Romanos 11

King James (Authorized) Version (ENG-KJV2006)

I say|strong="G3004" then|strong="G3767", Hath|strong="G0683" God|strong="G2316" cast away|strong="G0683" his|strong="G0846" people|strong="G2992"? God forbid|strong="G1096". For|strong="G1063" I|strong="G1473" also|strong="G2532" am|strong="G1510" an Israelite|strong="G2475", of|strong="G1537" the seed|strong="G4690" of Abraham|strong="G0011", of the tribe|strong="G5443" of Benjamin|strong="G0958".

God|strong="G2316" hath|strong="G0683" not|strong="G3756" cast away|strong="G0683" his|strong="G0846" people|strong="G2992" which|strong="G3739" he foreknew|strong="G4267". Wot ye|strong="G1492" not|strong="G3756" what|strong="G5101" the scripture|strong="G1124" saith|strong="G3004" of|strong="G1722" Elias|strong="G2243"? how|strong="G5613" he maketh intercession|strong="G1793" to God|strong="G2316" against|strong="G2596" Israel|strong="G2474", saying|strong="G3004",

Lord|strong="G2962", they have killed|strong="G0615" thy|strong="G4675" prophets|strong="G4396", and|strong="G2532" digged down|strong="G2679" thine|strong="G4675" altars|strong="G2379"; and I|strong="G2504" am left|strong="G5275" alone|strong="G3441", and|strong="G2532" they seek|strong="G2212" my|strong="G3450" life|strong="G5590".

But|strong="G0235" what|strong="G5101" saith|strong="G3004" the answer of God|strong="G5538" unto him|strong="G0846"? I have reserved|strong="G2641" to myself|strong="G1683" seven thousand|strong="G2035" men|strong="G0435", who|strong="G3748" have|strong="G2578" not|strong="G3756" bowed|strong="G2578" the knee|strong="G1119" to|strong="G0896" the image of Baal|strong="G0896".

Even so|strong="G3779" then|strong="G3767" at|strong="G1722" this present|strong="G3568" time|strong="G2540" also|strong="G2532" there is|strong="G1096" a remnant|strong="G3005" according to|strong="G2596" the election|strong="G1589" of grace|strong="G5485".

And|strong="G1161" if|strong="G1487" by grace|strong="G5485", then|strong="G3765" is it no more|strong="G3765" of|strong="G1537" works|strong="G2041": otherwise|strong="G1893" grace|strong="G5485" is|strong="G1096" no more|strong="G3765" grace|strong="G5485". But|strong="G1161" if|strong="G1487" it be of|strong="G1537" works|strong="G2041", then|strong="G3765" is it|strong="G2076" no more|strong="G3765" grace|strong="G5485": otherwise|strong="G1893" work|strong="G2041" is|strong="G2076" no more|strong="G3765" work|strong="G2041".

What|strong="G5101" then|strong="G3767"? Israel|strong="G2474" hath|strong="G2013" not|strong="G3756" obtained|strong="G2013" that|strong="G5127" which|strong="G3739" he seeketh for|strong="G1934"; but|strong="G1161" the election|strong="G1589" hath obtained it|strong="G2013", and|strong="G1161" the rest|strong="G3062" were blinded|strong="G4456"

(According as|strong="G2531" it is written|strong="G1125", God|strong="G2316" hath given|strong="G1325" them|strong="G0846" the spirit|strong="G4151" of slumber|strong="G2659", eyes|strong="G3788" that they should|strong="G0991" not|strong="G3361" see|strong="G0991", and|strong="G2532" ears|strong="G3775" that they should|strong="G0191" not|strong="G3361" hear|strong="G0191";) unto|strong="G2193" this|strong="G4594" day|strong="G2250".

And|strong="G2532" David|strong="G1138" saith|strong="G3004", Let|strong="G1096" their|strong="G0846" table|strong="G5132" be made|strong="G1096" a snare|strong="G3803", and|strong="G2532" a trap|strong="G2339", and|strong="G2532" a stumblingblock|strong="G4625", and|strong="G2532" a recompence|strong="G0468" unto them|strong="G0846":

Let|strong="G4654" their|strong="G0846" eyes|strong="G3788" be darkened|strong="G4654", that they may|strong="G0991" not|strong="G3361" see|strong="G0991", and|strong="G2532" bow down|strong="G4781" their|strong="G0846" back|strong="G3577" alway|strong="G1275".

