2 The which Jeremiah|strong="H3414" the prophet|strong="H5030" spake|strong="H1696" unto all the people|strong="H5971" of Judah|strong="H3063", and to all the inhabitants|strong="H3427" of Jerusalem|strong="H3389", saying|strong="H0559",
3 From the thirteenth|strong="H7969" year|strong="H8141" of Josiah|strong="H2977" the son|strong="H1121" of Amon|strong="H0526" king|strong="H4428" of Judah|strong="H3063", even unto this day|strong="H3117", that is the three|strong="H7969" and twentieth|strong="H6242" year|strong="H8141", the word|strong="H1697" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* hath come unto me, and I have spoken|strong="H1696" unto you, rising early|strong="H7925" and speaking|strong="H1696"; but ye have not hearkened|strong="H8085".
4 And the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* hath sent|strong="H7971" unto you all his servants|strong="H5650" the prophets|strong="H5030", rising early|strong="H7925" and sending|strong="H7971" them; but ye have not hearkened|strong="H8085", nor inclined|strong="H5186" your ear|strong="H0241" to hear|strong="H8085".
5 They said|strong="H0559", Turn ye again|strong="H7725" now every one|strong="H0376" from his evil|strong="H7451" way|strong="H1870", and from the evil|strong="H7455" of your doings|strong="H4611", and dwell|strong="H3427" in the land|strong="H0127" that the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* hath given|strong="H5414" unto you and to your fathers|strong="H0001" for|strong="H5704" ever|strong="H5769" and ever|strong="H5769":
6 And go|strong="H3212" not after|strong="H0310" other|strong="H0312" gods|strong="H0430" to serve|strong="H5647" them, and to worship|strong="H7812" them, and provoke me not to anger|strong="H3707" with the works|strong="H4639" of your hands|strong="H3027"; and I will do you no hurt|strong="H7489".
7 Yet ye have not hearkened|strong="H8085" unto me, saith|strong="H5002" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*; that ye might provoke me to anger|strong="H3707" with the works|strong="H4639" of your hands|strong="H3027" to your own hurt|strong="H7451".
8 Therefore thus saith|strong="H0559" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* of hosts|strong="H6635"; Because ye have not heard|strong="H8085" my words|strong="H1697",
9 Behold, I will send|strong="H7971" and take|strong="H3947" all the families|strong="H4940" of the north|strong="H6828", saith|strong="H5002" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, and Nebuchadrezzar|strong="H5019" the king|strong="H4428" of Babylon|strong="H0894", my servant|strong="H5650", and will bring|strong="H0935" them against this land|strong="H0776", and against the inhabitants|strong="H3427" thereof, and against all these nations|strong="H1471" round about|strong="H5439", and will utterly destroy|strong="H2763" them, and make|strong="H7760" them an astonishment|strong="H8047", and an hissing|strong="H8322", and perpetual|strong="H5769" desolations|strong="H2723".
10 Moreover I will take|strong="H0006" from them the voice|strong="H6963" of mirth|strong="H8342", and the voice|strong="H6963" of gladness|strong="H8057", the voice|strong="H6963" of the bridegroom|strong="H2860", and the voice|strong="H6963" of the bride|strong="H3618", the sound|strong="H6963" of the millstones|strong="H7347", and the light|strong="H0216" of the candle|strong="H5216".
11 And this whole land|strong="H0776" shall be a desolation|strong="H2723", and an astonishment|strong="H8047"; and these nations|strong="H1471" shall serve|strong="H5647" the king|strong="H4428" of Babylon|strong="H0894" seventy|strong="H7657" years|strong="H8141".
12 And it shall come to pass, when seventy|strong="H7657" years|strong="H8141" are accomplished|strong="H4390", that I will punish|strong="H6485" the king|strong="H4428" of Babylon|strong="H0894", and that nation|strong="H1471", saith|strong="H5002" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, for their iniquity|strong="H5771", and the land|strong="H0776" of the Chaldeans|strong="H3778", and will make|strong="H7760" it perpetual|strong="H5769" desolations|strong="H8077".
