GOD'S WORD (ENGGW) vs BKJ
1 As the war between the royal families of Saul and David dragged on, David’s family became stronger and stronger, and Saul’s family became weaker and weaker.
1 Ora, houve uma longa guerra entre a casa de Saul e a casa de Davi; mas Davi tornou-se cada vez mais forte, e a casa de Saul tornou-se cada vez mais fraca.
2 Sons were born to David while he was in Hebron. His first son was Amnon, ⌞born⌟ to Ahinoam from Jezreel.
2 E a Davi nasceram filhos em Hebrom; e o seu primogênito foi Amnom, de Ainoã, a jezreelita;
3 The second was Chileab, ⌞born⌟ to Abigail (who had been Nabal’s wife) from Carmel. The third was Absalom, whose mother was Maacah (the daughter of King Talmai) from Geshur.
3 e o seu segundo, Quileabe, de Abigail, a esposa de Nabal, o carmelita; e o terceiro, Absalão, o filho de Maaca, a filha de Talmai, rei de Gesur;
4 The fourth was Adonijah, whose mother was Haggith. The fifth was Shephatiah, whose mother was Abital.
4 e o quarto, Adonias, o filho de Hagite; e o quinto, Sefatias, o filho de Abital;
5 The sixth was Ithream, ⌞born⌟ to David’s wife Eglah. These sons were born to David while he was in Hebron.
5 e o sexto, Itreão, de Eglá, mulher de Davi. Estes nasceram a Davi em Hebrom.
6 During the war between the families of Saul and David, Abner strengthened his position in Saul’s royal family.
6 E sucedeu que, enquanto houve guerra entre a casa de Saul e a casa de Davi, Abner se fez forte para a casa de Saul.
7 Saul had a concubine named Rizpah (Aiah’s daughter). Ishbosheth asked Abner, “Why did you have sex with my father’s concubine?”
7 E Saul tinha uma concubina, cujo nome era Rispa, filha de Aiá; e Isbosete disse a Abner: Por que entraste à concubina do meu pai?
8 Ishbosheth’s question made Abner very angry. “Have I been behaving like some Judean dog?” he asked. “Until now I’ve been faithful to your father Saul’s family, to his relatives and friends, and I haven’t handed you over to David. But now you charge me with a crime because of this woman.
8 Então, Abner ficou mui irado com as palavras de Isbosete, e disse: Sou eu cabeça de um cão que diante de Judá hoje uso de misericórdia para com a casa de Saul, teu pai, para seus irmãos e seus amigos, e não te entreguei nas mãos de Davi; e me repreende hoje a respeito desta mulher?
9 May God strike me dead unless I do for David what the Lord had promised him with an oath:
9 Assim faça Deus a Abner, e lhe acrescente mais, como o SENHOR tem jurado a Davi, mesmo assim lhe ei de fazer;
10 ‘I, the Lord, will transfer the kingship from Saul’s family and establish David’s throne over Israel and Judah from Dan to Beersheba.’ ”
10 para transladar o reino da casa de Saul, e estabelecer o trono de Davi sobre Israel e sobre Judá, de Dã até Berseba.
11 Ishbosheth couldn’t respond to a single word, because he was afraid of Abner.
11 E ele não conseguiu responder nenhuma outra palavra a Abner, porque o temeu.
12 Then Abner sent messengers to David to speak on his behalf. “Who owns this country?” he asked. “Make an agreement with me,” he said. “I’ll support you and bring all Israel to you.”
12 E Abner enviou mensageiros a Davi em seu favor, dizendo: De quem é a terra? Dizendo também: Faz o teu pacto comigo, e, eis que a minha mão será contigo, para trazer a ti todo o Israel.
13 “Good!” David answered. “I’ll make an agreement with you. But there’s one condition: You can’t come to see me unless you bring Michal, Saul’s daughter, when you come.”
