1 There was a man|strong="H0376" in the land|strong="H0776" of Uz|strong="H5780", whose name|strong="H8034" was Job|strong="H0347"; and that man|strong="H0376" was perfect|strong="H8535" and upright|strong="H3477", and one that feared|strong="H3373" God|strong="H0430", and eschewed|strong="H5493" evil|strong="H7451".
1 Havia um homem na terra de Uz, cujo nome era Jó; e este era homem sincero, reto e temente a Deus; e desviava-se do mal.
2 And there were born|strong="H3205" unto him seven|strong="H7651" sons|strong="H1121" and three|strong="H7969" daughters|strong="H1323".
2 E nasceram-lhe sete filhos e três filhas.
3 His substance|strong="H4735" also was seven|strong="H7651" thousand|strong="H0505" sheep|strong="H6629", and three|strong="H7969" thousand|strong="H0505" camels|strong="H1581", and five|strong="H2568" hundred|strong="H3967" yoke|strong="H6776" of oxen|strong="H1241", and five|strong="H2568" hundred|strong="H3967" she asses|strong="H0860", and a very|strong="H3966" great|strong="H7227" household|strong="H5657"; so that this man|strong="H0376" was the greatest|strong="H1419" of all the men|strong="H1121" of the east|strong="H6924".
3 E era o seu gado sete mil ovelhas, e três mil camelos, e quinhentas juntas de bois, e quinhentas jumentas; era também muitíssima a gente ao seu serviço, de maneira que este homem era maior do que todos os do Oriente.
4 And his sons|strong="H1121" went|strong="H1980" and feasted|strong="H4960" in their houses|strong="H1004", every one|strong="H0376" his day|strong="H3117"; and sent|strong="H7971" and called|strong="H7121" for their three|strong="H7969" sisters|strong="H0269" to eat|strong="H0398" and to drink|strong="H8354" with them.
4 E iam seus filhos e faziam banquetes em casa de cada um no seu dia; e enviavam e convidavam as suas três irmãs a comerem e beberem com eles.
5 And it was so, when the days|strong="H3117" of their feasting|strong="H4960" were gone about|strong="H5362", that Job|strong="H0347" sent|strong="H7971" and sanctified|strong="H6942" them, and rose up early|strong="H7925" in the morning|strong="H1242", and offered|strong="H5927" burnt offerings|strong="H5930" according to the number|strong="H4557" of them all: for Job|strong="H0347" said|strong="H0559", It may be|strong="H0194" that my sons|strong="H1121" have sinned|strong="H2398", and cursed|strong="H1288" God|strong="H0430" in their hearts|strong="H3824". Thus did|strong="H6213" Job|strong="H0347" continually|strong="H3117".
5 Sucedia, pois, que, tendo decorrido o turno de dias de seus banquetes, enviava Jó, e os santificava, e se levantava de madrugada, e oferecia holocaustos segundo o número de todos eles; porque dizia Jó: Porventura, pecaram meus filhos e blasfemaram de Deus no seu coração. Assim o fazia Jó continuamente.
6 Now there was a day|strong="H3117" when the sons|strong="H1121" of God|strong="H0430" came|strong="H0935" to present|strong="H3320" themselves before the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, and Satan|strong="H7854" came|strong="H0935" also among|strong="H8432" them.
6 E vindo um dia em que os filhos de Deus vieram apresentar-se perante o Senhor , veio também Satanás entre eles.
7 And the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* said|strong="H0559" unto Satan|strong="H7854", Whence|strong="H0370" comest|strong="H0935" thou? Then Satan|strong="H7854" answered|strong="H6030" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, and said|strong="H0559", From going to and fro|strong="H7751" in the earth|strong="H0776", and from walking up and down|strong="H1980" in it.
7 Então, o Senhor disse a Satanás: De onde vens? E Satanás respondeu ao Senhor e disse: De rodear a terra e passear por ela.
8 And the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* said|strong="H0559" unto Satan|strong="H7854", Hast thou considered|strong="H7760" my servant|strong="H5650" Job|strong="H0347", that there is none like him in the earth|strong="H0776", a perfect|strong="H8535" and an upright|strong="H3477" man|strong="H0376", one that feareth|strong="H3373" God|strong="H0430", and escheweth|strong="H5493" evil|strong="H7451"?
8 E disse o Senhor a Satanás: Observaste tu a meu servo Jó? Porque ninguém há na terra semelhante a ele, homem sincero, e reto, e temente a Deus, e desviando-se do mal.
9 Then Satan|strong="H7854" answered|strong="H6030" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, and said|strong="H0559", Doth Job|strong="H0347" fear|strong="H3372" God|strong="H0430" for nought|strong="H2600"?
9 Então, respondeu Satanás ao Senhor e disse: Porventura, teme Jó a Deus debalde?
10 Hast not thou made an hedge|strong="H7753" about him, and about|strong="H1157" his house|strong="H1004", and about all that he hath on every side|strong="H5439"? thou hast blessed|strong="H1288" the work|strong="H4639" of his hands|strong="H3027", and his substance|strong="H4735" is increased|strong="H6555" in the land|strong="H0776".
10 Porventura, não o cercaste tu de bens a ele, e a sua casa, e a tudo quanto tem? A obra de suas mãos abençoaste, e o seu gado está aumentado na terra.
11 But|strong="H0199" put forth|strong="H7971" thine hand|strong="H3027" now, and touch|strong="H5060" all that he hath, and he will curse|strong="H1288" thee to thy face|strong="H6440".
