2 He answered|strong="G0611" and|strong="G1161" said|strong="G2036" unto them|strong="G0846", \+w When it is|strong="G1096"\+w* \+w evening|strong="G3798"\+w*, \+w ye say|strong="G3004"\+w*, \+add It will be\+add* \+w fair weather|strong="G2105"\+w*: \+w for|strong="G1063"\+w* \+w the sky|strong="G3772"\+w* \+w is red|strong="G4449"\+w*.
3 \+w And|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w in the morning|strong="G4404"\+w*, \+add It will be\+add* \+w foul weather|strong="G5494"\+w* \+w to day|strong="G4594"\+w*: \+w for|strong="G1063"\+w* \+w the sky|strong="G3772"\+w* \+w is red|strong="G4449"\+w* \+w and lowring|strong="G4768"\+w*. O \+add ye\+add* \+w hypocrites|strong="G5273"\+w*, \+w ye can|strong="G1097"\+w* \+w discern|strong="G1252"\+w* \+w the face|strong="G4383"\+w* \+w of the sky|strong="G3772"\+w*; \+w but|strong="G1161"\+w* \+w can ye|strong="G1410"\+w* \+w not|strong="G3756"\+w* \+add discern\+add* \+w the signs|strong="G4592"\+w* \+w of the times|strong="G2540"\+w*?
4 \+w A wicked|strong="G4190"\+w* \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w adulterous|strong="G3428"\+w* \+w generation|strong="G1074"\+w* \+w seeketh after|strong="G1934"\+w* \+w a sign|strong="G4592"\+w*; \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w there shall|strong="G1325"\+w* \+w no|strong="G3756"\+w* \+w sign|strong="G4592"\+w* \+w be given|strong="G1325"\+w* \+w unto it|strong="G0846"\+w*, \+w but|strong="G3361"\+w* \+w the sign|strong="G4592"\+w* \+w of the prophet|strong="G4396"\+w* \+w Jonas|strong="G2495"\+w*. And|strong="G2532" he left|strong="G2641" them|strong="G0846", and departed|strong="G0565".
5 And|strong="G2532" when|strong="G2064" his|strong="G0846" disciples|strong="G3101" were come|strong="G2064" to|strong="G1519" the other side|strong="G4008", they had forgotten|strong="G1950" to take|strong="G2983" bread|strong="G0740".
6 Then|strong="G1161" Jesus|strong="G2424" said|strong="G2036" unto them|strong="G0846", \+w Take heed|strong="G3708"\+w* \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w beware|strong="G4337"\+w* \+w of|strong="G0575"\+w* \+w the leaven|strong="G2219"\+w* \+w of the Pharisees|strong="G5330"\+w* \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w of the Sadducees|strong="G4523"\+w*.
7 And|strong="G1161" they reasoned|strong="G1260" among|strong="G1722" themselves|strong="G1438", saying|strong="G3004", It is because|strong="G3754" we have taken|strong="G2983" no|strong="G3756" bread|strong="G0740".
8 Which when|strong="G1161" Jesus|strong="G2424" perceived|strong="G1097", he said|strong="G2036" unto them|strong="G0846", \+w O ye of little faith|strong="G3640"\+w*, \+w why|strong="G5101"\+w* \+w reason ye|strong="G1260"\+w* \+w among|strong="G1722"\+w* \+w yourselves|strong="G1438"\+w*, \+w because|strong="G3754"\+w* \+w ye have brought|strong="G2983"\+w* \+w no|strong="G3756"\+w* \+w bread|strong="G0740"\+w*?
9 \+w Do ye|strong="G3539"\+w* \+w not yet|strong="G3768"\+w* \+w understand|strong="G3539"\+w*, \+w neither|strong="G3761"\+w* \+w remember|strong="G3421"\+w* \+w the|strong="G0740"\+w* \+w five|strong="G4002"\+w* \+w loaves|strong="G0740"\+w* \+w of the five thousand|strong="G4000"\+w*, \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w how many|strong="G4214"\+w* \+w baskets|strong="G2894"\+w* \+w ye took up|strong="G2983"\+w*?
10 \+w Neither|strong="G3761"\+w* \+w the|strong="G0740"\+w* \+w seven|strong="G2033"\+w* \+w loaves|strong="G0740"\+w* \+w of the four thousand|strong="G5070"\+w*, \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w how many|strong="G4214"\+w* \+w baskets|strong="G4711"\+w* \+w ye took up|strong="G2983"\+w*?
