2 And|strong="G2532" spake|strong="G2036" unto|strong="G4314" him|strong="G0846", saying|strong="G3004", Tell|strong="G2036" us|strong="G2254", by|strong="G1722" what|strong="G4169" authority|strong="G1849" doest thou|strong="G4160" these things|strong="G5023"? or|strong="G2228" who|strong="G5101" is|strong="G2076" he that|strong="G3588" gave|strong="G1325" thee|strong="G4671" this|strong="G3778" authority|strong="G1849"?
3 And|strong="G1161" he answered|strong="G0611" and said|strong="G2036" unto|strong="G4314" them|strong="G0846", \+w I will|strong="G2065"\+w* \+w also|strong="G2504"\+w* \+w ask|strong="G2065"\+w* \+w you|strong="G5209"\+w* \+w one|strong="G1520"\+w* \+w thing|strong="G3056"\+w*; \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w answer|strong="G2036"\+w* \+w me|strong="G3427"\+w*:
4 \+w The baptism|strong="G0908"\+w* \+w of John|strong="G2491"\+w*, \+w was it|strong="G2258"\+w* \+w from|strong="G1537"\+w* \+w heaven|strong="G3772"\+w*, \+w or|strong="G2228"\+w* \+w of|strong="G1537"\+w* \+w men|strong="G0444"\+w*?
5 And|strong="G1161" they reasoned|strong="G4817" with|strong="G4314" themselves|strong="G1438", saying|strong="G3004", If|strong="G1437" we shall say|strong="G2036", From|strong="G1537" heaven|strong="G3772"; he will say|strong="G2046", Why|strong="G5101" then|strong="G3767" believed ye|strong="G4100" him|strong="G0846" not|strong="G3756"?
6 But and|strong="G1161" if|strong="G1437" we say|strong="G2036", Of|strong="G1537" men|strong="G0444"; all|strong="G3956" the people|strong="G2992" will stone|strong="G2642" us|strong="G2248": for|strong="G1063" they be|strong="G1511" persuaded that|strong="G3982" John|strong="G2491" was|strong="G2076" a prophet|strong="G4396".
7 And|strong="G2532" they answered|strong="G0611", that they could|strong="G1492" not|strong="G3361" tell|strong="G1492" whence|strong="G4159" it was.
8 And|strong="G2532" Jesus|strong="G2424" said|strong="G2036" unto them|strong="G0846", \+w Neither|strong="G3761"\+w* \+w tell|strong="G3004"\+w* \+w I|strong="G1473"\+w* \+w you|strong="G5213"\+w* \+w by|strong="G1722"\+w* \+w what|strong="G4169"\+w* \+w authority|strong="G1849"\+w* \+w I do|strong="G4160"\+w* \+w these things|strong="G5023"\+w*.
9 Then|strong="G1161" began he|strong="G0756" to speak|strong="G3004" to|strong="G4314" the people|strong="G2992" this|strong="G3778" parable|strong="G3850"; \+w A certain|strong="G5100"\+w* \+w man|strong="G0444"\+w* \+w planted|strong="G5452"\+w* \+w a vineyard|strong="G0290"\+w*, \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w let|strong="G1554"\+w* \+w it|strong="G0846"\+w* \+w forth|strong="G1554"\+w* \+w to husbandmen|strong="G1092"\+w*, \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w went into a far country|strong="G0589"\+w* \+w for a long|strong="G2425"\+w* \+w time|strong="G5550"\+w*.
10 \+w And|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w at|strong="G1722"\+w* \+w the season|strong="G2540"\+w* \+w he sent|strong="G0649"\+w* \+w a servant|strong="G1401"\+w* \+w to|strong="G4314"\+w* \+w the husbandmen|strong="G1092"\+w*, \+w that|strong="G2443"\+w* \+w they should give|strong="G1325"\+w* \+w him|strong="G0846"\+w* \+w of|strong="G0575"\+w* \+w the fruit|strong="G2590"\+w* \+w of the vineyard|strong="G0290"\+w*: \+w but|strong="G1161"\+w* \+w the husbandmen|strong="G1092"\+w* \+w beat|strong="G1194"\+w* \+w him|strong="G0846"\+w*, \+w and sent|strong="G1821"\+w* \+add him\+add* \+w away|strong="G1821"\+w* \+w empty|strong="G2756"\+w*.
11 \+w And|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w again|strong="G4369"\+w* \+w he sent|strong="G3992"\+w* \+w another|strong="G2087"\+w* \+w servant|strong="G1401"\+w*: \+w and|strong="G1161"\+w* \+w they beat|strong="G1194"\+w* \+w him also|strong="G2548"\+w*, \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w entreated|strong="G0818"\+w* \+add him\+add* \+w shamefully|strong="G0818"\+w*, \+w and sent|strong="G1821"\+w* \+add him\+add* \+w away|strong="G1821"\+w* \+w empty|strong="G2756"\+w*.
