1 A good name|strong="H8034" is rather to be chosen|strong="H0977" than great|strong="H7227" riches|strong="H6239", and loving|strong="H2896" favour|strong="H2580" rather than silver|strong="H3701" and gold|strong="H2091".
1 Mais digno de ser escolhido é o bom nome do que as muitas riquezas; e a graça é melhor do que a riqueza e o ouro.
2 The rich|strong="H6223" and poor|strong="H7326" meet together|strong="H6298": the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* is the maker|strong="H6213" of them all.
2 O rico e o pobre se encontraram; a todos os fez o Senhor .
3 A prudent|strong="H6175" man foreseeth|strong="H7200" the evil|strong="H7451", and hideth|strong="H5641" himself: but the simple|strong="H6612" pass on|strong="H5674", and are punished|strong="H6064".
3 O avisado vê o mal e esconde-se; mas os simples passam e sofrem a pena.

4 O galardão da humildade e o temor do Senhor são riquezas, e honra, e vida.
5 Thorns|strong="H6791" and snares|strong="H6341" are in the way|strong="H1870" of the froward|strong="H6141": he that doth keep|strong="H8104" his soul|strong="H5315" shall be far|strong="H7368" from them.
5 Espinhos e laços há no caminho do perverso; o que guarda a sua alma retira-se para longe dele.
6 Train up|strong="H2596" a child|strong="H5288" in the way|strong="H1870" he should go|strong="H6310": and when he is old|strong="H2204", he will not depart|strong="H5493" from it.
6 Instrui o menino no caminho em que deve andar, e, até quando envelhecer, não se desviará dele.
7 The rich|strong="H6223" ruleth|strong="H4910" over the poor|strong="H7326", and the borrower|strong="H3867" is servant|strong="H5650" to the lender|strong="H0376".
7 O rico domina sobre os pobres, e o que toma emprestado é servo do que empresta.
8 He that soweth|strong="H2232" iniquity|strong="H5766" shall reap|strong="H7114" vanity|strong="H0205": and the rod|strong="H7626" of his anger|strong="H5678" shall fail|strong="H3615".
8 O que semear a perversidade segará males; e a vara da sua indignação falhará.
9 He that hath a bountiful|strong="H2896" eye|strong="H5869" shall be blessed|strong="H1288"; for he giveth|strong="H5414" of his bread|strong="H3899" to the poor|strong="H1800".
9 O que é de bons olhos será abençoado, porque deu do seu pão ao pobre.
10 Cast out|strong="H1644" the scorner|strong="H3887", and contention|strong="H4066" shall go out|strong="H3318"; yea, strife|strong="H1779" and reproach|strong="H7036" shall cease|strong="H7673".
10 Lança fora ao escarnecedor, e se irá a contenda; e cessará a questão e a vergonha.
11 He that loveth|strong="H0157" pureness|strong="H2890" of heart|strong="H3820", for the grace|strong="H2580" of his lips|strong="H8193" the king|strong="H4428" shall be his friend|strong="H7453".
11 O que ama a pureza do coração e tem graça nos seus lábios terá por seu amigo o rei.
12 The eyes|strong="H5869" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* preserve|strong="H5341" knowledge|strong="H1847", and he overthroweth|strong="H5557" the words|strong="H1697" of the transgressor|strong="H0898".
12 Os olhos do Senhor conservam o que tem conhecimento, mas as palavras do iníquo ele transtornará.
13 The slothful|strong="H6102" man saith|strong="H0559", There is a lion|strong="H0738" without|strong="H2351", I shall be slain|strong="H7523" in|strong="H8432" the streets|strong="H7339".
13 Diz o preguiçoso: Um leão está lá fora; serei morto no meio das ruas.
14 The mouth|strong="H6310" of strange women|strong="H2114" is a deep|strong="H6013" pit|strong="H7745": he that is abhorred|strong="H2194" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* shall fall|strong="H5307" therein.
14 Cova profunda é a boca das mulheres estranhas; aquele contra quem o Senhor se irar cairá nela.
15 Foolishness|strong="H0200" is bound|strong="H7194" in the heart|strong="H3820" of a child|strong="H5288"; but the rod|strong="H7626" of correction|strong="H4148" shall drive it far|strong="H7368" from him.