13 E ele disse: Bem, farei um pacto contigo; porém uma coisa exijo de ti, a saber: Tu não verás a minha face, exceto se primeiro trouxeres Mical, filha de Saul, quando vieres ver a minha face.
14 Then David sent messengers to Saul’s son Ishbosheth to say, “Give me my wife Michal. I made a payment of 100 Philistine foreskins for her.”
14 E Davi enviou mensageiro a Isbosete, filho de Saul dizendo: Entrega-me a minha esposa Mical, a quem tomei por esposa por uma centena de prepúcios dos filisteus.
15 So Ishbosheth sent men to take her from her husband Paltiel, son of Laish.
15 E Isbosete enviou, e tomou-a do seu marido, a saber, de Paltiel, o filho de Laís.
16 Her husband went with her and cried over her all the way to Bahurim. “Go home,” Abner told him. So he went home.
16 E o marido seguiu com ela, chorando detrás dela, até Baurim. Então, disse Abner a ele: Vai, retorna. E ele retornou.
17 Meanwhile, Abner sent the following message to the leaders of Israel: “For some time now you’ve wanted to make David your king.
17 E Abner fez comunicação com os anciãos de Israel, dizendo: Vós procurastes Davi em tempos passados para ser rei sobre vós;
18 Do it now, because the Lord said about David: ‘I will save my people Israel from the Philistines and all their other enemies through my servant David.’ ”
18 agora, então, fazei-o; porque o SENHOR falou acerca de Davi, dizendo: Pela mão do meu servo Davi salvarei o meu povo Israel da mão dos filisteus, e da mão de todos os seus inimigos.
19 Abner also spoke specifically to the people of Benjamin.
19 E Abner também falou aos ouvidos de Benjamim, e Abner também foi falar aos ouvidos de Davi em Hebrom tudo o que parecia bom para Israel, e isso pareceu bom a toda a casa de Benjamim.
20 So Abner came with 20 men to David in Hebron, and David had a feast for Abner and his men.
20 Assim, Abner veio até Davi em Hebrom, e com ele vinte homens. E Davi fez para Abner, e para os homens que estavam com ele, uma festa.
21 Abner told David, “I must go now so that I can gather all Israel for you, Your Majesty. They will make a treaty with you, and you will rule everything your heart desires.” Then David dismissed Abner, who left peacefully.
21 E Abner disse a Davi: Levantar-me-ei e irei, e reunirei todo o Israel ao meu senhor, o rei, para que eles possam fazer um pacto contigo, e para que tu possas reinar sobre tudo o que desejar o teu coração. E Davi despediu Abner; e ele se foi em paz.
22 Just then David’s men and Joab were coming home from a raid with a lot of goods. Abner had been dismissed, so he was no longer with David in Hebron.
22 E, eis que os servos de Davi e Joabe chegavam da perseguição a uma tropa, e traziam consigo um grande despojo, mas Abner não estava com Davi em Hebrom; porque ele o havia despedido, e ele tinha partido em paz.
23 When Joab came back with the whole army, he was told, “Ner’s son Abner came to the king, but David dismissed him, and Abner left peacefully.”
23 Quando Joabe e todo o exército que estava com ele chegaram, contaram a Joabe, dizendo: Abner, o filho de Ner, veio até ao rei, e ele o despediu, e ele se foi em paz.
24 Then Joab went to the king and asked, “What have you done? Abner came to see you. Why did you dismiss him and let him get away?
24 Então Joabe veio até ao rei, e disse: O que fizeste? Eis que Abner veio a ti; por que o despediste, e ele já se foi?
25 Certainly you must know that Ner’s son Abner came to deceive you, to find out about your movements and learn everything you’re doing!”
25 Tu sabes que Abner, o filho de Ner, veio para te enganar, e para conhecer a tua saída e a tua entrada, e para conhecer tudo o que fazes.
26 After leaving David, Joab sent messengers after Abner. They brought him back from the cistern of Sirah without David knowing about it.