12 \+w And|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w again|strong="G4369"\+w* \+w he sent|strong="G3992"\+w* \+w a third|strong="G5154"\+w*: \+w and|strong="G1161"\+w* \+w they wounded|strong="G5135"\+w* \+w him|strong="G5126"\+w* \+w also|strong="G2532"\+w*, \+w and cast|strong="G1544"\+w* \+add him\+add* \+w out|strong="G1544"\+w*.
13 \+w Then|strong="G1161"\+w* \+w said|strong="G2036"\+w* \+w the lord|strong="G2962"\+w* \+w of the vineyard|strong="G0290"\+w*, \+w What|strong="G5101"\+w* \+w shall I do|strong="G4160"\+w*? \+w I will send|strong="G3992"\+w* \+w my|strong="G3450"\+w* \+w beloved|strong="G0027"\+w* \+w son|strong="G5207"\+w*: \+w it may be|strong="G2481"\+w* \+w they will reverence|strong="G1788"\+w* \+add him\+add* \+w when they see|strong="G1492"\+w* \+w him|strong="G5126"\+w*.
14 \+w But|strong="G1161"\+w* \+w when the husbandmen|strong="G1092"\+w* \+w saw|strong="G1492"\+w* \+w him|strong="G0846"\+w*, \+w they reasoned|strong="G1260"\+w* \+w among|strong="G4314"\+w* \+w themselves|strong="G1438"\+w*, \+w saying|strong="G3004"\+w*, \+w This|strong="G3778"\+w* \+w is|strong="G2076"\+w* \+w the heir|strong="G2818"\+w*: \+w come|strong="G1205"\+w*, \+w let us kill|strong="G0615"\+w* \+w him|strong="G0846"\+w*, \+w that|strong="G2443"\+w* \+w the inheritance|strong="G2817"\+w* \+w may be|strong="G1096"\+w* \+w ours|strong="G2257"\+w*.
15 \+w So|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w they cast|strong="G1544"\+w* \+w him|strong="G0846"\+w* \+w out of|strong="G1854"\+w* \+w the vineyard|strong="G0290"\+w*, \+w and killed|strong="G0615"\+w* \+add him\+add*. \+w What|strong="G5101"\+w* \+w therefore|strong="G3767"\+w* \+w shall|strong="G4160"\+w* \+w the lord|strong="G2962"\+w* \+w of the vineyard|strong="G0290"\+w* \+w do|strong="G4160"\+w* \+w unto them|strong="G0846"\+w*?
16 \+w He shall come|strong="G2064"\+w* \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w destroy|strong="G0622"\+w* \+w these|strong="G5128"\+w* \+w husbandmen|strong="G1092"\+w*, \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w shall give|strong="G1325"\+w* \+w the vineyard|strong="G0290"\+w* \+w to others|strong="G0243"\+w*. And when|strong="G1161" they heard|strong="G0191" it, they said|strong="G2036", God forbid|strong="G1096".
17 And|strong="G1161" he beheld|strong="G1689" them|strong="G0846", and said|strong="G2036", \+w What|strong="G5101"\+w* \+w is|strong="G2076"\+w* \+w this|strong="G5124"\+w* \+w then|strong="G3767"\+w* \+w that|strong="G3588"\+w* \+w is written|strong="G1125"\+w*, \+w The stone|strong="G3037"\+w* \+w which|strong="G3739"\+w* \+w the builders|strong="G3618"\+w* \+w rejected|strong="G0593"\+w*, \+w the same|strong="G3778"\+w* \+w is become|strong="G1096"\+w* \+w the|strong="G1519"\+w* \+w head|strong="G2776"\+w* \+w of the corner|strong="G1137"\+w*?
18 \+w Whosoever|strong="G3956"\+w* \+w shall fall|strong="G4098"\+w* \+w upon|strong="G1909"\+w* \+w that|strong="G1565"\+w* \+w stone|strong="G3037"\+w* \+w shall be broken|strong="G4917"\+w*; \+w but|strong="G1161"\+w* \+w on|strong="G1909"\+w* \+w whomsoever|strong="G3739"\+w* \+w it shall fall|strong="G4098"\+w*, \+w it will grind|strong="G3039"\+w* \+w him|strong="G0846"\+w* \+w to powder|strong="G3039"\+w*.