15 A estultícia está ligada ao coração do menino, mas a vara da correção a afugentará dele.
16 He that oppresseth|strong="H6231" the poor|strong="H1800" to increase|strong="H7235" his riches, and he that giveth|strong="H5414" to the rich|strong="H6223", shall surely come to want|strong="H4270".
16 O que oprime o pobre para se engrandecer a si ou o que dá ao rico, certamente, empobrecerá.
17 Bow down|strong="H5186" thine ear|strong="H0241", and hear|strong="H8085" the words|strong="H1697" of the wise|strong="H2450", and apply|strong="H7896" thine heart|strong="H3820" unto my knowledge|strong="H1847".
17 Inclina o teu ouvido, e ouve as palavras dos sábios, e aplica o teu coração à minha ciência.
18 For it is a pleasant thing|strong="H5273" if thou keep|strong="H8104" them within|strong="H0990" thee; they shall withal|strong="H3162" be fitted|strong="H3559" in thy lips|strong="H8193".
18 Porque é coisa suave, se as guardares no teu coração, se as aplicares todas aos teus lábios.
19 That thy trust|strong="H4009" may be in the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, I have made known|strong="H3045" to thee this day|strong="H3117", even to thee.
19 Para que a tua confiança esteja no Senhor , a ti tas faço saber hoje, sim, a ti mesmo.
20 Have not I written|strong="H3789" to thee|strong="H8032" excellent things|strong="H7991" in counsels|strong="H4156" and knowledge|strong="H1847",
20 Porventura, não te escrevi excelentes coisas acerca de todo conselho e conhecimento,
21 That I might make thee know|strong="H3045" the certainty|strong="H7189" of the words|strong="H0561" of truth|strong="H0571"; that thou mightest answer|strong="H7725" the words|strong="H0561" of truth|strong="H0571" to them that send|strong="H7971" unto thee?
21 para te fazer saber a certeza das palavras de verdade, para que possas responder palavras de verdade aos que te enviarem?
22 Rob|strong="H1497" not the poor|strong="H1800", because he is poor|strong="H1800": neither oppress|strong="H1792" the afflicted|strong="H6041" in the gate|strong="H8179":
22 Não roubes ao pobre, porque é pobre, nem atropeles, na porta, o aflito.
23 For the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* will plead|strong="H7378" their cause|strong="H7379", and spoil|strong="H6906" the soul|strong="H5315" of those that spoiled|strong="H6906" them.
23 Porque o Senhor defenderá a sua causa em juízo, e aos que os roubam lhes tirará a vida.
24 Make no friendship|strong="H7462" with an angry|strong="H0639" man|strong="H1167"; and with a furious|strong="H2534" man|strong="H0376" thou shalt not go|strong="H0935":
24 Não acompanhes o iracundo, nem andes com o homem colérico,
25 Lest thou learn|strong="H0502" his ways|strong="H0734", and get|strong="H3947" a snare|strong="H4170" to thy soul|strong="H5315".
25 para que não aprendas as suas veredas e tomes um laço para a tua alma.
26 Be not thou one of them that strike|strong="H8628" hands|strong="H3709", or of them that are sureties|strong="H6148" for debts|strong="H4859".
26 Não estejas entre os que dão as mãos e entre os que ficam por fiadores de dívidas.
27 If thou hast nothing to pay|strong="H7999", why should he take away|strong="H3947" thy bed|strong="H4904" from under thee?
27 Se não tens com que pagar, por que tirariam a tua cama de debaixo de ti?
28 Remove|strong="H5253" not the ancient|strong="H5769" landmark|strong="H1366", which thy fathers|strong="H0001" have set|strong="H6213".
28 Não removas os limites antigos que fizeram teus pais.
29 Seest|strong="H2372" thou a man|strong="H0376" diligent|strong="H4106" in his business|strong="H4399"? he shall stand|strong="H3320" before|strong="H6440" kings|strong="H4428"; he shall not stand|strong="H3320" before|strong="H6440" mean|strong="H2823" men.
29 Viste um homem diligente na sua obra? Perante reis será posto; não será posto perante os de baixa sorte.
