Gather yourselves together|strong="H7197", yea, gather together|strong="H7197", O nation|strong="H1471" not desired|strong="H3700";
Before the decree|strong="H2706" bring forth|strong="H3205", before the day|strong="H3117" pass|strong="H5674" as the chaff|strong="H4671", before|strong="H3808" the fierce|strong="H2740" anger|strong="H0639" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* come|strong="H0935" upon you, before the day|strong="H3117" of the \+w LORD’s|strong="H3068"\+w* anger|strong="H0639" come|strong="H0935" upon you.
Seek|strong="H1245" ye the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, all ye meek|strong="H6035" of the earth|strong="H0776", which have wrought|strong="H6466" his judgment|strong="H4941"; seek|strong="H1245" righteousness|strong="H6664", seek|strong="H1245" meekness|strong="H6038": it may be|strong="H0194" ye shall be hid|strong="H5641" in the day|strong="H3117" of the \+w LORD’s|strong="H3068"\+w* anger|strong="H0639".
For Gaza|strong="H5804" shall be forsaken|strong="H5800", and Ashkelon|strong="H0831" a desolation|strong="H8077": they shall drive out|strong="H1644" Ashdod|strong="H0795" at the noon day|strong="H6672", and Ekron|strong="H6138" shall be rooted up|strong="H6131".
Woe|strong="H1945" unto the inhabitants|strong="H3427" of the sea|strong="H3220" coast|strong="H2256", the nation|strong="H1471" of the Cherethites|strong="H3774"! the word|strong="H1697" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* is against you; O Canaan|strong="H3667", the land|strong="H0776" of the Philistines|strong="H6430", I will even destroy|strong="H0006" thee, that there shall be no inhabitant|strong="H3427".
And the sea|strong="H3220" coast|strong="H2256" shall be dwellings|strong="H5116" and cottages|strong="H3741" for shepherds|strong="H7462", and folds|strong="H1448" for flocks|strong="H6629".
And the coast|strong="H2256" shall be for the remnant|strong="H7611" of the house|strong="H1004" of Judah|strong="H3063"; they shall feed|strong="H7462" thereupon: in the houses|strong="H1004" of Ashkelon|strong="H0831" shall they lie down|strong="H7257" in the evening|strong="H6153": for the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* their God|strong="H0430" shall visit|strong="H6485" them, and turn away|strong="H7725" their captivity|strong="H7622".
I have heard|strong="H8085" the reproach|strong="H2781" of Moab|strong="H4124", and the revilings|strong="H1421" of the children|strong="H1121" of Ammon|strong="H5983", whereby they have reproached|strong="H2778" my people|strong="H5971", and magnified|strong="H1431" themselves against their border|strong="H1366".
Therefore as I live|strong="H2416", saith|strong="H5002" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* of hosts|strong="H6635", the God|strong="H0430" of Israel|strong="H3478", Surely Moab|strong="H4124" shall be as Sodom|strong="H5467", and the children|strong="H1121" of Ammon|strong="H5983" as Gomorrah|strong="H6017", even the breeding|strong="H4476" of nettles|strong="H2738", and saltpits|strong="H4379", and a perpetual|strong="H5704" desolation|strong="H8077": the residue|strong="H7611" of my people|strong="H5971" shall spoil|strong="H0962" them, and the remnant|strong="H3499" of my people|strong="H1471" shall possess|strong="H5157" them.
This shall they have for their pride|strong="H1347", because they have reproached|strong="H2778" and magnified|strong="H1431" themselves against the people|strong="H5971" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* of hosts|strong="H6635".
The \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* will be terrible|strong="H3372" unto them: for he will famish|strong="H7329" all the gods|strong="H0430" of the earth|strong="H0776"; and men shall worship|strong="H7812" him, every one|strong="H0376" from his place|strong="H4725", even all the isles|strong="H0339" of the heathen|strong="H1471".
Ye Ethiopians|strong="H3569" also, ye|strong="H1992" shall be slain|strong="H2491" by my sword|strong="H2719".
And he will stretch out|strong="H5186" his hand|strong="H3027" against the north|strong="H6828", and destroy|strong="H0006" Assyria|strong="H0804"; and will make|strong="H7760" Nineveh|strong="H5210" a desolation|strong="H8077", and dry|strong="H6723" like a wilderness|strong="H4057".
And flocks|strong="H5739" shall lie down|strong="H7257" in the midst|strong="H8432" of her, all the beasts|strong="H2416" of the nations|strong="H1471": both the cormorant|strong="H6893" and the bittern|strong="H7090" shall lodge|strong="H3885" in the upper lintels|strong="H3730" of it; their voice|strong="H6963" shall sing|strong="H7891" in the windows|strong="H2474"; desolation|strong="H2721" shall be in the thresholds|strong="H5592": for he shall uncover|strong="H6168" the cedar work|strong="H0731".
This is the rejoicing|strong="H5947" city|strong="H5892" that dwelt|strong="H3427" carelessly|strong="H0983", that said|strong="H0559" in her heart|strong="H3824", I am, and there is none beside|strong="H0657" me: how is she become a desolation|strong="H8047", a place for beasts|strong="H2416" to lie down in|strong="H4769"! every one that passeth by|strong="H5674" her shall hiss|strong="H8319", and wag|strong="H5128" his hand|strong="H3027".