19 And|strong="G2532" the chief priests|strong="G0749" and|strong="G2532" the scribes|strong="G1122" the same|strong="G0846" hour|strong="G5610" sought|strong="G2212" to lay|strong="G1911" hands|strong="G5495" on|strong="G1909" him|strong="G0846"; and|strong="G2532" they feared|strong="G5399" the people|strong="G2992": for|strong="G1063" they perceived|strong="G1097" that|strong="G3754" he had spoken|strong="G2036" this|strong="G3778" parable|strong="G3850" against|strong="G4314" them|strong="G0846".
20 And|strong="G2532" they watched|strong="G3906" him, and sent forth|strong="G0649" spies|strong="G1455", which should feign|strong="G5271" themselves|strong="G1438" just men|strong="G1342", that|strong="G2443" they might take hold|strong="G1949" of his|strong="G0846" words|strong="G3056", that so|strong="G2443" they might deliver|strong="G3860" him|strong="G0846" unto|strong="G1519" the power|strong="G0746" and|strong="G2532" authority|strong="G1849" of the governor|strong="G2232".
21 And|strong="G2532" they asked|strong="G1905" him|strong="G0846", saying|strong="G3004", Master|strong="G1320", we know|strong="G1492" that|strong="G3754" thou sayest|strong="G3004" and|strong="G2532" teachest|strong="G1321" rightly|strong="G3723", neither|strong="G3756" acceptest thou|strong="G2983" the person|strong="G4383" of any, but|strong="G0235" teachest|strong="G1321" the way|strong="G3598" of God|strong="G2316" truly|strong="G0225":
22 Is it lawful|strong="G1832" for us|strong="G2254" to give|strong="G1325" tribute|strong="G5411" unto Cæsar|strong="G2541", or|strong="G2228" no|strong="G3756"?
23 But|strong="G1161" he perceived|strong="G2657" their|strong="G0846" craftiness|strong="G3834", and said|strong="G2036" unto|strong="G4314" them|strong="G0846", \+w Why|strong="G5101"\+w* \+w tempt ye|strong="G3985"\+w* \+w me|strong="G3165"\+w*?
24 \+w Shew|strong="G1925"\+w* \+w me|strong="G3427"\+w* \+w a penny|strong="G1220"\+w*. \+w Whose|strong="G5101"\+w* \+w image|strong="G1504"\+w* \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w superscription|strong="G1923"\+w* \+w hath it|strong="G2192"\+w*? They answered|strong="G0611" and|strong="G1161" said|strong="G2036", Cæsar’s|strong="G2541".
25 And|strong="G1161" he said|strong="G2036" unto them|strong="G0846", \+w Render|strong="G0591"\+w* \+w therefore|strong="G5106"\+w* \+w unto Cæsar|strong="G2541"\+w* \+w the things|strong="G3588"\+w* \+w which be Cæsar’s|strong="G2541"\+w*, \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w unto God|strong="G2316"\+w* \+w the things|strong="G3588"\+w* \+w which be God’s|strong="G2316"\+w*.
26 And|strong="G2532" they could|strong="G2480" not|strong="G3756" take hold of|strong="G1949" his|strong="G0846" words|strong="G4487" before|strong="G1726" the people|strong="G2992": and|strong="G2532" they marvelled|strong="G2296" at|strong="G1909" his|strong="G0846" answer|strong="G0612", and held their peace|strong="G4601".
27 Then|strong="G1161" came to|strong="G4334" him certain|strong="G5100" of the Sadducees|strong="G4523", which|strong="G3588" deny that|strong="G0483" there is|strong="G1511" any resurrection|strong="G0386"; and they asked|strong="G1905" him|strong="G0846",
28 Saying|strong="G3004", Master|strong="G1320", Moses|strong="G3475" wrote|strong="G1125" unto us|strong="G2254", If|strong="G1437" any man’s|strong="G5100" brother|strong="G0080" die|strong="G0599", having|strong="G2192" a wife|strong="G1135", and|strong="G2532" he|strong="G3778" die|strong="G0599" without children|strong="G0815", that|strong="G2443" his|strong="G0846" brother|strong="G0080" should take|strong="G2983" his wife|strong="G1135", and|strong="G2532" raise up|strong="G1817" seed|strong="G4690" unto his|strong="G0846" brother|strong="G0080".
29 There were|strong="G2258" therefore|strong="G3767" seven|strong="G2033" brethren|strong="G0080": and|strong="G2532" the first|strong="G4413" took|strong="G2983" a wife|strong="G1135", and died|strong="G0599" without children|strong="G0815".
30 And|strong="G2532" the second|strong="G1208" took|strong="G2983" her to wife|strong="G1135", and|strong="G2532" he|strong="G3778" died|strong="G0599" childless|strong="G0815".
