Isaías 23

King James (Authorized) Version (ENG-KJV2006)

The burden|strong="H4853" of Tyre|strong="H6865". Howl|strong="H3213", ye ships|strong="H0591" of Tarshish|strong="H8659"; for it is laid waste|strong="H7703", so that there is no house|strong="H1004", no entering in|strong="H0935": from the land|strong="H0776" of Chittim|strong="H3794" it is revealed|strong="H1540" to them.

Be still|strong="H1826", ye inhabitants|strong="H3427" of the isle|strong="H0339"; thou whom the merchants|strong="H5503" of Zidon|strong="H6721", that pass over|strong="H5674" the sea|strong="H3220", have replenished|strong="H4390".

And by great|strong="H7227" waters|strong="H4325" the seed|strong="H2233" of Sihor|strong="H7883", the harvest|strong="H7105" of the river|strong="H2975", is her revenue|strong="H8393"; and she is a mart|strong="H5505" of nations|strong="H1471".

Be thou ashamed|strong="H0954", O Zidon|strong="H6721": for the sea|strong="H3220" hath spoken|strong="H0559", even the strength|strong="H4581" of the sea|strong="H3220", saying|strong="H0559", I travail|strong="H2342" not, nor bring forth children|strong="H3205", neither do I nourish up|strong="H1431" young men|strong="H0970", nor bring up|strong="H7311" virgins|strong="H1330".

As at the report|strong="H8088" concerning Egypt|strong="H4714", so shall they be sorely pained|strong="H2342" at the report|strong="H8088" of Tyre|strong="H6865".

Pass ye over|strong="H5674" to Tarshish|strong="H8659"; howl|strong="H3213", ye inhabitants|strong="H3427" of the isle|strong="H0339".

Is this your joyous|strong="H5947" city, whose antiquity|strong="H6927" is of ancient|strong="H6924" days|strong="H3117"? her own feet|strong="H7272" shall carry|strong="H2986" her afar off|strong="H7350" to sojourn|strong="H1481".

Who hath taken this counsel|strong="H3289" against Tyre|strong="H6865", the crowning|strong="H5849" city, whose merchants|strong="H5503" are princes|strong="H8269", whose traffickers|strong="H3667" are the honourable|strong="H3513" of the earth|strong="H0776"?

The \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* of hosts|strong="H6635" hath purposed|strong="H3289" it, to stain|strong="H2490" the pride|strong="H1347" of all glory|strong="H6643", and to bring into contempt|strong="H7043" all the honourable|strong="H3513" of the earth|strong="H0776".

Pass|strong="H5674" through thy land|strong="H0776" as a river|strong="H2975", O daughter|strong="H1323" of Tarshish|strong="H8659": there is no more strength|strong="H4206".

He stretched out|strong="H5186" his hand|strong="H3027" over the sea|strong="H3220", he shook|strong="H7264" the kingdoms|strong="H4467": the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* hath given a commandment|strong="H6680" against the merchant|strong="H3667" city, to destroy|strong="H8045" the strong|strong="H4581" holds|strong="H4581" thereof.

And he said|strong="H0559", Thou shalt no more|strong="H3254" rejoice|strong="H5937", O thou oppressed|strong="H6231" virgin|strong="H1330", daughter|strong="H1323" of Zidon|strong="H6721": arise|strong="H6965", pass over|strong="H5674" to Chittim|strong="H3794"; there also shalt thou have no rest|strong="H5117".

Behold the land|strong="H0776" of the Chaldeans|strong="H3778"; this people|strong="H5971" was not, till the Assyrian|strong="H0804" founded|strong="H3245" it for them that dwell in the wilderness|strong="H6728": they set up|strong="H6965" the towers|strong="H0971" thereof, they raised up|strong="H6209" the palaces|strong="H0759" thereof; and he brought|strong="H7760" it to ruin|strong="H4654".

Howl|strong="H3213", ye ships|strong="H0591" of Tarshish|strong="H8659": for your strength|strong="H4581" is laid waste|strong="H7703".

And it shall come to pass in that day|strong="H3117", that Tyre|strong="H6865" shall be forgotten|strong="H7911" seventy|strong="H7657" years|strong="H8141", according to the days|strong="H3117" of one|strong="H0259" king|strong="H4428": after the end|strong="H7093" of seventy|strong="H7657" years|strong="H8141" shall Tyre|strong="H6865" sing|strong="H7892" as an harlot|strong="H2181".

Take|strong="H3947" an harp|strong="H3658", go about|strong="H5437" the city|strong="H5892", thou harlot|strong="H2181" that hast been forgotten|strong="H7911"; make sweet|strong="H3190" melody|strong="H5059", sing many|strong="H7235" songs|strong="H7892", that thou mayest be remembered|strong="H2142".

And it shall come to pass after the end|strong="H7093" of seventy|strong="H7657" years|strong="H8141", that the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* will visit|strong="H6485" Tyre|strong="H6865", and she shall turn|strong="H7725" to her hire|strong="H0868", and shall commit fornication|strong="H2181" with all the kingdoms|strong="H4467" of the world|strong="H0776" upon the face|strong="H6440" of the earth|strong="H0127".

And her merchandise|strong="H5504" and her hire|strong="H0868" shall be holiness|strong="H6944" to the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*: it shall not be treasured|strong="H0686" nor laid up|strong="H2630"; for her merchandise|strong="H5504" shall be for them that dwell|strong="H3427" before|strong="H6440" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, to eat|strong="H0398" sufficiently|strong="H7654", and for durable|strong="H6266" clothing|strong="H4374".
