1 Now|strong="G1161" of|strong="G1909" the things which we have spoken|strong="G3004" this is the sum|strong="G2774": We have|strong="G2192" such|strong="G5108" an high priest|strong="G0749", who|strong="G3739" is set|strong="G2523" on|strong="G1722" the right hand|strong="G1188" of the throne|strong="G2362" of the Majesty|strong="G3172" in|strong="G1722" the heavens|strong="G3772";
2 A minister|strong="G3011" of the sanctuary|strong="G0039", and|strong="G2532" of the|strong="G4633" true|strong="G0228" tabernacle|strong="G4633", which|strong="G3739" the Lord|strong="G2962" pitched|strong="G4078", and|strong="G2532" not|strong="G3756" man|strong="G0444".
3 For|strong="G1063" every|strong="G3956" high priest|strong="G0749" is ordained|strong="G2525" to|strong="G1519" offer|strong="G4374" gifts|strong="G1435" and|strong="G2532" sacrifices|strong="G2378": wherefore|strong="G3606" it is of necessity|strong="G0316" that|strong="G3739" this man|strong="G5126" have|strong="G2192" somewhat|strong="G5100" also|strong="G2532" to offer|strong="G4374".
4 For|strong="G1063" if|strong="G1487" he were|strong="G2258" on|strong="G1909" earth|strong="G1093", he should|strong="G2258" not|strong="G3761" be|strong="G2258" a priest|strong="G2409", seeing that there are|strong="G5607" priests|strong="G2409" that offer|strong="G4374" gifts|strong="G1435" according|strong="G2596" to the law|strong="G3551":
5 Who|strong="G3748" serve|strong="G3000" unto the example|strong="G5262" and|strong="G2532" shadow|strong="G4639" of heavenly things|strong="G2032", as|strong="G2531" Moses|strong="G3475" was admonished of God|strong="G5537" when he was about|strong="G3195" to make|strong="G2005" the tabernacle|strong="G4633": for|strong="G1063", See|strong="G3708", saith he|strong="G5346", that thou make|strong="G4160" all things|strong="G3956" according to|strong="G2596" the pattern|strong="G5179" shewed|strong="G1166" to thee|strong="G4671" in|strong="G1722" the mount|strong="G3735".
6 But|strong="G1161" now|strong="G3570" hath he obtained a|strong="G5177" more excellent|strong="G1313" ministry|strong="G3009", by how much|strong="G3745" also|strong="G2532" he is|strong="G2076" the mediator|strong="G3316" of a better|strong="G2909" covenant|strong="G1242", which|strong="G3748" was established|strong="G3549" upon|strong="G1909" better|strong="G2909" promises|strong="G1860".
7 For|strong="G1063" if|strong="G1487" that|strong="G1565" first|strong="G4413" covenant had been|strong="G2258" faultless|strong="G0273", then should no|strong="G3756" place|strong="G5117" have been sought|strong="G2212" for the second|strong="G1208".
8 For|strong="G1063" finding fault|strong="G3201" with them|strong="G0846", he saith|strong="G3004", Behold|strong="G2400", the days|strong="G2250" come|strong="G2064", saith|strong="G3004" the Lord|strong="G2962", when|strong="G2532" I will make|strong="G4931" a|strong="G1242" new|strong="G2537" covenant|strong="G1242" with|strong="G1909" the house|strong="G3624" of Israel|strong="G2474" and|strong="G2532" with|strong="G1909" the house|strong="G3624" of Judah|strong="G2448":
9 Not|strong="G3756" according to|strong="G2596" the covenant|strong="G1242" that|strong="G3739" I made|strong="G4160" with|strong="G3962" their|strong="G0846" fathers|strong="G3962" in|strong="G1722" the day|strong="G2250" when|strong="G1949" I|strong="G3450" took|strong="G1949" them|strong="G0846" by the hand|strong="G5495" to lead|strong="G1806" them|strong="G0846" out|strong="G1806" of|strong="G1537" the land|strong="G1093" of Egypt|strong="G0125"; because|strong="G3754" they|strong="G0846" continued|strong="G1696" not|strong="G3756" in|strong="G1722" my|strong="G3450" covenant|strong="G1242", and I|strong="G2504" regarded|strong="G0272" them|strong="G0846" not|strong="G0272", saith|strong="G3004" the Lord|strong="G2962".
10 For|strong="G3754" this|strong="G3778" is the covenant|strong="G1242" that|strong="G3739" I will make|strong="G1303" with the house|strong="G3624" of Israel|strong="G2474" after|strong="G3326" those|strong="G1565" days|strong="G2250", saith|strong="G3004" the Lord|strong="G2962"; I will|strong="G1924" put|strong="G1325" my|strong="G3450" laws|strong="G3551" into|strong="G1519" their|strong="G0846" mind|strong="G1271", and|strong="G2532" write|strong="G1924" them|strong="G0846" in|strong="G1909" their|strong="G0846" hearts|strong="G2588": and|strong="G2532" I will be|strong="G2071" to them|strong="G0846" a God|strong="G2316", and|strong="G2532" they|strong="G0846" shall be|strong="G2071" to me|strong="G3427" a people|strong="G2992":
11 And|strong="G2532" they shall|strong="G1321" not|strong="G3756" teach|strong="G1321" every man|strong="G1538" his|strong="G0846" neighbour|strong="G4139", and|strong="G2532" every man|strong="G1538" his|strong="G0846" brother|strong="G0080", saying|strong="G3004", Know|strong="G1097" the Lord|strong="G2962": for|strong="G3754" all|strong="G3956" shall know|strong="G1492" me|strong="G3165", from|strong="G0575" the least|strong="G3398" to|strong="G2193" the greatest|strong="G3173".
12 For|strong="G3754" I will be|strong="G2071" merciful|strong="G2436" to|strong="G0093" their|strong="G0846" unrighteousness|strong="G0093", and|strong="G2532" their|strong="G0846" sins|strong="G0266" and|strong="G2532" their|strong="G0846" iniquities|strong="G0458" will I remember|strong="G3415" no|strong="G3756" more|strong="G2089".
13 In|strong="G1722" that he saith|strong="G3004", A new|strong="G2537" covenant, he hath made|strong="G3822" the first|strong="G4413" old|strong="G3822". Now|strong="G1161" that which decayeth|strong="G3822" and|strong="G2532" waxeth old|strong="G1095" is ready|strong="G1451" to vanish away|strong="G0854".