I say|strong="G3004" then|strong="G3767", Have they stumbled|strong="G4417" that|strong="G2443" they should fall|strong="G4098"? God forbid|strong="G1096": but|strong="G0235" rather through|strong="G3900" their|strong="G0846" fall|strong="G3900" salvation|strong="G4991" is come unto the Gentiles|strong="G1484", for|strong="G1519" to provoke|strong="G3863" them|strong="G0846" to jealousy|strong="G3863".

Now|strong="G1161" if|strong="G1487" the fall|strong="G3900" of them|strong="G0846" be the riches|strong="G4149" of the world|strong="G2889", and|strong="G2532" the diminishing|strong="G2275" of them|strong="G0846" the riches|strong="G4149" of the Gentiles|strong="G1484"; how much|strong="G4214" more|strong="G3123" their|strong="G0846" fulness|strong="G4138"?

For|strong="G1063" I speak|strong="G3004" to you|strong="G5213" Gentiles|strong="G1484", inasmuch as|strong="G3745" I|strong="G1473" am|strong="G1510" the apostle|strong="G0652" of the Gentiles|strong="G1484", I magnify|strong="G1392" mine|strong="G3450" office|strong="G1248":

If|strong="G1487" by any means|strong="G4459" I may provoke to emulation|strong="G3863" them which are my|strong="G3450" flesh|strong="G4561", and|strong="G2532" might save|strong="G4982" some|strong="G5100" of|strong="G1537" them|strong="G0846".

For|strong="G1063" if|strong="G1487" the casting away|strong="G0580" of them|strong="G0846" be the reconciling|strong="G2643" of the world|strong="G2889", what|strong="G5101" shall the receiving|strong="G4356" of them be, but|strong="G3361" life|strong="G2222" from|strong="G1537" the dead|strong="G3498"?

For|strong="G1161" if|strong="G1487" the firstfruit|strong="G0536" be holy|strong="G0040", the lump|strong="G5445" is also|strong="G2532" holy: and|strong="G2532" if|strong="G1487" the root|strong="G4491" be holy|strong="G0040", so|strong="G2532" are the branches|strong="G2798".

And|strong="G1161" if|strong="G1487" some|strong="G5100" of the branches|strong="G2798" be broken off|strong="G1575", and|strong="G1161" thou|strong="G4771", being|strong="G5607" a wild olive tree|strong="G0065", wert graffed|strong="G1461" in|strong="G1722" among them|strong="G0846", and|strong="G2532" with them partakest|strong="G4791" of the root|strong="G4491" and|strong="G2532" fatness|strong="G4096" of the olive tree|strong="G1636";

Boast|strong="G2620" not|strong="G3361" against the branches|strong="G2798". But|strong="G1161" if|strong="G1487" thou boast|strong="G2620", thou|strong="G4771" bearest|strong="G0941" not|strong="G3756" the root|strong="G4491", but|strong="G0235" the root|strong="G4491" thee|strong="G4571".

Thou wilt say|strong="G2046" then|strong="G3767", The branches|strong="G2798" were broken off|strong="G1575", that|strong="G2443" I|strong="G1473" might be graffed in|strong="G1461".

Well|strong="G2573"; because of unbelief|strong="G0570" they were broken off|strong="G1575", and|strong="G1161" thou|strong="G4771" standest|strong="G2476" by faith|strong="G4102". Be|strong="G5309" not|strong="G3361" highminded|strong="G5309", but|strong="G0235" fear|strong="G5399":

For|strong="G1063" if|strong="G1487" God|strong="G2316" spared|strong="G5339" not|strong="G3756" the|strong="G2798" natural|strong="G5449" branches|strong="G2798", take heed lest|strong="G3381" he|strong="G5339" also|strong="G3761" spare|strong="G5339" not|strong="G3761" thee|strong="G4675".

Behold|strong="G1492" therefore|strong="G3767" the goodness|strong="G5544" and|strong="G2532" severity|strong="G0663" of God|strong="G2316": on|strong="G1909" them which fell|strong="G4098", severity|strong="G0663"; but|strong="G1161" toward|strong="G1909" thee|strong="G4571", goodness|strong="G5544", if|strong="G1437" thou continue|strong="G1961" in|strong="G5544" his goodness|strong="G5544": otherwise|strong="G1893" thou|strong="G4771" also|strong="G2532" shalt be cut off|strong="G1581".

And|strong="G1161" they|strong="G1565" also|strong="G2532", if|strong="G1437" they abide|strong="G1961" not|strong="G3361" still|strong="G1961" in unbelief|strong="G0570", shall be graffed in|strong="G1461": for|strong="G1063" God|strong="G2316" is|strong="G2076" able|strong="G1415" to graff|strong="G1461" them|strong="G0846" in|strong="G1461" again|strong="G3825".