13 And I will bring|strong="H0935" upon that land|strong="H0776" all my words|strong="H1697" which I have pronounced|strong="H1696" against it, even all that is written|strong="H3789" in this book|strong="H5612", which Jeremiah|strong="H3414" hath prophesied|strong="H5012" against all the nations|strong="H1471".
14 For many|strong="H7227" nations|strong="H1471" and great|strong="H1419" kings|strong="H4428" shall serve|strong="H5647" themselves of them also: and I will recompense|strong="H7999" them according to their deeds|strong="H6467", and according to the works|strong="H4639" of their own hands|strong="H3027".
15 For thus saith|strong="H0559" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* God|strong="H0430" of Israel|strong="H3478" unto me; Take|strong="H3947" the wine|strong="H3196" cup|strong="H3563" of this fury|strong="H2534" at my hand|strong="H3027", and cause all the nations|strong="H1471", to whom I send|strong="H7971" thee, to drink|strong="H8248" it.
16 And they shall drink|strong="H8354", and be moved|strong="H1607", and be mad|strong="H1984", because|strong="H6440" of the sword|strong="H2719" that I will send|strong="H7971" among them.
17 Then took|strong="H3947" I the cup|strong="H3563" at the \+w LORD’s|strong="H3068"\+w* hand|strong="H3027", and made all the nations|strong="H1471" to drink|strong="H8248", unto whom the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* had sent|strong="H7971" me:
18 To wit, Jerusalem|strong="H3389", and the cities|strong="H5892" of Judah|strong="H3063", and the kings|strong="H4428" thereof, and the princes|strong="H8269" thereof, to make|strong="H5414" them a desolation|strong="H2723", an astonishment|strong="H8047", an hissing|strong="H8322", and a curse|strong="H7045"; as it is this day|strong="H3117";
19 Pharaoh|strong="H6547" king|strong="H4428" of Egypt|strong="H4714", and his servants|strong="H5650", and his princes|strong="H8269", and all his people|strong="H5971";
20 And all the mingled|strong="H6153" people, and all the kings|strong="H4428" of the land|strong="H0776" of Uz|strong="H5780", and all the kings|strong="H4428" of the land|strong="H0776" of the Philistines|strong="H6430", and Ashkelon|strong="H0831", and Azzah|strong="H5804", and Ekron|strong="H6138", and the remnant|strong="H7611" of Ashdod|strong="H0795",
21 Edom|strong="H0123", and Moab|strong="H4124", and the children|strong="H1121" of Ammon|strong="H5983",
22 And all the kings|strong="H4428" of Tyrus|strong="H6865", and all the kings|strong="H4428" of Zidon|strong="H6721", and the kings|strong="H4428" of the isles|strong="H0339" which are beyond|strong="H5676" the sea|strong="H3220",
23 Dedan|strong="H1719", and Tema|strong="H8485", and Buz|strong="H0938", and all that are in the utmost|strong="H7112" corners|strong="H6285",
24 And all the kings|strong="H4428" of Arabia|strong="H6152", and all the kings|strong="H4428" of the mingled people|strong="H6153" that dwell|strong="H7931" in the desert|strong="H4057",
25 And all the kings|strong="H4428" of Zimri|strong="H2174", and all the kings|strong="H4428" of Elam|strong="H5867", and all the kings|strong="H4428" of the Medes|strong="H4074",
26 And all the kings|strong="H4428" of the north|strong="H6828", far|strong="H7350" and near|strong="H7138", one|strong="H0376" with another|strong="H0251", and all the kingdoms|strong="H4467" of the world|strong="H0776", which are upon the face|strong="H6440" of the earth|strong="H0127": and the king|strong="H4428" of Sheshach|strong="H8347" shall drink|strong="H8354" after|strong="H0310" them.
27 Therefore thou shalt say|strong="H0559" unto them, Thus saith|strong="H0559" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* of hosts|strong="H6635", the God|strong="H0430" of Israel|strong="H3478"; Drink|strong="H8354" ye, and be drunken|strong="H7937", and spue|strong="H7006", and fall|strong="H5307", and rise|strong="H6965" no more, because|strong="H6440" of the sword|strong="H2719" which I will send|strong="H7971" among you.
