GOD'S WORD (ENGGW) vs BKJ
1 Jehoahaz’s son King Jehoash was in his second year as king of Israel when King Amaziah, son of Joash of Judah, began to rule.
1 No segundo ano de Jeoás, filho de Jeoacaz, rei de Israel, reinou Amazias, o filho de Joás, rei de Judá.
2 Amaziah was 25 years old when he began to rule, and he ruled for 29 years in Jerusalem. His mother was Jehoaddin from Jerusalem.
2 Ele tinha vinte e cinco anos de idade quando começou a reinar; e reinou vinte e nove anos em Jerusalém. E o nome da sua mãe era Jeoadã de Jerusalém.
3 He did what the Lord considered right, but not exactly what his ancestor David had done. He did everything his father Joash had done.
3 E ele fez aquilo que era reto à vista do SENHOR, todavia não como Davi, o seu pai; ele fez segundo todas as coisas, como fez Joás, o seu pai.
4 But the illegal places of worship were still not torn down. The people continued to offer sacrifices and burn incense at these worship sites.
4 Todavia, os lugares altos não foram removidos; até aquele momento o povo sacrificava e queimava incenso nos lugares altos.
5 As soon as he had a firm control over the kingdom, he executed the officials who had killed his father, the former king.
5 E sucedeu, tão logo o reino foi confirmado na sua mão, que ele matou os seus servos que haviam matado o rei, o seu pai.
6 But he didn’t execute their children. He obeyed the Lord’s command written in the Book of Moses’ Teachings: “Parents must never be put to death for the crimes of their children, and children must never be put to death for the crimes of their parents. Each person must be put to death for his own crime.”
6 Porém os filhos dos assassinos ele não matou; segundo o que está escrito no livro da lei de Moisés, no qual o SENHOR ordenou, dizendo: Os pais não serão levados à morte pelos filhos, nem os filhos serão levados à morte pelos pais; mas cada homem será levado à morte pelo seu próprio pecado.
7 Amaziah killed 10,000 Edomites in the Dead Sea region and took the city of Sela in battle. He gave it the name Joktheel, which is still its name today.
7 Ele matou, de Edom, no vale do Sal, dez mil, e tomou Sela por guerra, e chamou o seu nome de Jocteel até este dia.
8 Then Amaziah sent messengers to King Jehoash, son of Jehoahaz and grandson of Jehu of Israel, to declare war on Israel.
8 Então, Amazias enviou mensageiros a Jeoás, o filho de Jeoacaz, filho de Jeú, rei de Israel, dizendo: Vem, olhemo-nos um a face do outro.
9 King Jehoash of Israel sent this message to King Amaziah of Judah: “A thistle in Lebanon sent a message to a cedar in Lebanon. It said, ‘Let your daughter marry my son,’ but a wild animal from Lebanon came along and trampled the thistle.
9 E Jeoás, o rei de Israel, mandou dizer a Amazias, o rei de Judá: O cardo que estava no Líbano mandou dizer ao cedro que estava no Líbano: Dá a tua filha para o meu filho como esposa; e ali passava um animal selvagem que estava no Líbano, e pisoteou o cardo.
10 You certainly defeated Edom, and now you have become arrogant. Enjoy your fame, but stay home. Why must you invite disaster and your own defeat and take Judah with you?”
10 Tu, na verdade, tens ferido a Edom, e o teu coração tem te exaltado; gloria-te disto, e detenha-te na tua casa; afinal por que mexerias com a tua dor, para que caias, de fato, tu, e contigo Judá?
11 But Amaziah wouldn’t listen. So King Jehoash of Israel attacked, and King Amaziah of Judah met him in battle at Beth Shemesh in Judah.
11 Porém Amazias não quis ouvir. Portanto, Jeoás, rei de Israel, subiu; e ele e Amazias, rei de Judá, olharam na face um do outro em Bete-Semes, que pertence a Judá.
12 Israel defeated the army of Judah, and the Judeans fled to their homes.
12 E Judá foi derrotado por Israel; e fugiram, cada homem, para suas tendas.
13 King Jehoash of Israel captured King Amaziah, son of Joash and grandson of Ahaziah of Judah, at Beth Shemesh and went to Jerusalem. He tore down a 600-foot section of the wall around Jerusalem from Ephraim Gate to Corner Gate.
13 E Jeoás, rei de Israel, pegou Amazias, rei de Judá, o filho de Joás, o filho de Acazias, em Bete-Semes, e veio até Jerusalém, e demoliu o muro de Jerusalém, desde o portão de Efraim, até ao portão da esquina, quatrocentos côvados.
14 He took all the gold, silver, and all the utensils he found in the Lord’s temple and in the royal palace treasury. He also took hostages. Then he returned to Samaria.
