1 Tendo Jesus dito isto, saiu com seus discípulos para o outro lado do ribeiro de Cedrom, onde havia um jardim, e com eles ali entrou.
2 And|strong="G1161" Judas|strong="G2455" also|strong="G2532", which|strong="G3588" betrayed|strong="G3860" him|strong="G0846", knew|strong="G1492" the place|strong="G5117": for|strong="G3754" Jesus|strong="G2424" ofttimes|strong="G4178" resorted|strong="G4863" thither|strong="G1563" with|strong="G3326" his|strong="G0846" disciples|strong="G3101".
2 Ora, Judas, que o traía, também conhecia aquele lugar, porque muitas vezes Jesus se reunira ali com os discípulos.
3 Judas|strong="G2455" then|strong="G3767", having received|strong="G2983" a band|strong="G4686" of men and|strong="G2532" officers|strong="G5257" from|strong="G1537" the chief priests|strong="G0749" and|strong="G2532" Pharisees|strong="G5330", cometh|strong="G2064" thither|strong="G1563" with|strong="G3326" lanterns|strong="G5322" and|strong="G2532" torches|strong="G2985" and|strong="G2532" weapons|strong="G3696".
3 Tendo, pois, Judas tomado a corte e uns guardas da parte dos principais sacerdotes e fariseus, chegou ali com lanternas archotes e armas.
4 Jesus|strong="G2424" therefore|strong="G3767", knowing|strong="G1492" all things|strong="G3956" that|strong="G3588" should come|strong="G2064" upon|strong="G1909" him|strong="G0846", went forth|strong="G1831", and said|strong="G2036" unto them|strong="G0846", \+w Whom|strong="G5101"\+w* \+w seek ye|strong="G2212"\+w*?
4 Sabendo, pois, Jesus tudo o que lhe havia de suceder, adiantou-se e perguntou-lhes: A quem buscais?
5 They answered|strong="G0611" him|strong="G0846", Jesus|strong="G2424" of Nazareth|strong="G3480". Jesus|strong="G2424" saith|strong="G3004" unto them|strong="G0846", \+w I|strong="G1473"\+w* \+w am|strong="G1510"\+w* \+add he\+add*. 5 Responderam-lhe: A Jesus, o nazareno. Disse-lhes Jesus: Sou eu. E Judas, que o traía, também estava com eles.
6 As soon|strong="G5613" then|strong="G3767" as he had said|strong="G2036" unto them|strong="G0846", I|strong="G1473" am|strong="G1510" he, they went|strong="G0565" backward|strong="G3694", and|strong="G2532" fell|strong="G4098" to the ground|strong="G5476".
6 Quando Jesus lhes disse: Sou eu, recuaram, e caíram por terra.

7 Tornou-lhes então a perguntar: A quem buscais? e responderam: A Jesus, o nazareno.

8 Replicou-lhes Jesus: Já vos disse que sou eu; se, pois, é a mim que buscais, deixai ir estes;

9 para que se cumprisse a palavra que dissera: Dos que me tens dado, nenhum deles perdi.
10 Then|strong="G3767" Simon|strong="G4613" Peter|strong="G4074" having|strong="G2192" a sword|strong="G3162" drew|strong="G1670" it|strong="G0846", and|strong="G2532" smote|strong="G3817" the high priest’s|strong="G0749" servant|strong="G1401", and|strong="G2532" cut off|strong="G0609" his|strong="G0846" right|strong="G1188" ear|strong="G5621". The servant’s|strong="G1401" name|strong="G3686" was|strong="G2258" Malchus|strong="G3124".
10 Então Simão Pedro, que tinha uma espada, desembainhou-a e feriu o servo do sumo sacerdote, cortando-lhe a orelha direita. O nome do servo era Malco.

