Woe|strong="H1945" unto them that decree|strong="H2710" unrighteous|strong="H0205" decrees|strong="H2711", and that write|strong="H3789" grievousness|strong="H5999" which they have prescribed|strong="H3789";
To turn aside|strong="H5186" the needy|strong="H1800" from judgment|strong="H1779", and to take away|strong="H1497" the right|strong="H4941" from the poor|strong="H6041" of my people|strong="H5971", that widows|strong="H0490" may be their prey|strong="H7998", and that they may rob|strong="H0962" the fatherless|strong="H3490"!
And what will ye do|strong="H6213" in the day|strong="H3117" of visitation|strong="H6486", and in the desolation|strong="H7722" which shall come|strong="H0935" from far|strong="H4801"? to whom will ye flee|strong="H5127" for help|strong="H5833"? and where will ye leave|strong="H5800" your glory|strong="H3519"?
Without me they shall|strong="H1115" bow down|strong="H3766" under the prisoners|strong="H0616", and they shall fall|strong="H5307" under the slain|strong="H2026". For all this his anger|strong="H0639" is not turned away|strong="H7725", but his hand|strong="H3027" is stretched out still|strong="H5186".
O|strong="H1945" Assyrian|strong="H0804", the rod|strong="H7626" of mine anger|strong="H0639", and the staff|strong="H4294" in their hand|strong="H3027" is mine indignation|strong="H2195".
I will send|strong="H7971" him against an hypocritical|strong="H2611" nation|strong="H1471", and against the people|strong="H5971" of my wrath|strong="H5678" will I give him a charge|strong="H6680", to take|strong="H7997" the spoil|strong="H7998", and to take|strong="H0962" the prey|strong="H0957", and to tread them down|strong="H7760" like the mire|strong="H2563" of the streets|strong="H2351".
Howbeit he meaneth|strong="H1819" not so, neither doth his heart|strong="H3824" think|strong="H2803" so; but it is in his heart|strong="H3824" to destroy|strong="H8045" and cut off|strong="H3772" nations|strong="H1471" not a few|strong="H4592".
For he saith|strong="H0559", Are not my princes|strong="H8269" altogether|strong="H3162" kings|strong="H4428"?
Is not Calno|strong="H3641" as Carchemish|strong="H3751"? is not Hamath|strong="H2574" as Arpad|strong="H0774"? is not Samaria|strong="H8111" as Damascus|strong="H1834"?
As my hand|strong="H3027" hath found|strong="H4672" the kingdoms|strong="H4467" of the idols|strong="H0457", and whose graven images|strong="H6456" did excel them of Jerusalem|strong="H3389" and of Samaria|strong="H8111";
Shall I not, as I have done|strong="H6213" unto Samaria|strong="H8111" and her idols|strong="H0457", so do|strong="H6213" to Jerusalem|strong="H3389" and her idols|strong="H6091"?
Wherefore it shall come to pass, that when the Lord|strong="H0136" hath performed|strong="H1214" his whole work|strong="H4639" upon mount|strong="H2022" Zion|strong="H6726" and on Jerusalem|strong="H3389", I will punish|strong="H6485" the fruit|strong="H6529" of the stout|strong="H1433" heart|strong="H3824" of the king|strong="H4428" of Assyria|strong="H0804", and the glory|strong="H8597" of his high|strong="H7312" looks|strong="H5869".
For he saith|strong="H0559", By the strength|strong="H3581" of my hand|strong="H3027" I have done|strong="H6213" it, and by my wisdom|strong="H2451"; for I am prudent|strong="H0995": and I have removed|strong="H5493" the bounds|strong="H1367" of the people|strong="H5971", and have robbed|strong="H8154" their treasures|strong="H6259", and I have put down|strong="H3381" the inhabitants|strong="H3427" like a valiant|strong="H0047" man:
And my hand|strong="H3027" hath found|strong="H4672" as a nest|strong="H7064" the riches|strong="H2428" of the people|strong="H5971": and as one gathereth|strong="H0622" eggs|strong="H1000" that are left|strong="H5800", have I gathered|strong="H0622" all the earth|strong="H0776"; and there was none that moved|strong="H5074" the wing|strong="H3671", or opened|strong="H6475" the mouth|strong="H6310", or peeped|strong="H6850".
Shall the axe|strong="H1631" boast|strong="H6286" itself against him that heweth|strong="H2672" therewith? or shall the saw|strong="H4883" magnify|strong="H1431" itself against him that shaketh|strong="H5130" it? as if the rod|strong="H7626" should shake|strong="H5130" itself against them that lift it up|strong="H7311", or as if the staff|strong="H4294" should lift up|strong="H7311" itself, as if it were no wood|strong="H6086".
Therefore shall the Lord|strong="H0113", the Lord|strong="H0136" of hosts|strong="H6635", send|strong="H7971" among his fat ones|strong="H4924" leanness|strong="H7332"; and under his glory|strong="H3519" he shall kindle|strong="H3344" a burning|strong="H3350" like the burning of a fire|strong="H0784".
