7 Os lábios do sábio destilam saber, e não assim é o coração dos insensatos.

8 Os sacrifícios dos pérfidos são abominação para o Senhor, a oração dos homens retos lhe é agradável.

9 O Senhor abomina o caminho do mau, mas ama o que se prende à justiça.

10 Severa é a correção para o que se afasta do caminho, e o que aborrece a repreensão perecerá.
11 Hell|strong="H7585" and destruction|strong="H0011" are before the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*: how much more then the hearts|strong="H3826" of the children|strong="H1121" of men|strong="H0120"?
11 A habitação dos mortos e o abismo estão abertos diante do Senhor; quanto mais os corações dos filhos dos homens!
12 A scorner|strong="H3887" loveth|strong="H0157" not one that reproveth|strong="H3198" him: neither will he go|strong="H3212" unto the wise|strong="H2450".
12 O zombador não gosta de quem o repreende, nem vai em busca dos sábios.

13 O coração contente alegra o semblante, o coração triste deprime o espírito.

14 O coração do inteligente procura a ciência; a boca dos tolos sacia-se de loucuras.
15 All the days|strong="H3117" of the afflicted|strong="H6041" are evil|strong="H7451": but he that is of a merry|strong="H2896" heart|strong="H3820" hath a continual|strong="H8548" feast|strong="H4960".
15 Para o aflito todos os dias são maus; para um coração contente, são um perpétuo festim.

16 Vale mais o pouco com o temor do Senhor que um grande tesouro com a inquietação.
17 Better|strong="H2896" is a dinner|strong="H0737" of herbs|strong="H3419" where love|strong="H0160" is, than a stalled|strong="H0075" ox|strong="H7794" and hatred|strong="H8135" therewith.
17 Mais vale um prato de legume com amizade que um boi cevado com ódio.
18 A wrathful|strong="H2534" man|strong="H0376" stirreth up|strong="H1624" strife|strong="H4066": but he that is slow|strong="H0750" to anger|strong="H0639" appeaseth|strong="H8252" strife|strong="H7379".
18 O homem iracundo excita questões, mas o paciente apazigua as disputas.
19 The way|strong="H1870" of the slothful|strong="H6102" man is as an hedge|strong="H4881" of thorns|strong="H2312": but the way|strong="H0734" of the righteous|strong="H3477" is made plain|strong="H5549".
19 O caminho do preguiçoso é como uma sebe de espinhos, o caminho dos corretos é sem tropeço.

20 O filho sábio alegra seu pai; o insensato despreza sua mãe.

21 A loucura diverte o insensato, mas o homem inteligente segue o caminho reto.
22 Without counsel|strong="H5475" purposes|strong="H4284" are disappointed|strong="H6565": but in the multitude|strong="H7230" of counsellors|strong="H3289" they are established|strong="H6965".
22 Os projetos malogram por falta de deliberação; conseguem bom êxito com muitos conselheiros.
23 A man|strong="H0376" hath joy|strong="H8057" by the answer|strong="H4617" of his mouth|strong="H6310": and a word|strong="H1697" spoken in due season|strong="H6256", how good|strong="H2896" is it!
23 Saber dar uma resposta é fonte de alegria; como é agradável uma palavra oportuna!

24 O sábio escala o caminho da vida, para evitar a descida à morada dos mortos.

25 O Senhor destrói a casa dos soberbos, mas firma os limites da viúva.
26 The thoughts|strong="H4284" of the wicked|strong="H7451" are an abomination|strong="H8441" to the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*: but the words of the pure|strong="H2889" are pleasant|strong="H5278" words|strong="H0561".
26 Os projetos dos pérfidos são abomináveis ao Senhor, mas as palavras benevolentes são puras.
27 He that is greedy|strong="H1214" of gain|strong="H1215" troubleth|strong="H5916" his own house|strong="H1004"; but he that hateth|strong="H8130" gifts|strong="H4979" shall live|strong="H2421".
27 O homem cobiçoso perturba a sua casa, aquele que odeia os subornos viverá.
28 The heart|strong="H3820" of the righteous|strong="H6662" studieth|strong="H1897" to answer|strong="H6030": but the mouth|strong="H6310" of the wicked|strong="H7563" poureth|strong="H5042" out evil things|strong="H7451".
28 O coração do justo estuda a sua resposta; a boca dos maus, porém, vomita o mal.

29 O Senhor está longe dos maus, mas atende à oração dos justos.

32 O que rejeita a correção faz pouco caso de sua vida; quem ouve a repreensão adquire sabedoria.
33 The fear|strong="H3374" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* is the instruction|strong="H4148" of wisdom|strong="H2451"; and before|strong="H6440" honour|strong="H3519" is humility|strong="H6038".
33 O temor do Senhor é uma escola de sabedoria. A humildade precede a glória.