14 E ele tomou todo o ouro e prata, e todos os vasos que foram achados na casa do SENHOR, e nos tesouros da casa do rei, e reféns, e retornou a Samaria.
15 Isn’t everything else about Jehoash—what he did, his heroic acts when he fought against King Amaziah of Judah—written in the official records of the kings of Israel?
15 Ora, o restante dos atos de Jeoás, e tudo o que ele fez, e o seu poder, e a forma como ele lutou contra Amazias, rei de Judá, não estão escritos no livro das Crônicas dos reis de Israel?
16 Jehoash lay down in death with his ancestors and was buried with the kings of Israel in Samaria. His son Jeroboam succeeded him as king.
16 E Jeoás dormiu com os seus pais, e foi sepultado em Samaria com os reis de Israel; e Jeroboão, o seu filho, reinou no seu lugar.
17 Joash’s son King Amaziah of Judah lived 15 years after the death of Jehoahaz’s son King Jehoash of Israel.
17 E viveu Amazias, o filho de Joás, rei de Judá, depois da morte de Jeoás, filho de Jeoacaz, rei de Israel, quinze anos.
18 Isn’t everything else about Amaziah written in the official records of the kings of Judah?
18 E o restante dos atos de Amazias, não estão escritos no livro das Crônicas dos reis de Judá?
19 Conspirators in Jerusalem plotted against him, so he fled to Lachish. But they sent men to Lachish after him and killed him there.
19 Ora, fizeram conspiração contra ele em Jerusalém; e ele fugiu para Laquis; mas eles enviaram após ele a Laquis, e lá o mataram.
20 They brought him back by horse, and he was buried in Jerusalem, in the City of David, with his ancestors.
20 E o trouxeram sobre cavalos; e ele foi sepultado em Jerusalém, com os seus pais, na cidade de Davi.
21 All the people of Judah took Azariah, who was 16 years old, and made him king in place of his father Amaziah.
21 E todo o povo de Judá tomou Azarias, que tinha dezesseis anos de idade, e fê-lo rei em lugar do seu pai, Amazias.
22 Azariah rebuilt Elath and returned it to Judah after King Amaziah lay down in death with his ancestors.
22 Ele edificou Elate, e a restituiu a Judá, depois disto, o rei dormiu com os seus pais.
23 Joash’s son Amaziah was in his fifteenth year as king of Judah when Jehoash’s son King Jeroboam of Israel began to rule in Samaria. Jeroboam ruled for 41 years.
23 No décimo quinto ano de Amazias, o filho de Joás, rei de Judá, Jeroboão, o filho de Joás, rei de Israel, começou a reinar em Samaria, e reinou quarenta e um anos.
24 He did what the Lord considered evil. He didn’t turn away from any of the sins that Jeroboam (Nebat’s son) led Israel to commit.
24 E ele fez aquilo que era mau à vista do SENHOR; ele não se afastou de todos os pecados de Jeroboão, o filho de Nebate, que fez Israel pecar.
25 He restored Israel’s boundaries from the border of Hamath to the Dead Sea as the Lord God of Israel predicted through his servant Jonah, the prophet from Gath Hepher and the son of Amittai.
25 Ele restituiu o termo de Israel, desde a entrada de Hamate até o mar da planície, segundo a palavra do SENHOR Deus de Israel, a qual Ele falou pela mão do seu servo Jonas, o filho de Amitai, o profeta, o qual era de Gate-Hefer.
26 The Lord did this because he saw how bitterly everyone in Israel was suffering. No slave or free person could help Israel.
26 Porque o SENHOR viu a aflição de Israel, que era mui amarga; porque não havia nenhum escravo, nem livre, tampouco algum ajudador para Israel.
27 Since the Lord had said he was not going to wipe out Israel’s name completely, he saved them through Jeroboam, son of Jehoash.
27 E o SENHOR não disse que apagaria o nome de Israel de debaixo do céu; mas salvou-lhes pela mão de Jeroboão, o filho de Jeoás.
28 Isn’t everything else about Jeroboam—everything he did, his heroic acts when he fought, how he recovered Damascus and Hamath for Israel —written in the official records of the kings of Israel?
28 Ora, o restante dos atos de Jeroboão, e tudo o que ele fez, e o seu poder, como ele guerreou, e como ele recuperou Damasco, e Hamate, a qual pertencia a Judá, para Israel, não estão escritos no livro das Crônicas dos reis de Israel?
29 Jeroboam lay down in death with his ancestors, the kings of Israel. His son Zechariah succeeded him as king.
29 E Jeroboão dormiu com os seus pais, a saber, com os reis de Israel; e Zacarias, o seu filho, reinou no seu lugar.