11 \+w How is it that|strong="G4459"\+w* \+w ye do|strong="G3539"\+w* \+w not|strong="G3756"\+w* \+w understand|strong="G3539"\+w* \+w that|strong="G3754"\+w* \+w I spake|strong="G2036"\+w* \+add it\+add* \+w not|strong="G3756"\+w* \+w to you|strong="G5213"\+w* \+w concerning|strong="G4012"\+w* \+w bread|strong="G0740"\+w*, \+w that ye should beware|strong="G4337"\+w* \+w of|strong="G0575"\+w* \+w the leaven|strong="G2219"\+w* \+w of the Pharisees|strong="G5330"\+w* \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w of the Sadducees|strong="G4523"\+w*?
12 Then|strong="G5119" understood they|strong="G4920" how that|strong="G3754" he bade|strong="G2036" them not|strong="G3756" beware|strong="G4337" of|strong="G0575" the leaven|strong="G2219" of bread|strong="G0740", but|strong="G0235" of|strong="G0575" the doctrine|strong="G1322" of the Pharisees|strong="G5330" and|strong="G2532" of the Sadducees|strong="G4523".
13 When|strong="G1161" Jesus|strong="G2424" came|strong="G2064" into|strong="G1519" the coasts|strong="G3313" of Caesarea|strong="G2542" Philippi|strong="G5376", he asked|strong="G2065" his|strong="G0846" disciples|strong="G3101", saying|strong="G3004", \+w Whom|strong="G5101"\+w* \+w do|strong="G3004"\+w* \+w men|strong="G0444"\+w* \+w say that|strong="G3004"\+w* \+w I|strong="G3165"\+w* \+w the Son|strong="G5207"\+w* \+w of man|strong="G0444"\+w* \+w am|strong="G1511"\+w*?
14 And|strong="G1161" they said|strong="G2036", Some|strong="G3303" say that thou art John|strong="G2491" the Baptist|strong="G0910": some|strong="G0243", Elias|strong="G2243"; and|strong="G1161" others|strong="G2087", Jeremias|strong="G2408", or|strong="G2228" one|strong="G1520" of the prophets|strong="G4396".
15 He saith|strong="G3004" unto them|strong="G0846", \+w But|strong="G1161"\+w* \+w whom|strong="G5101"\+w* \+w say|strong="G3004"\+w* \+w ye|strong="G5210"\+w* \+w that|strong="G3004"\+w* \+w I|strong="G3165"\+w* \+w am|strong="G1511"\+w*?
16 And|strong="G1161" Simon|strong="G4613" Peter|strong="G4074" answered|strong="G0611" and said|strong="G2036", Thou|strong="G4771" art|strong="G1488" the Christ|strong="G5547", the Son|strong="G5207" of the|strong="G2316" living|strong="G2198" God|strong="G2316".
17 And|strong="G2532" Jesus|strong="G2424" answered|strong="G0611" and said|strong="G2036" unto him|strong="G0846", \+w Blessed|strong="G3107"\+w* \+w art thou|strong="G1488"\+w*, \+w Simon|strong="G4613"\+w* \+w Bar-jona|strong="G0920"\+w*: \+w for|strong="G3754"\+w* \+w flesh|strong="G4561"\+w* \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w blood|strong="G0129"\+w* \+w hath|strong="G0601"\+w* \+w not|strong="G3756"\+w* \+w revealed|strong="G0601"\+w* \+add it\+add* \+w unto thee|strong="G4671"\+w*, \+w but|strong="G0235"\+w* \+w my|strong="G3450"\+w* \+w Father|strong="G3962"\+w* \+w which is|strong="G3588"\+w* \+w in|strong="G1722"\+w* \+w heaven|strong="G3772"\+w*.

20 Then|strong="G5119" charged he|strong="G1291" his|strong="G0846" disciples|strong="G3101" that|strong="G2443" they should tell|strong="G2036" no man|strong="G3367" that|strong="G3754" he|strong="G0846" was|strong="G2076" Jesus|strong="G2424" the Christ|strong="G5547".
21 From|strong="G0575" that time|strong="G5119" forth|strong="G0575" began|strong="G0756" Jesus|strong="G2424" to shew|strong="G1166" unto his|strong="G0846" disciples|strong="G3101", how that|strong="G3754" he|strong="G0846" must|strong="G1163" go|strong="G0565" unto|strong="G1519" Jerusalem|strong="G2414", and|strong="G2532" suffer|strong="G3958" many things|strong="G4183" of|strong="G0575" the elders|strong="G4245" and|strong="G2532" chief priests|strong="G0749" and|strong="G2532" scribes|strong="G1122", and|strong="G2532" be killed|strong="G0615", and|strong="G2532" be raised again|strong="G1453" the|strong="G2250" third|strong="G5154" day|strong="G2250".
