The burden|strong="H4853" of Damascus|strong="H1834". Behold, Damascus|strong="H1834" is taken away|strong="H5493" from being a city|strong="H5892", and it shall be a ruinous|strong="H4654" heap|strong="H4596".
The cities|strong="H5892" of Aroer|strong="H6177" are forsaken|strong="H5800": they shall be for flocks|strong="H5739", which shall lie down|strong="H7257", and none shall make them afraid|strong="H2729".
The fortress|strong="H4013" also shall cease|strong="H7673" from Ephraim|strong="H0669", and the kingdom|strong="H4467" from Damascus|strong="H1834", and the remnant|strong="H7605" of Syria|strong="H0758": they shall be as the glory|strong="H3519" of the children|strong="H1121" of Israel|strong="H3478", saith|strong="H5002" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* of hosts|strong="H6635".
And in that day|strong="H3117" it shall come to pass, that the glory|strong="H3519" of Jacob|strong="H3290" shall be made thin|strong="H1809", and the fatness|strong="H4924" of his flesh|strong="H1320" shall wax lean|strong="H7329".
And it shall be as when the harvestman|strong="H7105" gathereth|strong="H0622" the corn|strong="H7054", and reapeth|strong="H7114" the ears|strong="H7641" with his arm|strong="H2220"; and it shall be as he that gathereth|strong="H3950" ears|strong="H7641" in the valley|strong="H6010" of Rephaim|strong="H7497".
Yet gleaning grapes|strong="H5955" shall be left|strong="H7604" in it, as the shaking|strong="H5363" of an olive tree|strong="H2132", two|strong="H8147" or three|strong="H7969" berries|strong="H1620" in the top|strong="H7218" of the uppermost bough|strong="H0534", four|strong="H0702" or five|strong="H2568" in the outmost fruitful|strong="H6509" branches|strong="H5585" thereof, saith|strong="H5002" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* God|strong="H0430" of Israel|strong="H3478".
At that day|strong="H3117" shall a man|strong="H0120" look|strong="H8159" to his Maker|strong="H6213", and his eyes|strong="H5869" shall have respect|strong="H7200" to the Holy|strong="H6918" One of Israel|strong="H3478".
And he shall not look|strong="H8159" to the altars|strong="H4196", the work|strong="H4639" of his hands|strong="H3027", neither shall respect|strong="H7200" that which his fingers|strong="H0676" have made|strong="H6213", either the groves|strong="H0842", or the images|strong="H2553".
In that day|strong="H3117" shall his strong|strong="H4581" cities|strong="H5892" be as a forsaken|strong="H5800" bough|strong="H2793", and an uppermost branch|strong="H0534", which they left|strong="H5800" because|strong="H6440" of the children|strong="H1121" of Israel|strong="H3478": and there shall be desolation|strong="H8077".
Because thou hast forgotten|strong="H7911" the God|strong="H0430" of thy salvation|strong="H3468", and hast not been mindful|strong="H2142" of the rock|strong="H6697" of thy strength|strong="H4581", therefore shalt thou plant|strong="H5193" pleasant|strong="H5282" plants|strong="H5194", and shalt set|strong="H2232" it with strange|strong="H2114" slips|strong="H2156":
In the day|strong="H3117" shalt thou make thy plant|strong="H5194" to grow|strong="H7735", and in the morning|strong="H1242" shalt thou make thy seed|strong="H2233" to flourish|strong="H6524": but the harvest|strong="H7105" shall be a heap|strong="H5067" in the day|strong="H3117" of grief|strong="H2470" and of desperate|strong="H0605" sorrow|strong="H3511".
Woe|strong="H1945" to the multitude|strong="H1995" of many|strong="H7227" people|strong="H5971", which make a noise|strong="H1993" like the noise|strong="H1993" of the seas|strong="H3220"; and to the rushing|strong="H7588" of nations|strong="H3816", that make a rushing like the rushing|strong="H7582" of mighty|strong="H3524" waters|strong="H4325"!
The nations|strong="H3816" shall rush|strong="H7582" like the rushing|strong="H7588" of many|strong="H7227" waters|strong="H4325": but God shall rebuke|strong="H1605" them, and they shall flee|strong="H5127" far off|strong="H4801", and shall be chased|strong="H7291" as the chaff|strong="H4671" of the mountains|strong="H2022" before|strong="H6440" the wind|strong="H7307", and like a rolling thing|strong="H1534" before|strong="H6440" the whirlwind|strong="H5492".
And behold at eveningtide|strong="H6256" trouble|strong="H1091"; and before the morning|strong="H1242" he is not. This is the portion|strong="H2506" of them that spoil|strong="H8154" us, and the lot|strong="H1486" of them that rob|strong="H0962" us.
