade.
5 Jair died and was buried in Kamon.
5 E morreu Jair, e foi sepultado em Camom.
6 The people of Israel again did what the Lord considered evil. They began to serve other gods and goddesses—the Baals and the Astartes—and the gods of Aram, Sidon, Moab, Ammon, and the gods of the Philistines. They abandoned the Lord and did not serve him.
6 Então tornaram os filhos de Israel a fazer o que era mau aos olhos do Senhor, e serviram aos baalins, e a Astarote, e aos deuses da Síria, e aos deuses de Sidom, e aos deuses de Moabe, e aos deuses dos filhos de Amom, e aos deuses dos filisteus; e deixaram ao Senhor, e não o serviram.
7 The Lord became angry with the people of Israel. So he used the Philistines and Ammonites to defeat them.
7 E a ira do Senhor se acendeu contra Israel; e vendeu-os nas mãos dos filisteus, e nas mãos dos filhos de Amom.
8 They oppressed and crushed the people of Israel that year. For 18 years they oppressed all who lived east of the Jordan River in the land of the Amorites in Gilead.
8 E naquele mesmo ano oprimiram e vexaram aos filhos de Israel; dezoito anos oprimiram a todos os filhos de Israel que estavam além do Jordão, na terra dos amorreus, que está em Gileade.
9 Ammon also crossed the Jordan River to fight the tribes of Judah, Benjamin, and Ephraim. So Israel suffered a great deal.
9 Até os filhos de Amom passaram o Jordão, para pelejar também contra Judá, e contra Benjamim, e contra a casa de Efraim; de modo que Israel ficou muito angustiado.
10 Then the people of Israel cried out to the Lord for help. They said, “We have sinned against you. We have abandoned our God and served other gods—the Baals.”
10 Então os filhos de Israel clamaram ao Senhor, dizendo: Contra ti havemos pecado, visto que deixamos a nosso Deus, e servimos aos baalins.
11 The Lord said to the people of Israel, “When the Egyptians, the Amorites, the Ammonites, the Philistines,
11 Porém o Senhor disse aos filhos de Israel: Porventura dos egípcios, e dos amorreus, e dos filhos de Amom, e dos filisteus,
12 the Sidonians, the Amalekites, and the Maonites oppressed you, you cried out to me for help. Didn’t I rescue you from them?
12 E dos sidônios, e dos amalequitas, e dos maonitas, que vos oprimiam, quando a mim clamastes, não vos livrei das suas mãos?
13 But you still abandoned me and served other gods. That’s why I won’t rescue you again.
13 Contudo vós me deixastes a mim, e servistes a outros deuses; pelo que não vos livrarei mais.
14 Cry out for help to the gods you chose. Let them rescue you when you’re in trouble.”
14 Ide, e clamai aos deuses que escolhestes; que eles vos livrem no tempo do vosso aperto.
15 The people of Israel said to the Lord, “We have sinned. Do to us whatever you think is right. But please rescue us today!”
15 Mas os filhos de Israel disseram ao Senhor: Pecamos; faze-nos conforme a tudo quanto te parecer bem aos teus olhos; tão-somente te rogamos que nos livres nesta vez.
16 Then they got rid of the foreign gods they had and served the Lord. So the Lord could not bear to have Israel suffer any longer.
16 E tiraram os deuses alheios do meio de si, e serviram ao Senhor; então se angustiou a sua alma por causa da desgraça de Israel.
17 The troops of Ammon were summoned to fight, and they camped at Gilead. The people of Israel also gathered together and camped at Mizpah.
17 E os filhos de Amom se reuniram e se acamparam em Gileade; e também os de Israel se congregaram, e se acamparam em Mizpá.
18 The leaders of the people of Gilead said to each other, “Whoever starts the fight against Ammon will rule everyone who lives in Gilead.”
18 Então o povo e os príncipes de Gileade disseram uns aos outros: Quem será o homem que começará a pelejar contra os filhos de Amom? Ele será por cabeça de todos os moradores de Gileade.
