2 Looking|strong="G0872" unto|strong="G1519" Jesus|strong="G2424" the author|strong="G0747" and|strong="G2532" finisher|strong="G5051" of|strong="G4102" our faith|strong="G4102"; who|strong="G3739" for|strong="G0473" the joy|strong="G5479" that was set before|strong="G4295" him|strong="G0846" endured|strong="G5278" the cross|strong="G4716", despising|strong="G2706" the shame|strong="G0152", and|strong="G5037" is set down|strong="G2523" at|strong="G1722" the right hand|strong="G1188" of the throne|strong="G2362" of God|strong="G2316".
3 For|strong="G1063" consider|strong="G0357" him that endured|strong="G5278" such|strong="G5108" contradiction|strong="G0485" of|strong="G5259" sinners|strong="G0268" against|strong="G1519" himself|strong="G0846", lest|strong="G3361" ye be wearied|strong="G2577" and faint|strong="G1590" in|strong="G5590" your|strong="G5216" minds|strong="G5590".
4 Ye have|strong="G0478" not yet|strong="G3768" resisted|strong="G0478" unto|strong="G3360" blood|strong="G0129", striving|strong="G0464" against|strong="G4314" sin|strong="G0266".
5 And|strong="G2532" ye have forgotten|strong="G1585" the exhortation|strong="G3874" which|strong="G3748" speaketh|strong="G1256" unto you|strong="G5213" as|strong="G5613" unto children|strong="G5207", My|strong="G3450" son|strong="G5207", despise|strong="G3643" not|strong="G3361" thou|strong="G3643" the chastening|strong="G3809" of the Lord|strong="G2962", nor|strong="G3366" faint|strong="G1590" when thou art rebuked|strong="G1651" of|strong="G5259" him|strong="G0846":
6 For|strong="G1063" whom|strong="G3739" the Lord|strong="G2962" loveth|strong="G0025" he chasteneth|strong="G3811", and|strong="G1161" scourgeth|strong="G3146" every|strong="G3956" son|strong="G5207" whom|strong="G3739" he receiveth|strong="G3858".
7 If|strong="G1487" ye endure|strong="G5278" chastening|strong="G3809", God|strong="G2316" dealeth|strong="G4374" with you|strong="G5213" as|strong="G5613" with sons|strong="G5207"; for|strong="G1063" what|strong="G5101" son|strong="G5207" is he|strong="G2076" whom|strong="G3739" the father|strong="G3962" chasteneth|strong="G3811" not|strong="G3756"?
8 But|strong="G1161" if|strong="G1487" ye be|strong="G2075" without|strong="G5565" chastisement|strong="G3809", whereof|strong="G3739" all|strong="G3956" are|strong="G1096" partakers|strong="G3353", then|strong="G0686" are ye|strong="G2075" bastards|strong="G3541", and|strong="G2532" not|strong="G3756" sons|strong="G5207".
9 Furthermore|strong="G1534" we have had|strong="G2192" fathers|strong="G3962" of|strong="G4561" our|strong="G2257" flesh|strong="G4561" which corrected|strong="G3810" us, and|strong="G2532" we gave|strong="G1788" them reverence|strong="G1788": shall we|strong="G5293" not|strong="G3756" much|strong="G4183" rather|strong="G3123" be in subjection unto|strong="G5293" the Father|strong="G3962" of spirits|strong="G4151", and|strong="G2532" live|strong="G2198"?
10 For|strong="G1063" they|strong="G3811" verily|strong="G3303" for|strong="G4314" a few|strong="G3641" days|strong="G2250" chastened|strong="G3811" us after|strong="G2596" their own|strong="G0846" pleasure|strong="G1380"; but|strong="G1161" he|strong="G3588" for|strong="G1909" our profit|strong="G4851", that|strong="G1519" we might be partakers|strong="G3335" of|strong="G0041" his|strong="G0846" holiness|strong="G0041".
11 Now|strong="G1161" no|strong="G3756" chastening|strong="G3809" for|strong="G4314" the present|strong="G3918" seemeth|strong="G1380" to be|strong="G1511" joyous|strong="G5479", but|strong="G0235" grievous|strong="G3077": nevertheless|strong="G1161" afterward|strong="G5305" it yieldeth|strong="G0591" the|strong="G2590" peaceable|strong="G1516" fruit|strong="G2590" of righteousness|strong="G1343" unto them which are exercised|strong="G1128" there|strong="G0846"by|strong="G1223".
12 Wherefore|strong="G1352" lift up|strong="G0461" the hands|strong="G5495" which hang down|strong="G3935", and|strong="G2532" the|strong="G1119" feeble|strong="G3886" knees|strong="G1119";
13 And|strong="G2532" make|strong="G4160" straight|strong="G3717" paths|strong="G5163" for|strong="G4228" your|strong="G5216" feet|strong="G4228", lest|strong="G3361" that which is lame|strong="G5560" be turned out of the way|strong="G1624"; but|strong="G1161" let it|strong="G2390" rather|strong="G3123" be healed|strong="G2390".
14 Follow|strong="G1377" peace|strong="G1515" with|strong="G3326" all|strong="G3956" men, and|strong="G2532" holiness|strong="G0038", without|strong="G5565" which|strong="G3739" no man|strong="G3762" shall see|strong="G3700" the Lord|strong="G2962":
15 Looking diligently|strong="G1983" lest|strong="G3361" any man|strong="G5100" fail|strong="G5302" of|strong="G0575" the grace|strong="G5485" of God|strong="G2316"; lest|strong="G3361" any|strong="G5100" root|strong="G4491" of bitterness|strong="G4088" springing|strong="G5453" up|strong="G0507" trouble|strong="G1776" you, and|strong="G2532" there|strong="G3778"by|strong="G1223" many|strong="G4183" be defiled|strong="G3392";
16 Lest there|strong="G3361" be any|strong="G5100" fornicator|strong="G4205", or|strong="G2228" profane person|strong="G0952", as|strong="G5613" Esau|strong="G2269", who|strong="G3739" for|strong="G0473" one|strong="G1520" morsel of meat|strong="G1035" sold|strong="G0591" his|strong="G0846" birthright|strong="G4415".
