Isaías 3

King James (Authorized) Version (ENG-KJV2006)

For, behold, the Lord|strong="H0113", the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* of hosts|strong="H6635", doth take away|strong="H5493" from Jerusalem|strong="H3389" and from Judah|strong="H3063" the stay|strong="H4937" and the staff|strong="H4938", the whole stay|strong="H4937" of bread|strong="H3899", and the whole|strong="H3605" stay|strong="H4937" of water|strong="H4325",

The mighty man|strong="H1368", and the man|strong="H0376" of war|strong="H4421", the judge|strong="H8199", and the prophet|strong="H5030", and the prudent|strong="H7080", and the ancient|strong="H2205",

The captain|strong="H8269" of fifty|strong="H2572", and the honourable|strong="H5375" man|strong="H6440", and the counsellor|strong="H3289", and the cunning|strong="H2450" artificer|strong="H2791", and the eloquent|strong="H0995" orator|strong="H3908".

And I will give|strong="H5414" children|strong="H5288" to be their princes|strong="H8269", and babes|strong="H8586" shall rule|strong="H4910" over them.

And the people|strong="H5971" shall be oppressed|strong="H5065", every one|strong="H0376" by another|strong="H0376", and every one|strong="H0376" by his neighbour|strong="H7453": the child|strong="H5288" shall behave himself proudly|strong="H7292" against the ancient|strong="H2205", and the base|strong="H7034" against the honourable|strong="H3513".

When a man|strong="H0376" shall take hold|strong="H8610" of his brother|strong="H0251" of the house|strong="H1004" of his father|strong="H0001", saying, Thou hast clothing|strong="H8071", be thou our ruler|strong="H7101", and let this ruin|strong="H4384" be under thy hand|strong="H3027":

In that day|strong="H3117" shall he swear|strong="H5375", saying|strong="H0559", I will not be an healer|strong="H2280"; for in my house|strong="H1004" is neither bread|strong="H3899" nor clothing|strong="H8071": make|strong="H7760" me not a ruler|strong="H7101" of the people|strong="H5971".

For Jerusalem|strong="H3389" is ruined|strong="H3782", and Judah|strong="H3063" is fallen|strong="H5307": because their tongue|strong="H3956" and their doings|strong="H4611" are against the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, to provoke|strong="H4784" the eyes|strong="H5869" of his glory|strong="H3519".

The shew|strong="H1971" of their countenance|strong="H6440" doth witness against them|strong="H6030"; and they declare|strong="H5046" their sin|strong="H2403" as Sodom|strong="H5467", they hide|strong="H3582" it not. Woe|strong="H0188" unto their soul|strong="H5315"! for they have rewarded|strong="H1580" evil|strong="H7451" unto themselves.

Say|strong="H0559" ye to the righteous|strong="H6662", that it shall be well|strong="H2896" with him: for they shall eat|strong="H0398" the fruit|strong="H6529" of their doings|strong="H4611".

Woe|strong="H0188" unto the wicked|strong="H7563"! it shall be ill|strong="H7451" with him: for the reward|strong="H1576" of his hands|strong="H3027" shall be given|strong="H6213" him.

As for my people|strong="H5971", children|strong="H5953" are their oppressors|strong="H5065", and women|strong="H0802" rule|strong="H4910" over them. O my people|strong="H5971", they which lead|strong="H0833" thee cause thee to err|strong="H8582", and destroy|strong="H1104" the way|strong="H1870" of thy paths|strong="H0734".

The \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* standeth up|strong="H5324" to plead|strong="H7378", and standeth|strong="H5975" to judge|strong="H1777" the people|strong="H5971".

The \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* will enter|strong="H0935" into judgment|strong="H4941" with the ancients|strong="H2205" of his people|strong="H5971", and the princes|strong="H8269" thereof: for ye have eaten up|strong="H1197" the vineyard|strong="H3754"; the spoil|strong="H1500" of the poor|strong="H6041" is in your houses|strong="H1004".

What mean ye that ye beat|strong="H1792" my people|strong="H5971" to pieces|strong="H1792", and grind|strong="H2912" the faces|strong="H6440" of the poor|strong="H6041"? saith|strong="H5002" the Lord|strong="H0136" \+w GOD|strong="H3069"\+w* of hosts|strong="H6635".

Moreover the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* saith|strong="H0559", Because|strong="H3282" the daughters|strong="H1323" of Zion|strong="H6726" are haughty|strong="H1361", and walk|strong="H3212" with stretched forth|strong="H5186" necks|strong="H1627" and wanton|strong="H8265" eyes|strong="H5869", walking|strong="H1980" and mincing|strong="H2952" as they go|strong="H3212", and making a tinkling|strong="H5913" with their feet|strong="H7272":

Therefore the Lord|strong="H0136" will smite with a scab|strong="H5596" the crown of the head|strong="H6936" of the daughters|strong="H1323" of Zion|strong="H6726", and the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* will discover|strong="H6168" their secret parts|strong="H6596".

In that day|strong="H3117" the Lord|strong="H0136" will take away|strong="H5493" the bravery|strong="H8597" of their tinkling ornaments|strong="H5914" about their feet, and their cauls|strong="H7636", and their round tires like the moon|strong="H7720",

The chains|strong="H5188", and the bracelets|strong="H8285", and the mufflers|strong="H7479",

The bonnets|strong="H6287", and the ornaments of the legs|strong="H6807", and the headbands|strong="H7196", and the tablets|strong="H5315", and the earrings|strong="H3908",

The rings|strong="H2885", and nose|strong="H0639" jewels|strong="H5141",

The changeable suits of apparel|strong="H4254", and the mantles|strong="H4595", and the wimples|strong="H4304", and the crisping pins|strong="H2754",

The glasses|strong="H1549", and the fine linen|strong="H5466", and the hoods|strong="H6797", and the vails|strong="H7289".

And it shall come to pass, that instead of sweet smell|strong="H1314" there shall be stink|strong="H4716"; and instead of a girdle|strong="H2290" a rent|strong="H5364"; and instead of well set|strong="H4639" hair|strong="H4748" baldness|strong="H7144"; and instead of a stomacher|strong="H6614" a girding|strong="H4228" of sackcloth|strong="H8242"; and burning|strong="H3587" instead of beauty|strong="H3308".

Thy men|strong="H4962" shall fall|strong="H5307" by the sword|strong="H2719", and thy mighty|strong="H1369" in the war|strong="H4421".

And her gates|strong="H6607" shall lament|strong="H0578" and mourn|strong="H0056"; and she being desolate|strong="H5352" shall sit|strong="H3427" upon the ground|strong="H0776".