For|strong="G1063" if|strong="G1487" thou|strong="G4771" wert cut out|strong="G1581" of|strong="G1537" the olive tree which is wild|strong="G0065" by|strong="G2596" nature|strong="G5449", and|strong="G2532" wert graffed|strong="G1461" contrary to|strong="G3844" nature|strong="G5449" into|strong="G1519" a good olive tree|strong="G2565": how much|strong="G4214" more|strong="G3123" shall|strong="G1461" these|strong="G3778", which be|strong="G3588" the natural|strong="G5449" branches, be graffed into|strong="G1461" their own|strong="G2398" olive tree|strong="G1636"?

For|strong="G1063" I would|strong="G2309" not|strong="G3756", brethren|strong="G0080", that|strong="G2309" ye|strong="G5209" should be ignorant of|strong="G0050" this|strong="G5124" mystery|strong="G3466", lest|strong="G2443" ye should be|strong="G5600" wise|strong="G5429" in|strong="G3844" your own conceits|strong="G1438"; that|strong="G3754" blindness|strong="G4457" in|strong="G0575" part|strong="G3313" is happened|strong="G1096" to Israel|strong="G2474", until|strong="G0891" the fulness|strong="G4138" of the Gentiles|strong="G1484" be come in|strong="G1525".

And|strong="G2532" so|strong="G3779" all|strong="G3956" Israel|strong="G2474" shall be saved|strong="G4982": as|strong="G2531" it is written|strong="G1125", There shall come|strong="G2240" out of|strong="G1537" Sion|strong="G4622" the Deliverer|strong="G4506", and|strong="G2532" shall turn away|strong="G0654" ungodliness|strong="G0763" from|strong="G0575" Jacob|strong="G2384":

For|strong="G2532" this|strong="G3778" is my|strong="G1700" covenant|strong="G1242" unto them|strong="G0846", when|strong="G3752" I shall take away|strong="G0851" their|strong="G0846" sins|strong="G0266".

As concerning|strong="G2596" the gospel|strong="G2098", they are enemies|strong="G2190" for|strong="G1223" your|strong="G5209" sakes|strong="G1223": but|strong="G1161" as touching|strong="G2596" the election|strong="G1589", they are beloved|strong="G0027" for|strong="G1223" the fathers’|strong="G3962" sakes|strong="G1223".

For|strong="G1063" the gifts|strong="G5486" and|strong="G2532" calling|strong="G2821" of God|strong="G2316" are without repentance|strong="G0278".

For|strong="G1063" as|strong="G5618" ye|strong="G5210" in times past|strong="G4218" have not believed|strong="G0544" God|strong="G2316", yet|strong="G1161" have|strong="G1653" now|strong="G3568" obtained mercy|strong="G1653" through|strong="G0543" their|strong="G5130" unbelief|strong="G0543":

Even so|strong="G3779" have|strong="G0544" these|strong="G3778" also|strong="G2532" now|strong="G3568" not believed|strong="G0544", that|strong="G2443" through your|strong="G5212" mercy|strong="G1656" they|strong="G0846" also|strong="G2532" may obtain mercy|strong="G1653".

For|strong="G1063" God|strong="G2316" hath concluded|strong="G4788" them all|strong="G3956" in|strong="G1519" unbelief|strong="G0543", that|strong="G2443" he might have mercy upon|strong="G1653" all|strong="G3956".

O|strong="G5599" the depth|strong="G0899" of the riches|strong="G4149" both|strong="G2532" of the wisdom|strong="G4678" and|strong="G2532" knowledge|strong="G1108" of God|strong="G2316"! how|strong="G5613" unsearchable|strong="G0419" are his|strong="G0846" judgments|strong="G2917", and|strong="G2532" his|strong="G0846" ways|strong="G3598" past finding out|strong="G0421"!

For|strong="G1063" who|strong="G5101" hath known|strong="G1097" the mind|strong="G3563" of the Lord|strong="G2962"? or|strong="G2228" who|strong="G5101" hath been|strong="G1096" his|strong="G0846" counsellor|strong="G4825"?

Or|strong="G2228" who|strong="G5101" hath first given|strong="G4272" to him|strong="G0846", and|strong="G2532" it shall be recompensed|strong="G0467" unto him|strong="G0846" again|strong="G0467"?

For|strong="G3754" of|strong="G1537" him|strong="G0846", and|strong="G2532" through|strong="G1223" him|strong="G0846", and|strong="G2532" to|strong="G1519" him|strong="G0846", are all things|strong="G3956": to whom|strong="G0846" be glory|strong="G1391" for|strong="G1519" ever|strong="G0165". Amen|strong="G0281".
