3 And|strong="G2532" said|strong="G3004", Hail|strong="G5463", King|strong="G0935" of the Jews|strong="G2453"! and|strong="G2532" they smote|strong="G1325" him|strong="G0846" with their hands|strong="G4475".

7 The Jews|strong="G2453" answered|strong="G0611" him|strong="G0846", We|strong="G2249" have|strong="G2192" a law|strong="G3551", and|strong="G2532" by|strong="G2596" our|strong="G2257" law|strong="G3551" he ought|strong="G3784" to die|strong="G0599", because|strong="G3754" he made|strong="G4160" himself|strong="G1438" the Son|strong="G5207" of God|strong="G2316".
8 When|strong="G3753" Pilate|strong="G4091" therefore|strong="G3767" heard|strong="G0191" that|strong="G5126" saying|strong="G3056", he was|strong="G5399" the more|strong="G3123" afraid|strong="G5399";
9 And|strong="G2532" went|strong="G1525" again|strong="G3825" into|strong="G1519" the judgment hall|strong="G4232", and|strong="G2532" saith|strong="G3004" unto Jesus|strong="G2424", Whence|strong="G4159" art|strong="G1488" thou|strong="G4771"? But|strong="G1161" Jesus|strong="G2424" gave|strong="G1325" him|strong="G0846" no|strong="G3756" answer|strong="G0612".
10 Then|strong="G3767" saith|strong="G3004" Pilate|strong="G4091" unto him|strong="G0846", Speakest thou|strong="G2980" not|strong="G3756" unto me|strong="G1698"? knowest thou|strong="G1492" not|strong="G3756" that|strong="G3754" I have|strong="G2192" power|strong="G1849" to crucify|strong="G4717" thee|strong="G4571", and|strong="G2532" have|strong="G2192" power|strong="G1849" to release|strong="G0630" thee|strong="G4571"?
11 Jesus|strong="G2424" answered|strong="G0611", \+w Thou couldest have|strong="G2192"\+w* \+w no|strong="G3762"\+w* \+w power|strong="G1849"\+w* \+add at all\+add* \+w against|strong="G2596"\+w* \+w me|strong="G1700"\+w*, \+w except|strong="G1487"\+w* \+w it were|strong="G2258"\+w* \+w given|strong="G1325"\+w* \+w thee|strong="G4671"\+w* \+w from above|strong="G0509"\+w*: \+w therefore|strong="G1223"\+w* \+w he that|strong="G5124"\+w* \+w delivered|strong="G3860"\+w* \+w me|strong="G3165"\+w* \+w unto thee|strong="G4671"\+w* \+w hath|strong="G2192"\+w* \+w the greater|strong="G3173"\+w* \+w sin|strong="G0266"\+w*.
12 And from|strong="G1537" thenceforth|strong="G5127" Pilate|strong="G4091" sought to|strong="G2212" release|strong="G0630" him|strong="G0846": but|strong="G1161" the Jews|strong="G2453" cried out|strong="G2896", saying|strong="G3004", If|strong="G1437" thou let|strong="G0630" this man|strong="G5126" go|strong="G0630", thou art|strong="G1488" not|strong="G3756" Cæsar’s|strong="G2541" friend|strong="G5384": whosoever|strong="G3956" maketh|strong="G4160" himself|strong="G0846" a king|strong="G0935" speaketh against|strong="G0483" Cæsar|strong="G2541".
13 When Pilate|strong="G4091" therefore|strong="G3767" heard|strong="G0191" that|strong="G5126" saying|strong="G3056", he brought|strong="G0071" Jesus|strong="G2424" forth|strong="G1854", and|strong="G2532" sat down|strong="G2523" in|strong="G1909" the judgment seat|strong="G0968" in|strong="G1519" a place|strong="G5117" that is called|strong="G3004" the Pavement|strong="G3038", but|strong="G1161" in the Hebrew|strong="G1447", Gabbatha|strong="G1042".
