GOD'S WORD (ENGGW) vs NAA
1 The prophet Elisha called one of the disciples of the prophets. He said, “Put on your belt. Take this flask of olive oil, and go to Ramoth Gilead.
1 Então o profeta Eliseu chamou um dos discípulos dos profetas e lhe disse: — Prepare-se, leve com você este vaso de azeite e vá até Ramote-Gileade.
2 When you arrive there, look for Jehu, son of Jehoshaphat and grandson of Nimshi. Go inside, and have him get up and leave his companions. Take him into an inner room.
2 Quando chegar lá, procure Jeú, filho de Josafá, filho de Ninsi. Entre no lugar onde ele estiver, peça que ele se levante do meio de seus companheiros e leve-o para uma câmara interior.
3 Take the flask of oil, pour it on his head, and say, ‘This is what the Lord says: I have anointed you king of Israel.’ Then open the door and leave immediately.”
3 Pegue o vaso de azeite, derrame o azeite sobre a cabeça dele e diga: Assim diz o Senhor : “Eu o ungi para ser rei sobre Israel.” Depois, abra a porta e fuja depressa.
4 The young man, the servant of the prophet, went to Ramoth Gilead.
4 O rapaz, o jovem profeta, foi até Ramote-Gileade.
5 When he arrived there, the army’s generals were sitting together. He said, “I have something to tell you, General.”
5 Quando chegou lá, eis que os capitães do exército estavam reunidos. Ele disse: — Capitão, tenho uma mensagem para o senhor. Ao que Jeú perguntou: — Para qual de nós? O rapaz respondeu: — Para o senhor, capitão!
6 Jehu got up and went into the house. The prophet poured olive oil on his head and told him, “This is what the Lord God of Israel says: I have anointed you king of the Lord’s people, ⌞king⌟ of Israel.
6 Então Jeú se levantou e entrou na casa. O jovem derramou o azeite sobre a cabeça de Jeú e lhe disse: — Assim diz o
7 You will destroy the family of your master Ahab. I will get revenge on Jezebel for shedding the blood of my servants the prophets and all the Lord’s ⌞other⌟ servants.
7 Você porá fim à casa de Acabe, seu senhor, para que eu vingue da mão de Jezabel o sangue de meus servos, os profetas, e o sangue de todos os servos do Senhor .
8 Ahab’s entire family will die. I will destroy every male from Ahab’s family, whether slave or freeman in Israel.
8 Toda a casa de Acabe perecerá. Eliminarei de Acabe todos do sexo masculino, quer escravo, quer livre, em Israel.
9 I will make Ahab’s family like the family of Jeroboam (Nebat’s son) and like the family of Baasha, son of Ahijah.
9 Porque farei com a casa de Acabe o mesmo que fiz com a casa de Jeroboão, filho de Nebate, e com a casa de Baasa, filho de Aías.
10 Dogs will eat Jezebel inside the walls of Jezreel, and no one will bury her.” Then he opened the door and left.
10 Os cães devorarão Jezabel no campo de Jezreel; não haverá quem a sepulte.” Dito isto, abriu a porta e fugiu.
11 Jehu came out to his master’s officials. One of them asked him, “Is everything alright? Why did this lunatic come to you?”
11 Jeú saiu e voltou para junto dos outros servos de seu senhor, que lhe perguntaram: — Está tudo bem? Por que esse louco veio falar com você? Ele respondeu: — Vocês conhecem esse homem e sabem as coisas que ele anda dizendo.
12 They said, “That’s not an answer. Please tell us.”
12 Mas eles disseram: — É mentira! Por favor, conte-nos o que ele disse. Então Jeú disse: — Assim e assim me falou, a saber: Assim diz o
13 Then each one of them immediately took off his coat and laid it on the stairs below him. They blew a ram’s horn and said, “Jehu is king!”
13 Então eles se apressaram e, tomando cada um o seu manto, os puseram debaixo dele, sobre os degraus, e tocaram a trombeta, e disseram: — Jeú é rei!