11 Disse, pois, Jesus a Pedro: Mete a tua espada na bainha; não hei de beber o cálice que o Pai me deu?
12 Then|strong="G3767" the band|strong="G4686" and|strong="G2532" the captain|strong="G5506" and|strong="G2532" officers|strong="G5257" of the Jews|strong="G2453" took|strong="G4815" Jesus|strong="G2424", and|strong="G2532" bound|strong="G1210" him|strong="G0846",
12 Então a escolta, e o comandante, e os guardas dos judeus prenderam a Jesus, e o maniataram.
13 And|strong="G2532" led|strong="G0520" him|strong="G0846" away|strong="G0520" to|strong="G4314" Annas|strong="G0452" first|strong="G4412"; for|strong="G1063" he was|strong="G2258" father in law|strong="G3995" to Caiaphas|strong="G2533", which|strong="G3739" was|strong="G2258" the high priest|strong="G0749" that same|strong="G1565" year|strong="G1763".
13 E conduziram-no primeiramente a Anás; pois era sogro de Caifás, sumo sacerdote naquele ano.
14 Now|strong="G1161" Caiaphas|strong="G2533" was|strong="G2258" he, which|strong="G3588" gave counsel|strong="G4823" to the Jews|strong="G2453", that|strong="G3754" it was expedient that|strong="G4851" one|strong="G1520" man|strong="G0444" should die|strong="G0622" for|strong="G5228" the people|strong="G2992".
14 Ora, Caifás era quem aconselhara aos judeus que convinha morrer um homem pelo povo.
15 And|strong="G1161" Simon|strong="G4613" Peter|strong="G4074" followed|strong="G0190" Jesus|strong="G2424", and|strong="G2532" so did another|strong="G0243" disciple|strong="G3101": that|strong="G1565" disciple|strong="G3101" was|strong="G2258" known|strong="G1110" unto the high priest|strong="G0749", and|strong="G2532" went in with|strong="G4897" Jesus|strong="G2424" into|strong="G1519" the palace|strong="G0833" of the high priest|strong="G0749".
15 Simão Pedro e outro discípulo seguiam a Jesus. Este discípulo era conhecido do sumo sacerdote, e entrou com Jesus no pátio do sumo sacerdote,
16 But|strong="G1161" Peter|strong="G4074" stood|strong="G2476" at|strong="G4314" the door|strong="G2374" without|strong="G1854". Then|strong="G3767" went out|strong="G1831" that|strong="G3588" other|strong="G0243" disciple|strong="G3101", which|strong="G3739" was|strong="G2258" known|strong="G1110" unto the high priest|strong="G0749", and|strong="G2532" spake|strong="G2036" unto her that kept the door|strong="G2377", and|strong="G2532" brought in|strong="G1521" Peter|strong="G4074".
16 enquanto Pedro ficava da parte de fora, à porta. Saiu, então, o outro discípulo que era conhecido do sumo sacerdote, falou à porteira, e levou Pedro para dentro.
17 Then|strong="G3767" saith|strong="G3004" the damsel|strong="G3814" that|strong="G1565" kept the door|strong="G2377" unto Peter|strong="G4074", Art|strong="G1488" not|strong="G3361" thou|strong="G4771" also|strong="G2532" one of|strong="G1537" this|strong="G5127" man’s|strong="G0444" disciples|strong="G3101"? He saith|strong="G3004", I am|strong="G1510" not|strong="G3756".
17 Então a porteira perguntou a Pedro: Não és tu também um dos discípulos deste homem? Respondeu ele: Não sou.
18 And|strong="G1161" the servants|strong="G1401" and|strong="G2532" officers|strong="G5257" stood there|strong="G2476", who had made|strong="G4160" a fire of coals|strong="G0439"; for|strong="G3754" it was|strong="G2258" cold|strong="G5592": and|strong="G2532" they warmed themselves|strong="G2328": and|strong="G1161" Peter|strong="G4074" stood|strong="G2476" with|strong="G3326" them|strong="G0846", and|strong="G2532" warmed himself|strong="G2328".
18 Ora, estavam ali os servos e os guardas, que tinham acendido um braseiro e se aquentavam, porque fazia frio; e também Pedro estava ali em pé no meio deles, aquentando-se.