22 Then|strong="G2532" Peter|strong="G4074" took|strong="G4355" him|strong="G0846", and began to|strong="G0756" rebuke|strong="G2008" him|strong="G0846", saying|strong="G3004", Be it far|strong="G2436" from thee|strong="G4671", Lord|strong="G2962": this|strong="G5124" shall|strong="G2071" not|strong="G3756" be|strong="G2071" unto thee|strong="G4671".
23 But|strong="G1161" he turned|strong="G4762", and said|strong="G2036" unto Peter|strong="G4074", \+w Get thee|strong="G5217"\+w* \+w behind|strong="G3694"\+w* \+w me|strong="G3450"\+w*, \+w Satan|strong="G4567"\+w*: \+w thou art|strong="G1488"\+w* \+w an offence|strong="G4625"\+w* \+w unto me|strong="G3450"\+w*: \+w for|strong="G3754"\+w* \+w thou savourest|strong="G5426"\+w* \+w not|strong="G3756"\+w* \+w the things that be|strong="G3588"\+w* \+w of God|strong="G2316"\+w*, \+w but|strong="G0235"\+w* \+w those that be|strong="G3588"\+w* \+w of men|strong="G0444"\+w*.

25 \+w For|strong="G1063"\+w* \+w whosoever|strong="G3739"\+w* \+w will|strong="G2309"\+w* \+w save|strong="G4982"\+w* \+w his|strong="G0846"\+w* \+w life|strong="G5590"\+w* \+w shall lose|strong="G0622"\+w* \+w it|strong="G0846"\+w*: \+w and|strong="G1161"\+w* \+w whosoever|strong="G3739"\+w* \+w will lose|strong="G0622"\+w* \+w his|strong="G0846"\+w* \+w life|strong="G5590"\+w* \+w for|strong="G1752"\+w* \+w my|strong="G1700"\+w* \+w sake|strong="G1752"\+w* \+w shall find|strong="G2147"\+w* \+w it|strong="G0846"\+w*.
26 \+w For|strong="G1063"\+w* \+w what|strong="G5101"\+w* \+w is|strong="G5623"\+w* \+w a man|strong="G0444"\+w* \+w profited|strong="G5623"\+w*, \+w if|strong="G1437"\+w* \+w he shall gain|strong="G2770"\+w* \+w the|strong="G2889"\+w* \+w whole|strong="G3650"\+w* \+w world|strong="G2889"\+w*, \+w and|strong="G1161"\+w* \+w lose|strong="G2210"\+w* \+w his own|strong="G0846"\+w* \+w soul|strong="G5590"\+w*? \+w or|strong="G2228"\+w* \+w what|strong="G5101"\+w* \+w shall|strong="G1325"\+w* \+w a man|strong="G0444"\+w* \+w give|strong="G1325"\+w* \+w in exchange|strong="G0465"\+w* \+w for|strong="G5590"\+w* \+w his|strong="G0846"\+w* \+w soul|strong="G5590"\+w*?
27 \+w For|strong="G1063"\+w* \+w the Son|strong="G5207"\+w* \+w of man|strong="G0444"\+w* \+w shall|strong="G3195"\+w* \+w come|strong="G2064"\+w* \+w in|strong="G1722"\+w* \+w the glory|strong="G1391"\+w* \+w of|strong="G3962"\+w* \+w his|strong="G0846"\+w* \+w Father|strong="G3962"\+w* \+w with|strong="G3326"\+w* \+w his|strong="G0846"\+w* \+w angels|strong="G0032"\+w*; \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w then|strong="G5119"\+w* \+w he shall reward|strong="G0591"\+w* \+w every man|strong="G1538"\+w* \+w according to|strong="G2596"\+w* \+w his|strong="G0846"\+w* \+w works|strong="G4234"\+w*.
28 \+w Verily|strong="G0281"\+w* \+w I say|strong="G3004"\+w* \+w unto you|strong="G5213"\+w*, \+w There be|strong="G1526"\+w* \+w some|strong="G5100"\+w* \+w standing|strong="G2476"\+w* \+w here|strong="G5602"\+w*, \+w which|strong="G3748"\+w* \+w shall|strong="G1089"\+w* \+w not|strong="G3756"\+w* \+w taste|strong="G1089"\+w* \+w of death|strong="G2288"\+w*, \+w till|strong="G2193"\+w* \+w they see|strong="G1492"\+w* \+w the Son|strong="G5207"\+w* \+w of man|strong="G0444"\+w* \+w coming|strong="G2064"\+w* \+w in|strong="G1722"\+w* \+w his|strong="G0846"\+w* \+w kingdom|strong="G0932"\+w*.
