Juízes 6

King James (Authorized) Version (ENG-KJV2006)

And the children|strong="H1121" of Israel|strong="H3478" did|strong="H6213" evil|strong="H7451" in the sight|strong="H5869" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*: and the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* delivered|strong="H5414" them into the hand|strong="H3027" of Midian|strong="H4080" seven|strong="H7651" years|strong="H8141".

And the hand|strong="H3027" of Midian|strong="H4080" prevailed|strong="H5810" against Israel|strong="H3478": and because|strong="H6440" of the Midianites|strong="H4080" the children|strong="H1121" of Israel|strong="H3478" made|strong="H6213" them the dens|strong="H4492" which are in the mountains|strong="H2022", and caves|strong="H4631", and strong holds|strong="H4679".

And so it was, when Israel|strong="H3478" had sown|strong="H2232", that the Midianites|strong="H4080" came up|strong="H5927", and the Amalekites|strong="H6002", and the children|strong="H1121" of the east|strong="H6924", even they came up|strong="H5927" against them;

And they encamped|strong="H2583" against them, and destroyed|strong="H7843" the increase|strong="H2981" of the earth|strong="H0776", till thou come|strong="H0935" unto Gaza|strong="H5804", and left|strong="H7604" no sustenance|strong="H4241" for Israel|strong="H3478", neither sheep|strong="H7716", nor ox|strong="H7794", nor ass|strong="H2543".

For they came up|strong="H5927" with their cattle|strong="H4735" and their tents|strong="H0168", and they came|strong="H0935" as|strong="H1767" grasshoppers|strong="H0697" for multitude|strong="H7230"; for both they and their camels|strong="H1581" were without number|strong="H4557": and they entered|strong="H0935" into the land|strong="H0776" to destroy|strong="H7843" it.

And Israel|strong="H3478" was greatly|strong="H3966" impoverished|strong="H1809" because|strong="H6440" of the Midianites|strong="H4080"; and the children|strong="H1121" of Israel|strong="H3478" cried|strong="H2199" unto the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*.

And it came to pass, when the children|strong="H1121" of Israel|strong="H3478" cried|strong="H2199" unto the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* because|strong="H0182" of the Midianites|strong="H4080",

That the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* sent|strong="H7971" a prophet|strong="H0376" unto the children|strong="H1121" of Israel|strong="H3478", which said|strong="H0559" unto them, Thus saith|strong="H0559" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* God|strong="H0430" of Israel|strong="H3478", I brought you up|strong="H5927" from Egypt|strong="H4714", and brought you forth|strong="H3318" out of the house|strong="H1004" of bondage|strong="H5650";

And I delivered|strong="H5337" you out of the hand|strong="H3027" of the Egyptians|strong="H4714", and out of the hand|strong="H3027" of all that oppressed|strong="H3905" you, and drave them out|strong="H1644" from before|strong="H6440" you, and gave|strong="H5414" you their land|strong="H0776";

And I said|strong="H0559" unto you, I am the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* your God|strong="H0430"; fear|strong="H3372" not the gods|strong="H0430" of the Amorites|strong="H0567", in whose land|strong="H0776" ye dwell|strong="H3427": but ye have not obeyed|strong="H8085" my voice|strong="H6963".

And there came|strong="H0935" an angel|strong="H4397" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, and sat|strong="H3427" under an oak|strong="H0424" which was in Ophrah|strong="H6084", that pertained unto Joash|strong="H3101" the Abi-ezrite|strong="H0033": and his son|strong="H1121" Gideon|strong="H1439" threshed|strong="H2251" wheat|strong="H2406" by the winepress|strong="H1660", to hide|strong="H5127" it from|strong="H6440" the Midianites|strong="H4080".

And the angel|strong="H4397" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* appeared|strong="H7200" unto him, and said|strong="H0559" unto him, The \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* is with thee, thou mighty|strong="H1368" man of valour|strong="H2428".

And Gideon|strong="H1439" said|strong="H0559" unto him, Oh|strong="H0994" my Lord|strong="H0113", if|strong="H3426" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* be with us, why then is all this befallen|strong="H4672" us? and where be all his miracles|strong="H6381" which our fathers|strong="H0001" told|strong="H5608" us of, saying|strong="H0559", Did not the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* bring us up|strong="H5927" from Egypt|strong="H4714"? but now the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* hath forsaken|strong="H5203" us, and delivered|strong="H5414" us into the hands|strong="H3709" of the Midianites|strong="H4080".

And the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* looked|strong="H6437" upon him, and said|strong="H0559", Go|strong="H3212" in this thy might|strong="H3581", and thou shalt save|strong="H3467" Israel|strong="H3478" from the hand|strong="H3709" of the Midianites|strong="H4080": have not I sent|strong="H7971" thee?

