1 Are we beginning to commend ourselves again?Do we need, as some do, letters of recommendation to you orletters of recommendation from you?
1 Começamos novamente a elogiar a nós mesmos? Ou nós precisamos, como alguns outros, de cartas de recomendação para vós, ou cartas de recomendação de vós?
2 You are our letter, written on our hearts, known and read by all.
2 Vós sois a nossa carta escrita em nossos corações, conhecida e lida por todos os homens;
3 You show that you are a letter from Christ, delivered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God, not on stone tablets, but on tablets of human hearts.
3 porquanto vós sois manifestamente declarados para ser a carta de Cristo, ministrada por nós e escrita, não com tinta, mas com o Espírito do Deus vivo; não em tábuas de pedra, mas nas tábuas de carne do coração.
4 Such is the confidence that we have in God through Christ.
4 E tal confiança nós temos através de Cristo em Deus;
5 Not that we are competent in and of ourselves to claim that anything comes from us, but our competence comes from God.
5 não que sejamos suficientes por nós mesmos para pensar alguma coisa como de nós mesmos; mas a nossa suficiência é de Deus,
6 He has made us competent to be ministers of a new covenant, not of the letter, but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.
6 o qual também nos fez capazes de ser ministros do novo testamento, não da letra, mas do espírito; porque a letra mata, mas o espírito dá vida.
7 Now if the ministry of death, which was engraved in letters on stone, came with glory, so that the sons of Israel could not gaze at the face of Moses because of its glory (a glory that was fading away),
7 Mas se a ministração da morte, escrita e gravada em pedras, era gloriosa, de maneira que os filhos de Israel não podiam contemplar firmemente a face de Moisés, por causa da glória do seu semblante; cuja glória estava se acabando,
8 will not the ministry of the Spirit be even more glorious?
8 como não será a ministração do Espírito mais gloriosa?
9 For ifthe ministry of condemnation was glorious, the ministry of righteousness abounds in glory even more.
9 Porque, se a ministração da condenação for gloriosa, muito mais a ministração da justiça excederá em glória.
10 For what was once glorious now has no glory in comparison with the glory that surpasses it.
10 Porque até o que foi feito glorioso, a este respeito não tinha glória, em razão da glória que excede.
11 And if what was fading away came with glory, what remains will be even more glorious.
11 Porque, se o que era transitório foi glorioso, muito mais o que permanece é glorioso.
12 Therefore, since we have such a hope, we act with great boldness.
12 Vendo, então, que temos tal esperança, usamos de grande simplicidade no falar;
13 We are not like Moses, who would put a veil over his face so that the sons of Israel would not gaze at the end of what was fading away.
13 e não como Moisés, o qual colocou um véu sobre a sua face, para que os filhos de Israel não pudessem olhar firmemente para o fim daquilo que é abolido;
14 But their minds were hardened, for to this day the same veil remains unlifted when the old covenant isread. Only in Christ is this veil taken away.
14 mas suas mentes estavam cegas; porque até este dia permanece o mesmo véu encoberto na leitura do velho testamento; véu o qual está aniquilado em Cristo.
15 But to this day,when Moses is read, a veil lies over their hearts.
15 Mas até hoje, quando Moisés é lido, o véu está sobre o coração deles.
16 But whenever someone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away.
16 Mesmo assim, quando se converterem ao Senhor, o véu será retirado.
17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
17 Ora, o Senhor é o Espírito, e onde o Espírito do Senhor está, aí está a liberdade.
18 And we all, with unveiled faces reflecting the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another; this comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
18 Mas todos nós, com a face descoberta, contemplando como em um espelho a glória do Senhor, somos transformados na mesma imagem de glória em glória, como pelo Espírito do Senhor.