31 And|strong="G2532" the third|strong="G5154" took|strong="G2983" her; and|strong="G1161" in like manner|strong="G5615" the seven|strong="G2033" also|strong="G2532": and they left|strong="G2641" no|strong="G3756" children|strong="G5043", and|strong="G2532" died|strong="G0599".
32 Last|strong="G5305" of all|strong="G3956" the woman|strong="G1135" died|strong="G0599" also|strong="G2532".
33 Therefore|strong="G3767" in|strong="G1722" the resurrection|strong="G0386" whose|strong="G5101" wife|strong="G1135" of them|strong="G0846" is she|strong="G1096"? for|strong="G1063" seven|strong="G2033" had|strong="G2192" her|strong="G0846" to wife|strong="G1135".
34 And|strong="G2532" Jesus|strong="G2424" answering|strong="G0611" said|strong="G2036" unto them|strong="G0846", \+w The children|strong="G5207"\+w* \+w of this|strong="G5127"\+w* \+w world|strong="G0165"\+w* \+w marry|strong="G1060"\+w*, \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w are given in marriage|strong="G1548"\+w*:

36 \+w Neither|strong="G3777"\+w* \+w can|strong="G1410"\+w* \+w they die|strong="G0599"\+w* \+w any more|strong="G2089"\+w*: \+w for|strong="G1063"\+w* \+w they are|strong="G1526"\+w* \+w equal unto the angels|strong="G2465"\+w*; \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w are|strong="G1526"\+w* \+w the children|strong="G5207"\+w* \+w of God|strong="G2316"\+w*, \+w being|strong="G5607"\+w* \+w the children|strong="G5207"\+w* \+w of the resurrection|strong="G0386"\+w*.
37 \+w Now|strong="G1161"\+w* \+w that|strong="G3754"\+w* \+w the dead|strong="G3498"\+w* \+w are raised|strong="G1453"\+w*, \+w even|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w Moses|strong="G3475"\+w* \+w shewed|strong="G3377"\+w* \+w at|strong="G1909"\+w* \+w the bush|strong="G0942"\+w*, \+w when|strong="G5613"\+w* \+w he calleth|strong="G3004"\+w* \+w the Lord|strong="G2962"\+w* \+w the God|strong="G2316"\+w* \+w of Abraham|strong="G0011"\+w*, \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w the God|strong="G2316"\+w* \+w of Isaac|strong="G2464"\+w*, \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w the God|strong="G2316"\+w* \+w of Jacob|strong="G2384"\+w*.
38 \+w For|strong="G1161"\+w* \+w he is|strong="G2076"\+w* \+w not|strong="G3756"\+w* \+w a God|strong="G2316"\+w* \+w of the dead|strong="G3498"\+w*, \+w but|strong="G0235"\+w* \+w of the living|strong="G2198"\+w*: \+w for|strong="G1063"\+w* \+w all|strong="G3956"\+w* \+w live|strong="G2198"\+w* \+w unto him|strong="G0846"\+w*.
39 Then|strong="G1161" certain|strong="G5100" of the scribes|strong="G1122" answering|strong="G0611" said|strong="G2036", Master|strong="G1320", thou hast|strong="G2036" well|strong="G2573" said|strong="G2036".
40 And after that|strong="G1161" they durst|strong="G5111" not|strong="G3765" ask|strong="G1905" him|strong="G0846" any|strong="G3762" question at all.

46 \+w Beware|strong="G4337"\+w* \+w of|strong="G0575"\+w* \+w the scribes|strong="G1122"\+w*, \+w which|strong="G3588"\+w* \+w desire|strong="G2309"\+w* \+w to walk|strong="G4043"\+w* \+w in|strong="G1722"\+w* \+w long robes|strong="G4749"\+w*, \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w love|strong="G5368"\+w* \+w greetings|strong="G0783"\+w* \+w in|strong="G1722"\+w* \+w the markets|strong="G0058"\+w*, \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w the highest seats|strong="G4410"\+w* \+w in|strong="G1722"\+w* \+w the synagogues|strong="G4864"\+w*, \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w the chief rooms|strong="G4411"\+w* \+w at|strong="G1722"\+w* \+w feasts|strong="G1173"\+w*;
47 \+w Which|strong="G3739"\+w* \+w devour|strong="G2719"\+w* \+w widows’|strong="G5503"\+w* \+w houses|strong="G3614"\+w*, \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w for a shew|strong="G4392"\+w* \+w make|strong="G4336"\+w* \+w long|strong="G3117"\+w* \+w prayers|strong="G4336"\+w*: \+w the same|strong="G3778"\+w* \+w shall receive|strong="G2983"\+w* \+w greater|strong="G4053"\+w* \+w damnation|strong="G2917"\+w*.