19 The high priest|strong="G0749" then|strong="G3767" asked|strong="G2065" Jesus|strong="G2424" of|strong="G4012" his|strong="G0846" disciples|strong="G3101", and|strong="G2532" of|strong="G4012" his|strong="G0846" doctrine|strong="G1322".
19 Então o sumo sacerdote interrogou Jesus acerca dos seus discípulos e da sua doutrina.
20 Jesus|strong="G2424" answered|strong="G0611" him|strong="G0846", \+w I|strong="G1473"\+w* \+w spake|strong="G2980"\+w* \+w openly|strong="G3954"\+w* \+w to the world|strong="G2889"\+w*; \+w I|strong="G1473"\+w* \+w ever|strong="G3842"\+w* \+w taught|strong="G1321"\+w* \+w in|strong="G1722"\+w* \+w the synagogue|strong="G4864"\+w*, \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w in|strong="G1722"\+w* \+w the temple|strong="G2411"\+w*, \+w whither|strong="G3699"\+w* \+w the Jews|strong="G2453"\+w* \+w always|strong="G3842"\+w* \+w resort|strong="G4905"\+w*; \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w in|strong="G1722"\+w* \+w secret|strong="G2927"\+w* \+w have I said|strong="G2980"\+w* \+w nothing|strong="G3762"\+w*.
20 Respondeu-lhe Jesus: Eu tenho falado abertamente ao mundo; eu sempre ensinei nas sinagogas e no templo, onde todos os judeus se congregam, e nada falei em oculto.
21 \+w Why|strong="G5101"\+w* \+w askest thou|strong="G1905"\+w* \+w me|strong="G3165"\+w*? \+w ask|strong="G1905"\+w* \+w them which|strong="G3588"\+w* \+w heard me|strong="G0191"\+w*, \+w what|strong="G5101"\+w* \+w I have said|strong="G2980"\+w* \+w unto them|strong="G0846"\+w*: \+w behold|strong="G1492"\+w*, \+w they|strong="G3778"\+w* \+w know|strong="G1492"\+w* \+w what|strong="G3739"\+w* \+w I|strong="G1473"\+w* \+w said|strong="G2036"\+w*.
21 Por que me perguntas a mim? pergunta aos que me ouviram o que é que lhes falei; eis que eles sabem o que eu disse.
22 And when|strong="G1161" he|strong="G0846" had|strong="G2036" thus|strong="G5023" spoken|strong="G2036", one|strong="G1520" of the officers|strong="G5257" which stood by|strong="G3936" struck|strong="G1325" Jesus|strong="G2424" with the palm of his hand|strong="G4475", saying|strong="G2036", Answerest thou|strong="G0611" the high priest|strong="G0749" so|strong="G3779"?
22 E, havendo ele dito isso, um dos guardas que ali estavam deu uma bofetada em Jesus, dizendo: É assim que respondes ao sumo sacerdote?
23 Jesus|strong="G2424" answered|strong="G0611" him|strong="G0846", \+w If|strong="G1487"\+w* \+w I have spoken|strong="G2980"\+w* \+w evil|strong="G2560"\+w*, \+w bear witness|strong="G3140"\+w* \+w of|strong="G4012"\+w* \+w the evil|strong="G2556"\+w*: \+w but|strong="G1161"\+w* \+w if|strong="G1487"\+w* \+w well|strong="G2573"\+w*, \+w why|strong="G5101"\+w* \+w smitest thou|strong="G1194"\+w* \+w me|strong="G3165"\+w*?
23 Respondeu-lhe Jesus: Se falei mal, dá testemunho do mal; mas, se bem, por que me feres?
24 Now Annas|strong="G0452" had sent|strong="G0649" him|strong="G0846" bound|strong="G1210" unto|strong="G4314" Caiaphas|strong="G2533" the high priest|strong="G0749".
