Jó 7

King James (Authorized) Version (ENG-KJV2006)

Is there not an appointed time|strong="H6635" to man|strong="H0582" upon earth|strong="H0776"? are not his days|strong="H3117" also like the days|strong="H3117" of an hireling|strong="H7916"?

As a servant|strong="H5650" earnestly desireth|strong="H7602" the shadow|strong="H6738", and as an hireling|strong="H7916" looketh|strong="H6960" for the reward of his work|strong="H6467":

So am I made to possess|strong="H5157" months|strong="H3391" of vanity|strong="H7723", and wearisome|strong="H5999" nights|strong="H3915" are appointed|strong="H4487" to me.

When I lie down|strong="H7901", I say|strong="H0559", When shall I arise|strong="H6965", and the night|strong="H6153" be gone|strong="H4059"? and I am full|strong="H7646" of tossings to and fro|strong="H5076" unto the dawning of the day|strong="H5399".

My flesh|strong="H1320" is clothed|strong="H3847" with worms|strong="H7415" and clods|strong="H1487" of dust|strong="H6083"; my skin|strong="H5785" is broken|strong="H7280", and become loathsome|strong="H3988".

My days|strong="H3117" are swifter|strong="H7043" than a weaver’s shuttle|strong="H0708", and are spent|strong="H3615" without|strong="H0657" hope|strong="H8615".

O remember|strong="H2142" that my life|strong="H2416" is wind|strong="H7307": mine eye|strong="H5869" shall no more|strong="H7725" see|strong="H7200" good|strong="H2896".

The eye|strong="H5869" of him that hath seen|strong="H7210" me shall see|strong="H7789" me no more: thine eyes|strong="H5869" are upon me, and I am not.

As the cloud|strong="H6051" is consumed|strong="H3615" and vanisheth away|strong="H3212": so he that goeth down|strong="H3381" to the grave|strong="H7585" shall come up|strong="H5927" no more.

He shall return|strong="H7725" no more to his house|strong="H1004", neither shall his place|strong="H4725" know|strong="H5234" him any more.

Therefore I will not refrain|strong="H2820" my mouth|strong="H6310"; I will speak|strong="H1696" in the anguish|strong="H6862" of my spirit|strong="H7307"; I will complain|strong="H7878" in the bitterness|strong="H4751" of my soul|strong="H5315".

Am I a sea|strong="H3220", or a whale|strong="H8577", that thou settest|strong="H7760" a watch|strong="H4929" over me?

When I say|strong="H0559", My bed|strong="H6210" shall comfort|strong="H5162" me, my couch|strong="H4904" shall ease|strong="H5375" my complaint|strong="H7879";

Then thou scarest|strong="H2865" me with dreams|strong="H2472", and terrifiest|strong="H1204" me through visions|strong="H2384":

So that my soul|strong="H5315" chooseth|strong="H0977" strangling|strong="H4267", and death|strong="H4194" rather than my life|strong="H6106".

I loathe|strong="H3988" it; I would not live|strong="H2421" alway|strong="H5769": let me alone|strong="H2308"; for my days|strong="H3117" are vanity|strong="H1892".

What is man|strong="H0582", that thou shouldest magnify|strong="H1431" him? and that thou shouldest set|strong="H7896" thine heart|strong="H3820" upon him?

And that thou shouldest visit|strong="H6485" him every morning|strong="H1242", and try|strong="H0974" him every moment|strong="H7281"?

How long|strong="H4100" wilt thou not depart|strong="H8159" from me, nor let me alone|strong="H7503" till I swallow down|strong="H1104" my spittle|strong="H7536"?

I have sinned|strong="H2398"; what shall I do|strong="H6466" unto thee, O thou preserver|strong="H5341" of men|strong="H0120"? why hast thou set|strong="H7760" me as a mark|strong="H4645" against thee, so that I am a burden|strong="H4853" to myself?

And why dost thou not pardon|strong="H5375" my transgression|strong="H6588", and take away|strong="H5674" mine iniquity|strong="H5771"? for now shall I sleep|strong="H7901" in the dust|strong="H6083"; and thou shalt seek me in the morning|strong="H7836", but I shall not be.
