2 And Jacob|strong="H3290" beheld|strong="H7200" the countenance|strong="H6440" of Laban|strong="H3837", and, behold, it was not toward him as|strong="H8543" before|strong="H8032".
3 And the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* said|strong="H0559" unto Jacob|strong="H3290", Return|strong="H7725" unto the land|strong="H0776" of thy fathers|strong="H0001", and to thy kindred|strong="H4138"; and I will be with thee.
4 And Jacob|strong="H3290" sent|strong="H7971" and called|strong="H7121" Rachel|strong="H7354" and Leah|strong="H3812" to the field|strong="H7704" unto his flock|strong="H6629",
5 And said|strong="H0559" unto them, I see|strong="H7200" your father’s|strong="H0001" countenance|strong="H6440", that it is not toward me as|strong="H8543" before|strong="H8032"; but the God|strong="H0430" of my father|strong="H0001" hath been|strong="H1961" with me.
6 And ye|strong="H0859" know|strong="H3045" that with all my power|strong="H3581" I have served|strong="H5647" your father|strong="H0001".
7 And your father|strong="H0001" hath deceived|strong="H2048" me, and changed|strong="H2498" my wages|strong="H4909" ten|strong="H6235" times|strong="H4489"; but God|strong="H0430" suffered him|strong="H5414" not to hurt|strong="H7489" me|strong="H5978".
8 If he said|strong="H0559" thus, The speckled|strong="H5348" shall be thy wages|strong="H7939"; then all the cattle|strong="H6629" bare|strong="H3205" speckled|strong="H5348": and if he said|strong="H0559" thus, The ringstraked|strong="H6124" shall be thy hire|strong="H7939"; then bare|strong="H3205" all the cattle|strong="H6629" ringstraked|strong="H6124".
9 Thus God|strong="H0430" hath taken away|strong="H5337" the cattle|strong="H4735" of your father|strong="H0001", and given|strong="H5414" them to me.
10 And it came to pass at the time|strong="H6256" that the cattle|strong="H6629" conceived|strong="H3179", that I lifted up|strong="H5375" mine eyes|strong="H5869", and saw|strong="H7200" in a dream|strong="H2472", and, behold, the rams|strong="H6260" which leaped|strong="H5927" upon the cattle|strong="H6629" were ringstraked|strong="H6124", speckled|strong="H5348", and grisled|strong="H1261".
11 And the angel|strong="H4397" of God|strong="H0430" spake|strong="H0559" unto me in a dream|strong="H2472", saying, Jacob|strong="H3290": And I said|strong="H0559", Here am I.
12 And he said|strong="H0559", Lift up|strong="H5375" now thine eyes|strong="H5869", and see|strong="H7200", all the rams|strong="H6260" which leap|strong="H5927" upon the cattle|strong="H6629" are ringstraked|strong="H6124", speckled|strong="H5348", and grisled|strong="H1261": for I have seen|strong="H7200" all that Laban|strong="H3837" doeth|strong="H6213" unto thee.
13 I am the God|strong="H0410" of Beth-el|strong="H1008", where thou anointedst|strong="H4886" the pillar|strong="H4676", and where thou vowedst|strong="H5087" a vow|strong="H5088" unto me: now arise|strong="H6965", get thee out|strong="H3318" from this land|strong="H0776", and return|strong="H7725" unto the land|strong="H0776" of thy kindred|strong="H4138".
14 And Rachel|strong="H7354" and Leah|strong="H3812" answered|strong="H6030" and said|strong="H0559" unto him, Is there yet any portion|strong="H2506" or inheritance|strong="H5159" for us in our father’s|strong="H0001" house|strong="H1004"?
15 Are we not counted|strong="H2803" of him strangers|strong="H5237"? for he hath sold|strong="H4376" us, and hath quite|strong="H0398" devoured|strong="H0398" also our money|strong="H3701".
16 For all the riches|strong="H6239" which God|strong="H0430" hath taken|strong="H5337" from our father|strong="H0001", that is ours, and our children’s|strong="H1121": now then, whatsoever God|strong="H0430" hath said|strong="H0559" unto thee, do|strong="H6213".
17 Then Jacob|strong="H3290" rose up|strong="H6965", and set|strong="H5375" his sons|strong="H1121" and his wives|strong="H0802" upon camels|strong="H1581";
18 And he carried away|strong="H5090" all his cattle|strong="H4735", and all his goods|strong="H7399" which he had gotten|strong="H7408", the cattle|strong="H4735" of his getting|strong="H7075", which he had gotten|strong="H7408" in Padan-aram|strong="H6307", for to go|strong="H0935" to Isaac|strong="H3327" his father|strong="H0001" in the land|strong="H0776" of Canaan|strong="H3667".
19 And Laban|strong="H3837" went|strong="H1980" to shear|strong="H1494" his sheep|strong="H6629": and Rachel|strong="H7354" had stolen|strong="H1589" the images|strong="H8655" that were her father’s|strong="H0001".