14 And|strong="G1161" it was|strong="G2258" the preparation|strong="G3904" of the passover|strong="G3957", and|strong="G1161" about|strong="G5616" the sixth|strong="G1623" hour|strong="G5610": and|strong="G2532" he saith|strong="G3004" unto the Jews|strong="G2453", Behold|strong="G1492" your|strong="G5216" King|strong="G0935"!

21 Then|strong="G3767" said|strong="G3004" the chief priests|strong="G0749" of the Jews|strong="G2453" to Pilate|strong="G4091", Write|strong="G1125" not|strong="G3361", The King|strong="G0935" of the Jews|strong="G2453"; but|strong="G0235" that|strong="G3754" he|strong="G1565" said|strong="G2036", I am|strong="G1510" King|strong="G0935" of the Jews|strong="G2453".

23 Then|strong="G3767" the soldiers|strong="G4757", when|strong="G3753" they had crucified|strong="G4717" Jesus|strong="G2424", took|strong="G2983" his|strong="G0846" garments|strong="G2440", and|strong="G2532" made|strong="G4160" four|strong="G5064" parts|strong="G3313", to every|strong="G1538" soldier|strong="G4757" a part|strong="G3313"; and also|strong="G2532" his coat|strong="G5509": now|strong="G1161" the coat|strong="G5509" was|strong="G2258" without seam|strong="G0729", woven|strong="G5307" from|strong="G1537" the top|strong="G0509" throughout|strong="G3650".
24 They said|strong="G2036" therefore|strong="G3767" among|strong="G4314" themselves|strong="G0240", Let us|strong="G4977" not|strong="G3361" rend|strong="G4977" it|strong="G0846", but|strong="G0235" cast lots|strong="G2975" for|strong="G4012" it|strong="G0846", whose|strong="G5101" it shall be|strong="G2071": that|strong="G2443" the scripture|strong="G1124" might be fulfilled|strong="G4137", which saith|strong="G3004", They parted|strong="G1266" my|strong="G3450" raiment|strong="G2440" among them|strong="G1438", and|strong="G2532" for|strong="G1909" my|strong="G3450" vesture|strong="G2441" they did cast|strong="G0906" lots|strong="G2819". 25 Now|strong="G1161" there stood|strong="G2476" by|strong="G3844" the cross|strong="G4716" of Jesus|strong="G2424" his|strong="G0846" mother|strong="G3384", and|strong="G2532" his|strong="G0846" mother’s|strong="G3384" sister|strong="G0079", Mary|strong="G3137" the wife of Cleophas|strong="G2832", and|strong="G2532" Mary|strong="G3137" Magdalene|strong="G3094".
26 When Jesus|strong="G2424" therefore|strong="G3767" saw|strong="G1492" his mother|strong="G3384", and|strong="G2532" the disciple|strong="G3101" standing by|strong="G3936", whom|strong="G3739" he loved|strong="G0025", he saith|strong="G3004" unto his|strong="G0846" mother|strong="G3384", \+w Woman|strong="G1135"\+w*, \+w behold|strong="G2400"\+w* \+w thy|strong="G4675"\+w* \+w son|strong="G5207"\+w*!
27 Then|strong="G1534" saith he|strong="G3004" to the disciple|strong="G3101", \+w Behold|strong="G2400"\+w* \+w thy|strong="G4675"\+w* \+w mother|strong="G3384"\+w*! 28 After|strong="G3326" this|strong="G5124", Jesus|strong="G2424" knowing|strong="G1492" that|strong="G3754" all things|strong="G3956" were now|strong="G2235" accomplished|strong="G5055", that|strong="G2443" the scripture|strong="G1124" might be fulfilled|strong="G5048", saith|strong="G3004", \+w I thirst|strong="G1372"\+w*.
29 Now|strong="G3767" there was set|strong="G2749" a vessel|strong="G4632" full|strong="G3324" of vinegar|strong="G3690": and|strong="G1161" they filled|strong="G4130" a spunge|strong="G4699" with vinegar|strong="G3690", and|strong="G2532" put|strong="G4060" it upon hyssop|strong="G5301", and put|strong="G4374" it to his|strong="G0846" mouth|strong="G4750".
