1 And|strong="G1161" Jesus|strong="G2424" being full|strong="G4134" of the Holy|strong="G0040" Ghost|strong="G4151" returned|strong="G5290" from|strong="G0575" Jordan|strong="G2446", and|strong="G2532" was led|strong="G0071" by|strong="G1722" the Spirit|strong="G4151" into|strong="G1519" the wilderness|strong="G2048",
2 Being|strong="G3985" forty|strong="G5062" days|strong="G2250" tempted|strong="G3985" of|strong="G5259" the devil|strong="G1228". And|strong="G2532" in|strong="G1722" those|strong="G1565" days|strong="G2250" he did eat|strong="G5315" nothing|strong="G3762": and|strong="G2532" when they|strong="G0846" were ended|strong="G4931", he|strong="G3983" afterward|strong="G5305" hungered|strong="G3983".
3 And|strong="G2532" the devil|strong="G1228" said|strong="G2036" unto him|strong="G0846", If|strong="G1487" thou be|strong="G1488" the Son|strong="G5207" of God|strong="G2316", command|strong="G2036" this|strong="G5129" stone|strong="G3037" that|strong="G2443" it be made|strong="G1096" bread|strong="G0740".
4 And|strong="G2532" Jesus|strong="G2424" answered|strong="G0611" him|strong="G0846", saying|strong="G3004", \+w It is written|strong="G1125"\+w*, \+w That|strong="G3754"\+w* \+w man|strong="G0444"\+w* \+w shall|strong="G2198"\+w* \+w not|strong="G3756"\+w* \+w live|strong="G2198"\+w* \+w by|strong="G1909"\+w* \+w bread|strong="G0740"\+w* \+w alone|strong="G3441"\+w*, \+w but|strong="G0235"\+w* \+w by|strong="G1909"\+w* \+w every|strong="G3956"\+w* \+w word|strong="G4487"\+w* \+w of God|strong="G2316"\+w*.
5 And|strong="G2532" the devil|strong="G1228", taking|strong="G0321" him|strong="G0846" up|strong="G0321" into|strong="G1519" an|strong="G3735" high|strong="G5308" mountain|strong="G3735", shewed|strong="G1166" unto him|strong="G0846" all|strong="G3956" the kingdoms|strong="G0932" of the world|strong="G3625" in|strong="G1722" a moment|strong="G4743" of time|strong="G5550".
6 And|strong="G2532" the devil|strong="G1228" said|strong="G2036" unto him|strong="G0846", All|strong="G0537" this|strong="G3778" power|strong="G1849" will I give|strong="G1325" thee|strong="G4671", and|strong="G2532" the glory|strong="G1391" of them|strong="G0846": for that|strong="G3754" is delivered|strong="G3860" unto me|strong="G1698"; and|strong="G2532" to whomsoever|strong="G1437" I will|strong="G2309" I give|strong="G1325" it|strong="G0846".
7 If|strong="G1437" thou|strong="G4771" therefore|strong="G3767" wilt worship|strong="G4352" me|strong="G3450", all|strong="G3956" shall be|strong="G2071" thine|strong="G4675".
8 And|strong="G2532" Jesus|strong="G2424" answered|strong="G0611" and said|strong="G2036" unto him|strong="G0846", \+w Get thee|strong="G5217"\+w* \+w behind|strong="G3694"\+w* \+w me|strong="G3450"\+w*, \+w Satan|strong="G4567"\+w*: \+w for|strong="G1063"\+w* \+w it is written|strong="G1125"\+w*, \+w Thou shalt worship|strong="G4352"\+w* \+w the Lord|strong="G2962"\+w* \+w thy|strong="G4675"\+w* \+w God|strong="G2316"\+w*, \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w him|strong="G0846"\+w* \+w only|strong="G3441"\+w* \+w shalt thou serve|strong="G3000"\+w*.