28 And it shall be, if they refuse|strong="H3985" to take|strong="H3947" the cup|strong="H3563" at thine hand|strong="H3027" to drink|strong="H8354", then shalt thou say|strong="H0559" unto them, Thus saith|strong="H0559" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* of hosts|strong="H6635"; Ye shall certainly|strong="H8354" drink|strong="H8354".
29 For, lo, I begin|strong="H2490" to bring evil|strong="H7489" on the city|strong="H5892" which is called|strong="H7121" by my name|strong="H8034", and should ye be utterly|strong="H5352" unpunished|strong="H5352"? Ye shall not be unpunished|strong="H5352": for I will call|strong="H7121" for a sword|strong="H2719" upon all the inhabitants|strong="H3427" of the earth|strong="H0776", saith|strong="H5002" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* of hosts|strong="H6635".
30 Therefore prophesy|strong="H5012" thou against them all these words|strong="H1697", and say|strong="H0559" unto them, The \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* shall roar|strong="H7580" from on high|strong="H4791", and utter|strong="H5414" his voice|strong="H6963" from his holy|strong="H6944" habitation|strong="H4583"; he shall mightily|strong="H7580" roar|strong="H7580" upon his habitation|strong="H5116"; he shall give|strong="H6030" a shout|strong="H1959", as they that tread|strong="H1869" the grapes, against all the inhabitants|strong="H3427" of the earth|strong="H0776".
31 A noise|strong="H7588" shall come|strong="H0935" even to the ends|strong="H7097" of the earth|strong="H0776"; for the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* hath a controversy|strong="H7379" with the nations|strong="H1471", he will plead|strong="H8199" with all flesh|strong="H1320"; he will give|strong="H5414" them that are wicked|strong="H7563" to the sword|strong="H2719", saith|strong="H5002" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*.
32 Thus saith|strong="H0559" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* of hosts|strong="H6635", Behold, evil|strong="H7451" shall go forth|strong="H3318" from nation|strong="H1471" to nation|strong="H1471", and a great|strong="H1419" whirlwind|strong="H5591" shall be raised up|strong="H5782" from the coasts|strong="H3411" of the earth|strong="H0776".
33 And the slain|strong="H2491" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* shall be at that day|strong="H3117" from one end|strong="H7097" of the earth|strong="H0776" even unto the other end|strong="H7097" of the earth|strong="H0776": they shall not be lamented|strong="H5594", neither gathered|strong="H0622", nor buried|strong="H6912"; they shall be dung|strong="H1828" upon|strong="H6440" the ground|strong="H0127".
34 Howl|strong="H3213", ye shepherds|strong="H7462", and cry|strong="H2199"; and wallow|strong="H6428" yourselves in the ashes, ye principal|strong="H0117" of the flock|strong="H6629": for the days|strong="H3117" of your slaughter|strong="H2873" and of your dispersions|strong="H8600" are accomplished|strong="H4390"; and ye shall fall|strong="H5307" like a pleasant|strong="H2532" vessel|strong="H3627".
35 And the shepherds|strong="H7462" shall have no way|strong="H4498" to flee|strong="H0006", nor the principal|strong="H0117" of the flock|strong="H6629" to escape|strong="H6413".
36 A voice|strong="H6963" of the cry|strong="H6818" of the shepherds|strong="H7462", and an howling|strong="H3215" of the principal|strong="H0117" of the flock|strong="H6629", shall be heard: for the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* hath spoiled|strong="H7703" their pasture|strong="H4830".
37 And the peaceable|strong="H7965" habitations|strong="H4999" are cut down|strong="H1826" because|strong="H6440" of the fierce|strong="H2740" anger|strong="H0639" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*.
38 He hath forsaken|strong="H5800" his covert|strong="H5520", as the lion|strong="H3715": for their land|strong="H0776" is desolate|strong="H8047" because|strong="H6440" of the fierceness|strong="H2740" of the oppressor|strong="H3238", and because|strong="H6440" of his fierce|strong="H2740" anger|strong="H0639".