And the light|strong="H0216" of Israel|strong="H3478" shall be for a fire|strong="H0784", and his Holy One|strong="H6918" for a flame|strong="H3852": and it shall burn|strong="H1197" and devour|strong="H0398" his thorns|strong="H7898" and his briers|strong="H8068" in one|strong="H0259" day|strong="H3117";
And shall consume|strong="H3615" the glory|strong="H3519" of his forest|strong="H3293", and of his fruitful field|strong="H3759", both soul|strong="H5315" and body|strong="H1320": and they shall be as when a standardbearer|strong="H5263" fainteth|strong="H4549".
And the rest|strong="H7605" of the trees|strong="H6086" of his forest|strong="H3293" shall be few|strong="H4557", that a child|strong="H5288" may write|strong="H3789" them.
And it shall come to pass in that day|strong="H3117", that the remnant|strong="H7605" of Israel|strong="H3478", and such as are escaped|strong="H6413" of the house|strong="H1004" of Jacob|strong="H3290", shall no more again|strong="H3254" stay|strong="H8172" upon him that smote|strong="H5221" them; but shall stay|strong="H8172" upon the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, the Holy One|strong="H6918" of Israel|strong="H3478", in truth|strong="H0571".
The remnant|strong="H7605" shall return|strong="H7725", even the remnant|strong="H7605" of Jacob|strong="H3290", unto the mighty|strong="H1368" God|strong="H0410".
For though thy people|strong="H5971" Israel|strong="H3478" be as the sand|strong="H2344" of the sea|strong="H3220", yet a remnant|strong="H7605" of them shall return|strong="H7725": the consumption|strong="H3631" decreed|strong="H2782" shall overflow|strong="H7857" with righteousness|strong="H6666".
For the Lord|strong="H0136" \+w GOD|strong="H3069"\+w* of hosts|strong="H6635" shall make|strong="H6213" a consumption|strong="H3617", even determined|strong="H2782", in the midst|strong="H7130" of all the land|strong="H0776".
Therefore thus saith|strong="H0559" the Lord|strong="H0136" \+w GOD|strong="H3069"\+w* of hosts|strong="H6635", O my people|strong="H5971" that dwellest|strong="H3427" in Zion|strong="H6726", be not afraid|strong="H3372" of the Assyrian|strong="H0804": he shall smite|strong="H5221" thee with a rod|strong="H7626", and shall lift up|strong="H5375" his staff|strong="H4294" against thee, after the manner|strong="H1870" of Egypt|strong="H4714".
For yet a very|strong="H4213" little while|strong="H4592", and the indignation|strong="H2195" shall cease|strong="H3615", and mine anger|strong="H0639" in their destruction|strong="H8399".
And the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* of hosts|strong="H6635" shall stir up|strong="H5782" a scourge|strong="H7752" for him according to the slaughter|strong="H4347" of Midian|strong="H4080" at the rock|strong="H6697" of Oreb|strong="H6159": and as his rod|strong="H4294" was upon the sea|strong="H3220", so shall he lift it up|strong="H5375" after the manner|strong="H1870" of Egypt|strong="H4714".
And it shall come to pass in that day|strong="H3117", that his burden|strong="H5448" shall be taken away|strong="H5493" from off thy shoulder|strong="H7926", and his yoke|strong="H5923" from off thy neck|strong="H6677", and the yoke|strong="H5923" shall be destroyed|strong="H2254" because|strong="H6440" of the anointing|strong="H8081".
He is come|strong="H0935" to Aiath|strong="H5857", he is passed|strong="H5674" to Migron|strong="H4051"; at Michmash|strong="H4363" he hath laid up|strong="H6485" his carriages|strong="H3627":
They are gone over|strong="H5674" the passage|strong="H4569": they have taken up their lodging|strong="H4411" at Geba|strong="H1387"; Ramah|strong="H7414" is afraid|strong="H2729"; Gibeah|strong="H1390" of Saul|strong="H7586" is fled|strong="H5127".
Lift up|strong="H6670" thy voice|strong="H6963", O daughter|strong="H1323" of|strong="H1530" Gallim|strong="H1554": cause it to be heard|strong="H7181" unto Laish|strong="H3919", O poor|strong="H6041" Anathoth|strong="H6068".
Madmenah|strong="H4088" is removed|strong="H5074"; the inhabitants|strong="H3427" of Gebim|strong="H1374" gather themselves to flee|strong="H5756".
As yet shall he remain|strong="H5975" at Nob|strong="H5011" that day|strong="H3117": he shall shake|strong="H5130" his hand|strong="H3027" against the mount|strong="H2022" of the daughter|strong="H1323" of Zion|strong="H6726", the hill|strong="H1389" of Jerusalem|strong="H3389".
Behold, the Lord|strong="H0113", the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* of hosts|strong="H6635", shall lop|strong="H5586" the bough|strong="H6288" with terror|strong="H4637": and the high ones|strong="H7311" of stature|strong="H6967" shall be hewn down|strong="H1438", and the haughty|strong="H1364" shall be humbled|strong="H8213".
And he shall cut down|strong="H5362" the thickets|strong="H5442" of the forest|strong="H3293" with iron|strong="H1270", and Lebanon|strong="H3844" shall fall|strong="H5307" by a mighty one|strong="H0117".