26 E quando Joabe havia partido de Davi, ele enviou mensageiros atrás de Abner, os quais o trouxeram de volta do poço de Sirá; mas Davi não soube disso.
27 When Abner returned to Hebron, Joab took him aside in the gateway as if to talk to him privately. There he stabbed Abner in the belly. Abner died because he spilled the blood of Joab’s brother Asahel.
27 E quando Abner havia retornado de Hebrom, Joabe tomou-o de lado no portão para falar-lhe quietamente, e ali o feriu debaixo da quinta costela, de modo que morreu, por causa do sangue de Asael, seu irmão.
28 Later when David heard about it, he said, “As far as the Lord is concerned, my kingdom and I are forever innocent of spilling the blood of Ner’s son Abner.
28 E, posteriormente, quando Davi ouviu isto, disse: Eu e o meu reino somos inocentes diante do SENHOR para sempre do sangue de Abner, o filho de Ner.
29 May the blame fall on the head of Joab and all of his family. May there always be members of Joab’s family who have oozing sores and skin diseases, who can only work a spindle, who die in battle, and who never have any food.”
29 Que isso recaia sobre a cabeça de Joabe; e sobre toda a casa do seu pai; e que nunca falte na casa de Joabe quem tenha uma anomalia, ou que seja leproso, ou que se escore em cajado, ou que caia à espada, ou que tenha falta de pão.
30 (Joab and his brother Abishai killed Abner because he had killed their brother Asahel in the battle at Gibeon.)
30 Assim, Joabe e Abisai, o seu irmão, mataram Abner, porquanto tinha matado Asael, irmão deles na batalha em Gibeão.
31 David told Joab and all the people with him, “Tear your clothes, put on sackcloth, and mourn for Abner.” King David followed the open casket.
31 E Davi disse a Joabe, e a todo o povo que estava com ele: Rasgai as vossas vestes, e cingi-vos de panos de saco, e lamentai-vos diante de Abner. E o próprio Davi seguiu o ataúde.
32 They buried Abner in Hebron. The king cried loudly at Abner’s grave, and all the people cried.
32 E sepultaram Abner em Hebrom; e o rei levantou a sua voz, e chorou junto ao sepulcro de Abner; e todo o povo chorou.
33 The king sang a funeral song for Abner:
33 E o rei lamentou por Abner, e disse: Morreu Abner como morre um tolo?
34 Your hands were not tied.
34 As tuas mãos não estavam atadas, nem os teus pés em cadeias; como um homem cai diante de homens ímpios, assim caíste tu. E todo o povo voltou a chorar por ele.
35 That entire day all the people tried to get David to eat some food. But David had taken an oath: “May God strike me dead if I taste any food or anything else before the sun goes down.”
35 E quando todo o povo veio para fazer com que Davi comesse carne enquanto ainda era dia, Davi jurou, dizendo: Assim faça Deus para comigo, e ainda mais, se eu provar pão, ou qualquer outra coisa, até que se ponha o sol.
36 Then all the people understood and approved of this, as all the people approved of everything the king did.
36 E todo o povo percebeu isto, e isto lhes agradou; como tudo o que o rei fazia agradava todo o povo.
37 That day all the people of Israel knew the king wasn’t responsible for killing Ner’s son Abner.
37 Porque todo o povo e todo o Israel entendeu naquele dia que não foi do rei a morte de Abner, o filho de Ner.
38 The king said to his officers, “Don’t you know that today a leader, a great man, has fallen in Israel?
38 E o rei disse aos seus servos: Não sabeis que há um príncipe e um grande homem caído neste dia em Israel?
39 Today I’m weak, though I’m the anointed king. These men, Zeruiah’s sons, are too cruel for me. May the Lord repay this evildoer as his evil deeds deserve.”
39 E eu estou fraco neste dia, mesmo sendo um rei ungido; e estes homens, filhos de Zeruia, são sobremaneira duros para mim; o SENHOR retribuirá ao perpetrador do mal segundo a sua impiedade.
