GOD'S WORD (ENGGW) vs BKJ
1 Soon after this, Absalom acquired a chariot, horses, and 50 men to run ahead of him.
1 E sucedeu, depois disso, que Absalão preparou para si carruagens e cavalos, e cinquenta homens que corressem adiante dele.
2 Absalom used to get up early and stand by the road leading to the city gate. When anyone had a case to be tried by King David, Absalom would ask, “Which city are you from?”
2 E Absalão se levantou cedo, e se pôs ao lado do caminho do portão; e assim foi que, quando qualquer homem que tinha uma controvérsia vinha até o rei para juízo, então Absalão o chamava, e dizia: De que cidade és tu? E ele dizia: O teu servo é de uma das tribos de Israel.
3 Absalom would say, “Your case is good and proper, but the king hasn’t appointed anyone to hear it.”
3 E Absalão lhe dizia: Vê, as tuas questões são boas e retas; porém não há homem algum designado pelo rei para te ouvir.
4 He would add, “I wish someone would make me judge in the land. Then anyone who had a case to be tried could come to me, and I would make sure that he got justice.”
4 Absalão disse ainda: Ah se eu fosse feito juiz na terra, para que cada homem que tivesse qualquer processo ou causa pudesse vir até mim, e eu lhe faria justiça!
5 When anyone approached him and bowed down, Absalom would reach out, take hold of him, and kiss him.
5 E assim foi que, quando qualquer homem dele se aproximava para lhe prestar reverência, ele estendia a sua mão, pegava-o e o beijava.
6 This is what he did for all Israelites who came to the king to have him try their case. So Absalom stole the hearts of the people of Israel.
6 E deste modo fazia Absalão a todo o Israel que vinha até o rei para juízo; assim Absalão roubou os corações dos homens de Israel.
7 Four years later Absalom said to the king, “Let me go to Hebron and keep the vow I made to the Lord.
7 E sucedeu que, depois de quarenta anos, Absalão disse ao rei: Rogo-te, deixa-me ir pagar o meu voto, o qual votei ao SENHOR, em Hebrom.
8 I made a vow while I was living at Geshur in Aram. I said, ‘If the Lord will bring me back to Jerusalem, I will serve the Lord.’ ”
8 Porque o teu servo votou um voto enquanto eu permaneci em Gesur, na Síria, dizendo: Se o SENHOR me trouxer de volta a Jerusalém, então servirei o SENHOR.
9 “Go in peace,” the king told him.
9 E o rei disse a ele: Vai em paz. Então ele se levantou e seguiu para Hebrom.
10 But Absalom sent his loyal supporters to all the tribes of Israel and said, “When you hear the sound of the ram’s horn, say, ‘Absalom has become king in Hebron.’ ”
10 Absalão, no entanto, enviou espiões a todas as tribos de Israel, dizendo: Tão logo ouvirdes o som da trombeta, direis: Absalão reina em Hebrom.
11 Two hundred men invited from Jerusalem went with Absalom. They went innocently, knowing nothing ⌞about Absalom’s plans⌟.
11 E com Absalão foram duzentos homens de Jerusalém, que foram chamados; e eles foram na sua simplicidade, e não sabiam de nada.
12 While Absalom was offering sacrifices, he sent for Ahithophel, David’s adviser, to come from his home in Giloh. Meanwhile, the conspiracy grew stronger, and the number of people siding with Absalom kept getting larger.
12 E Absalão enviou a Aitofel, o gilonita, o conselheiro de Davi, da sua cidade de Giló, enquanto ele oferecia sacrifícios. E a conspiração foi forte; porque o povo aumentava continuamente com Absalão.
13 Someone came to tell David, “The hearts of the people of Israel are with Absalom.”
13 E ali chegou um mensageiro a Davi, dizendo: Os corações dos homens de Israel estão com Absalão.
14 David told all his men who were with him in Jerusalem, “Let’s flee immediately, or none of us will escape from Absalom. Let’s leave right away, or he’ll catch up to us and bring disaster on us when he massacres the city.”
14 E Davi disse a todos os seus servos que estavam com ele em Jerusalém: Levantai-vos e fujamos; pois, de outra sorte, não escaparemos de Absalão; apressai-vos para partir, para que ele não nos alcance subitamente, e traga o mal sobre nós, e fira a cidade com o fio da espada.
15 The king’s servants told him, “No matter what happens, we are Your Majesty’s servants.”
15 E os servos do rei disseram ao rei: Eis que os teus servos estão prontos para fazer qualquer coisa que o meu senhor, o rei, indicar.
16 The king left on foot, and his whole household followed him except ten concubines whom the king left behind to take care of the palace.
16 E o rei seguiu, e após ele toda a sua casa. E o rei deixou dez mulheres, as quais eram concubinas, para cuidar da casa.
17 As the king and his troops were leaving the city on foot, they stopped at the last house.
17 E o rei se foi, e após ele todo o povo, e esperou em um local afastado.
18 All his mercenaries passed by him; all the Cherethites, all the Pelethites, Ittai, and all 600 men who had followed him from Gath were marching past the king.
18 E todos os seus servos passaram adiante dele; e todos os quereteus, e todos os peleteus e todos os geteus, seiscentos homens, os quais vieram atrás dele desde Gate, passaram adiante do rei.
19 The king asked Ittai from Gath, “Why should you go with us? Go back, and stay with King Absalom. You are a foreigner, an exile from your homeland.
19 Então disse o rei a Itai, o geteu: Por que tu vais também conosco? Retorna ao teu lugar, e permanece com o rei; porque tu és um estrangeiro, e também um exilado.