24 Então Anás o enviou, maniatado, a Caifás, o sumo sacerdote.
25 And|strong="G1161" Simon|strong="G4613" Peter|strong="G4074" stood|strong="G2476" and|strong="G2532" warmed himself|strong="G2328". They said|strong="G2036" therefore|strong="G3767" unto him|strong="G0846", Art|strong="G1488" not|strong="G3361" thou|strong="G4771" also|strong="G2532" one of|strong="G1537" his|strong="G0846" disciples|strong="G3101"? He|strong="G1565" denied|strong="G0720" it, and|strong="G2532" said|strong="G2036", I am|strong="G1510" not|strong="G3756".
25 E Simão Pedro ainda estava ali, aquentando-se. Perguntaram-lhe, pois: Não és também tu um dos seus discípulos? Ele negou, e disse: Não sou.
26 One|strong="G1520" of|strong="G1537" the servants|strong="G1401" of the high priest|strong="G0749", being|strong="G5607" his kinsman|strong="G4773" whose|strong="G3739" ear|strong="G5621" Peter|strong="G4074" cut off|strong="G0609", saith|strong="G3004", Did|strong="G1492" not|strong="G3756" I|strong="G1473" see|strong="G1492" thee|strong="G4571" in|strong="G1722" the garden|strong="G2779" with|strong="G3326" him|strong="G0846"?
26 Um dos servos do sumo sacerdote, parente daquele a quem Pedro cortara a orelha, disse: Não te vi eu no jardim com ele?
27 Peter|strong="G4074" then|strong="G3767" denied|strong="G0720" again|strong="G3825": and|strong="G2532" immediately|strong="G2112" the cock|strong="G0220" crew|strong="G5455".
27 Pedro negou outra vez, e imediatamente o galo cantou.
28 Then|strong="G3767" led they|strong="G0071" Jesus|strong="G2424" from|strong="G0575" Caiaphas|strong="G2533" unto|strong="G1519" the hall of judgment|strong="G4232": and|strong="G1161" it was|strong="G2258" early|strong="G4405"; and|strong="G2532" they|strong="G1525" themselves|strong="G0846" went|strong="G1525" not|strong="G3756" into|strong="G1519" the judgment hall|strong="G4232", lest|strong="G2443" they should be defiled|strong="G3392"; but|strong="G0235" that|strong="G2443" they might eat|strong="G5315" the passover|strong="G3957".
28 Depois conduziram Jesus da presença de Caifás para o pretório; era de manhã cedo; e eles não entraram no pretório, para não se contaminarem, mas poderem comer a páscoa.
29 Pilate|strong="G4091" then|strong="G3767" went out|strong="G1831" unto|strong="G4314" them|strong="G0846", and|strong="G2532" said|strong="G2036", What|strong="G5101" accusation|strong="G2724" bring ye|strong="G5342" against|strong="G2596" this|strong="G5127" man|strong="G0444"?
29 Então Pilatos saiu a ter com eles, e perguntou: Que acusação trazeis contra este homem?
30 They answered|strong="G0611" and|strong="G2532" said|strong="G2036" unto him|strong="G0846", If|strong="G1487" he|strong="G3778" were|strong="G2258" not|strong="G3361" a malefactor|strong="G2555", we would|strong="G3860" not|strong="G3756" have delivered|strong="G3860" him|strong="G0846" up unto thee|strong="G4671".
30 Responderam-lhe: Se ele não fosse malfeitor, não to entregaríamos.
31 Then|strong="G3767" said|strong="G2036" Pilate|strong="G4091" unto them|strong="G0846", Take|strong="G2983" ye|strong="G5210" him|strong="G0846", and|strong="G2532" judge|strong="G2919" him|strong="G0846" according to|strong="G2596" your|strong="G5216" law|strong="G3551". The Jews|strong="G2453" therefore|strong="G3767" said unto|strong="G2036" him|strong="G0846", It is|strong="G1832" not|strong="G3756" lawful for us|strong="G2254" to put|strong="G0615" any man|strong="G3762" to death|strong="G0615":
31 Disse-lhes, então, Pilatos: Tomai-o vós, e julgai-o segundo a vossa lei. Disseram-lhe os judeus: A nós não nos é lícito tirar a vida a ninguém.
