Jó 9

King James (Authorized) Version (ENG-KJV2006)

Then Job|strong="H0347" answered|strong="H6030" and said|strong="H0559",

I know|strong="H3045" it is so of a truth|strong="H0551": but how should man|strong="H0582" be just|strong="H6663" with God|strong="H0410"?

If he will|strong="H2654" contend|strong="H7378" with him, he cannot answer|strong="H6030" him one|strong="H0259" of a thousand|strong="H0505".

He is wise|strong="H2450" in heart|strong="H3824", and mighty|strong="H0533" in strength|strong="H3581": who hath hardened|strong="H7185" himself against him, and hath prospered|strong="H7999"?

Which removeth|strong="H6275" the mountains|strong="H2022", and they know|strong="H3045" not: which overturneth|strong="H2015" them in his anger|strong="H0639".

Which shaketh|strong="H7264" the earth|strong="H0776" out of her place|strong="H4725", and the pillars|strong="H5982" thereof tremble|strong="H6426".

Which commandeth|strong="H0559" the sun|strong="H2775", and it riseth|strong="H2224" not; and sealeth up|strong="H2856" the stars|strong="H3556".

Which alone spreadeth out|strong="H5186" the heavens|strong="H8064", and treadeth|strong="H1869" upon the waves|strong="H1116" of the sea|strong="H3220".

Which maketh|strong="H6213" Arcturus|strong="H5906", Orion|strong="H3685", and Pleiades|strong="H3598", and the chambers|strong="H2315" of the south|strong="H8486".

Which doeth|strong="H6213" great things|strong="H1419" past|strong="H0369" finding out|strong="H2714"; yea, and wonders|strong="H6381" without number|strong="H4557".

Lo, he goeth|strong="H5674" by me, and I see|strong="H7200" him not: he passeth on|strong="H2498" also, but I perceive|strong="H0995" him not.

Behold, he taketh away|strong="H2862", who can hinder|strong="H7725" him? who will say|strong="H0559" unto him, What doest|strong="H6213" thou?

If God|strong="H0433" will not withdraw|strong="H7725" his anger|strong="H0639", the proud|strong="H7293" helpers|strong="H5826" do stoop|strong="H7817" under him.

How much less shall I answer|strong="H6030" him, and choose out|strong="H0977" my words|strong="H1697" to reason with him?

Whom, though I were righteous|strong="H6663", yet would I not answer|strong="H6030", but I would make supplication|strong="H2603" to my judge|strong="H8199".

If I had called|strong="H7121", and he had answered|strong="H6030" me; yet would I not believe|strong="H0539" that he had hearkened|strong="H0238" unto my voice|strong="H6963".

For he breaketh|strong="H7779" me with a tempest|strong="H8183", and multiplieth|strong="H7235" my wounds|strong="H6482" without cause|strong="H2600".

He will not suffer|strong="H5414" me to take|strong="H7725" my breath|strong="H7307", but filleth|strong="H7646" me with bitterness|strong="H4472".

If I speak of strength|strong="H3581", lo, he is strong|strong="H0533": and if of judgment|strong="H4941", who shall set|strong="H3259" me a time to plead?

If I justify|strong="H6663" myself, mine own mouth|strong="H6310" shall condemn|strong="H7561" me: if I say, I am perfect|strong="H8535", it shall also prove me perverse|strong="H6140".

Though I were perfect|strong="H8535", yet would I not know|strong="H3045" my soul|strong="H5315": I would despise|strong="H3988" my life|strong="H2416".

This is one|strong="H0259" thing, therefore I said|strong="H0559" it, He destroyeth|strong="H3615" the perfect|strong="H8535" and the wicked|strong="H7563".

If the scourge|strong="H7752" slay|strong="H4191" suddenly|strong="H6597", he will laugh|strong="H3932" at the trial|strong="H4531" of the innocent|strong="H5355".

The earth|strong="H0776" is given|strong="H5414" into the hand|strong="H3027" of the wicked|strong="H7563": he covereth|strong="H3680" the faces|strong="H6440" of the judges|strong="H8199" thereof; if not, where|strong="H0645", and who is he?

Now my days|strong="H3117" are swifter|strong="H7043" than a post|strong="H7323": they flee away|strong="H1272", they see|strong="H7200" no good|strong="H2896".

They are passed away|strong="H2498" as|strong="H5973" the swift|strong="H0016" ships|strong="H0591": as the eagle|strong="H5404" that hasteth|strong="H2907" to the prey|strong="H0400".

If I say|strong="H0559", I will forget|strong="H7911" my complaint|strong="H7879", I will leave off|strong="H5800" my heaviness|strong="H6440", and comfort|strong="H1082" myself:

I am afraid|strong="H3025" of all my sorrows|strong="H6094", I know|strong="H3045" that thou wilt not hold me innocent|strong="H5352".

If I be wicked|strong="H7561", why then labour|strong="H3021" I in vain|strong="H1892"?

If I wash|strong="H7364" myself with|strong="H7950" snow water|strong="H4325", and make my hands|strong="H3709" never|strong="H1252" so clean|strong="H2141";

Yet|strong="H0227" shalt thou plunge|strong="H2881" me in the ditch|strong="H7845", and mine own clothes|strong="H8008" shall abhor|strong="H8581" me.

For he is not a man|strong="H0376", as I am, that I should answer|strong="H6030" him, and we should come|strong="H0935" together|strong="H3162" in judgment|strong="H4941".

Neither is|strong="H3426" there any daysman|strong="H3198" betwixt us, that might lay|strong="H7896" his hand|strong="H3027" upon us both|strong="H8147".

Let him take|strong="H5493" his rod|strong="H7626" away|strong="H5493" from me, and let not his fear|strong="H0367" terrify|strong="H1204" me:

Then would I speak|strong="H1696", and not fear|strong="H3372" him; but it is not so with me.