And he said|strong="H0559" unto him, Oh|strong="H0994" my Lord|strong="H0136", wherewith|strong="H4100" shall I save|strong="H3467" Israel|strong="H3478"? behold, my family|strong="H0504" is poor|strong="H1800" in Manasseh|strong="H4519", and I am the least|strong="H6810" in my father’s|strong="H0001" house|strong="H1004".

And the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* said|strong="H0559" unto him, Surely I will be with thee, and thou shalt smite|strong="H5221" the Midianites|strong="H4080" as one|strong="H0259" man|strong="H0376".

And he said|strong="H0559" unto him, If now I have found|strong="H4672" grace|strong="H2580" in thy sight|strong="H5869", then shew|strong="H6213" me a sign|strong="H0226" that thou talkest|strong="H1696" with me.

Depart|strong="H4185" not hence, I pray thee, until I come|strong="H0935" unto thee, and bring forth|strong="H3318" my present|strong="H4503", and set|strong="H3240" it before|strong="H6440" thee. And he said|strong="H0559", I will tarry|strong="H3427" until thou come again|strong="H7725".

And Gideon|strong="H1439" went in|strong="H0935", and made ready|strong="H6213" a kid|strong="H5795", and unleavened cakes|strong="H4682" of an ephah|strong="H0374" of flour|strong="H7058": the flesh|strong="H1320" he put|strong="H7760" in a basket|strong="H5536", and he put|strong="H7760" the broth|strong="H4839" in a pot|strong="H6517", and brought it out|strong="H3318" unto him under the oak|strong="H0424", and presented|strong="H5066" it.

And the angel|strong="H4397" of God|strong="H0430" said|strong="H0559" unto him, Take|strong="H3947" the flesh|strong="H1320" and the unleavened cakes|strong="H4682", and lay|strong="H3240" them upon this|strong="H1975" rock|strong="H5553", and pour out|strong="H8210" the broth|strong="H4839". And he did|strong="H6213" so.

Then the angel|strong="H4397" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* put forth|strong="H7971" the end|strong="H7097" of the staff|strong="H4938" that was in his hand|strong="H3027", and touched|strong="H5060" the flesh|strong="H1320" and the unleavened cakes|strong="H4682"; and there rose up|strong="H5927" fire|strong="H0784" out of the rock|strong="H6697", and consumed|strong="H0398" the flesh|strong="H1320" and the unleavened cakes|strong="H4682". Then the angel|strong="H4397" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* departed|strong="H1980" out of his sight|strong="H5869".

And when Gideon|strong="H1439" perceived|strong="H7200" that he was an angel|strong="H4397" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, Gideon|strong="H1439" said|strong="H0559", Alas|strong="H0162", O Lord|strong="H0136" \+w GOD|strong="H3069"\+w*! for because|strong="H3651" I have seen|strong="H7200" an angel|strong="H4397" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* face|strong="H6440" to face|strong="H6440".

And the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* said|strong="H0559" unto him, Peace|strong="H7965" be unto thee; fear|strong="H3372" not: thou shalt not die|strong="H4191".

Then Gideon|strong="H1439" built|strong="H1129" an altar|strong="H4196" there unto the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, and called|strong="H7121" it Jehovah-shalom|strong="H3073": unto this day|strong="H3117" it is yet in Ophrah|strong="H6084" of the Abi-ezrites|strong="H0033".

And it came to pass the same night|strong="H3915", that the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* said|strong="H0559" unto him, Take|strong="H3947" thy father’s|strong="H0001" young|strong="H6499" bullock|strong="H7794", even the second|strong="H8145" bullock|strong="H6499" of seven|strong="H7651" years old|strong="H8141", and throw down|strong="H2040" the altar|strong="H4196" of Baal|strong="H1168" that thy father|strong="H0001" hath, and cut down|strong="H3772" the grove|strong="H0842" that is by it:

And build|strong="H1129" an altar|strong="H4196" unto the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* thy God|strong="H0430" upon the top|strong="H7218" of this rock|strong="H4581", in the ordered place|strong="H4634", and take|strong="H3947" the second|strong="H8145" bullock|strong="H6499", and offer|strong="H5927" a burnt sacrifice|strong="H5930" with the wood|strong="H6086" of the grove|strong="H0842" which thou shalt cut down|strong="H3772".

Then Gideon|strong="H1439" took|strong="H3947" ten|strong="H6235" men|strong="H0582" of his servants|strong="H5650", and did|strong="H6213" as the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* had said|strong="H1696" unto him: and so it was, because he feared|strong="H3372" his father’s|strong="H0001" household|strong="H1004", and the men|strong="H0582" of the city|strong="H5892", that he could not do|strong="H6213" it by day|strong="H3119", that he did|strong="H6213" it by night|strong="H3915".