17 For|strong="G1063" ye know|strong="G2467" how that|strong="G3754" afterward|strong="G3347", when he would have|strong="G2309" inherited|strong="G2816" the blessing|strong="G2129", he was rejected|strong="G0593": for|strong="G1063" he found|strong="G2147" no|strong="G3756" place|strong="G5117" of repentance|strong="G3341", though|strong="G2539" he sought|strong="G1567" it|strong="G0846" carefully|strong="G1567" with|strong="G3326" tears|strong="G1144".
18 For|strong="G1063" ye are|strong="G4334" not|strong="G3756" come unto|strong="G4334" the mount|strong="G3735" that might be touched|strong="G5584", and|strong="G2532" that burned|strong="G2545" with fire|strong="G4442", nor|strong="G2532" unto blackness|strong="G1105", and|strong="G2532" darkness|strong="G4655", and|strong="G2532" tempest|strong="G2366",
19 And|strong="G2532" the sound|strong="G2279" of a trumpet|strong="G4536", and|strong="G2532" the voice|strong="G5456" of words|strong="G4487"; which|strong="G3739" voice they that heard|strong="G0191" intreated|strong="G3868" that|strong="G3361" the word|strong="G3056" should|strong="G4369" not|strong="G3361" be spoken|strong="G4369" to them|strong="G0846" any more:
20 (For|strong="G1063" they could|strong="G5342" not|strong="G3756" endure|strong="G5342" that which was commanded|strong="G1291", And if so much as|strong="G2579" a beast|strong="G2342" touch|strong="G2345" the mountain|strong="G3735", it shall be stoned|strong="G3036", or|strong="G2228" thrust through|strong="G2700" with a dart|strong="G1002":
21 And|strong="G2532" so|strong="G3779" terrible|strong="G5398" was|strong="G2258" the sight|strong="G5324", that Moses|strong="G3475" said|strong="G2036", I|strong="G1510" exceedingly fear|strong="G1630" and|strong="G2532" quake|strong="G1790":)
22 But|strong="G0235" ye are come|strong="G4334" unto mount|strong="G3735" Sion|strong="G4622", and|strong="G2532" unto the city|strong="G4172" of the|strong="G2316" living|strong="G2198" God|strong="G2316", the|strong="G2419" heavenly|strong="G2032" Jerusalem|strong="G2419", and|strong="G2532" to an innumerable company|strong="G3461" of angels|strong="G0032",
23 To the general assembly|strong="G3831" and|strong="G2532" church|strong="G1577" of the firstborn|strong="G4416", which are written|strong="G0583" in|strong="G1722" heaven|strong="G3772", and|strong="G2532" to God|strong="G2316" the Judge|strong="G2923" of all|strong="G3956", and|strong="G2532" to the spirits|strong="G4151" of just men|strong="G1342" made perfect|strong="G5048",
24 And|strong="G2532" to Jesus|strong="G2424" the mediator|strong="G3316" of the|strong="G1242" new|strong="G3501" covenant|strong="G1242", and|strong="G2532" to the blood|strong="G0129" of sprinkling|strong="G4473", that speaketh|strong="G2980" better things|strong="G2909" than|strong="G3844" that of Abel|strong="G0006".
25 See|strong="G0991" that|strong="G3361" ye|strong="G0991" refuse|strong="G3868" not|strong="G3361" him that speaketh|strong="G2980". For|strong="G1063" if|strong="G1487" they|strong="G1565" escaped|strong="G5343" not|strong="G3756" who refused|strong="G3868" him that spake|strong="G5537" on|strong="G1909" earth|strong="G1093", much|strong="G4183" more|strong="G3123" shall not we|strong="G2249" escape, if we turn away from|strong="G0654" him that|strong="G3588" speaketh from|strong="G0575" heaven|strong="G3772":
26 Whose|strong="G3739" voice|strong="G5456" then|strong="G5119" shook|strong="G4531" the earth|strong="G1093": but|strong="G1161" now|strong="G3568" he hath promised|strong="G1861", saying|strong="G3004", Yet|strong="G2089" once|strong="G0530" more|strong="G2089" I|strong="G1473" shake|strong="G4579" not|strong="G3756" the earth|strong="G1093" only|strong="G3440", but|strong="G0235" also|strong="G2532" heaven|strong="G3772".
27 And|strong="G1161" this|strong="G3588" word, Yet|strong="G2089" once|strong="G0530" more|strong="G2089", signifieth|strong="G1213" the removing|strong="G3331" of those things that are shaken|strong="G4531", as|strong="G5613" of things that are made|strong="G4160", that|strong="G2443" those things which|strong="G4531" cannot|strong="G3361" be shaken|strong="G4531" may remain|strong="G3306".
28 Wherefore|strong="G1352" we receiving|strong="G3880" a kingdom|strong="G0932" which cannot be moved|strong="G0761", let us have|strong="G2192" grace|strong="G5485", whereby|strong="G1223" we may serve|strong="G3000" God|strong="G2316" acceptably|strong="G2102" with|strong="G3326" reverence|strong="G0127" and|strong="G2532" godly fear|strong="G2124":
29 For|strong="G1063" our|strong="G2257" God|strong="G2316" is a|strong="G4442" consuming|strong="G2654" fire|strong="G4442".