9 And|strong="G2532" he brought|strong="G0071" him|strong="G0846" to|strong="G1519" Jerusalem|strong="G2419", and|strong="G2532" set|strong="G2476" him|strong="G0846" on|strong="G1909" a pinnacle|strong="G4419" of the temple|strong="G2411", and|strong="G2532" said|strong="G2036" unto him|strong="G0846", If|strong="G1487" thou be|strong="G1488" the Son|strong="G5207" of God|strong="G2316", cast|strong="G0906" thyself|strong="G4572" down|strong="G2736" from hence|strong="G1782":
10 For|strong="G1063" it is written|strong="G1125", He shall give|strong="G1781" his|strong="G0846" angels|strong="G0032" charge|strong="G1781" over|strong="G4012" thee|strong="G4675", to keep|strong="G1314" thee|strong="G4571":
11 And|strong="G2532" in|strong="G1909" their hands|strong="G5495" they shall bear|strong="G0142" thee|strong="G4571" up|strong="G0142", lest at any time|strong="G3379" thou dash|strong="G4350" thy|strong="G4675" foot|strong="G4228" against|strong="G4314" a stone|strong="G3037".
12 And|strong="G2532" Jesus|strong="G2424" answering|strong="G0611" said|strong="G2036" unto him|strong="G0846", \+w It is said|strong="G2046"\+w*, \+w Thou shalt|strong="G1598"\+w* \+w not|strong="G3756"\+w* \+w tempt|strong="G1598"\+w* \+w the Lord|strong="G2962"\+w* \+w thy|strong="G4675"\+w* \+w God|strong="G2316"\+w*.
13 And|strong="G2532" when|strong="G4931" the devil|strong="G1228" had ended|strong="G4931" all|strong="G3956" the temptation|strong="G3986", he departed|strong="G0868" from|strong="G0575" him|strong="G0846" for|strong="G0891" a season|strong="G2540".
14 And|strong="G2532" Jesus|strong="G2424" returned|strong="G5290" in|strong="G1722" the power|strong="G1411" of the Spirit|strong="G4151" into|strong="G1519" Galilee|strong="G1056": and|strong="G2532" there went out|strong="G1831" a fame|strong="G5345" of|strong="G4012" him|strong="G0846" through|strong="G2596" all|strong="G3650" the region round about|strong="G4066".
15 And|strong="G2532" he|strong="G0846" taught|strong="G1321" in|strong="G1722" their|strong="G0846" synagogues|strong="G4864", being glorified|strong="G1392" of|strong="G5259" all|strong="G3956".
16 And|strong="G2532" he came|strong="G2064" to|strong="G1519" Nazareth|strong="G3478", where|strong="G3757" he had been|strong="G2258" brought up|strong="G5142": and|strong="G2532", as|strong="G2596" his|strong="G0846" custom was|strong="G1486", he went|strong="G1525" into|strong="G1519" the synagogue|strong="G4864" on|strong="G1722" the sabbath|strong="G4521" day|strong="G2250", and|strong="G2532" stood up|strong="G0450" for to read|strong="G0314".
17 And|strong="G2532" there was delivered|strong="G1929" unto him|strong="G0846" the book|strong="G0975" of the prophet|strong="G4396" Esaias|strong="G2268". And|strong="G2532" when he had opened|strong="G0380" the book|strong="G0975", he found|strong="G2147" the place|strong="G5117" where|strong="G3757" it was|strong="G2258" written|strong="G1125",
18 \+w The Spirit|strong="G4151"\+w* \+w of the Lord|strong="G2962"\+w* \+add is\+add* \+w upon|strong="G1909"\+w* \+w me|strong="G1691"\+w*, \+w because|strong="G1752"\+w* \+w he hath anointed|strong="G5548"\+w* \+w me|strong="G3165"\+w* \+w to preach the gospel|strong="G2097"\+w* \+w to the poor|strong="G4434"\+w*; \+w he hath sent|strong="G0649"\+w* \+w me|strong="G3165"\+w* \+w to heal|strong="G2390"\+w* \+w the brokenhearted|strong="G4937"\+w*, \+w to preach|strong="G2784"\+w* \+w deliverance|strong="G0859"\+w* \+w to the captives|strong="G0164"\+w*, \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w recovering of sight|strong="G0309"\+w* \+w to the blind|strong="G5185"\+w*, \+w to set|strong="G0649"\+w* \+w at|strong="G1722"\+w* \+w liberty|strong="G0859"\+w* \+w them that are bruised|strong="G2352"\+w*,
19 \+w To preach|strong="G2784"\+w* \+w the acceptable|strong="G1184"\+w* \+w year|strong="G1763"\+w* \+w of the Lord|strong="G2962"\+w*.