30 When|strong="G3753" Jesus|strong="G2424" therefore|strong="G3767" had received|strong="G2983" the vinegar|strong="G3690", he said|strong="G2036", \+w It is finished|strong="G5055"\+w*: and|strong="G2532" he bowed|strong="G2827" his head|strong="G2776", and gave up|strong="G3860" the ghost|strong="G4151".
31 The Jews|strong="G2453" therefore|strong="G3767", because|strong="G1893" it was|strong="G2258" the preparation|strong="G3904", that|strong="G2443" the bodies|strong="G4983" should|strong="G3306" not|strong="G3361" remain|strong="G3306" upon|strong="G1909" the cross|strong="G4716" on|strong="G1722" the sabbath day|strong="G4521", (for|strong="G1063" that|strong="G1565" sabbath day|strong="G4521" was|strong="G2258" an high|strong="G3173" day|strong="G2250",) besought|strong="G2065" Pilate|strong="G4091" that|strong="G2443" their|strong="G0846" legs|strong="G4628" might be broken|strong="G2608", and|strong="G2532" that they might be taken away|strong="G0142".
32 Then|strong="G3767" came|strong="G2064" the soldiers|strong="G4757", and|strong="G2532" brake|strong="G2608" the legs|strong="G4628" of the first|strong="G4413", and|strong="G2532" of the other|strong="G0243" which|strong="G3588" was crucified|strong="G4957" with him|strong="G0846".
33 But|strong="G1161" when|strong="G5613" they came|strong="G2064" to|strong="G1909" Jesus|strong="G2424", and saw that|strong="G1492" he|strong="G0846" was dead|strong="G2348" already|strong="G2235", they brake|strong="G2608" not|strong="G3756" his|strong="G0846" legs|strong="G4628":
34 But|strong="G0235" one|strong="G1520" of the soldiers|strong="G4757" with a spear|strong="G3057" pierced|strong="G3572" his|strong="G0846" side|strong="G4125", and|strong="G2532" forthwith|strong="G2117" came there out|strong="G1831" blood|strong="G0129" and|strong="G2532" water|strong="G5204".
35 And|strong="G2532" he|strong="G3588" that saw|strong="G3708" it bare record|strong="G3140", and|strong="G2532" his|strong="G0846" record|strong="G3141" is|strong="G2076" true|strong="G0228": and he|strong="G2548" knoweth|strong="G1492" that|strong="G3754" he saith|strong="G3004" true|strong="G0227", that|strong="G2443" ye|strong="G5210" might believe|strong="G4100".
36 For|strong="G1063" these things|strong="G5023" were done|strong="G1096", that|strong="G2443" the scripture|strong="G1124" should be fulfilled|strong="G4137", A bone|strong="G3747" of him|strong="G0846" shall|strong="G4937" not|strong="G3756" be broken|strong="G4937".

39 And|strong="G1161" there came|strong="G2064" also|strong="G2532" Nicodemus|strong="G3530", which|strong="G3588" at the first|strong="G4413" came|strong="G2064" to|strong="G4314" Jesus|strong="G2424" by night|strong="G3571", and brought|strong="G5342" a mixture|strong="G3395" of myrrh|strong="G4666" and|strong="G2532" aloes|strong="G0250", about|strong="G5616" an hundred|strong="G1540" pound|strong="G3046" weight.
40 Then|strong="G3767" took they|strong="G2983" the body|strong="G4983" of Jesus|strong="G2424", and|strong="G2532" wound|strong="G1210" it|strong="G0846" in linen clothes|strong="G3608" with|strong="G3326" the spices|strong="G0759", as|strong="G2531" the manner|strong="G1485" of the Jews|strong="G2453" is|strong="G2076" to bury|strong="G1779".
41 Now|strong="G1161" in|strong="G1722" the place|strong="G5117" where|strong="G3699" he was crucified|strong="G4717" there was|strong="G2258" a garden|strong="G2779"; and|strong="G2532" in|strong="G1722" the garden|strong="G2779" a new|strong="G2537" sepulchre|strong="G3419", wherein|strong="G1722" was|strong="G3739" never man|strong="G3762" yet|strong="G3764" laid|strong="G5087".