32 That|strong="G2443" the saying|strong="G3056" of Jesus|strong="G2424" might be fulfilled|strong="G4137", which|strong="G3739" he spake|strong="G2036", signifying|strong="G4591" what|strong="G4169" death|strong="G2288" he should|strong="G3195" die|strong="G0599".
32 Isso foi para que se cumprisse a palavra que dissera Jesus, significando de que morte havia de morrer.
33 Then|strong="G3767" Pilate|strong="G4091" entered|strong="G1525" into|strong="G1519" the judgment hall|strong="G4232" again|strong="G3825", and|strong="G2532" called|strong="G5455" Jesus|strong="G2424", and|strong="G2532" said|strong="G2036" unto him|strong="G0846", Art|strong="G1488" thou|strong="G4771" the King|strong="G0935" of the Jews|strong="G2453"?
33 Pilatos, pois, tornou a entrar no pretório, chamou a Jesus e perguntou-lhe: És tu o rei dos judeus?
34 Jesus|strong="G2424" answered|strong="G0611" him|strong="G0846", \+w Sayest|strong="G3004"\+w* \+w thou|strong="G4771"\+w* \+w this thing|strong="G5124"\+w* \+w of|strong="G0575"\+w* \+w thyself|strong="G1438"\+w*, \+w or|strong="G2228"\+w* \+w did others|strong="G0243"\+w* \+w tell it|strong="G2036"\+w* \+w thee|strong="G4671"\+w* \+w of|strong="G4012"\+w* \+w me|strong="G1700"\+w*?
34 Respondeu Jesus: Dizes isso de ti mesmo, ou foram outros que to disseram de mim?
35 Pilate|strong="G4091" answered|strong="G0611", Am|strong="G1510" I|strong="G1473" a Jew|strong="G2453"? Thine own|strong="G4674" nation|strong="G1484" and|strong="G2532" the chief priests|strong="G0749" have delivered|strong="G3860" thee|strong="G4571" unto me|strong="G1698": what|strong="G5101" hast thou done|strong="G4160"?
35 Replicou Pilatos: Porventura sou eu judeu? O teu povo e os principais sacerdotes entregaram-te a mim; que fizeste?

36 Respondeu Jesus: O meu reino não é deste mundo; se o meu reino fosse deste mundo, pelejariam os meus servos, para que eu não fosse entregue aos judeus; entretanto o meu reino não é daqui.
37 Pilate|strong="G4091" therefore|strong="G3767" said|strong="G2036" unto him|strong="G0846", Art|strong="G1488" thou|strong="G4771" a king|strong="G0935" then|strong="G3766"? 37 Perguntou-lhe, pois, Pilatos: Logo tu és rei? Respondeu Jesus: Tu dizes que eu sou rei. Eu para isso nasci, e para isso vim ao mundo, a fim de dar testemunho da verdade. Todo aquele que é da verdade ouve a minha voz.
38 Pilate|strong="G4091" saith|strong="G3004" unto him|strong="G0846", What|strong="G5101" is|strong="G2076" truth|strong="G0225"? And|strong="G2532" when he had said|strong="G2036" this|strong="G5124", he went out|strong="G1831" again|strong="G3825" unto|strong="G4314" the Jews|strong="G2453", and|strong="G2532" saith|strong="G3004" unto them|strong="G0846", I|strong="G1473" find|strong="G2147" in|strong="G1722" him|strong="G0846" no|strong="G3762" fault|strong="G0156" at all.
38 Perguntou-lhe Pilatos: Que é a verdade? E dito isto, de novo saiu a ter com os judeus, e disse-lhes: Não acho nele crime algum.
39 But|strong="G1161" ye have|strong="G2076" a custom|strong="G4914", that|strong="G2443" I should release|strong="G0630" unto|strong="G5213" you|strong="G5213" one|strong="G1520" at|strong="G1722" the passover|strong="G3957": will ye|strong="G1014" therefore|strong="G3767" that I release|strong="G0630" unto you|strong="G5213" the King|strong="G0935" of the Jews|strong="G2453"?