11 Mas estende a tua mão, e toca- lhe em tudo quanto tem, e verás se não blasfema de ti na tua face!
12 And the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* said|strong="H0559" unto Satan|strong="H7854", Behold, all that he hath is in thy power|strong="H3027"; only upon himself put not forth|strong="H7971" thine hand|strong="H3027". So Satan|strong="H7854" went forth|strong="H3318" from the presence|strong="H6440" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*.
12 E disse o Senhor a Satanás: Eis que tudo quanto tem está na tua mão; somente contra ele não estendas a tua mão. E Satanás saiu da presença do Senhor .
13 And there was a day|strong="H3117" when his sons|strong="H1121" and his daughters|strong="H1323" were eating|strong="H0398" and drinking|strong="H8354" wine|strong="H3196" in their eldest|strong="H1060" brother’s|strong="H0251" house|strong="H1004":
13 E sucedeu um dia, em que seus filhos e suas filhas comiam e bebiam vinho na casa de seu irmão primogênito,
14 And there came|strong="H0935" a messenger|strong="H4397" unto Job|strong="H0347", and said|strong="H0559", The oxen|strong="H1241" were plowing|strong="H2790", and the asses|strong="H0860" feeding|strong="H7462" beside|strong="H3027" them:
14 que veio um mensageiro a Jó e lhe disse: Os bois lavravam, e as jumentas pasciam junto a eles;
15 And the Sabeans|strong="H7614" fell|strong="H5307" upon them, and took them away|strong="H3947"; yea, they have slain|strong="H5221" the servants|strong="H5288" with the edge|strong="H6310" of the sword|strong="H2719"; and I only am escaped|strong="H4422" alone to tell|strong="H5046" thee.
15 e eis que deram sobre eles os sabeus, e os tomaram, e aos moços feriram ao fio da espada; e eu somente escapei, para te trazer a nova.
16 While he was yet speaking|strong="H1696", there came|strong="H0935" also another, and said|strong="H0559", The fire|strong="H0784" of God|strong="H0430" is fallen|strong="H5307" from heaven|strong="H8064", and hath burned up|strong="H1197" the sheep|strong="H6629", and the servants|strong="H5288", and consumed|strong="H0398" them; and I only am escaped|strong="H4422" alone to tell|strong="H5046" thee.
16 Estando este ainda falando, veio outro e disse: Fogo de Deus caiu do céu, e queimou as ovelhas e os moços, e os consumiu; e só eu escapei, para te trazer a nova.
17 While he was yet speaking|strong="H1696", there came|strong="H0935" also another, and said|strong="H0559", The Chaldeans|strong="H3778" made out|strong="H7760" three|strong="H7969" bands|strong="H7218", and fell|strong="H6584" upon the camels|strong="H1581", and have carried them away|strong="H3947", yea, and slain|strong="H5221" the servants|strong="H5288" with the edge|strong="H6310" of the sword|strong="H2719"; and I only am escaped|strong="H4422" alone to tell|strong="H5046" thee.
17 Estando ainda este falando, veio outro e disse: Ordenando os caldeus três bandos, deram sobre os camelos, e os tomaram, e aos moços feriram ao fio da espada; e só eu escapei, para te trazer a nova.
18 While he was yet speaking|strong="H1696", there came|strong="H0935" also another, and said|strong="H0559", Thy sons|strong="H1121" and thy daughters|strong="H1323" were eating|strong="H0398" and drinking|strong="H8354" wine|strong="H3196" in their eldest|strong="H1060" brother’s|strong="H0251" house|strong="H1004":
18 Estando ainda este falando veio outro e disse: Estando teus filhos e tuas filhas comendo e bebendo vinho, em casa de seu irmão primogênito,
19 And, behold, there came|strong="H0935" a great|strong="H1419" wind|strong="H7307" from|strong="H5676" the wilderness|strong="H4057", and smote|strong="H5060" the four|strong="H0702" corners|strong="H6438" of the house|strong="H1004", and it fell|strong="H5307" upon the young men|strong="H5288", and they are dead|strong="H4191"; and I only am escaped|strong="H4422" alone to tell|strong="H5046" thee.
19 eis que um grande vento sobreveio dalém do deserto, e deu nos quatro cantos da casa, a qual caiu sobre os jovens, e morreram; e só eu escapei, para te trazer a nova.
20 Then Job|strong="H0347" arose|strong="H6965", and rent|strong="H7167" his mantle|strong="H4598", and shaved|strong="H1494" his head|strong="H7218", and fell down|strong="H5307" upon the ground|strong="H0776", and worshipped|strong="H7812",
20 Então, Jó se levantou, e rasgou o seu manto, e rapou a sua cabeça, e se lançou em terra, e adorou,
21 And said|strong="H0559", Naked|strong="H6174" came I out|strong="H3318" of my mother’s|strong="H0517" womb|strong="H0990", and naked|strong="H6174" shall I return|strong="H7725" thither: the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* gave|strong="H5414", and the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* hath taken away|strong="H3947"; blessed|strong="H1288" be the name|strong="H8034" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*.
21 e disse: Nu saí do ventre de minha mãe e nu tornarei para lá; o Senhor o deu e o Senhor o tomou; bendito seja o nome do Senhor .
22 In all this Job|strong="H0347" sinned|strong="H2398" not, nor charged|strong="H5414" God|strong="H0430" foolishly|strong="H8604".
22 Em tudo isto Jó não pecou, nem atribuiu a Deus falta alguma.