20 You came to us just yesterday. Should I make you wander around with me when I don’t even know where I’m going? Go back, and take your countrymen with you. ⌞May the \+nd Lord\+nd*⌟ always show you kindness.”
20 Posto que vieste somente ontem, deveria eu, hoje, fazer-te subir e descer conosco? Vendo que vou para onde posso, retorna, e traz de volta os teus irmãos; misericórdia e verdade sejam contigo.
21 But Ittai answered the king, “I solemnly swear, as the Lord and the king live: Wherever you are, whether you’re dead or alive, I’ll be there.”
21 E Itai respondeu ao rei, e disse: Como o SENHOR vive, e como o meu senhor, o rei, vive, certamente no lugar em que o senhor, o rei, estiver, seja na morte ou vida, ali também estará o teu servo.
22 So David told Ittai, “Go ahead and keep marching.” So Ittai from Gath marched on with all his men and all the families who were with him.
22 E Davi disse a Itai: Vai e atravessa. E Itai, o geteu, atravessou, e todos os seus homens, e todos os pequeninos que estavam com ele.
23 The whole country was crying loudly as all the troops were passing by. The king was crossing the Kidron Valley, and all the people were moving down the road toward the desert.
23 E toda a terra chorou com voz alta, e todo o povo atravessou; o rei também atravessou o ribeiro de Cedrom, e todo o povo atravessou, em direção ao caminho do deserto.
24 Zadok and all the Levites with him were carrying the ark of God’s promise. They set down the ark of God beside Abiathar until all the troops had withdrawn from the city.
24 E eis que também Zadoque, e todos os levitas estavam com ele, carregando a arca do pacto de Deus; e eles assentaram a arca de Deus; e Abiatar subiu, até que todo o povo terminou de sair da cidade.
25 The king told Zadok, “Take God’s ark back to the city. If the Lord looks favorably on me, he will allow me to come back and see both it and its dwelling place again.
25 E o rei disse a Zadoque: Carrega de novo a arca de Deus para dentro da cidade; se eu achar favor aos olhos do SENHOR, ele me trará de novo, e me mostrará tanto ela, quanto a sua habitação;
26 But if he says, ‘I’m not pleased with you,’ let him do to me what he considers right.”
26 mas se ele assim disser: Não tenho em ti deleite algum; eis que aqui estou, que ele faça comigo como bem lhe parecer.
27 “Aren’t you a seer?” the king asked Zadok the priest. “Go back to the city peacefully, and take your son Ahimaaz and Abiathar’s son Jonathan with you.
27 O rei disse também a Zadoque, o sacerdote: Não és tu um vidente? Retorna à cidade em paz, e convosco os vossos dois filhos, Aimaás, o teu filho e Jônatas, o filho de Abiatar.
28 I’ll wait at the river crossings in the desert until I receive a message from you.”
28 Vê que esperarei na planície do deserto, até que ali chegue palavra vinda de ti para me certificar.
29 So Zadok and Abiathar took the ark of God back to Jerusalem and stayed there.
29 Portanto, Zadoque e Abiatar carregaram a arca de Deus de volta a Jerusalém; e eles esperaram ali.
30 David cried as he went up the Mount of Olives. He covered his head and walked barefoot. And all of the troops with him covered their heads and cried as they went.
30 E Davi subiu pela subida do Monte das Oliveiras, e chorava enquanto subia, e tinha a cabeça coberta, e seguia de pés descalços; e todo o povo que estava com ele cobria, cada qual, a sua cabeça, e subiam, chorando enquanto subiam.
31 Then David was told, “Ahithophel is among those conspiring with Absalom.” So David prayed, “Lord, make Ahithophel’s advice foolish.”
31 E contaram a Davi, dizendo: Aitofel está entre os conspiradores de Absalão. E Davi disse: Ó SENHOR, rogo-te, torna em loucura o conselho de Aitofel.
32 When David came to the top ⌞of the Mount of Olives⌟ where people worshiped God, Hushai from Archi’s family was there to meet him. His clothes were torn, and he had dirt on his head.
32 E sucedeu que, quando Davi chegou ao topo do monte, onde ele adorava a Deus, eis que Husai, o arquita, veio encontrá-lo com as suas vestes rasgadas, e terra sobre a sua cabeça;
33 David told him, “If you go with me, you will only be a burden to me.
33 a quem Davi disse: Se passares adiante comigo, então tu serás um fardo para mim;
34 But if you go back to the city and say to Absalom, ‘Your Majesty, I’ll be your servant. I was your father’s servant in the past, but now I’ll be your servant,’ then you’ll ⌞help me by⌟ undoing Ahithophel’s advice.
34 mas, se retornares à cidade, e disseres a Absalão, serei teu servo, ó rei; como eu fui servo do teu pai até aqui, assim serei, agora, também teu servo; então poderás derrotar o conselho de Aitofel para mim.
35 The priests Zadok and Abiathar will be with you there. When you hear anything from the royal palace, tell it to the priests Zadok and Abiathar.
35 E não tens tu aí contigo Zadoque e Abiatar, os sacerdotes? Portanto será que qualquer coisa que ouvires da casa do rei, tu a contarás a Zadoque e a Abiatar, os sacerdotes.
36 They have two sons with them: Zadok has Ahimaaz, and Abiathar has Jonathan. Send them to report to me anything you hear.”
36 Eis que eles têm ali com eles os seus dois filhos, Aimaás, filho de Zadoque, e Jônatas, filho de Abiatar; e por eles vós enviareis a mim tudo o que puderes ouvir.
37 So Hushai, David’s friend, went to the city as Absalom was entering Jerusalem.
37 Assim, Husai, o amigo de Davi, entrou na cidade, e Absalão entrou em Jerusalém.