20 And|strong="G2532" he closed|strong="G4428" the book|strong="G0975", and he gave|strong="G0591" it again|strong="G0591" to the minister|strong="G5257", and sat down|strong="G2523". And|strong="G2532" the eyes|strong="G3788" of all them|strong="G3956" that were|strong="G2258" in|strong="G1722" the synagogue|strong="G4864" were fastened|strong="G0816" on him|strong="G0846".
21 And|strong="G1161" he began|strong="G0756" to say|strong="G3004" unto|strong="G4314" them|strong="G0846", \+w This day|strong="G4594"\+w* \+w is|strong="G4137"\+w* \+w this|strong="G3778"\+w* \+w scripture|strong="G1124"\+w* \+w fulfilled|strong="G4137"\+w* \+w in|strong="G1722"\+w* \+w your|strong="G5216"\+w* \+w ears|strong="G3775"\+w*.
22 And|strong="G2532" all|strong="G3956" bare|strong="G3140" him|strong="G0846" witness|strong="G3140", and|strong="G2532" wondered|strong="G2296" at|strong="G1909" the|strong="G3056" gracious|strong="G5485" words|strong="G3056" which|strong="G3588" proceeded|strong="G1607" out of|strong="G1537" his|strong="G0846" mouth|strong="G4750". And|strong="G2532" they said|strong="G3004", Is|strong="G2076" not|strong="G3756" this|strong="G3778" Joseph’s|strong="G2501" son|strong="G5207"?
23 And|strong="G2532" he said|strong="G2036" unto|strong="G4314" them|strong="G0846", \+w Ye will|strong="G2046"\+w* \+w surely|strong="G3843"\+w* \+w say|strong="G2046"\+w* \+w unto me|strong="G3427"\+w* \+w this|strong="G3778"\+w* \+w proverb|strong="G3850"\+w*, \+w Physician|strong="G2395"\+w*, \+w heal|strong="G2323"\+w* \+w thyself|strong="G4572"\+w*: \+w whatsoever|strong="G3745"\+w* \+w we have heard|strong="G0191"\+w* \+w done|strong="G1096"\+w* \+w in|strong="G1722"\+w* \+w Capernaum|strong="G2584"\+w*, \+w do|strong="G4160"\+w* \+w also|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w here|strong="G5602"\+w* \+w in|strong="G1722"\+w* \+w thy|strong="G4675"\+w* \+w country|strong="G3968"\+w*.
24 And|strong="G1161" he said|strong="G2036", \+w Verily|strong="G0281"\+w* \+w I say|strong="G3004"\+w* \+w unto you|strong="G5213"\+w*, \+w No|strong="G3762"\+w* \+w prophet|strong="G4396"\+w* \+w is|strong="G2076"\+w* \+w accepted|strong="G1184"\+w* \+w in|strong="G1722"\+w* \+w his own|strong="G0846"\+w* \+w country|strong="G3968"\+w*.
25 \+w But|strong="G1161"\+w* \+w I tell|strong="G3004"\+w* \+w you|strong="G5213"\+w* \+w of|strong="G1909"\+w* \+w a truth|strong="G0225"\+w*, \+w many|strong="G4183"\+w* \+w widows|strong="G5503"\+w* \+w were|strong="G2258"\+w* \+w in|strong="G1722"\+w* \+w Israel|strong="G2474"\+w* \+w in|strong="G1722"\+w* \+w the days|strong="G2250"\+w* \+w of Elias|strong="G2243"\+w*, \+w when|strong="G3753"\+w* \+w the heaven|strong="G3772"\+w* \+w was shut up|strong="G2808"\+w* \+w three|strong="G5140"\+w* \+w years|strong="G2094"\+w* \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w six|strong="G1803"\+w* \+w months|strong="G3376"\+w*, \+w when|strong="G5613"\+w* \+w great|strong="G3173"\+w* \+w famine|strong="G3042"\+w* \+w was|strong="G1096"\+w* \+w throughout|strong="G1909"\+w* \+w all|strong="G3956"\+w* \+w the land|strong="G1093"\+w*;
26 \+w But|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w unto|strong="G4314"\+w* \+w none|strong="G3762"\+w* \+w of them|strong="G0846"\+w* \+w was|strong="G3992"\+w* \+w Elias|strong="G2243"\+w* \+w sent|strong="G3992"\+w*, \+w save|strong="G3361"\+w* \+w unto|strong="G1519"\+w* \+w Sarepta|strong="G4558"\+w*, \+add a city\+add* \+w of Sidon|strong="G4605"\+w*, \+w unto|strong="G4314"\+w* \+w a woman|strong="G1135"\+w* \+add that was\+add* \+w a widow|strong="G5503"\+w*.