20 And Jacob|strong="H3290" stole away|strong="H1589" unawares|strong="H3820" to Laban|strong="H3837" the Syrian|strong="H0761", in that|strong="H5921" he told|strong="H5046" him not|strong="H1097" that he fled|strong="H1272".
21 So he fled|strong="H1272" with all that he had; and he rose up|strong="H6965", and passed over|strong="H5674" the river|strong="H5104", and set|strong="H7760" his face|strong="H6440" toward the mount|strong="H2022" Gilead|strong="H1568".
22 And it was told|strong="H5046" Laban|strong="H3837" on the third|strong="H7992" day|strong="H3117" that Jacob|strong="H3290" was fled|strong="H1272".
23 And he took|strong="H3947" his brethren|strong="H0251" with him, and pursued|strong="H7291" after him|strong="H0310" seven|strong="H7651" days’|strong="H3117" journey|strong="H1870"; and they overtook|strong="H1692" him in the mount|strong="H2022" Gilead|strong="H1568".
24 And God|strong="H0430" came|strong="H0935" to Laban|strong="H3837" the Syrian|strong="H0761" in a dream|strong="H2472" by night|strong="H3915", and said|strong="H0559" unto him, Take heed|strong="H8104" that thou speak|strong="H1696" not to|strong="H5973" Jacob|strong="H3290" either good|strong="H2896" or|strong="H5704" bad|strong="H7451".
25 Then Laban|strong="H3837" overtook|strong="H5381" Jacob|strong="H3290". Now Jacob|strong="H3290" had pitched|strong="H8628" his tent|strong="H0168" in the mount|strong="H2022": and Laban|strong="H3837" with his brethren|strong="H0251" pitched|strong="H8628" in the mount|strong="H2022" of Gilead|strong="H1568".
26 And Laban|strong="H3837" said|strong="H0559" to Jacob|strong="H3290", What hast thou done|strong="H6213", that thou hast stolen away|strong="H1589" unawares|strong="H3824" to me, and carried away|strong="H5090" my daughters|strong="H1323", as captives|strong="H7617" taken with the sword|strong="H2719"?
27 Wherefore didst thou flee away|strong="H1272" secretly|strong="H2244", and steal away|strong="H1589" from me; and didst not tell|strong="H5046" me, that I might have sent thee away|strong="H7971" with mirth|strong="H8057", and with songs|strong="H7892", with tabret|strong="H8596", and with harp|strong="H3658"?
28 And hast not suffered|strong="H5203" me to kiss|strong="H5401" my sons|strong="H1121" and my daughters|strong="H1323"? thou hast now done foolishly|strong="H5528" in so doing|strong="H6213".
29 It is|strong="H3426" in the power|strong="H0410" of my hand|strong="H3027" to do|strong="H6213" you hurt|strong="H7451": but the God|strong="H0430" of your father|strong="H0001" spake|strong="H0559" unto me yesternight|strong="H0570", saying|strong="H0559", Take thou heed|strong="H8104" that thou speak not|strong="H1696" to Jacob|strong="H3290" either good|strong="H2896" or bad|strong="H7451".
30 And now, though thou wouldest needs|strong="H1980" be gone|strong="H1980", because thou sore|strong="H3700" longedst|strong="H3700" after thy father’s|strong="H0001" house|strong="H1004", yet wherefore hast thou stolen|strong="H1589" my gods|strong="H0430"?
31 And Jacob|strong="H3290" answered|strong="H6030" and said|strong="H0559" to Laban|strong="H3837", Because I was afraid|strong="H3372": for I said|strong="H0559", Peradventure|strong="H6435" thou wouldest take by force|strong="H1497" thy daughters|strong="H1323" from me.
32 With whomsoever|strong="H0834" thou findest|strong="H4672" thy gods|strong="H0430", let him not live|strong="H2421": before|strong="H5048" our brethren|strong="H0251" discern|strong="H5234" thou what is thine with me, and take|strong="H3947" it to thee. For Jacob|strong="H3290" knew|strong="H3045" not that Rachel|strong="H7354" had stolen|strong="H1589" them.
33 And Laban|strong="H3837" went|strong="H0935" into Jacob’s|strong="H3290" tent|strong="H0168", and into Leah’s|strong="H3812" tent|strong="H0168", and into the two|strong="H8147" maidservants’|strong="H0519" tents|strong="H0168"; but he found|strong="H4672" them not. Then went he out|strong="H3318" of Leah’s|strong="H3812" tent|strong="H0168", and entered|strong="H0935" into Rachel’s|strong="H7354" tent|strong="H0168".
34 Now Rachel|strong="H7354" had taken|strong="H3947" the images|strong="H8655", and put|strong="H7760" them in the camel’s|strong="H1581" furniture|strong="H3733", and sat|strong="H3427" upon them. And Laban|strong="H3837" searched|strong="H4959" all the tent|strong="H0168", but found|strong="H4672" them not.