14 So Jehu, son of Jehoshaphat and grandson of Nimshi, plotted against Joram. (Joram and all Israel were guarding Ramoth Gilead against King Hazael of Aram.
14 Assim, Jeú, filho de Josafá, filho de Ninsi, conspirou contra Jorão. Ora, Jorão tinha estado em Ramote-Gileade, ele e todo o Israel, para defendê-la de Hazael, rei da Síria.
15 But King Joram had returned to Jezreel to recover from the wounds he received while fighting King Hazael of Aram.)
15 Porém o rei Jorão voltou a Jezreel para se curar dos ferimentos que os sírios lhe haviam causado, quando lutou contra Hazael, rei da Síria. Jeú disse aos demais capitães do exército: — Se é da vontade de vocês, que ninguém saia escondido da cidade, para ir anunciar isto em Jezreel.
16 So Jehu got on his chariot and drove to Jezreel because Joram was lying in bed there. (King Ahaziah of Judah had come to see Joram.)
16 Então Jeú subiu num carro de guerra e foi para Jezreel, porque Jorão estava de cama ali. Também Acazias, rei de Judá, tinha ido visitar Jorão.
17 The watchman standing on the tower in Jezreel saw Jehu’s troops coming. He said, “I see some troops.”
17 A sentinela que estava na torre de Jezreel viu a tropa de Jeú, que se aproximava, e disse: — Vejo uma tropa. Jorão disse: — Chame um cavaleiro e diga que vá ao encontro deles, para perguntar: “Vocês vêm em paz?”
18 So a chariot driver rode off, met Jehu, and said, “The king asks, ‘Is everything alright?’ ”
18 O cavaleiro foi ao encontro de Jeú e disse: — Assim diz o rei: “Vocês vêm em paz?” Jeú respondeu: — O que você tem a ver com a paz? Passe para trás de mim. A sentinela deu aviso, dizendo: — O mensageiro chegou até eles, mas não está voltando.
19 Then Joram sent out a second driver. When he came to them, he said, “The king asks, ‘Is everything alright?’ ”
19 Então o rei Jorão mandou outro cavaleiro. Quando ele chegou até eles, disse: — Assim diz o rei: “Vocês vêm em paz?” Jeú respondeu: — O que você tem a ver com a paz? Passe para trás de mim.
20 So the watchman announced, “He has reached them, but he isn’t coming back. The troop’s leader is driving like a lunatic, like Jehu, grandson of Nimshi.”
20 A sentinela deu aviso, dizendo: — Também este chegou até eles, mas não está voltando. E o guiar do carro parece como o de Jeú, filho de Ninsi, porque ele está guiando como um louco.
21 “Hitch the horses to the chariot,” Joram ordered. When that was done, King Joram of Israel and King Ahaziah of Judah went to meet Jehu, each in his own chariot. They found him in the field that belonged to Naboth from Jezreel.
21 Jorão disse: — Preparem o meu carro de guerra! E eles o prepararam. Jorão, rei de Israel, saiu, e Acazias, rei de Judá, foi com ele, cada um em seu carro de guerra. Foram ao encontro de Jeú, e o acharam no campo de Nabote, o jezreelita.
22 When Joram saw Jehu, he asked, “Is everything alright, Jehu?”
22 Ao ver Jeú, o rei Jorão perguntou: — Jeú, você vem em paz? Ele respondeu: — Que paz, se ainda continuam as prostituições de sua mãe Jezabel e as suas muitas feitiçarias?
23 As Joram turned his chariot around and tried to flee, he said to Ahaziah, “It’s a trap, Ahaziah!”
23 Então Jorão deu meia-volta e fugiu, gritando para Acazias: — É uma traição, Acazias!
24 But Jehu took his bow and shot Joram between the shoulders. The arrow came out of his chest, and he slumped over in his chariot.
24 Mas Jeú entesou o seu arco com toda a força e atingiu Jorão entre os ombros; a flecha atravessou o coração, e ele caiu morto no seu carro de guerra.