27 \+w And|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w many|strong="G4183"\+w* \+w lepers|strong="G3015"\+w* \+w were|strong="G2258"\+w* \+w in|strong="G1722"\+w* \+w Israel|strong="G2474"\+w* \+w in the time|strong="G1909"\+w* \+w of Eliseus|strong="G1666"\+w* \+w the prophet|strong="G4396"\+w*; \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w none|strong="G3762"\+w* \+w of them|strong="G0846"\+w* \+w was cleansed|strong="G2511"\+w*, \+w saving|strong="G3361"\+w* \+w Naaman|strong="G3497"\+w* \+w the Syrian|strong="G4948"\+w*.
28 And|strong="G2532" all they|strong="G3956" in|strong="G1722" the synagogue|strong="G4864", when they heard|strong="G0191" these things|strong="G5023", were filled|strong="G4130" with wrath|strong="G2372",
29 And|strong="G2532" rose up|strong="G0450", and thrust|strong="G1544" him|strong="G0846" out of|strong="G1854" the city|strong="G4172", and|strong="G2532" led|strong="G0071" him|strong="G0846" unto|strong="G2193" the brow|strong="G3790" of the hill|strong="G3735" whereon|strong="G1909" their|strong="G0846" city|strong="G4172" was built|strong="G3618", that|strong="G1519" they might cast|strong="G2630" him|strong="G0846" down headlong|strong="G2630".
30 But|strong="G1161" he|strong="G0846" passing|strong="G1330" through|strong="G1223" the midst|strong="G3319" of them|strong="G0846" went his way|strong="G4198",
31 And|strong="G2532" came down|strong="G2718" to|strong="G1519" Capernaum|strong="G2584", a city|strong="G4172" of Galilee|strong="G1056", and|strong="G2532" taught|strong="G1321" them|strong="G0846" on|strong="G1722" the sabbath days|strong="G4521".
32 And|strong="G2532" they were astonished|strong="G1605" at|strong="G1909" his|strong="G0846" doctrine|strong="G1322": for|strong="G3754" his|strong="G0846" word|strong="G3056" was|strong="G2258" with|strong="G1722" power|strong="G1849".
33 And|strong="G2532" in|strong="G1722" the synagogue|strong="G4864" there was|strong="G2258" a man|strong="G0444", which had|strong="G2192" a spirit|strong="G4151" of an unclean|strong="G0169" devil|strong="G1140", and|strong="G2532" cried out|strong="G0349" with a loud|strong="G3173" voice|strong="G5456",
34 Saying|strong="G3004", Let|strong="G1436" us alone|strong="G1436"; what|strong="G5101" have we to do|strong="G2254" with thee|strong="G4671", thou Jesus|strong="G2424" of Nazareth|strong="G3479"? art thou come|strong="G2064" to destroy|strong="G0622" us|strong="G2248"? I know|strong="G1492" thee|strong="G4571" who|strong="G5101" thou art|strong="G1488"; the Holy One|strong="G0040" of God|strong="G2316".
35 And|strong="G2532" Jesus|strong="G2424" rebuked|strong="G2008" him|strong="G0846", saying|strong="G3004", \+w Hold thy peace|strong="G5392"\+w*, \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w come out|strong="G1831"\+w* \+w of|strong="G1537"\+w* \+w him|strong="G0846"\+w*. And when|strong="G2532" the devil|strong="G1140" had thrown|strong="G4496" him|strong="G0846" in|strong="G1519" the midst|strong="G3319", he came|strong="G1831" out of|strong="G0575" him|strong="G0846", and hurt|strong="G0984" him|strong="G0846" not|strong="G3367".