35 And she said|strong="H0559" to her father|strong="H0001", Let it not displease|strong="H2734" my lord|strong="H0113" that I cannot|strong="H3201" rise up|strong="H6965" before thee|strong="H6440"; for the custom|strong="H1870" of women|strong="H0802" is upon me. And he searched|strong="H2664", but found|strong="H4672" not the images|strong="H8655".
36 And Jacob|strong="H3290" was wroth|strong="H2734", and chode|strong="H7378" with Laban|strong="H3837": and Jacob|strong="H3290" answered|strong="H6030" and said|strong="H0559" to Laban|strong="H3837", What is my trespass|strong="H6588"? what is my sin|strong="H2403", that thou hast so hotly pursued|strong="H1814" after me|strong="H0310"?
37 Whereas|strong="H3588" thou hast searched|strong="H4959" all my stuff|strong="H3627", what hast thou found|strong="H4672" of all thy household|strong="H1004" stuff|strong="H3627"? set|strong="H7760" it here|strong="H3541" before my brethren|strong="H0251" and thy brethren|strong="H0251", that they may judge|strong="H3198" betwixt|strong="H0996" us both|strong="H8147".
38 This twenty|strong="H6242" years|strong="H8141" have I been with thee; thy ewes|strong="H7353" and thy she goats|strong="H5795" have not cast their young|strong="H7921", and the rams|strong="H0352" of thy flock|strong="H6629" have I not eaten|strong="H0398".
39 That which was torn|strong="H2966" of beasts I brought|strong="H0935" not unto thee; I bare the loss|strong="H2398" of it; of my hand|strong="H3027" didst thou require|strong="H1245" it, whether stolen|strong="H1589" by day|strong="H3117", or stolen|strong="H1589" by night|strong="H3915".
40 Thus I was; in the day|strong="H3117" the drought|strong="H2721" consumed|strong="H0398" me, and the frost|strong="H7140" by night|strong="H3915"; and my sleep|strong="H8142" departed|strong="H5074" from mine eyes|strong="H5869".
41 Thus have I been twenty|strong="H6242" years|strong="H8141" in thy house|strong="H1004"; I served thee|strong="H5647" fourteen|strong="H0702" years|strong="H8141" for thy two|strong="H8147" daughters|strong="H1323", and six|strong="H8337" years|strong="H8141" for thy cattle|strong="H6629": and thou hast changed|strong="H2498" my wages|strong="H4909" ten|strong="H6235" times|strong="H4489".

God|strong="H0430" hath seen|strong="H7200" mine affliction|strong="H6040" and the labour|strong="H3018" of my hands|strong="H3709", and rebuked|strong="H3198" thee yesternight|strong="H0570".
43 And Laban|strong="H3837" answered|strong="H6030" and said|strong="H0559" unto Jacob|strong="H3290", These daughters|strong="H1323" are my daughters|strong="H1323", and these children|strong="H1121" are my children|strong="H1121", and these cattle|strong="H6629" are my cattle|strong="H6629", and all that thou seest|strong="H7200" is mine: and what can I do|strong="H6213" this day|strong="H3117" unto these my daughters|strong="H1323", or|strong="H0176" unto their children|strong="H1121" which they have born|strong="H3205"?
44 Now therefore come thou|strong="H3212", let us make|strong="H3772" a covenant|strong="H1285", I and thou; and let it be for a witness|strong="H5707" between me and thee.
45 And Jacob|strong="H3290" took|strong="H3947" a stone|strong="H0068", and set it up|strong="H7311" for a pillar|strong="H4676".
46 And Jacob|strong="H3290" said|strong="H0559" unto his brethren|strong="H0251", Gather|strong="H3950" stones|strong="H0068"; and they took|strong="H3947" stones|strong="H0068", and made|strong="H6213" an heap|strong="H1530": and they did eat|strong="H0398" there upon the heap|strong="H1530".

48 And Laban|strong="H3837" said|strong="H0559", This heap|strong="H1530" is a witness|strong="H5707" between me and thee this day|strong="H3117". Therefore was the name|strong="H8034" of it called|strong="H7121" Galeed|strong="H1567";

50 If thou shalt afflict|strong="H6031" my daughters|strong="H1323", or if thou shalt take|strong="H3947" other wives|strong="H0802" beside|strong="H5921" my daughters|strong="H1323", no man|strong="H0376" is with us; see|strong="H7200", God|strong="H0430" is witness|strong="H5707" betwixt me and thee.
51 And Laban|strong="H3837" said|strong="H0559" to Jacob|strong="H3290", Behold this heap|strong="H1530", and behold this pillar|strong="H4676", which I have cast|strong="H3384" betwixt me and thee;

53 The God|strong="H0430" of Abraham|strong="H0085", and the God|strong="H0430" of Nahor|strong="H5152", the God|strong="H0430" of their father|strong="H0001", judge|strong="H8199" betwixt us.
