GOD'S WORD (ENGGW) vs BKJ
1 When Rehoboam had established his kingdom and made himself strong, he and all Israel abandoned the Lord’s teachings.
1 E sucedeu, quando Roboão havia estabelecido o seu reino, e havendo-se fortalecido, que ele abandonou a lei do SENHOR, e com ele todo o Israel.
2 In the fifth year of Rehoboam’s reign, King Shishak of Egypt attacked Jerusalem. This happened because all Israel was not loyal to the Lord.
2 E sucedeu que no quinto ano do rei Roboão, Sisaque, rei do Egito, subiu contra Jerusalém, porque eles haviam transgredido contra o SENHOR,
3 Shishak had 1,200 chariots, 60,000 horses, and an army of countless Libyans, Sukkites, and Sudanese from Egypt.
3 com mil e duzentas carruagens, e sessenta mil cavaleiros; e era inumerável o povo que saiu com ele do Egito; os líbios, os suquitas e os etíopes.
4 He captured the fortified cities in Judah and then came to Jerusalem.
4 E ele tomou as cidades fortificadas que pertenciam a Judá, e veio até Jerusalém.
5 The prophet Shemaiah came to Rehoboam and the leaders of Judah who had gathered in Jerusalem because of Shishak. Shemaiah said to them, “This is what the Lord says: You have abandoned me, so I will abandon you. I will hand you over to Shishak.”
5 Então veio Semaías, o profeta, até Roboão, e até os príncipes de Judá, que estavam reunidos em Jerusalém por causa de Sisaque, e disse-lhes: Assim diz o SENHOR: Vós me abandonastes, e portanto eu também vos deixei na mão de Sisaque.
6 Then the commanders of Israel and the king humbled themselves. “The Lord is right!” they said.
6 Diante disso os príncipes de Israel e o rei se humilharam, e disseram: O SENHOR é justo.
7 When the Lord saw that they had humbled themselves, he spoke his word to Shemaiah: “They have humbled themselves. I will not destroy them. In a little while I will give them an escape. I will not use Shishak to pour my anger on Jerusalem.
7 E quando o SENHOR viu que eles se humilhavam, veio a palavra do SENHOR a Semaías, dizendo: Eles se humilharam; portanto não os destruirei, mas concederei a eles algum socorro; e a minha ira não será derramada sobre Jerusalém pela mão de Sisaque.
8 But they will become his servants so that they can learn the difference between serving me and serving foreign kings.”
8 Todavia eles serão seus servos; para que possam conhecer a diferença que há entre o servir-me a mim e o servir os reinos das terras.
9 King Shishak of Egypt attacked Jerusalem and took the treasures from the Lord’s temple and the royal palace. He took them all. He took the gold shields Solomon had made.
9 Assim, Sisaque, o rei do Egito, subiu contra Jerusalém e tomou consigo os tesouros da casa do SENHOR, e os tesouros da casa do rei; tomou tudo; ele também levou embora os escudos de ouro que Salomão havia feito.
10 So King Rehoboam made bronze shields to replace them and put them by the entrance to the royal palace, where the captains of the guards were stationed.
10 No lugar dos quais o rei Roboão fez escudos de bronze, e lhes confiou nas mãos do chefe da guarda, que guardava a entrada da casa do rei.
11 Whenever the king went into the Lord’s temple, guards carried the shields and then returned them to the guardroom.
11 E, quando o rei entrava na casa do SENHOR, vinha a guarda e os levava, e os trazia novamente à câmara da guarda.
12 After Rehoboam humbled himself, the Lord was no longer angry with him and didn’t completely destroy him. So things went well in Judah.
12 E, quando ele se humilhou, a ira do SENHOR volveu-se dele, para que não o destruísse por completo; porque em Judá ainda havia boas coisas.
13 King Rehoboam strengthened his position in Jerusalem and ruled. He was 41 years old when he began to rule. He ruled for 17 years in Jerusalem, the city that the Lord chose from all the tribes of Israel, the city where the Lord put his name. (Rehoboam’s mother was an Ammonite woman named Naamah.)
13 Assim, o rei Roboão fortaleceu-se em Jerusalém e reinou; pois Roboão tinha quarenta e um anos de idade quando começou a reinar, e reinou por dezessete anos em Jerusalém, a cidade que o SENHOR escolheu de todas as tribos de Israel, para ali colocar o seu nome. E o nome da sua mãe era Naamá, uma amonita.
14 He did evil things because he was not serious about dedicating himself to serving the Lord.
14 E ele fez mal, porque não preparou o seu coração para buscar o SENHOR.
15 Aren’t the events concerning Rehoboam from first to last written in the records of the prophet Shemaiah and the records of the seer Iddo in the genealogies? There was war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam as long as they lived.
15 Ora, os atos de Roboão, os primeiros e os últimos, não estão escritos no livro do profeta Semaías e do vidente Ido, acerca das genealogias? E houve guerras entre Roboão e Jeroboão continuamente.
16 Rehoboam lay down in death with his ancestors and was buried in the City of David. His son Abijah succeeded him as king.
16 E Roboão dormiu com os seus pais, e foi sepultado na cidade de Davi, e Abias, o seu filho, reinou em seu lugar.