36 And|strong="G2532" they were|strong="G1096" all|strong="G3956" amazed|strong="G2285", and|strong="G2532" spake|strong="G4814" among|strong="G4314" themselves|strong="G0240", saying|strong="G3004", What|strong="G5101" a word|strong="G3056" is this|strong="G3778"! for|strong="G3754" with|strong="G1722" authority|strong="G1849" and|strong="G2532" power|strong="G1411" he commandeth|strong="G2004" the unclean|strong="G0169" spirits|strong="G4151", and|strong="G2532" they come out|strong="G1831".
37 And|strong="G2532" the fame|strong="G2279" of|strong="G4012" him|strong="G0846" went out|strong="G1607" into|strong="G1519" every|strong="G3956" place|strong="G5117" of the country round about|strong="G4066".
38 And|strong="G1161" he arose|strong="G0450" out of|strong="G1537" the synagogue|strong="G4864", and entered|strong="G1525" into|strong="G1519" Simon’s|strong="G4613" house|strong="G3614". And|strong="G1161" Simon’s|strong="G4613" wife’s mother|strong="G3994" was|strong="G2258" taken with|strong="G4912" a great|strong="G3173" fever|strong="G4446"; and|strong="G2532" they besought|strong="G2065" him|strong="G0846" for|strong="G4012" her|strong="G0846".
39 And|strong="G2532" he stood|strong="G2186" over|strong="G1883" her|strong="G0846", and rebuked|strong="G2008" the fever|strong="G4446"; and|strong="G2532" it left|strong="G0863" her|strong="G0846": and|strong="G1161" immediately|strong="G3916" she arose|strong="G0450" and ministered|strong="G1247" unto them|strong="G0846".
40 Now when|strong="G1161" the sun|strong="G2246" was setting|strong="G1416", all|strong="G3956" they that|strong="G3745" had|strong="G2192" any sick|strong="G0770" with divers|strong="G4164" diseases|strong="G3554" brought|strong="G0071" them|strong="G0846" unto|strong="G4314" him|strong="G0846"; and|strong="G1161" he laid|strong="G2007" his hands|strong="G5495" on every|strong="G1538" one|strong="G1520" of them|strong="G0846", and healed|strong="G2323" them|strong="G0846".
41 And|strong="G1161" devils|strong="G1140" also|strong="G2532" came out|strong="G1831" of|strong="G0575" many|strong="G4183", crying out|strong="G2896", and|strong="G2532" saying|strong="G3004", Thou|strong="G4771" art|strong="G1488" Christ|strong="G5547" the Son|strong="G5207" of God|strong="G2316". And|strong="G2532" he rebuking|strong="G2008" them suffered|strong="G1439" them|strong="G0846" not|strong="G3756" to speak|strong="G2980": for|strong="G3754" they knew|strong="G1492" that he|strong="G0846" was|strong="G1511" Christ|strong="G5547".
42 And|strong="G1161" when it was|strong="G1096" day|strong="G2250", he departed|strong="G1831" and went|strong="G4198" into|strong="G1519" a desert|strong="G2048" place|strong="G5117": and|strong="G2532" the people|strong="G3793" sought|strong="G2212" him|strong="G0846", and|strong="G2532" came|strong="G2064" unto|strong="G2193" him|strong="G0846", and|strong="G2532" stayed|strong="G2722" him|strong="G0846", that he should not|strong="G3361" depart|strong="G4198" from|strong="G0575" them|strong="G0846".
43 And|strong="G1161" he said|strong="G2036" unto|strong="G4314" them|strong="G0846", \+w I|strong="G3165"\+w* \+w must|strong="G1163"\+w* \+w preach|strong="G2097"\+w* \+w the kingdom|strong="G0932"\+w* \+w of God|strong="G2316"\+w* \+w to other|strong="G2087"\+w* \+w cities|strong="G4172"\+w* \+w also|strong="G2532"\+w*: \+w for|strong="G3754"\+w* \+w therefore|strong="G5124"\+w* \+w am I sent|strong="G0649"\+w*.
44 And|strong="G2532" he preached|strong="G2784" in|strong="G1722" the synagogues|strong="G4864" of Galilee|strong="G1056".