And when the men|strong="H0582" of the city|strong="H5892" arose early|strong="H7925" in the morning|strong="H1242", behold, the altar|strong="H4196" of Baal|strong="H1168" was cast down|strong="H5422", and the grove|strong="H0842" was cut down|strong="H3772" that was by it, and the second|strong="H8145" bullock|strong="H6499" was offered|strong="H5927" upon the altar|strong="H4196" that was built|strong="H1129".

And they said|strong="H0559" one|strong="H0376" to another|strong="H7453", Who hath done|strong="H6213" this thing|strong="H1697"? And when they enquired|strong="H1875" and asked|strong="H1245", they said|strong="H0559", Gideon|strong="H1439" the son|strong="H1121" of Joash|strong="H3101" hath done|strong="H6213" this thing|strong="H1697".

Then the men|strong="H0582" of the city|strong="H5892" said|strong="H0559" unto Joash|strong="H3101", Bring out|strong="H3318" thy son|strong="H1121", that he may die|strong="H4191": because he hath cast down|strong="H5422" the altar|strong="H4196" of Baal|strong="H1168", and because he hath cut down|strong="H3772" the grove|strong="H0842" that was by it.

And Joash|strong="H3101" said|strong="H0559" unto all that stood|strong="H5975" against him, Will ye plead|strong="H7378" for Baal|strong="H1168"? will ye save|strong="H3467" him? he that will plead|strong="H7378" for him, let him be put to death|strong="H4191" whilst it is yet morning|strong="H1242": if he be a god|strong="H0430", let him plead|strong="H7378" for himself, because one hath cast down|strong="H5422" his altar|strong="H4196".

Therefore on that day|strong="H3117" he called|strong="H7121" him Jerubbaal|strong="H3378", saying|strong="H0559", Let Baal|strong="H1168" plead|strong="H7378" against him, because he hath thrown down|strong="H5422" his altar|strong="H4196".

Then all the Midianites|strong="H4080" and the Amalekites|strong="H6002" and the children|strong="H1121" of the east|strong="H6924" were gathered|strong="H0622" together|strong="H3162", and went over|strong="H5674", and pitched|strong="H2583" in the valley|strong="H6010" of Jezreel|strong="H3157".

But the Spirit|strong="H7307" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* came|strong="H3847" upon Gideon|strong="H1439", and he blew|strong="H8628" a trumpet|strong="H7782"; and Abi-ezer|strong="H0044" was gathered|strong="H2199" after|strong="H0310" him.

And he sent|strong="H7971" messengers|strong="H4397" throughout all Manasseh|strong="H4519"; who also was gathered|strong="H2199" after|strong="H0310" him: and he sent|strong="H7971" messengers|strong="H4397" unto Asher|strong="H0836", and unto Zebulun|strong="H2074", and unto Naphtali|strong="H5321"; and they came up|strong="H5927" to meet|strong="H7125" them.

And Gideon|strong="H1439" said|strong="H0559" unto God|strong="H0430", If thou wilt|strong="H3426" save|strong="H3467" Israel|strong="H3478" by mine hand|strong="H3027", as thou hast said|strong="H1696",

Behold, I will put|strong="H3322" a fleece|strong="H1492" of wool|strong="H6785" in the floor|strong="H1637"; and if the dew|strong="H2919" be on the fleece|strong="H1492" only, and it be dry|strong="H2721" upon all the earth|strong="H0776" beside, then shall I know|strong="H3045" that thou wilt save|strong="H3467" Israel|strong="H3478" by mine hand|strong="H3027", as thou hast said|strong="H1696".

And it was so: for he rose up early|strong="H7925" on the morrow|strong="H4283", and thrust|strong="H2115" the fleece|strong="H1492" together|strong="H2115", and wringed|strong="H4680" the dew|strong="H2919" out of the fleece|strong="H1492", a bowl|strong="H5602" full|strong="H4393" of water|strong="H4325".

And Gideon|strong="H1439" said|strong="H0559" unto God|strong="H0430", Let not thine anger|strong="H0639" be hot|strong="H2734" against me, and I will speak|strong="H1696" but this once|strong="H6471": let me prove|strong="H5254", I pray thee, but this once|strong="H6471" with the fleece|strong="H1492"; let it now be dry|strong="H2721" only upon the fleece|strong="H1492", and upon all the ground|strong="H0776" let there be dew|strong="H2919".

And God|strong="H0430" did|strong="H6213" so that night|strong="H3915": for it was dry|strong="H2721" upon the fleece|strong="H1492" only, and there was dew|strong="H2919" on all the ground|strong="H0776".