25 Then Jehu said to his attendant Bidkar, “Take him away, and throw him into the field that belonged to Naboth from Jezreel. Remember when you and I were driving our chariots behind his father Ahab? The Lord revealed this prophecy about him:
25 Então Jeú disse a Bidcar, seu capitão: — Levante-o e jogue-o no campo que era de Nabote, o jezreelita. Lembre-se de que, quando eu e você, juntos, vínhamos andando a cavalo atrás de Acabe, o pai de Jorão, o
26 ‘Just as I saw the blood of Naboth and his sons yesterday, I will pay you back in this field,’ declares the Lord. Now take him and throw him into the field as the Lord predicted.”
26 “Tão certo como vi ontem à tarde o sangue de Nabote e o sangue de seus filhos, diz o Senhor , assim neste campo eu darei a retribuição que você merece”, diz o Senhor . Agora, pois, pegue-o e jogue-o neste campo, segundo a palavra do Senhor .
27 When King Ahaziah of Judah saw this, he fled on the road leading to Beth Haggan. Jehu pursued him and ordered, “Shoot him down in his chariot.” They shot him at Gur Pass, which is near Ibleam. Ahaziah continued to flee until he got to Megiddo, where he died.
27 À vista disto, Acazias, rei de Judá, fugiu pelo caminho de Bete-Hagã. Mas Jeú o perseguiu e disse: — Matem também a este! E eles o atingiram dentro do carro de guerra, na subida de Gur, perto de Ibleão. Acazias fugiu para Megido, onde morreu.
28 His servants brought him in a chariot to Jerusalem. They buried him in a tomb with his ancestors in the City of David.
28 Os servos dele o levaram, num carro, para Jerusalém e o sepultaram no seu túmulo junto a seus pais, na Cidade de Davi.
29 (Ahaziah had become king of Judah in the eleventh year that Joram, Ahab’s son, was king of Israel.)
29 Acazias havia começado a reinar sobre Judá no décimo primeiro ano do reinado de Jorão, filho de Acabe.
30 When Jehu arrived in Jezreel, Jezebel heard about it. She put on eye shadow, fixed her hair, and looked out of a second-story window.
30 Jeú chegou a Jezreel, e Jezabel ficou sabendo disso. Então ela se pintou em volta dos olhos, enfeitou a cabeça e olhou pela janela.
31 When Jehu entered the gateway, she asked, “Is everything alright, Zimri, murderer of your master?”
31 Quando Jeú entrou pelo portão do palácio, ela gritou: — Correu tudo bem com Zinri, o assassino do seu senhor?
32 Looking up at the window, he asked, “Is anyone on my side? Anyone?” Then two or three eunuchs looked out at him.
32 Jeú ergueu o rosto, olhou para a janela e perguntou: — Quem está do meu lado? Quem? E dois ou três oficiais olharam para ele.
33 He said, “Throw her down.” They threw her down, and some of her blood splattered on the wall and the horses. The horses trampled her.
33 Então ele disse: — Joguem-na pela janela! E eles a jogaram. O sangue dela salpicou a parede e os cavalos, e Jeú a atropelou.
34 He went inside, ate, and drank. Then he said, “Take care of this woman who had a curse on her. After all, she was a king’s daughter.”
34 Jeú entrou no palácio, comeu e bebeu. Depois disse: — Tomem conta daquela maldita e sepultem o corpo, porque ela é filha de rei.
35 But when they went out to bury her, they couldn’t find any of her body except her skull, feet, and hands.
35 Mas os que foram sepultá-la não acharam dela nada mais do que a caveira, os pés e as palmas das mãos.
36 They came back and told him.
36 Então voltaram e contaram isso a Jeú. Ele disse: — Esta é a palavra do
37 Jezebel’s corpse will be like manure on the ground in the fields surrounding Jezreel so that no one will be able to say that this is Jezebel.’ ”
37 O cadáver de Jezabel será como esterco sobre a terra no campo de Jezreel, de maneira que ninguém poderá dizer: ‘Esta é Jezabel.’”
