Cry|strong="H7121" aloud|strong="H1627", spare|strong="H2820" not, lift|strong="H7311" up thy voice|strong="H6963" like a trumpet|strong="H7782", and shew|strong="H5046" my people|strong="H5971" their transgression|strong="H6588", and the house|strong="H1004" of Jacob|strong="H3290" their sins|strong="H2403".
Yet they seek|strong="H1875" me daily|strong="H3117", and delight|strong="H2654" to know|strong="H1847" my ways|strong="H1870", as a nation|strong="H1471" that did|strong="H6213" righteousness|strong="H6666", and forsook|strong="H5800" not the ordinance|strong="H4941" of their God|strong="H0430": they ask|strong="H7592" of me the ordinances|strong="H4941" of justice|strong="H6664"; they take delight|strong="H2654" in approaching|strong="H7132" to God|strong="H0430".
Wherefore have we fasted|strong="H6684", say they, and thou seest|strong="H7200" not? wherefore have we afflicted|strong="H6031" our soul|strong="H5315", and thou takest no knowledge|strong="H3045"? Behold, in the day|strong="H3117" of your fast|strong="H6685" ye find|strong="H4672" pleasure|strong="H2656", and exact|strong="H5065" all your labours|strong="H6092".
Behold, ye fast|strong="H6684" for strife|strong="H7379" and debate|strong="H4683", and to smite|strong="H5221" with the fist|strong="H0106" of wickedness|strong="H7562": ye shall not fast|strong="H6684" as ye do this day|strong="H3117", to make your voice|strong="H6963" to be heard|strong="H8085" on high|strong="H4791".
Is it such a fast|strong="H6685" that I have chosen|strong="H0977"? a day|strong="H3117" for a man|strong="H0120" to afflict|strong="H6031" his soul|strong="H5315"? is it to bow down|strong="H3721" his head|strong="H7218" as a bulrush|strong="H0100", and to spread|strong="H3331" sackcloth|strong="H8242" and ashes|strong="H0665" under him? wilt thou call|strong="H7121" this|strong="H2088" a fast|strong="H6685", and an acceptable|strong="H7522" day|strong="H3117" to the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*?
Is not this the fast|strong="H6685" that I have chosen|strong="H0977"? to loose|strong="H6605" the bands|strong="H2784" of wickedness|strong="H7562", to undo|strong="H5425" the heavy|strong="H4133" burdens|strong="H0092", and to let the oppressed|strong="H7533" go|strong="H7971" free|strong="H2670", and that ye break|strong="H5423" every yoke|strong="H4133"?
Is it not to deal|strong="H6536" thy bread|strong="H3899" to the hungry|strong="H7457", and that thou bring|strong="H0935" the poor|strong="H6041" that are cast out|strong="H4788" to thy house|strong="H1004"? when thou seest|strong="H7200" the naked|strong="H6174", that thou cover|strong="H3680" him; and that thou hide|strong="H5956" not thyself from thine own flesh|strong="H1320"?
Then shall thy light|strong="H0216" break forth|strong="H1234" as the morning|strong="H7837", and thine health|strong="H0724" shall spring forth|strong="H6779" speedily|strong="H4120": and thy righteousness|strong="H6664" shall go|strong="H1980" before|strong="H6440" thee; the glory|strong="H3519" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* shall be thy rereward|strong="H0622".
Then shalt thou call|strong="H7121", and the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* shall answer|strong="H6030"; thou shalt cry|strong="H7768", and he shall say|strong="H0559", Here I am. If thou take away|strong="H5493" from the midst|strong="H8432" of thee the yoke|strong="H4133", the putting forth|strong="H7971" of the finger|strong="H0676", and speaking|strong="H1696" vanity|strong="H0205";
And if thou draw out|strong="H6329" thy soul|strong="H5315" to the hungry|strong="H7457", and satisfy|strong="H7646" the afflicted|strong="H6031" soul|strong="H5315"; then shall thy light|strong="H0216" rise|strong="H2224" in obscurity|strong="H2822", and thy darkness|strong="H0653" be as the noonday|strong="H6672":
And the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* shall guide|strong="H5148" thee continually|strong="H8548", and satisfy|strong="H7646" thy soul|strong="H5315" in drought|strong="H6710", and make fat|strong="H2502" thy bones|strong="H6106": and thou shalt be like a watered|strong="H7302" garden|strong="H1588", and like a spring|strong="H4161" of water|strong="H4325", whose waters|strong="H4325" fail|strong="H3576" not.
And they that shall be of thee shall build|strong="H1129" the old|strong="H5769" waste places|strong="H2723": thou shalt raise up|strong="H6965" the foundations|strong="H4146" of many|strong="H1755" generations|strong="H1755"; and thou shalt be called|strong="H7121", The repairer|strong="H1443" of the breach|strong="H6556", The restorer|strong="H7725" of paths|strong="H5410" to dwell in|strong="H3427".
If thou turn away|strong="H7725" thy foot|strong="H7272" from the sabbath|strong="H7676", from doing|strong="H6213" thy pleasure|strong="H2656" on my holy|strong="H6944" day|strong="H3117"; and call|strong="H7121" the sabbath|strong="H7676" a delight|strong="H6027", the holy|strong="H6918" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, honourable|strong="H3513"; and shalt honour|strong="H3513" him, not doing|strong="H6213" thine own ways|strong="H1870", nor finding|strong="H4672" thine own pleasure|strong="H2656", nor speaking|strong="H1696" thine own words|strong="H1697":
Then shalt thou delight|strong="H6026" thyself in the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*; and I will cause thee to ride|strong="H7392" upon the high places|strong="H1116" of the earth|strong="H0776", and feed|strong="H0398" thee with the heritage|strong="H5159" of Jacob|strong="H3290" thy father|strong="H0001": for the mouth|strong="H6310" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* hath spoken|strong="H1696" it.
