1 Wisdom hath builded her house; She hath hewn out her seven pillars.
1 A sabedoria construiu sua casa; ergueu suas sete colunas.
2 She hath killed her fatlings; She hath mingled her wine; Yea, she hath furnished her table.
2 Matou animais para a refeição, preparou seu vinho e arrumou sua mesa.
3 She hath sent forth her maidens; She crieth aloud upon the highest places of the city:
3 E enviou as servas para fazerem convites desde o ponto mais alto da cidade, clamando:
4 “Whoever is simple, let him turn in hither!” To him that is void of understanding she saith,
4 "Venham todos os inexperientes! " Aos que não têm bom senso ela diz:
5 “Come, eat of my bread, And drink of the wine which I have mingled!
5 "Venham comer a minha comida e beber o vinho que preparei.
6 Forsake folly, and live! And go forward in the way of understanding!
6 Deixem a insensatez, e vocês terão vida; andem pelo caminho do entendimento.
7 “He who correcteth a scoffer Bringeth shame upon himself; And he who rebuketh the wicked Bringeth upon himself a stain.
7 "Quem corrige o zombador traz sobre si o insulto; quem repreende o ímpio mancha o próprio nome.
8 Rebuke not a scoffer, lest he hate thee; Rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee.
8 Não repreenda o zombador, caso contrário ele o odiará; repreenda o sábio, e ele o amará.
9 Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser; Teach a righteous man, and he will increase his learning.
9 Instrua o homem sábio, e ele será ainda mais sábio; ensine o homem justo, e ele aumentará o seu saber.
10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Most Holy is understanding.
10 "O temor do Senhor é o princípio da sabedoria, e o conhecimento do Santo é entendimento.
11 Yea, through me thy days shall be multiplied, And the years of thy life shall be increased.
11 Pois por meu intermédio os seus dias serão multiplicados, e o tempo da sua vida se prolongará.
12 If thou art wise, thou art wise for thyself; And if thou art a scoffer, thou alone must bear it.”
12 Se você for sábio, o benefício será seu; se for zombador, sofrerá as conseqüências".
13 The foolish woman is clamorous; She is very simple, and careth for nothing.
13 A insensatez é pura exibição, sedução e ignorância.
14 She sitteth at the door of her house, Upon a seat in the high places of the city,
14 Sentada à porta de sua casa, no ponto mais alto da cidade,
15 To call aloud to those that pass by, Who go straight forward in their ways,
15 clama aos que passam por ali seguindo o seu caminho.
16 “Whoever is simple, let him turn in hither!” And to him that is void of understanding she saith,
16 "Venham todos os inexperientes! " Aos que não têm bom senso ela diz:
17 “Stolen water is sweet, And bread eaten in secret is pleasant.”
17 "A água roubada é doce, e o pão que se come escondido é saboroso! "
18 But he considereth not that the dead are there, That in the vales of the under-world are her guests.
18 Mas eles nem imaginam que ali estão os espíritos dos mortos, que os seus convidados estão nas profundezas da sepultura.
