Nevertheless the dimness|strong="H4155" shall not be such as was in her vexation|strong="H4164", when|strong="H6256" at the first|strong="H7223" he lightly afflicted|strong="H7043" the land|strong="H0776" of Zebulun|strong="H2074" and the land|strong="H0776" of Naphtali|strong="H5321", and afterward|strong="H0314" did more grievously afflict|strong="H3513" her by the way|strong="H1870" of the sea|strong="H3220", beyond|strong="H5676" Jordan|strong="H3383", in Galilee|strong="H1551" of the nations|strong="H1471".
The people|strong="H5971" that walked|strong="H1980" in darkness|strong="H2822" have seen|strong="H7200" a great|strong="H1419" light|strong="H0216": they that dwell|strong="H3427" in the land|strong="H0776" of the shadow of death|strong="H6757", upon them hath the light|strong="H0216" shined|strong="H5050".
Thou hast multiplied|strong="H7235" the nation|strong="H1471", and not increased|strong="H1431" the joy|strong="H8057": they joy|strong="H8055" before|strong="H6440" thee according to the joy|strong="H8057" in harvest|strong="H7105", and as men rejoice|strong="H1523" when they divide|strong="H2505" the spoil|strong="H7998".
For thou hast broken|strong="H2865" the yoke|strong="H5923" of his burden|strong="H5448", and the staff|strong="H4294" of his shoulder|strong="H7926", the rod|strong="H7626" of his oppressor|strong="H5065", as in the day|strong="H3117" of Midian|strong="H4080".
For every battle|strong="H5430" of the warrior|strong="H5431" is with confused noise|strong="H7494", and garments|strong="H8071" rolled|strong="H1556" in blood|strong="H1818"; but this shall be with burning|strong="H8316" and fuel|strong="H3980" of fire|strong="H0784".
For unto us a child|strong="H3206" is born|strong="H3205", unto us a son|strong="H1121" is given|strong="H5414": and the government|strong="H4951" shall be upon his shoulder|strong="H7926": and his name|strong="H8034" shall be called|strong="H7121" Wonderful|strong="H6382", Counsellor|strong="H3289", The mighty|strong="H1368" God|strong="H0410", The everlasting|strong="H5703" Father|strong="H0001", The Prince|strong="H8269" of Peace|strong="H7965".
Of the increase|strong="H4766" of his government|strong="H4951" and peace|strong="H7965" there shall be no end|strong="H7093", upon the throne|strong="H3678" of David|strong="H1732", and upon his kingdom|strong="H4467", to order|strong="H3559" it, and to establish|strong="H5582" it with judgment|strong="H4941" and with justice|strong="H6666" from henceforth even for|strong="H5704" ever|strong="H5769". The zeal|strong="H7068" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* of hosts|strong="H6635" will perform|strong="H6213" this.
The Lord|strong="H0136" sent|strong="H7971" a word|strong="H1697" into Jacob|strong="H3290", and it hath lighted|strong="H5307" upon Israel|strong="H3478".
And all the people|strong="H5971" shall know|strong="H3045", even Ephraim|strong="H0669" and the inhabitant|strong="H3427" of Samaria|strong="H8111", that say|strong="H0559" in the pride|strong="H1346" and stoutness|strong="H1433" of heart|strong="H3824",
The bricks|strong="H3843" are fallen down|strong="H5307", but we will build|strong="H1129" with hewn stones|strong="H1496": the sycomores|strong="H8256" are cut down|strong="H1438", but we will change|strong="H2498" them into cedars|strong="H0730".
Therefore the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* shall set up|strong="H7682" the adversaries|strong="H6862" of Rezin|strong="H7526" against him, and join|strong="H5526" his enemies|strong="H0341" together|strong="H5526";
The Syrians|strong="H0758" before|strong="H6924", and the Philistines|strong="H6430" behind|strong="H0268"; and they shall devour|strong="H0398" Israel|strong="H3478" with open mouth|strong="H6310". For all this his anger|strong="H0639" is not turned away|strong="H7725", but his hand|strong="H3027" is stretched out still|strong="H5186".
For the people|strong="H5971" turneth|strong="H7725" not unto him that smiteth|strong="H5221" them, neither do they seek|strong="H1875" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* of hosts|strong="H6635".
Therefore the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* will cut off|strong="H3772" from Israel|strong="H3478" head|strong="H7218" and tail|strong="H2180", branch|strong="H3712" and rush|strong="H0100", in one|strong="H0259" day|strong="H3117".
The ancient|strong="H2205" and honourable|strong="H6440", he|strong="H1931" is the head|strong="H7218"; and the prophet|strong="H5030" that teacheth|strong="H3384" lies|strong="H8267", he is the tail|strong="H2180".
For the leaders|strong="H0833" of this people|strong="H5971" cause them to err|strong="H8582"; and they that are led|strong="H0833" of them are destroyed|strong="H1104".
Therefore the Lord|strong="H0136" shall have no joy|strong="H8055" in their young men|strong="H0970", neither shall have mercy|strong="H7355" on their fatherless|strong="H3490" and widows|strong="H0490": for every one is an hypocrite|strong="H2611" and an evildoer|strong="H7489", and every mouth|strong="H6310" speaketh|strong="H1696" folly|strong="H5039". For all this his anger|strong="H0639" is not turned away|strong="H7725", but his hand|strong="H3027" is stretched out still|strong="H5186".
For wickedness|strong="H7564" burneth|strong="H1197" as the fire|strong="H0784": it shall devour|strong="H0398" the briers|strong="H8068" and thorns|strong="H7898", and shall kindle|strong="H3341" in the thickets|strong="H5442" of the forest|strong="H3293", and they shall mount up|strong="H0055" like the lifting up|strong="H1348" of smoke|strong="H6227".
Through the wrath|strong="H5678" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* of hosts|strong="H6635" is the land|strong="H0776" darkened|strong="H6272", and the people|strong="H5971" shall be as the fuel|strong="H3980" of the fire|strong="H0784": no man|strong="H0376" shall spare|strong="H2550" his brother|strong="H0251".
And he shall snatch|strong="H1504" on the right hand|strong="H3225", and be hungry|strong="H7457"; and he shall eat|strong="H0398" on the left hand|strong="H8040", and they shall not be satisfied|strong="H7646": they shall eat|strong="H0398" every man|strong="H0376" the flesh|strong="H1320" of his own arm|strong="H2220":
Manasseh|strong="H4519", Ephraim|strong="H0669"; and Ephraim|strong="H0669", Manasseh|strong="H4519": and they together|strong="H3162" shall be against Judah|strong="H3063". For all this his anger|strong="H0639" is not turned away|strong="H7725", but his hand|strong="H3027" is stretched out still|strong="H5186".
